Quick Note: I took note that the previous chapter was practically a breather, since there was a lack of tension. Here, this is the beginning of subtlety being tossed out the window and into Hell. This isn't the chapter where #### hits the fan, but this is the chapter before it. You will see why soon..
Also.
Release Date: 12/16/2021. And I just confirmed Music Man before he officially appeared..
Here's a fun question I want to ask...
ARE YOU HAVING FUN, YET?
The kids were at one part of the Pizza Plex, where they encountered something to get all of their energy depleted for the evening. Gregory's eyes almost sparkled, as he looked around the large open area. It was an amusement park. An actual amusement park. While it was indoors, there were several rides visible from the entrance. There was a merry-go-round, a small launch and drop tower, a pendulum ride with a circular gondola, a chair swing, a small ferris wheel, flying saucers ride, Gravitron, and a roller coaster that was made for families that went around the amusement park.
"This place has everything!" Owen, one of the kids that Evelyn invited, which Gregory disliked, was practically subdued with all of what the amusement park was currently offering. Even the child in the distance who was vomiting out his guts into a trash can, being helped by his father, as he hoisted him up to the trash can by his legs, didn't seem to bother the kids at all. "What rides should we go on? The lines all look long.." Jack said, as Evelyn seemed attracted to a certain rollercoaster that didn't seem to have anyone on it.
The rollercoaster wasn't like the family-friendly version that went around the amusement park. Instead, it was designed to look like a traditional corkscrew coaster. One can see the restraints were the usual black over-the-shoulder variant that most coasters use. The rollercoaster itself was in a bright blood red color, as some of the kids watched as a coaster train went into a loop, as no one was on the coaster. As Evelyn and Harper got close to the ride, there was a "You Must Be This Tall to Ride" sign that both girls went under. They both barely passed, but they were certainly tall enough to ride. However, a staff member prevented them from getting onto the ride. "Coaster isn't in operation, girls." he said, as he had the look of a carny.
"What do you mean? It's up and running?" Harper said, until the staff member pointed at the visible "CLOSED: CURRENTLY TESTING" sign that the two girls didn't notice. "I had many bummed thrill-seekers come my way. You're currently better off at the pendulum." the staff member said, as he remained at the front of the coaster to make sure no one else was trying to get onto the queue of the coaster.
"Didn't know you were an adrenaline junkie, Evelyn?" Harper said, as they were looking for another ride to head off to, as Evelyn was carrying the stuffed plushie of Glamrock Chica in her hands. "You don't remember me telling you about my trip to Shoreline? They had so many roller coasters that I rode!" Evelyn explained, as Harper was trying to think of a more gentle ride to enjoy, since she wasn't into all of the thrill rides that Evelyn was more inclined to ride. "There's actually a lot of people in the line to the pendulum ride. How about we ride the chair swing?" Harper recommended, as she was aware that their time in the amusement park was going to be short.
The rest of the kids were enjoying themselves at whatever ride gave them the shortest lines. It was possible for them to almost ride any available attraction the amusement park had to offer, but Harper was correct that they were going to be forced to get a move on soon. Eventually, Mrs. Cox had the kids rounded up, since the Pizza Plex was going to close in a hour, which she needed to regroup with her husband for the party tonight. Both Evelyn and Harper had got off the chair swing, however there was one problem..
At the start of the ride, Evelyn had left her plushie under the chair she was riding in a basket designed to store loose items. However, after the ride ended, she had forgotten that she had the plushie under the seat. It would end up being a while until she was realize her mistake.
After their experiences with the FazPark, they found another eatery themed around desserts and candy. With a glittery sign with the words "Chica's Confectionery Store" with a statue of Glamrock Chica nearby. Despite the store being themed around Glamrock Chica, they still sold other Glamrock themed candy and food. There was ice cream that looked better than the awkward gumball-eyed caricatures found in ice cream trucks, which gave the already sugar-happy kids most super-happy things to consume. To add in extra sugar, there was a machine that dispensed flavored powder candy, which was the official legal heroin for children. Gregory was looking around the store, as all the other kids were getting bags of their favorite candy, along with some ice cream and cupcakes.
He was about to get a lollipop, until he saw a robot at a far corner of the store near some gumball machines. It had multicolored lights and looked like something from an old sci-fi movie. "I am Candy Cadet, come get your candy here. I have candy all day, everyday. Candy. Candy. Candy." the retro-looking robot said, as Gregory examined it. He looked down to see two coin slots at the base of the robot. 25 cents it wanted, but Gregory didn't have any money. Bummer. However, Gregory saw something roll out of one of the coin slots. It rolled and landed in front of his feet, as he saw a shine of an used quarter. Was the machine old? Things were starting to feel like a coincidence, unless it was a lucky day for him. Curious, Gregory inserted the quarter back in through the coin slot.
