What up fans! Sorry for taking so long because I still don't have the access to Microsoft Office and I can't tell you a secret because it's classified. Anyway, here's your favorite character, Sasha that features her story in the same way, but with her point of view. Please enjoy!
Amphibia: Calamity War
Chapter 5: Turning Point
Meanwhile back in Amphibia as they sky changed from night into morning. In a place called Wartwood, everyone had witnessed from that night when the castle is floating up into the sky wondering what has happened to Anne and her friends. And that's when they woke up as they gathered around to see what's up there.
"Look, what's that up in the sky?" One of the frogs point out.
IT turns out that Joe Sparrow has landed right in front of them. Sasha and Grime got off from Joe Sparrow. The whole town didn't realize that Anne and her friends are with them. They were wondering where she's at as they walked closer to them
"What in the frog was going on?" Mrs. Croaker confused.
"Why are you two here?" Stumpy added.
"Is it just me or palace is flying?" Leopold asked.
"Where's the Plantars? Where's Anne?" asked Felicia worried.
"Where's Sprig?" Ivy demanded.
Sasha knew that these frogs doesn't trust her and Grime at first since the Toad Tower incident. She was afraid that the whole town will chase her and Grime out from Wartwood for good.
"What do we tell them?" Sasha whispered.
"The truth, that's for sure." Grime whispered. Then he decided that he should tell them if they would listen to him.
"People of Wartwood, we have terrible news. The king has turned out to be a ruthless tyrant of unspeakable power!"
The crowd gasp horrified. They couldn't believe that their king has been corrupted this whole time. Even Mrs. Croaker was mad for that part.
"Well, I never voted for him." Mrs. Croaker commented.
"And the Plantars had to go on a daring mission, but they sent us to protect your fine frogs in the meantime." He finished his sentence. "Right Sasha?"
"There's no way they're gonna trust us just because we name-dropped Anne." Sasha whispered to Grime.
"Not with that attitude." Grime whispered back.
"Oh, what a relief." said Mrs. Croaker.
Sasha and Grime are looking at her which turns out that these folks are really calm instead of ranting.
"Classical. Always looking out for us." Stumpy commented.
"Wow, that's a wonderful." said Mayor Toadstool walked up to Sasha and shake her hands with him. "Rest easy tonight folks, because Anne's best friend is here to watch over us!"
The crowds were cheered. Sasha couldn't believe that it actually, but she's smiling nervously in case her secret is out and her expression changed to sad since yesterday. Later that evening, Sasha and Grime heading straight to the Plantars House. They open door and see that this house was once empty. Grime set his war hammer down inside the bucket.
"Okay, law low here and then in a day or two, we'll ditch this crummy town." said Grime leaving Sasha stood still. "Dibs on Hop Pop's bed!"
Sasha was hesitated to step inside through the door ever since some freak incident. She remembers that time when she and Grime are invited for dinner by Anne, Marcy, and the Plantars, but it didn't end well when she almost loose her temper and had an argument. Then the chocolate dessert has wrecked the house by growth and unleashing some hornets until the end, they managed to defeat the hornets and already repair their house. Sasha took a step back. Grime was staring at her confused.
"You gonna come in or just stand there and be weird?" Grime asked.
"I-I think I'll sleep in the barn." Sasha suggested.
Grime just shrugged and closed the door. He burst the door open to Hop Pop's room and he jumped right into Hop Pop's bed, but broke when he's too heavy. Then he picked up the book from the nightstand and look through some page.
"Now that is a big potato."
Meanwhile from the outside, Sasha walked straight to the barn where snails are. Once she opens door, she didn't expect to see a small snail known as MicroAngelo, who's chirped Sasha.
"Oh, a tiny snail."
Then she sees a big snail, Bessie who's chirped at her as well.
"And a bigger snail." Sasha opens the the fence door and walked past them. "Well don't mind me, I'm gonna go sleep in the corner with the rest of the trash."
She walked over to the pile of hays and lie down on flatly. She was exhausted from all the trouble she's been through.
"It's all someone like me deserves." Sasha gloomily when covered herself by some hays to get some sleep.
The next morning when the sun is rising, Sasha is sleeping peacefully with Bessie and MicroAngelo. But suddenly, the door bursts startling Sasha from her slumber with her messy hair and went panic.
"Who is it? Where am I? Of course this is my natural hair color!"
But it turns out that it was Grime who burst the door open holding her breakfast meal.
