No one lives forever! - No One Lives Forever by Oingo Boingo
Vanessa was at the apartment, eating a granola bar as the radio nearby in the bedroom was blasting "Helter Skelter". Vanessa was getting ready for work, as she was planning on heading there at 7 o'clock. She didn't have anything to worry about. The 3 other nightguards were assigned to be there together in one night for a private party, so there wasn't going to be a problem.
"I got blisters on my fingers!" the radio switched from the end of the song, then back to the jockey at the radio station. "You're listening to 99.7 FM, where we shall wrap things up with afternoon news, before we sign off with some spicy hits! We have our man Vincent down at the new Pizza Plex, where he gives us some coverage on the hype surrounding the opening. Vincent, what do you got?"
The radio gave a second pause, as it switched to Vincent on the radio. "I'm here at the Mega Pizza Plex by Fazbear Entertainment! It's good for a first day, since there's a lack of Karens around!" Vincent joked, as the jockey gave a laugh. "Anyways, there are crowds here! They might start leaving soon, but there's going to be a performance by the Glamrock band as an encore! They performed a few times during the day, but it's fun to see them again."
"For a cover band, they are being hits in Utah?"
"They might be big in Japan!"
"Alright! We see you back at the station, Vincent! Now, we got some 80's hits of our own channel, shifting away from the Beatles! Starting with this 1984 classic from Diana Ross, here's "It's Your Move!". The radio started playing the song, as she checked the clock. She was supposed to be there at the Pizza Plex at 8PM with the other nightguards, but she wanted to save her energy. There was still time left, as the minutes ticked by.
"You're in for a wild ride in the Wind Tunnel! Collect as tickets-TICKETS as you possibly can!" the clown animatronic said, as Jack noticed how creepy it looked. It had long yellow stretchy coils for arms and an open-jawed grin. Nevertheless, the Wind Tunnel booth was open, as the two boys took their turns to collect as many tickets as possible. The clown animatronic stared a bit at them, as they left to turn in their tickets to the prize counter. A counter full of vintage and modern prizes from decades of time.
Evelyn was there with Harper, as the two managed to gain a bunch of tickets for Evelyn to get a large pink stuffed plushie of Glamrock Chica. Gregory noticed a game console that was on the top shelf, as they were looking over prizes. "Is that a PopGame 3? I thought they discounted those already?" Gregory remarked, as the worker behind the counter was trying to not have the two boys caused a clog-up of a line. "Come on, boys. What will it be? We have basketballs, mugs, masks, 8-balls, plushies, action figures, bobbleheads.."
Gregory already spotted something that keened his interest. It was an action figure of Glamrock Freddy with a plastic microphone. Something about it made him enjoy it's aesthetic. He still see the Glamrocks on stage, as they were passing by, though it was still too crowded to get an autograph. If animatronics could give out autographs, that is. "How about that?" Gregory pointed at it to the worker. "That will be 25 tickets."
Gregory checked his own stash of tickets, seeing that he had enough. He gave the worker the tickets, where in turn, he got the action figure of Glamrock Freddy. "How much do you have for 20 tickets?" Jack asked the worker. "Well.. Actually we do have this thing at a good price." the worker said, pulling out an antique caged fan. "What can I do with that? Doesn't that cost batteries, too?"
The worker leaned towards Jack with a cynical tone added. "If you're hoarding tickets, then we'll be hoarding more random junk. So if you want an action figure like your friend, I suggest you pay up."
Jack did only have 25 tickets, where Gregory got an extra 5 tickets. Getting people moving away, Jack brought the Montgomery Gator figurine, as the worker quietly shooed them away. "Were you trying to get a bobblehead?" Gregory asked, as they rejoined the crowd of kids. "There was that Yarg Foxy plushie that looked cool, but I got pressured for an action figure instead.."
"He shouldn't offer us a piece of junk like that, though!" Gregory said, wanting to admit that the worker was trying to con his friend into getting worthless pieces of metal.
The evening at Pizza Plex was going much smoothly as anticipated. The visitors and, of course, customers were enjoying whatever the Mega Pizza Plex had to offer. The kids would end up eating dinner at the diner that was upstairs. It wasn't pizza, but you can stuff a bunch of kids with burgers and milkshakes. Owen had already finished his meal and was playing Command Control with another kid. As Gregory obviously knew, he was winning, simply because he was cheating. He can even see him slip in extra cards in his hand from under the table.