There was a small click, as the Candy Cadet dispensed a piece of candy wrapped in red. "I would like to tell you a story." Candy Cadet said, as Gregory unwrapped his candy to eat it. "I'm good on stories." Gregory said, as he wanted to get back to his friend Jack. He saw him by some kids eating Montgomery Gator lime-flavored popsicles. He was about to walk away, until he heard the Candy Cadet speak again.
"I want to tell you a story." it spoke with a sense of passive-aggressiveness. Gregory turned down, as the robot was behind him. Did it move closer to him, since it had wheels? Gregory thought, as he raised an eyebrow. "Why would I want to hear a story?"
"A good story can have a good moral to hear and learn."
"Well... ok. Go on?" Gregory said, as the Candy Cadet would begin to tell a story to Gregory.
"I have a story that I want to tell you. It's a fairy tale about 4 children, who were allowed to leave their homes to go to the woods to play. They were warned to return back to their parents, before the sky has became pitch black. However, the children would forget the warning, since they were busy looking for a lost chicken, as the sky was within twilight. When they tried to return home, they forgot to leave a trail behind to guide them back. Even as they tried to retrace their steps, a storm would flood some of the paths back home. Now, they were lost in the woods, until they were accomplished by a princess with a gold dress. The princess promised to help them, as the group tried to get home. On the way, they found a house made out of candy and sweets, luring the children and the princess over. They were met by a witch, who offered to help the children be happy forever. In actuality, the witch wanted to kill and consume the children, using their remains to make a five-course meal. When she saw that there were only 4 children, she decided to plot to kill the princess, even though the latter had fully trusted her as a friend. Then, the witch ended up encountering one of the children and offered him to come to her kitchen.."
Gregory felt goosebumps, as the Candy Cadet told the morbid story to him. Why...why would it tell such a disturbing fairy tale to him? Before Gregory can react, Candy Cadet let out a loud air horn that killed the tension. After as if the sense of danger that had just happened had went away. "Hey Gregory! Come on!" He heard Harper call him, as the kids were going to leave the candy store. He hurried after them, not wanting to be left behind.
"Today was certainly fun." Luis said to Olivia, as they were going to leave the Pizza Plex through the atrium. "Lots of sights to see. I did nab that performance by the Glamrocks. Interesting group.." Ness said, knowing that Glitchtrap's code might be able to control them for their plans. As they arrived at the atrium, they bumped into a familiar face. "Vanessa?" Ness said, recognizing her as she was in her nightguard uniform. "Oh Olivia! I forgot you were here. I came here early for my shift." Vanessa Price was there with her wristwatch and flashlight.
"Don't mind us, Vanessa. We were about to leave." Ness said, trying to make it sound like she was heading back to the flat. "Guessing you took the time to check out everything?" Vanessa asked her. "Most of what we can stumble upon." Ness said, until she forgot that Luis was next to her. "I almost forgot. Luis, this is Vanessa. She's my roommate who I live with. Vanessa, this is Luis. He's a co-worker who helps me out at work." Olivia said, trying to make sure things get awkward, but it looked like Luis was already on the verge of doing so.
"Oh, hey! I'm sure that Olivia must have mentioned about her job. Plus, you two might be already good friends!" Luis looked nervous, scratching the back of his head. "I could say the same about you two." Vanessa gave a smile, as Olivia tried to keep up with the façade. "Work friends, really." Olivia said, where she decided to grab Luis's hand, as he felt her grip tighten around his wrist. "Yeah! We share stuff during our coffee breaks! We talked a lot while we were here!" Luis raised his voice, though he was unaware that his feelings were being manipulated by Ness. "You both had fun?"
"Of course."
"Yeah!" Luis couldn't quiet down.
"You going to be here again all night?" Olivia said, making sure that Vanessa was still here, so Olivia can sacrifice her later. "All 4 of us again. But things will be different tomorrow." Vanessa said, as Olivia was keeping track on who could end up getting in the way.
Olivia pretended to check her phone to see the time, though it was to get Luis out of the Pizza Plex, so he wouldn't be a nuisance. "I should be getting back to the flat. We gotta go. It was nice seeing you here, Vanessa!" Olivia gave a smile, though both Vanessa and Luis didn't realize that it was out of glee of making sure one's plan was going well. "Thanks for coloring my nails, by the way. My coworkers liked them a lot!"
"Good to know, Vanessa! We'll be off!" Olivia said, as Luis gave his farewell as well. "Take care!"
Outside of the Pizza Plex, Olivia was making sure that Luis was going to head home, so she wouldn't have to deal with him. "It's already pretty late. We don't have work on Saturday, so I think we should both rest tomorrow." Olivia said, as Luis had some ideas, as he looked up at the moon in the night sky.
"So.. I know I got your phone number, but when would you like me to be a part of your movie? I know I'm not a good actor, but it would be fun to do something ch- I mean, different." Luis said, as Olivia stretched herself a bit. "I can film some stuff during the weekend, then I can call you next week, if I need you. How's that?" Ness said, as Luis was thrilled. "You going to head home by yourself?"
