Prologue
The day was March Sixteenth, the year 1979. Minako Arisato sat on board a train heading to Shibuya, except that wasn't her stop, it was her cover. As far as anyone else knew, Minako was going to Tokyo to break the news of her brother's death ten days prior to extended family. The only problem was, none of them lived in Tokyo, they were all in Hokkaido. Minako had an ulterior motive being on the train. It crawled to a stop and Minako stepped onto the platform. She walked two blocks to an innocuous office building. She was familiar with it by now, she had been casing it for four days now, and she would strike today. She pulled the TT-33 she stole from police lockup a few days prior and firmly yanked the slide. Minako was going to get her collateral. Minako was going to defect to the Soviet Union. She took a deep breath and stepped inside. A receptionist sat at the desk, typing on a computer, taking a break to look up at her.
"Hello Ma'am, how can I help you?" She asked with a smile on her face. Minako didn't hold back, she aimed the handgun at the woman.
"You can start by getting the guard out here, keeping your hands where I can see them." Minako stated, pointing the gun at the woman. She had never actually held one before, the closest thing being the Evoker tucked into her bag. The receptionist got up and approached a door behind her and to the side.
"Excuse me, Kaito-San? Could you step out for a minute? I'm having trouble with the computer again." The receptionist asked. A man stepped out of the door and immediately took notice of Minako and her handgun, an eyebrow raised. The younger guard was in today, the one questioning his role in society.
"You don't want to throw your life away for a few measly files, do you?" Minako asked. The guard looked at Minako's handgun, then at his own baton. The man nodded and got on his knees. Minako used the man's handcuffs to cuff the guard. However, this led to her shifting attention away from the receptionist, leading to her rushing Minako with a potted plant. Minako simply struck her in the temple with the guard's baton. She then moved up the stairs to the file storage. Two workers were there, an older man and a young intern.
"Excuse me, I need some files." Minako stated.
"Sure, what do you need?" The older man asked.
"Anything on the creation of the Dark Hour, Anti Shadow Weapons, and Personas. Oh and the Plumes of Dusk you have here would be nice." Minako demanded.
"Kaz, do what she says, she has a gun." The intern stated.
"You get the hell out of here now missy." The older man stated. Minako shifted her gun to him.
"No, I'm getting what I want." Minako spat. The man grabbed a briefcase and rushed her, only for Minako to shoot him in the leg.
"GAH SHIT!" The man yelled. The younger one was terrified.
"Now then, go get me the files." Minako spat, shifting her aim to the man. She did her best to mask the terror she was feeling. As the man ran to grab the files and the Plumes of Dusk, she contemplated what she just did. She just shot someone, they may die. She never intended that when she decided to steal the information. She didn't have time though, cops were likely on their way and she needed to get out. The man came back with a briefcase stuffed with files and three metal vials. She took it and hit the man in the head to keep him from knowing her escape. She climbed out a window and boarded another train, barely evading the police's arrival at the site.
Perseus was growing worried, that Arisato girl was supposed to be here by now. Could she have been captured? No, she was far too smart for that, she wrote the encryption they used on the radio for god's sake.
"Comrade, she's at the drop point." The lookout reported via radio.
"Thank you." Perseus acknowledged. A young woman with auburn hair approached him, a bag on her back and a briefcase in her arms. She stood in front of Perseus and gave him a slight glare, then a smile.
"It's good to finally meet you in person, Perseus." Minako stated.
"Likewise, Arisato." Perseus stated. "Do you have what you promised?"
"I do, and then some." Minako stated, handing him the briefcase. Perseus opened the briefcase and took a look at the contents, some files, and a set of three vials. "What are these?"
"Plumes of Dusk. They are incredibly powerful, more so than Uranium." Minako smirked. "There's more about them on-" Minako was interrupted by a van swerving into the alley they were in. Men burst out in military uniforms, all wielding Type 64's.
"PUBLIC SECURITY, STAND DOWN NOW!" one of the soldiers demanded, aiming directly at Perseus. "THE GIRL AND HER FILES ARE COMING WITH US!"
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was being followed." Minako pleaded.
"Do not worry, this just means we have some fun." Perseus said with a grin. He grabbed the rifle sitting on a concrete barricade and fired at the soldiers. A gunfight ensued, lasting a solid four minutes. There was nothing noteworthy about it except for one thing, Minako killed human beings. She shot three of the soldiers with a TT-33. She was certainly something more than what he thought, that was for sure. Perhaps she could make a great agent.
A/N: God am I excited to make this a series. So a few things before we begin, I will be changing some weapons as well as refering to them by their real names (So no Krig 6, AK-5 instead) mostly just making some anachronistic weapons more realistic (so no AK-5, it will be the FNC instead). I'm also making some changes to fit future plans, among other somewhat dull changes.
