Chapter 6: The New Normal
Meanwhile back on Earth when the sun rises by morning. Anne changed her clothes as she tiredly went to the bathroom to take out her toothpaste, but suddenly her mom stood right next to Anne.
"Looking for this?" her mom asked holding a toothbrush startling Anne squeezing her toothpaste with eyes wide open.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" Anne screamed startling the birds from the outside.
She storms out from the bathroom when ticked off. Anne can't take this pressure anymore.
"But it's safer to go in pairs" her mother suggested.
"Emergency family meeting! Major boundary violation!" Anne hollered.
"Family? Should we come too? Also, do you have any more of these candy bars?" Sprig asked holding out a lipstick mistakenly as candy bar.
Few minutes later when her parents and the Plantars are sitting on the couch, however her parents were not pleased with their daughter while the Plantars were concerned about this.
"Mom, dad, I'm really happy to be home. I know it's a big deal while I was gone for so long and I get that it's scary to think about losing me again. But I need a little bit of space or I'm gonna lose my mind. You guys are being way too overprotective." Anne complained.
"Anne, I think you're exaggerating. This is a big house. We all have plenty of space to breathe." Her father replied when he felt Polly is kicking his head, but not too hard.
"Oops! Sorry! Just practicing my jump kicks." Polly apologized when she tries to kick, but falls off.
"Ok, I'm listening." Mr. Boonchuy gives in.
"We're tired of being shut up inside. Let me and the Plantars go out. Just for an hour. I'll take care of them and we won't go far." Anne suggested while the Plantars walk next to her when they are showing their adorable faces, but her parents refused.
"Absolutely not." Mrs. Boonchuy declined.
"Oh, c'mon! I can't go out alone for an hour?" Anne complained.
"Last time you went out alone, you got trapped in another world for five months." Mr. Boonchuy reminded his daughter sternly.
"That is a pretty good point." Sprig commented.
"Shush!" snapped Anne.
"Look, your father and I have to go to the market. We'll talk later." said Mrs. Boonchuy.
Her parents got off the couch as they walked to the door, but Anne and the Plantars cut right in front of them.
"That's perfect! Let us come." Anne suggested.
Her parents give her a disapproved look. Anne knows what she's doing.
"I know what you're gonna say, we can't take the Plantars out in public. But the market's always empty except for a few old people. Plus, I'll make them disguises and take full responsibility for their safety."
"You think you can take care of the whole family?" Mrs. Boonchuy chuckled.
"No offense, Anne, but you're the literal poster child for hating responsibility. Just look at what you drew as a kid." said Mr. Boonchuy when he reminded his daughter by showing a drawing of Anne at age 6 is shown, with a phrase that says "I HATE responsibility".
"OK, yes, but I changed." Anne admits it.
"Look, I'm a parent too, and I know how Anne used to be. So trust me, I get it." said Hop Pop.
"Not helping."
"But she grew into a town protector. A hero, voted Frog of the Year by frogs who used to hate her. Were there bumps in the road? Sure. Did she burn the town down once? Yeah. Did she almost get us eaten by a large creature numerous time? Also, yes. Did she-?" He paused his sentence when he forgot something else to say. "Emm... What was I saying?"
"The old one's got a point." Mr. Boonchuy agreed. "Ever since she got back, she has seemed... a little more mature."
"She used to beg me not to take her to market." Mrs. Boonchuy added.
They looked at Anne when she's talking to the Plantars. Nobody mentioned about how she changed. Truly she used to be so selfish and rebelled when she hates following the rules and some responsibility for over 8 years. But now when she got back home from Amphibia, she really changes as a mature. Her parents thought about it first, but then they were finally convinced.
"Okay, Anne." Her father cleared his throat.
"Huh?"
"We're willing to give them a try." Her father admits.
"But you stay with us at all times. And if something goes wrong, it's back to lockdown." Her mother warned her.
Anne couldn't believe it. Her parents finally convinced. She ran up to hug them cheerfully.
"Thank you so much! I promise you won't regret it."
Anne let go of their hug and she grabs the Plantars as they run upstairs to her room. She set them down and sat on her bed.
"Okay, this is gonna be a cinch. Earth is a cakewalk compared to Amphibia."
"Woahhaha. Really?" Sprig asked playfully spinning on her wheelchair, but Anne stops him.
"Yeah, dude. The bugs are tiny, the birds are small, and best of all, nothing's gonna be trying to kill us for a change."
Meanwhile in Newtopia, there was a rain when it's all dark and gloomy. Most of the Frog-Bots are guarding the flying castle to make sure nothing gets passed them. Inside of the throne when it's all too dark, King Andrias is talking to something alone in the throne room.