"I took a cab, so I'm taking another cab. It's an obvious parallel." Ness said, trying to discreetly shoo Luis away. "You sure? It's a bit too late out?"
"Don't want you to get tired while driving. I see you next week." Olivia said, getting out her phone to make it look like she was trying to hail a cab from an app. "See you later, Ness!" Luis said, as Ness gave a quick wave, before disappearing from his view.
"He's gone." Ness said, as she slipped her phone back into her pocket, as she was creeping around the corner of the Pizza Plex to get back to the loading dock where she stashed her bag. There were fewer supply trucks, but it was apparent that the Pizza Plex was closing up. The driver of one of the trucks that was parked in front of the loading dock looked way distracted by something he was reading. Another worker, who was inside, had his back turned as he was checking crates that were currently there to make sure it was not less or more of the requested amount.
Vanny ducked near some crates, as she went over to where she hid the bag. "There it is. No sign of anyone opening it." Glitchtrap said, as the large duffle bag was still untouched. Vanny grabbed the bag, as she waited until the worker near the truck go inside through the back, giving her time to slip by the camera and into the staff hallway.
"Wait.. where's my plushie?" Evelyn realized this at the worst possible time. It was after the Glamrocks had wrapped up their encore and the Pizza Plex was closing. It was even at another worst possible time, since Mrs. Cox was going to meet up with her husband to head upstairs to the RetroRama to attend the party by her husband's company. The plan was that she was going to have the driver of the party limo drop off the kids, since it was late. "Mom, I lost my plushie!" Evelyn said to her mother, as the latter felt stress. "Honey, you were supposed to have it.."
"I thought I had it-"
"This isn't the best time-"
"But Mom!"
The two got into an argument, which some of the kids overheard. Keeping to his word, Skeeter was at the Atrium, which he figured the kids would leave through, as Mrs. Cox spotted him. "Is something wrong?" Skeeter said, trying to not look out of place, as Gregory, Jack, and Harper were joining by Evelyn's side. "I lost my plushie!" Evelyn repeated the same complaint. "Skeeter, could you do me a favor? I can't deal with this right now." Mrs. Cox was trying to remain calm, which ironically, lots of people usually see her as calm.
"She lost a plushie?" Skeeter asked, as Evelyn nodded. "It's big and I won it in the arcade!" Evelyn said, as Skeeter had an idea. "I'm supposed to leave work, but I can help find her plushie."
"How long will that take?" Mrs. Cox asked.
"Should be 15 to 20 minutes?"
"It can't be that long."
"We do keep a lost and found bin, but this place sells all sorts of plushies. I think I seen 5 types of plushies like the one your daughter mentioned."
"I'm supposed to have her be home!"
"I heard you were supposed to be here for something tonight. I can drive your daughter home." Skeeter said, but Evelyn was nervous when she heard Skeeter mention that there were different types of the same plushies. This gave her the thought that she might not get the plushie that she won. Being lost in other plushies that everyone else might have lost. "Can I come with you?" Evelyn started to beg, but Skeeter wasn't allowed to take people in the areas that were off-limits to guests. "I don't kn-"
"Just do it. I don't have time." Mrs. Cox said, with impatience. "Can I come? I know what it looks like." Harper backed Evelyn up, as Skeeter felt overwhelmed. "We saw what the plushie looked like, too?" Jack said, as Gregory gave a simple nod. The problem... Gregory wanted to head home. His mother probably wanted him home by now, but now he felt roped into the situation, the same way that Skeeter felt roped in.
"Ok ok!" Skeeter took a deep breath, as he might get lectured by his boss, if some of the staff saw him with some kids. "Come on, Evelyn. The rest of you follow, if you know about the plushie. You better not waste my time." Skeeter continued, as the 4 kids followed him. Before they left, Mrs. Cox told her daughter that she will still in the Pizza Plex, but she expected that her cousin Skeeter took her and the other kids home. Skeeter tried to keep good on his word.
Gregory had his phone, as he gave a text to his mother that he was going to be late. His mother didn't reply at this text with suspicion, since she assumed he meant traffic.
The problem was that he didn't meant the traffic.
At the loading dock at the side of the Pizza Plex, a delivery worker was in the driver's seat of a large truck that was being finished unloading crates of various items, mostly scrap and supplies for the Pizza Plex. The driver, who was enjoying reading a risque men's magazine was admiring a centerfold, got interrupted as another worker tapped the door window. "Come on! We're wrapping it up for tonight. It's getting late." the worker said, as the driver made sure the truck doors in the rear were closed, before he drove the truck away from the loading dock.
The worker pressed a button that lowered the shutters to the loading dock, as he was checking the invoice on a clipboard. "Looks good. Time to clock in, boys. We are required to be out before this place gets closed completely." Unaware to some of the workers nearby, Vanny already managed to sneak in.