As the kids were still eating, a waiter bot ended up breaking down nearby, losing power. A human worker noticed the powerless waiter bot, as he radioed in for maintenance. It was when Evelyn recognized one of the maintenance men who arrived. "Mom? Is that cousin Skeeter?" Evelyn said, as she can recognize his face and slicked forward hairstyle. "Honey, it's best to let your cousin work. I'm sure he's busy." Mrs. Cox said, as Evelyn hopped out of her seat. "It will be a second, Mom."
Skeeter was a cousin that visited the Cox family often. Mostly on the holidays. He was wealthy as the Cox family, but it seems to be a maintenance worker for some explicable reason. Well.. he did have a reason.
Skeeter got thrown out of the university that his parents paid for him for plagiarism and an isolated incident involving the dean's prized car. His parents didn't take this lightly, since they learnt that the money they gave their son was being used for frat boy parties, instead of books. Wanting to make an example out of their son, they forced him to get a job, since he wasn't a deadbeat. Skeeter had black hair with a hairstyle of a greaser that was in heavy contrast with the maintenance uniform he was wearing. When he wasn't at work and not trying to get internet clout from data mining social media apps, he was now using his knowledge of car mechanics to now do staff bot mechanics. A random gig, but Skeet needed to show he was getting money from his job.
"Skeeter?" Evelyn said, as Skeeter was busy unscrewing a panel on the staff bot to check the inner workings. "Evelyn? What are you doing here? I need to work!" Skeeter wanted to shoo her away, even though she was his cousin. "I didn't know you were working here?"
"It's uhh.." Skeeter needed to come up with a lie. "It's a part-time job. I'm putting an engineering major to use." Another maintenance worker with short dirty blonde hair and a flat cap appeared to help Skeeter. "Got the toolbox, Skeet." the other worker said, as Skeeter was peering inside of the staff bot. "Get me some tweezers, Schmidt. This one might need to be moved to proper maintenance." Skeeter said, before directing his attention back to Evelyn. "I meet with you later. Maybe before you leave. I'm on a packed shift, so head back to your parents." Skeeter closed the panel, as he had his hands on one side of the staff bot. "Alright, help me push this." Skeeter said, as both him and the other maintenance worker Schmidt were pushing the staff bot to the staff only areas of the Pizza Plex.
Liam Foster was walking through Roxanne's Canyon, as he was observing the people around him. He was trying to be perspective. It was the smiles he was looking at. Smiles were a sign that the people loved the place. As he was walking near the Glam Rock Hair Salon, he came across Sophia Bennet, as she had recently brought some things from the mall section of the Pizza Plex. Foster can recognize the handbag that he saw in a store window which Bennet was carrying. "Mrs. Bennet. So glad to see that you're enjoying yourself here at the Pizza Plex. Has your husband finally arrived?" Foster asked her, knowing that he was supposed to remind the VIPs that the party at the RetroRama. "He isn't coming over to Utah. He's still in Boston for a broker deal. Listen.. After what happened with Hughes.." Sophia wanted to say something, but she noticed the kids around her, where she wanted to take the conversation elsewhere.
"Something wrong?"
"I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't mean to get drunk. I was remembering something that happened with my... my late stepsister. Hughes didn't mean to offend me."
"Late stepsister?"
"It's still a touchy topic, but my stepsister died right here in Utah. I never got the chance to actually... you know.."
"Bond with her?"
"Yeah. Bond. That's the right word."
"I apologize about not knowing about that earlier. I'm sorry for your loss."
"I know. I get that response. It's more of something that affected my stepmother and father more than me. It was hard, seeing them collapse. You know? Even if my father was rich and after my stepsister ran away the day before my birthday."
"I think it's best we forget about that for now. Tonight will be an evening of joy and music." Foster said, trying to brighten Bennet up. "Come on. I can show you the RetroRama. I think Myers updated her social media feed the last time I checked my phone. She is a photo-happy celebrity."
Foster guided Bennet into an elevator that was near the Atrium and Centre Square. It was a different type of elevator, as it had glass windows that overlooked the square and even the Glamrocks who were performing on the Main Stage. They waited until the couple of guests who were with them left the elevator for the second floor, as Foster made sure that the elevator went up the third floor. "How big is this place you say again?" Sophia had forgotten on how big the Pizza Plex really was. "Big enough for everyone's heart's content." Liam said, flashing a smile.