"Rise and shine! I made worm waffles!" Grime announced when showing his lieutenant to her waffles with a smiling face, but with worms on it as the berries spilling. She doesn't feel like she's hungry right now.
"I'm not hungry." Sasha grumbled.
"Look, I get you feel guilty about tricking your friends and inadvertently helping the king get the music box, but you've got to get a hold of yourself." said Grime when he ate the waffles and tossed the plate out smashing.
"Clearly, we need to be in fighting shape if we're going to take down Andrias and-" His words cut off when they heard a honking sound. "What's that sound?"
The door bursts open when both Sasha and Grime carrying their weapons ready to attack whenever there's trouble. But it turns out that it was Mrs. Croaker holding her pie with her little pet spider, Archie and her giant lady bug are standing by the Plantars house.
"Woo, I love an enthusiastic welcome." said Mrs. Croaker as she walked over to them.
"I just wanted to thank you again for watching over the town."
Sasha recalled that moment and cringed that she hates lying to her and some townsfolk. Grime gently took the pie from Mrs. Croaker.
"Oh, poison bug. Gonna go inside and heat this bad boy up." said Grime as went back inside the house.
Sasha is staring at Mrs. Croaker holding Archie as she walks over to her giant lady bug.
"I wasn't sure about those two, Archie, but they turned out to be good eggs." said Mrs. Croaker talking to her pet spider.
Sasha sighed. She felt she regretted for putting her in danger back at the tower. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice.
"Yoo hoo!"
"Oh no."
That voice turns out to be One-Eyed Wally who's playing his concertina tipping his toes right next to Sasha. She remembers this frog that purposely blowing up the tower. Once he stops playing music, he looked at Sasha smiling.
"Ha, any friends of Anne is a friend of mine." said Wally.
"That's touching." replied Sasha. "Look, I gotta go-"
"Yes, she taught me many lessons. Showing me importance of honesty. Being true to yourself. The meaning of friendship. I've been working on a song about it!"
He was about to sing a song, but was interrupted by Sasha by lifting her finger.
"Nope. Can't right now. Very busy protecting the town for Anne and stuff." Sasha pushed Wally away so that she can give herself a personnel space. Once he's gone, she groaned. She was a little bit annoyed that she can't lied to any folks any longer.
"I swear, if one more country pumpkin-"
Her words were cut off by a poof a magic startling at Sasha, which turns out that Maddie is carrying some breads. Sasha didn't know that there's magic in this world.
"Free bread, anyone?" Maddie offered, but Sasha can't stand this.
"(groan) Get away from me!" Sasha ran to the barn leaving Maddie confused.
"Don't want the extra carbs, eh? I get it." said Maddie as he tossed a small bag as he poofs away with her magic and disappear.
Sasha set her swords down and is walk over to Bessie is eating her meal. while MircoAngelo is sleeping on top of Bessie's shell. Sasha sits down and hugged her knees. She didn't know what to do. But then, Grime came in by open the door holding a message bat.
"Good news, I got a message from Beatrix." said Grime as the bat open its wings and Grime take the letter from the bats mouth and read the paper.
"She's hiding underground with the toads that avoided capture. They've got weapons, soldiers, and fortification. We've got to join her."
Sasha was still sitting as she stares at Grime, but not in a good mood for a moment.
"Why? So we can come up with another cruddy plan that fails and ends up hurting the people we love?" Sasha exclaimed.
"Hmm, no need to be a down." Grime muttered then looked at a bat. "You want another strawberry, little guy? Yes, you do."
"Look, I don't know. Maybe we're doing this all wrong." Sasha suggested.
But suddenly, she heard a crash commotion and started to get annoyed believing that there are more townsfolks approaching the farm.
"Ugh! What is it this time?!" Sasha complained when she opens the barn doors. "Look, just the muffins or cake or whatever else you...oh?"
She didn't expect to see when there's only one Frog-Bot standing while scanning the Plantars house to see there's any lifeform, however there's no one inside. As its turns around, it spotted both Sasha and Grime knowing that it found them with eyes glowing.
"They must have tracked us here." said Sasha.
"Go for the legs!" Grime ordered.
They both know that they have to destroy it before the whole towns sees it. The Frog-Bot started to shoot plasmas at Sasha, but dodged the attack as she ran to the robot, draw her sword out as she slides under the robot by slicing off its legs. The Frog-Bot turned its heads around and falls off from its legs as it lands on the ground. Grime was about to finish this robot off by using his war hammer, but it quickly to call out reinforcement.
"Sending reinforcements."