Another male worker was using the toilet in the staff restroom in a stall, as he heard someone open the door and walk in. "Connor, is that you? You seen the latest scores from the Cherry Bowl?" the worker waited for a response, but he couldn't peek under the stalls like a creep. "Connor?" Again, no reply. "Nevermind.."
The worker finished up, as he flushed the toilet and left the stall. He turned to see if anyone else was in the restroom, but he couldn't tell if there was anyone in the other stalls. He dismissed this, as he went to wash and dry his hands. When the restroom was completely empty, one of the stalls opened slightly, as Vanny peeked out. The rabbit mask of her costume already on her. "See anyone?" she asked Glitchtrap, as there was no one else. "If the door opens, dash back into the stall." Glitchtrap said, as Vanny stretched a bit, before slipping the rest of her costume on her in private.
Vanny let Glitchtrap look at her, as the eternal smile on her mask kept her happy. "Just like me. The way I like it."
"Wish I could see the real smile on your face, Glitchtrap."
"This is the real me you see, Vanny. The same applies to you. This... is what you were meant to be."
Vanny's costume was that of a white rabbit. A white rabbit with spaced out red eyes, small eyebrows, pair of long whiskers, and a creepy smile with buck teeth. As mentioned, the costume was stitched together, where there was a patch of pink tartan stretching across her left hip. The gloves and feet that were part of the costume had pink paw pads, where as a little extra detail, there was a small cottontail stub at her tailbone. A large blue bow was tied on her chest to add some extra color to her.
There were some extra modifications to her costume that she added in preparation, though Glitchtrap didn't really have a hand in it. Vanny had a thin white belt and holster that nearly blended in with the rest of her costume that could let her hold things. The holster was to have a large knife that she used as a weapon when practicing back in her apartment bedroom, along with a place to hold her stun gun and the zip ties on the side of her costume.
"First things first. We should try to find some victims." Vanny said, as she was wondering if it was safe to go out in the guests areas of the Pizza Plex, even though the staff might know she wasn't part of the actual entertainment. "How are we supposed to even know if there are any kids?"
"Maybe we can check the Play Palace. There still should be kids that are finishing up there, which we can take. Or how about the Lazer Tag m-"
"Shh!" Glitchtrap silenced Vanny. "Listen." Glitchtrap heard a conversation outside of the restroom. He directed Vanny to the door of the restroom, but only to eavesdrop without opening the door. In the crack of the door, the two can hear an argument with a mechanic and another worker.
"Skeet! You can't have kids over here!" a mechanic said to Skeeter, as the 4 kids were behind him. Evelyn was hiding behind his legs, while Harper was next to Evelyn, where the two boys were in the back. "Look, my cousin lost her plushie, so I need to go find it."
"What will Glover say to us when he learns that we're allowing kids here?"
"It wouldn't take long! We're heading over to the bin to get it back."
"We're supposed to leave, as we're ordered!"
"I wasn't late for work, so what I'm doing isn't being late either! It's called overtime, but let us be!" Skeeter said, trying not to curse in front of the kids. Vanny waited until there were no one in front of the restroom door, as she peeked out. Sure enough, she saw the kids following Skeeter at the end of the hallway, as they turned a corner. She looked to her other side to see the mechanic getting a keycard out, inserting it into a reader to unlock a door. Vanny immediately crept out, as the mechanic threw the door open as he walked inside. Just as the door was about to close, Vanny immediately made sure she wasn't locked out, as she was trying to tail the mechanic.
Soon, the Pizza Plex was in a strange world of it's own. The guests and attendees who swarmed the Pizza Plex had left, leaving behind an empty building in the middle of the night. However, several cars were parked outside, belonging to the executives and top workers of Fazbear Entertainment. The nightguards were stationed in their usual roles, while Jacob Peterson stayed behind to monitor them and the party that was happening on the third floor.
The robots and animatronics that stayed inside were left to rest, until they were given the chance to interact with the humans that saw them as different. But elsewhere, evil still lingered. Having snuck in or in the middle of a slumber.
Soon, the worst will come for those who stayed behind.
The mechanic that Vanny was tailing was currently in one of the warehouses with a catwalk that overlooked many aisles of crates. He was getting his toolbox all ready, as he was prepared to leave. The lights were dim, but he wasn't aware. It wasn't like there was anything dangerous, unless he knew what he was doing on the job.
However, this thought process was broken, as he heard...music? He recognized the tune of "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell. Where was that coming from? He looked at the office that was connected to the catwalk that was overlooking the warehouse, as well. Was there someone up there?
"Jacob? Jacob, is that you? I'm getting my stuff and leaving." he called out to whoever was up in the office, but he didn't hear a response. There was a sudden irk in his body, as he felt something wasn't right. Making sure he had his toolbox, he headed over to the set of metal stairs that were connected to the catwalk, as he went upstairs to the office to see who was upstairs.