The elevator doors opened, as there was a small wide-open hallway that led to both an observation deck and to the RetroRama nightclub. The RetroRama nightclub was themed heavily to the 80's. The color palette was a hot pink and blue, along with white. Neon lights were all over the place, along with a disco ball. "I thought disco died out in the late 70's?" Bennet said, until Foster nearly interrupted her. "Disco died back in 1980. Plus, everyone who hated disco back then are all dead. You can't kill something that's traditional."
"Looks like my prom."
It wasn't really a prom that it looked like in the nightclub. Yes, there were tables with bowls of punch, cider, and champagne, however the presence of several adults made it look like a get-together more than a prom. There was a DJ on stage, along with columns of retro TVs stacked on top of each other. Each screen showing classic 80's footage and even old commercials of past Fazbear establishments. There were windows that overlooked the Centre Square, as Sophia peered through them to see people gathered for one of the Glamrocks' shows. "Like it? It's like a VIP experience." Liam said, entertaining her.
"I do actually want to ask. Don't you have a wife and a son?" Sophia's answer gave him a laugh. "My son would love to be here, but my wife wants to be away from business. Says that it's unhealthy. I don't think so at all, but I get her message. Go ahead, I see Gilmore if you want to talk to him. There's Hughes I see over there, if you're interested! I will be heading back down to see how things are with the guests." Liam said, giving a wink to Sophia, as he allowed herself to be excused.
Liam took a quick swipe at the current guests who were present in the RetroRama. He saw Heather Myers, Hughes, Bennet, and Gilmore. He knew that Mr. Cox, who was an accountant with the company was supposed to show up with his wife, but they hadn't arrived yet. Bundy already informed Gilmore that he wasn't going to attend the party for undisclosed matters. Mason Grey seemed to have the same response, but Foster couldn't trust him after hearing the reports about the Glamrocks.
What most concerned him, however, was Kalpack. Kalpack had told Foster that he was going to show up at the party tonight, but Foster didn't see him at all today. There was some unease, but Foster was trying to shrug it off.
"So when should we do it?" Emma Ross said to Ethan Kalpack, as they were easily annoyed at the sights and sounds of the children running around, as they watched Sunrise entertain some tots with a somersault. "Not when it's crowded. Also, we can't talk in public here. Come on. To the restrooms." Ethan directed her, as they slipped out of the Day and Night Play Palace. Coincidently, they walked back both Luis and Olivia, as they were walking down the hall, however both pairs didn't seem to notice each other. Makes sense, since Ethan doesn't even keep tabs on the lower paid workers in the company. Finding some privacy in a quiet area near the restrooms, Ethan continued the conversation.
"We can't do it when it's crowded. I was suggesting that we try to pull something when the party is happening. I doubt the nightguards here will even do their jobs." Ethan said, as he was conspiring with plans of his own. Ironically, considering that he was unable that Olivia was going to kill 4 kids and a nightguard. "You do know that this type of insurance fraud can harm possibly children, right?" Emma asked him, where he gave a smirk.
"Serves the brats, right. Will make me laugh to see Fazbear Entertainment Inc bull#### their way outta a crippling injury from a 5 year old."
"What's your plan if we get caught?"
"If I get caught. You're my lawyer. You will tell the courts and Bundy that affluenza is my get-out-of-jail card. Then I can finally take full advantage after I quit this job by investing into the reasonable money-making approach of real estate and NFT's."
"Do people still do NFT's?" Ross asked him, as he gave a dismissive answer. "Whatever we do, we will get money. Bundy and Gilmore will have nothing against us. People like to listen to whistleblowers, don't they?" Kalpack showed a smile, as they continued down the hallway, where they went upstairs in the mall section of the Pizza Plex. It wasn't until the two noticed some crying and scared children near a music store was when Kalpack wanted to laugh. But he had to remain calm. Emma Ross saw an angry mother or two at the entrance, complaining to a store employee. That was when Ross saw it.