Grime smashed his hammer down at the robots' head to cut off the signal before anything else reaches it. He lifts the hammer knowing that it's already too late.
"Dang thing was calling for help. There's probably a whole army of them on their way now." said Grime. "Let's pack up. We're getting out of here."
"What? We can't leave these frogs to face them on their own. What about that old lady who gave us a pie?" Sasha shocked.
"Lieutenant, these pumpkins will only slow us down and I'm being honest that pie crust was soggy. I know it's harsh, but Wartwood is done for! We need to rejoin our forces and make plans for the coming war." Grime finished his sentenced as he walked pass by his lieutenant.
Sasha couldn't believe what Grime just said. She started to think about Wartwood. What if the frog is in danger? Is she going to sit there and let them be captured by the king's army? She hasn't thought about it yet, but then she has made her decision.
"No. Enough with the plans and the schemes. I'm done."
"What?!" Grime shocked. "But you love schemes! Lies, manipulation, backstabbing, it's like your thing. Since when did you cared?"
Sasha recalled at that moment ever since the toad rebellion. She recalls what Anne had just said. There's something changed inside Sasha. Something that's changed her mind.
"Since I saw the consequences." Sasha answered quietly.
"(sigh) Listen lieutenant, whatever you're dealing with, you need to confront it! Go into that house, face what burdens you, and when you've got your head back on straight, come join me. Please." said Grime as he told her to clear her mind off and walked away from her.
Once he walked away, Sasha looked at the Plantars house and decided that she should head inside. She walked through the door and went down to the basement where Anne usually sleeps. She looked around to see her stuff is still here laying around the floor like Anne's outfit for the concert, Sprig's homemade stuffed animal, her magazines, her tennis racket, and most of her stuff that was left behind whenever she likes to come back later.
However, things don't go so well since the betrayals. Sasha was surprised that Anne has been through many adventures while Sasha was with the toads. She looked down at the journal that belongs to Anne. She picked it up and open some pages until she reaches to the part where it shows her with Anne and Marcy wearing their fancy outfits for "The Battle of Bands" and started to read.
"Sasha, Marcy, and I are finally together. And you know what? It's AWESOME! Tomorrow, we head to Newtopia, and after that, I think we're actually going home! I'm so happy I trusted Sasha again. I always knew, even after everything that happened, we'd work it out."
Sasha keeps reading as she started to remember from the concert, the toad rebellion, Andrias betrayal, and most of all, she lost both of her friends. Again. She started to cry when tears shed. Now she finally comes to realize what Anne said back at the castle. She realizes her mistake.
She regrets everything for what she has done by ditching school on Anne's birthday, dared Anne to steal the box, trapping all of the frogs at the tower, nearly kills Anne's friends, and invading Newtopia leading the toads. She felt like a villain who feared she is. A traitor. She has lost everything. Her closest friends. She closed the journal and looked down at the ground.
"Oh, Anne, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have tried so hard to be in control again. In the end, where did it get me?"
She closed her eyes while tears shedding. Thinking about her friends. Her past. Sasha clenched her fist. She knew what must be done is to redeemed herself. Then she opens her eyes with tears
"Well, that ends now! I wanted to be someone better. Someone that deserves you." She wiped her tears. Then she decided what must be done. "I know what I have to do."
Few hours later by the sunset, Sasha has gathered all of the frogs at the entrance when she made an announcement. She knows what she's doing by telling them the truth.
"Listen up, everyone. I called you all here to tell you that..." Sasha paused for a moment when she prayed that she's ready to tell them the truth.
"A robot army is on its way to destroy Wartwood!"
The crowd gasps horrified.
"What? An army?" Leopold confused.
"How many are we talking about?" Stumpy confused too.
"What's a robot." Mrs. Croaker asked.
"And that's not all, I lied to you about Anne sending us to protect the town. She's been zapped to another world that no has idea I'm even here. I'm no guardian, I'm a fraud."
The crowd gasps. They couldn't believe that they've been lied this whole time. But Sasha continues her speech.
"Fraud or not though, I'm gonna do the right thing for once in my life. With my last breath." Then she draws her sword out to raise up high. "I'm gonna defend this town!"
Once she's finished her speech, but suddenly a giant object fell out from the sky and landed right in front of the town startling Sasha and the whole town. They gasped.
"Whoa, nelly!" exclaimed Wally.
"Present." said the little frog girl.
"Shut up, Nelly." Mrs. Croaker snapped.
The giant object was turned out to be a giant Frog-Bot when it transformed. It was really huge like a size of a troll. Sasha walked closer as she ready to face a giant Frog-Bot alone.