"Jacob?" the mechanic entered the office, as his attention was drawn to the radio that was playing in the table in the middle of the room. Had he been more perceptive, he would could be able to look around the corner, as he entered the office. Or even hear the footsteps of Vanny as she was directly behind him. The moment the mechanic turned his neck, he felt a wave of electricity surge within him, as he blacked out. Collapsed and slumped against the table where the radio was, as Vanny checked his pockets. Sure enough, there was a keycard that could get Vanny access to more areas of the Pizza Plex.
"Tie him up and hide him."
"I think I can stash him into a crate or under a desk. Whatever can leave behind no trace." Vanny said, as she proceeded to drag the unconscious mechanic away somewhere where no one would notice. "We still have a problem. Those cameras might be an issue.."
"Didn't we walk past a server room?"
"We did, but that isn't going to be of much help."
"Don't worry, Glitchtrap. I think I know how this place works.. The actual mall is more of a maze than these maintenance hallways, but we're doing this blind, aren't we?"
Foster was giving some orders to some mechanics, who were stationed to remain in the Pizza Plex at night, due to the need to make some adjustments. Of course, everything can't go well on the first day. There was a report he was told by a maintenance man that Glamrock Chica's guitar was going out of sync, meaning that some adjustments had to be done to the instrument, where there was a plan to give her a replacement guitar. Another report was due to the old Music Man animatronic at the Melodies and Magic store. Some people and guests had viewed the animatronic unfavorably, due to it scaring young kids. The other problem with the animatronic was that it was in a poor state, even when it was started up, where it would break before the day ended.
Foster was aware that Music Man was salvaged from a fire, but it was too expensive to scrap. After letting the mechanics off to fix with today's issues, Foster went back upstairs to the RetroRama with the help of the elevator. Sure enough, there were more people at the party. He made sure to greet the Coxs, as they arrived. "Mr. and Mrs. Cox. Glad that you two can make it." Foster said, keeping up his friendly personality towards the two. "Hope we weren't late." Mrs. Cox said to him.
"Nonsense! You're just in time!"
"I didn't know you still had Coils the Clown?" Mr. Cox said, as Foster was trying to recall who Coils was.
"Coils?"
"The clown animatronic at the Wind Tunnel. When I was a teen, I would see him near the Ticket Pulverizer, getting us to jump up and down for tickets."
"That game was always chunky for maintenance. But we still kept the Wind Tunnel. Always, hope you two have a wonderful evening! Make sure to enjoy yourselves here tonight!" Foster said, as he saw Ethan Kalpack. He eyed him like a hawk, but his attention was too focused on him that he wasn't aware that Ethan's attorney Emma Ross was nowhere at the party.
"Foster?" a voice from Luke Richardson said to him, as his concertation was broken. "Oh! Mr. Richardson! I'm surprised that you had arrived here. I remember you telling me that you sent your workers here to get some hands-on experience with the Glamrocks for the next update for your game."
"Our AR Rental Service is still in modest numbers. With this Pizza Plex opening, we might be able to get higher sales without the need for marketing." Richardson said, as he sipped some red punch. "Excellent. I do recommend that you stay for the party. Even though your workers are unable to attend, I'm sure the Pizza Plex has managed to entertain them as we have intended." Foster said, as he let Richardson head off somewhere else, as Foster tried to mingle with Heather Myers, though the topics they discussed had lots of buzzwords on social media.
Even as the DJ got some tracks up to get people to mingle on the dance floor, Emma Ross was actually waiting for the Pizza Plex to be empty. Before Ethan went up to the RetroRama, he ended up at the maintenance areas, where he managed to snatch a screwdriver from a toolbox. Since he was a part of the company as a higher-up, no one would question why he was there, even though some asked him what he was doing. The screwdriver that Ethan gave to Ross was his present to her with the added request to do some sabotaging.
Ethan could only smirk, as Ross was hiding in a 2nd floor women's restroom in the mall area of the Pizza Plex, until she was given the all clear by Ethan from his phone.
Most notably at the RetroRama was the lack of Neal Bundy and Mason Gray. Gilmore told Foster that Bundy was unable to attend the party for a business meeting, while Gray refused to arrive for reasons unspecified.
Vanessa ended up at the Galactic Zone of the Pizza Plex, as the neon lights were looking more like the cosmos. "You see anything? There was a staff bot that was spazzing out at the lobby." Bruno radioed her, as she ended up in the lobby of the laser tag maze. A futuristic paradise of neon with cartoon cutouts of the Glamrocks in space suits and holding laser guns. Sure enough, there was a staff bot behind the registration desk that was meant to register the teams that were supposed to be in the arena. It was the same model as the rest of the staff bots, however it was wearing a fishbowl glass helmet to resemble that of an astronaut. It was shaking a bit, as Vanessa approached it. "I see it. Any way to fix it, or do I need to get a mechanic?"