"Hey Ethan. I think I found what we can use." Emma said to him, as he looked inside the store. Their eyes were focused on a type of animatronic that was understandable in giving young kids bad dreams. It had the legs of a spider, two large heavy cymbals in it's hands, and two empty black eyes. The top hat at the top of Music Man's head did little to keep it's terrifying appearance a secret. "What is that?!" Emma tried to conceal her whisper, though she was repulsed at the appearance of the animatronic. "I think I heard about this thing before. This animatronic is supposed to be vintage. I could have swore it suffered from damage from a fire."
"You think we can get away with tampering with that?" Emma whispered close to Ethan. "Help me memorize the name of the store."
"Melodies and Magic, this place says."
"Got it. Now let's get out of here." Ethan said, leaving the store with his attorney. Even though Music Man had indirectly terrified the small and easily scared of kids, he tried to maintain a sense of harmony in the air, while he had his cymbals clashing together to the music. "Don't let all those faces be of frowns, make them happy by turning them upside down!" Music Man said, trying to entertain the kids. The problem was that the toddlers were horrified than happy with the misunderstood animatronic.
Author's Notes and some spoilers concerning Fazbear's Frights:
First off, yes.
Yes, I'm late.
But it's important to remember I have a fall semester, so I can't give out chapters every week. My workload is more hectic, so all I can ask is patience.
Keeping track of the latest teasers, I think something sinister is more afoot. My theories on teasers are with some lack of evidence to back me up, but..
Is there going to be a game version of Afton's Amalgamation? I don't think it's connected to the Alpha Z picture, but there was some details that might imply that there is something that is more than meets the eye. Then there was the theory that confirms Sunrise and Moondrop are the same (I'll take "good care" of Sunrise, I promise.)
Then there was the mangled Glamrocks. Now we actually have Music Man possibly in the game. Ok, maybe a version, but my original plan was to include Music Man before the third teaser was released, meaning I may had gotten something correct, even if it wasn't a theory.
*gets out notepad*
Also.. while digging around a bit of Reddit, I found a piece of art from AlpinePing called "Dinner Party", which I found amazing, since a lot of people thought it was a 3D render. They do mostly Helluva Boss art, but they made some SB art which I recommend you check out.
You want something to get you all at ease for the next chapter? How about this.. I had to cut the chapter in half again, but I'm going to introduce to you an excerpt with a familiar face. Just to show what hell I'm cooking.
Teaser:
After their experiences with the FazPark, they found another eatery themed around desserts and candy. With a glittery sign with the words "Chica's Confectionery Store" with a statue of Glamrock Chica nearby. Despite the store being themed around Glamrock Chica, they still sold other Glamrock themed candy and food. There was ice cream that looked better than the awkward gumball-eyed caricatures found in ice cream trucks, which gave the already sugar-happy kids most super-happy things to consume. To add in extra sugar, there was a machine that dispensed flavored powder candy, which was the official legal heroin for children. Gregory was looking around the store, as all the other kids were getting bags of their favorite candy, along with some ice cream and cupcakes.
He was about to get a lollipop, until he saw a robot at a far corner of the store near some gumball machines. It had multicolored lights and looked like something from an old sci-fi movie. "I am Candy Cadet, come get your candy here. I have candy all day, everyday. Candy. Candy. Candy." the retro-looking robot said, as Gregory examined it. He looked down to see two coin slots at the base of the robot. 25 cents it wanted, but Gregory didn't have any money. Bummer. However, Gregory saw something roll out of one of the coin slots. It rolled and landed in front of his feet, as he saw a shine of an used quarter. Was the machine old? Things were starting to feel like a coincidence, unless it was a lucky day for him. Curious, Gregory inserted the quarter back in through the coin slot.
There was a small click, as the Candy Cadet dispensed a piece of candy wrapped in red. "I would like to tell you a story." Candy Cadet said, as Gregory unwrapped his candy to eat it. "I'm good on stories." Gregory said, as he wanted to get back to his friend Jack. He saw him by some kids eating Montgomery Gator lime-flavored popsicles. He was about to walk away, until he heard the Candy Cadet speak again.
"I want to tell you a story." it spoke with a sense of passive-aggressiveness. Gregory turned over, as the robot was behind him. Did it move closer to him, since it had wheels? Gregory thought, as he raised an eyebrow. "Why would I want to hear a story?"
"A good story can have a good moral to hear and learn."
"Well... ok. Go on?" Gregory said, as the Candy Cadet would begin to tell a story to Gregory...