"Only one? Honestly that doesn't seem that bad." Sasha smirked.
She spoke too soon when the giant robot is hatching out some small robot frogs that resembles to some tadpoles. Sasha didn't expect that the giant robot released the tadpole robots.
"Of course."
Sasha charged as she face to attack the robots. She effectively slashing out some robot tadpoles with oil spills. It was too easy to take out some robot tadpoles, but not for long. They grabbed Sasha as they wrapped around her when she tried to get free, but it's no use. She's easily outnumbered. The giant robot opens its chest to pull out a cannon to prepare for fire. Sasha was shocked. She has nowhere to go.
"Oh no."
Once the giant robot launched the missile where it shoots straight at Sasha, but then Grime showed up and swung it hard by his hammer like a baseball as he hit the missile out to the sky and blows it up. Sasha couldn't believe that Grime has come back for her.
"Sorry, I'm late." said Grime.
"Grimesy!" Sasha smiled.
"I got to thinking, Beatrix may have weapons and soldiers, but you know what she doesn't have?" Grime raised his war hammer to free Sasha by smashing some robot tadpoles. He looked at Sasha as he smiles softly.
"You, lieutenant."
"Grimesy, you big softy!" Sasha gave him a hug and rubbing his head.
But the fight is not over yet when the giant robot is releasing more robot tadpoles and lands right in front of both Sasha and Grime. They are ready to fight, together.
"Thirty against two, eh?" said Grime.
"Hardly a fair fight." Sasha commented.
Then suddenly, Mrs. Croaker jumps up and ready to attack by smashing one of the robot tadpoles head. The robot tadpole was damaged once she lands.
"Die, robot scum!" Mrs. Croaker taunted.
Archie shows up and spits acid at the robot tadpole when melted away. Archie jumped to his owner hugged the elder frog.
"Good boy."
"What the?" confused Sasha.
"Oy! Back er' off!"
One-Eyed Wally ran past them using his concertina beat up some robot tadpoles. Then Mayor Toadstool came in and smash some robots by using his strength. Leopold jumped onto one the robot and took an eye out from the robot. Maddie shows up tossing her bags of magic by turning the robots into something like a rubber ducky and a clock. Even Ivy and her mother joined the fight by kicking the robots. Sasha couldn't believe that the frogs are helping out.
"No way? The townspeople?" Sasha stunned.
"By Barrel's belly! They're deadlier than any soldiers." Grime added.
By the time the townspeople have taken out any more robots, the giant robot stands up and raised its arm to fire at them. Sasha and Grime ran past them to take out the giant.
"Grime!"
"Way ahead of you!"
They both charged at the giant robot as it locked on both of them.
"Target locked on!"
The giant robot launched two missiles, but they dodged the attack as the missiles is locking on them when split up.
"Those blasted things are following us!" Grime exclaimed.
"Then let's lead them in the right direction." Sasha suggested.
She grabbed the tree and swung around following by the missile. Grime spit his tongue out that the rubble and spin around as the missile follows him. They are running towards the giant robot and jumped onto it by the time the missile strike on the giant robot leaving a badly damaged once it fell flatly to ground. Sasha and Grime stood on top of the giant robots back. The head pops off when Leopold ripped off an eye screaming.
"Think you're enjoying this too much." said Mrs. Croaker crossing her arms.
Sasha and Grime got off the damaged giant frog-bot and sat down exhausted. The frogs are smiling warmly at her.
"Wow, I don't...I don't know what to say." said Sasha.
"You said enough, dearie." Mrs. Croaker comfort her.
"You may have been a terrible person, Sasha." Maddie added. "But you were honest with us when you didn't have to be."
"And taking those robots alone to protect us frogs?" Ivy added.
"It really is something I would have done." Wally added.
"Thanks, you guys. You can count on me, for real this time." said Sasha once she stood up.
The crowds were cheering for her. She was so proud of herself for doing the right thing.
"So, what happens now?" Mrs. Croaker asked.
Sasha has never been asked by an elder frog. She never been asked so kindly since defending this town. She looked at Grime as he nodded at her. Then she smiled. It is time to put the past behind her. Her manipulation and her dark deeds are done. It is time for her to be a better person that she always wanted to be.
"We start fighting back."
Good news and bad news. Good news is that I still have enough time to upload on DeviantArt and publish here in no time. Bad news is that I'm still working in progress to go through this if I have enough time before Christmas. Stay tuned for more chapter!