"Price. Peterson here. Those staff bots stationed behind the desks are easy to fix." Peterson radioed her, as he was busy checking out the status of each of his nightguards to make sure they were really working. "How do I fix them?" Vanessa said, as the staff bot vibrated and shook. "They lack a lower body, since it's where their mechanisms are hidden. There is a shut-off switch at the base of each of them. For the ones on wheels, you do need to contact a mechanic or have them somewhere so a mechanic can repair them in the morning."
Vanessa made sure she wasn't whacked by the arms of the staff bot, as she crouched at the base of the staff bot, seeing a small lever. "The lever?"
"The lever. Yes."
Vanessa flipped the lever, as the staff bot immediately stopped, acting like a statue. "Now flip the lever again. The issue can be that it needs a soft restart." Peterson said, as she flipped the lever again. The staff bot reactivated, as it was back to it's original state. "Hello miss. The Laser Tag Maze is now closed." the staff bot said in a monotone voice, as Vanessa radioed the others back. "Staff bot has been resolved. How are the other animatronics?" Vanessa asked.
"We're at the Main Security Hub. The Glamrocks are still in their green rooms, but the others look alright. This might be more of a chill night than the-" Bruno wanted to say more, but suddenly Reed said something that got Peterson's attention.
"Hey, I think I just saw a bunch of kids go by?"
"What?" "Huh?" Bruno and Peterson said in the same time, as Bruno back in the Main Security Hub was looking at the monitor that Reed was pointing at. The kids and Skeeter were all the way in the core of maintenance, though they might have been lost on the first floor. "Jacob! There are some kids still in the Pizza Plex!" Bruno said, as the nightguards felt some tension. "Where are they? I need a location!" Peterson radioed, as Logan gave a response. "Are they in one of the wings?"
"There are in a staff hallway. Let me check the map for where the camera is, before-"
Reed wanted to say more, but suddenly..
Everything went dark.
Vanny stood in front of the main server room of the Pizza Plex. The flash drive was in her hands, as she saw the large server and server racks that was in the center of the room. "So, this is responsible for the power in the Pizza Plex, huh?"
"Looks like it. We're going in blind, but this is the time to do it now." Glitchtrap said, appearing next to Vanny, as she saw the terminal next to the server. "This must be the admin terminal. Going to need credentials, but that's expected."
"Your option to get around this?"
Vanny already had a possible idea on how to get the admin terminal unlocked, as she noticed a keycard reader near a stack of server racks. "I'm no master hacker, but I can activate the manual override procedure. This should disable the need for a password, but it might trigger a security alarm." Vanny said, as she used the keycard she swapped from the maintenance man to unlock the panel that was covered the server racks. "What exactly is this going to accomplish?"
"Our company has the same override. It's to prevent overheating in case of an emergency. It will get someone fired, if they let the servers overheat, but it happens if someone would to do this."
Vanny pulled a server rack out, as the lights in the room briefly went red. "WARNING. INTRUSION DETECTED. PLEASE INSERT SERVER." an announcement was heard in the room, as the temperature briefly went up. "The systems are becoming overheated. This can get me access to the terminal on an emergency mode."
"Hurry with this. Security is bound to come." Glitchtrap warned her, as she pulled out some more server racks. "This will do it!" "SYSTEMS OVERHEATING. ACTIVATE THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE, IMMEDIATELY." another announcement caused Vanny to check the terminal, as she was starting to feel the heat. "They're coming.."
Vanny saw that the terminal's security systems were overridden by the system itself, so that one can easily start the emergency procedure to cool off the servers. Vanny immediately inserted the flash drive, as she made sure to have the contents of the flash drive be downloaded into the servers. "This costume makes my fingers bigger than necessary for the keyboard.." Vanny remarked, as she was making sure every key she typed on the terminal counted, before she caused the servers to shut off. Then, the room and the whole building went dark.
"My code should be in the system now. But it will only work if we get the systems back on." Glitchtrap said, as Vanny made the glowing eyes of her mask weren't on. "Can you even see?" "Shh... I can hear them.." Vanny said, as she heard footsteps outside of the server room.
After the blackout, Jacob Peterson entered the main server room with his flashlight, as he was getting furious. "Great! Just ####ing great! Out of all possible weeks and at the most possible time, it just had to happen during the party!" Jacob slammed open the door, as he shined his flashlight around the pillars of server racks, unaware that someone could be hiding behind one of them. He saw the damage. It looked like someone tampered with the server racks, as some were pulled out. "This is Peterson! Who has been in the server room?!" Peterson radioed the other nightguards with his watch, as everyone checked in. "Server room? I'm in the Canyon. I was checking the amusement park 30 minutes ago to make sure there was no one in there." Bailey replied, as the others gave their responses.
"Vanessa here. I'm in the Galactic Zone, but I have been busy patrolling the main areas of the Pizza Plex. Not the staff only area."
"Bruno and Reed here. I was checking the monitors the whole time, while Reed was getting a drink. Some of the animatronics on the screen were spazzing out, so I sent Vanessa to check it out."
"No one has been in the server room?" Peterson asked, as he was pushed the server racks back in their correct position, where no one admitted it. "Give me your current locations again! The whole building is without power and there are going to be a bunch of pissed off executives who will have my head, until I can secure a possible evacuation, if technical issues keep happening!"
"I can still see. There is some back-up lighting in the laser tag maze lobby." Vanessa replied, as Bailey confirmed that he was staying in a safe area in Roxanne's Canyon. Both Bruno and Reed were staying together at the Security Hub to make sure none of the monitors got permanently broken. "Boss, all of our monitors are black. We need the security system back on." Bruno said, as Jacob made sure his flashlight still had power.
"Everyone stay still. I think I got things back together. I'm going to see if I can turns things back on." Jacob said, heading to the terminal to get the power back on. He held down the power button on the terminal to get it back on, where it glowed simple green words on the black screen.

Before the terminal can finally get itself back on, the screen started to flicker uncontrolledly, as the log-in credentials screen was a fuzzy mess of purple and black pixels, as the terminal gave an unholy noise. "The hell?"
"MANUAL REBOOT COMPLETE. WARNING. UNAUTHORIZED DAMAGE DETECTED. ERUF(FAHE(UF." the announcement that was being held, as the lights in the server room were going from dark to dim, was even glitching out. "SECURITY BREACH OVERRIDE INITATED. LOCKDOWN MODE WILL NOW BECOME ACTIVE."
"No no no no NO NO NO!" Jacob immediately realized that some sort of virus had infected the terminal, as he knew what exactly "lockdown mode" meant. The lockdown mode feature was built into the Pizza Plex's security system, as the means to serve as a protocol to prevent terrorist attacks and save civilians. The problem wasn't that it would lock in everyone who was present inside of the Pizza Plex, it would also lock said terrorist or even threat inside of the building. Made even worse as Jacob was unaware that there was an actual threat in the building.
Which was right behind him with a stun gun to zap him. It was good timing, as Jacob had just noticed the flash drive that was sticking out of the terminal input port, as he was mashing on the keyboard. Vanny plunged the stun gun into Jacob's neck, as the latter felt hundreds of volts course throughout his body in blissful pain. Vanny made sure to keep the stun gun shocking him for several seconds, before she allowed him to drop to the floor, as his body twitched, becoming incapacitated with the mind unconscious. Vanny made sure to get a zip tie for Jacob, as she restrained him with his hands behind his back, leaving him on the floor of the server room.
"There are more security guards somewhere..."
"We have little zip ties left. If the worst happens, you might have to start using the knife."
"You do know how to excite me sometimes, Glitchtrap.." Vanny said, checking the blade in her holster, as she let out a crazed laugh. Glitchtrap's eyes were glowing purple, as he had a clenched fist. "I can feel it. The code is spreading to nearly everything." Glitchtrap said, as he was able to sense where part of his code was spreading throughout the Pizza Plex. The benefits of this power was that he was able to easily know that Vanny was infected with the same code, albeit by different means.
"How much?"
"...I can tell that some of it is heading towards the animatronics, but I'm sensing something else. Something that is being infected remotely."
"How far can your code spread?"
"It doesn't just spread like the cloud. It can travel through wires. Charging ports. Nearly anything technological. Though depends on the software and technology, if my code becomes temporarily."
"Do you already have the anti-virus taken down?"
"There's a zero day flaw with their security measures, Vanny. It's being weaponized."
For the Glamrocks, it was like a piercing headache in their mechanical brains. All of them felt pain as the more they tried to fight it, the more it would hurt. This feeling would worsen, as their bodies were starting to be away from their control. As their eyes started to glow red, the Glamrocks would begin to succumb to the influence of Glitchtrap...
...For about 10 seconds.
Glamrock Chica immediately snapped out of it, as she was confused at what the feeling she just had was. "Freddy? Montgomery? Roxanne?"
What even was that?
Freddy snapped out of the same trance, as he noticed that the door of his green room was only partially open. Most likely due to technical issues from the blackout and Glitchtrap's code. Despite being in different rooms, both Freddy and Chica knew that something was wrong. Freddy was quick to lift the security door up, as he noticed the buttons to open the rest of the green rooms on the other side. The doors opened, as both Roxanne and Chica rushed out. "Guys, what's going on? Is this a jailbreak?" Roxanne asked, as she rubbed her head. "I'm not the only one who felt that. I think something's wrong!" Chica said, as Freddy agreed. "It's bad to be paranoid, but I don't think that was just a blackout.."
"Wait, where's Montgomery?" Roxanne said, as all three immediately checked his green room. He was standing there with his jaw open, as his eyes were glowing red. "Montgomery! Montgomery! Come on, snap out of it!" Freddy said, as he shook his fellow bassist out of the trance. "Huh, what!?" Montgomery's eyes went back to normal, as he looked around. "You ok?"
"What was that? I didn't know where I was for a second!" Montgomery said, actually concerned for a second as they were trying to make sense on what happened. "I don't know what's going on, but we need to get back out! Something is wrong here, and I'm not going to let things go worse!" Freddy gave the role of the leader, as he led the Glamrocks to the other side of the green room. "This is definitely a jailbreak. I think I want to head over to that golf course that you mentioned, Montgomery." Roxanne was more casual on the issue, unaware of the real danger happening. "Last time I went to the golf course, I sent a golf ball into a ceiling light."
"Guys, we can do golf later! For now, we need to see what's going on!" Freddy said, as Chica remembered about the nightguards that would visit the green rooms. "Maybe the same people who put us in those green rooms can tell us?" Chica said, though Freddy remembered Vanessa. "I think I know someone, but I don't know if they're here." Freddy explained, as the Glamrocks went on their quest to restore peace.
Sunrise wasn't the only one who nearly got in a trance. He was jolted awake, as he clutched his sun-shaped head for a moment, before the pain faded away. "Moondrop? I think I had a bad dream? Moondrop?" Sunrise looked around, as his very best friend (which was what his programming had described Moondrop) was nowhere near where Sunrise was deactivated. "Moondrop?" Sunrise wandered out of his cuddy, as the indoor jungle gym was still dark. The stars on the walls glowed yellow, as the slides and ball pits were untouched. "Moondrop?" Sunrise said, as he can hear him walking around a corner of a playground structure, as Moondrop's hands were hanging lifelessly on his sides. His eyes were a bright red, as he looked at Sunrise. His smile was still frozen, as he walked closer to him. "Moondrop, are you ok? I had a bad dream. I was wondering if you could help me sleep. To give me good dreams. You always were the moon in the night sky."
Moondrop didn't say anything. He grabbed Sunrise's left hand, as he started to tug him. "Are we going somew-" Sunrise didn't even finish speaking, as Moondrop suddenly proceeded to rip Sunrise's robotic arm off his body. Several ripped wires and other circuitry were seen from his wound, as Sunrise looked at his torn arm and at Moondrop. For Sunrise, but there were some things that he felt.
"Moondrop...? Why are you hurting me?"
Moondrop did say something in response. A shriek. A shriek animalistic enough to scare kids into nightmares, as he lunged at Sunrise. Sunrise wasn't aware enough to feel pain, but he knew that Moondrop was hurting him. The lack of pain was probably for the best, as Moondrop proceeded to rip Sunrise apart with his metal claws. Sunrise fell to the cushioned floor with the sound of a scream, as a laugh started to leave Moondrop's voice box, while the latter was tearing his best friend to shreds.
Author's Notes:
(For immersion: Play "I Can't Feel Anything" by Sweet Tuesday.)
Fun Fact: I originally intended to kill off Sunrise on this chapter in the story, but I noted how popular he was getting from the latest trailer. So don't worry about our buddy Sunrise!
For Moondrop... he seems to have some homicidal tendencies, but I'm sure it's not due to a digital ghost possessing him!
In the next chapter, we get the reactions of those in the RetroRama, we see how Gregory and his friends get into some trouble, how Vanessa reacts, how #### hits the fan hard, and Vanny tries to be a good hare.
The rabbit hole is turning into a sinkhole and those who survive falling in must face off against insanity.
Consider this chapter a gift before Halloween. May the horrors of All Hallow's Eve come forth. Hope you aren't feeling LORIC or DORCELESSNESS. Hope that Felix will finally pick up that phone.
And how about...
Another teaser!
The mall section of the Pizza Plex was dim, as Gregory walked past the shadowy glass storefront windows. Some of them contained mannequins that unnerved him. It was almost like they were watching him. There were an empty Glamrock Freddy plastic mug-like toy on top of a trash can, as Gregory looked around. He knew that he was not supposed to be here, but wasn't there janitors? He never been lonely before, but the whole building felt desolated. A surreal feeling only lingered the more Gregory was starting to reminiscence.
What didn't help was that Gregory was already lost. Things looked different at night, as his surroundings felt unknown to him. He did see what appeared to be a small set of stairs that led to the upper level of the mall. He was on the elevator, so maybe his friends were still upstairs in that maintenance area. He went up the stairs, not using the escalator, since it was without any power, as he looked around for a door that could lead him back to the staff areas.
It wasn't until he heard something. A voice. A voice that was behind him that sent a shiver down his spine.
"Hello?"
Cautiously, he turned around. There was a rabbit there. Not an actual rabbit, but a humanoid one. It rested a paw on a support pillar near the ledge, as it was looking at Gregory. There was a creepy smile from the face of the rabbit, as Gregory didn't know where it came from.
"Hello? Who..? Who are you?" Gregory took a step back from the strange bunny that was front of him. He thought it was some statue, but it...talked?
"I didn't mean to scare you. I only wanted to come out and play, but I noticed you were alone. My name is Vanny." the rabbit spoke in a robotic voice that sounded almost human, due to how softly spoken she sounded.