"My plans are mobilized, our forces grow. And soon we will be ready to invade. There is only one thing left that can stand in the way of me and my conquest... Anne Boonchuy."
He touched the music box by pushing the hidden button where it shows a picture of Anne and Sprig smiling. He snaps his finger when a robot landed, but with a different appearance with much taller and skinnier with a creepy smile known as the Cloak-Bot.
"She must be eliminated. That is your goal."
The Cloak-Bot creepily laughed while its scanning on the blue gem power to track Anne on Earth.
"This mission requires the utmost discretion. We cannot let other worlds know about the coming invasion. Make sure no Earthlings see you."
"Acquired energy signature."
King Andrias uses the Calamity Box to open a portal that leads to Earth. The Cloak-Bot was about to walks towards the portal, but he intercepts it.
"And one more thing."
The Cloak-Bot looked at him curiously.
"Would you mind picking me up the latest Cynthia Coven's latest book? Marcy got me hooked and I'm dying to know what happens. And maybe one of those... potato chip things she had."
"Eliminate... potato chip?"
"Ok, forget the chips. Kill the girl, get the book."
The Cloak-Bot goes through the portal. Then Andrias closed the portal and then the power is returned to the box. His plan was to eliminate the girl before she's going to warn her and other worlds. He knew that she cannot be allowed to warn them.
"Well, Marcy, your friends are about to be eliminated from the equation. And as for you my dear... your part is just the beginning."
He looked at Marcy was now inside of the green rejuvenation tank wearing her greyish jumpsuit that connects to the cables that's keeping her alive. She was in a state coma floating ever since he stabbed her in the process, but the only reason why chose her to keep her alive so that he might have something for her.
Back on Earth, a stray cat was licking its paw, but suddenly the cat was startled when ran off. The Cloak-Bot approached from the portal standing in alley. It scanning the whole area to pick up blue power.
"Target acquired. Activating stealth mode."
The Cloak-Bot now becomes invisible and begins to jump, causing a car to break, and scare a pigeon off a cable as it went to hunt the girl down.
Meanwhile at Mickey's House, Pluto burst out from the door when Mickey opens it as he barks cheerfully.
"Ruff! Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!"
"Pluto! Slow down, Boy!" Mickey hollered as he closes the door behind him.
"Ruff! Ruff!"
Pluto panting as tries to hop into Mickey's car until the door is unlock. Mickey opens the door to let Pluto in as he got into to his drivers' seats. He turned on the engine and drove away from the house.
"I know that you're anxious, but we gotta stop by and picked up Donald and Goofy."
He parked by Donald's boat. He walked straight to the door and ring the doorbell. Then door opens by Donald along with Goofy.
"Morning, Mickey." Goofy greeted.
"Good morning." Donald greeted.
"Morning Donald, Goofy." Mickey greeted. "You guys ready to go?"
"You betcha." Donald answered.
"Ready than ever." Goofy added.
"Great! Let's go."
Donald closed the door behind them and walked straight to Mickey's car as they got in to the backseat. Mickey droves away as they drove from neighbors to downtown.
"Thanks for coming with me, fellas. We all know that both Minnie and Daisy are working at the Boutique." Mickey thanked them.
"Aw shucks, it's what friends do." said Goofy "Right, Donald."
"Uh huh." Donald answered.
"So, where are we heading?"
"I was thinking that we should stop by for a visit and check on Anne to see how she's doing." Mickey answered.
"So, how'd it go?" Donald asked.
"It was great. You should've seen her reunion with her parents and the Plantars properly introduced themselves."
"So how was it?" Goofy asked.
"Well, her parents were complete shocked at first, but in the end, they seemed to be oaky with it. But we were told that we should keep each everything a secret so that they won't get caught by the authorities."
"You mean the police?" Goofy asked
"Yep, but don't worry. As long as they're safe, there's nothing to be worried about."
"Do you know where we're going?" Donald asked.
"Of course, Minnie and I been there twice and I know for a shortcut."
They drove to the tunnel that leads them to Los Angeles.
Meanwhile back at the Boonchuys residence, Anne is deciding what clothes the Plantars will be dressed in where it shows both Sprig and Polly dressed up in some yellow clothes.
"See? You can absolutely use my childhood clothes to dress up." said Anne.
"You really liked yellow as a child, eh? Won't it make us stand out?" Sprig asked.
"Sprig, I'm sure Anne knows what she's talking about." said Hop Pop as he comes out of the closet only wearing yellow overall pants resembling to a jumpsuit headband as he jumps scared at his grandkids.
"What? If you have them, show skins."
"Actually, let's try something else!" said Anne disgusted by his appearance.
Anne puts Sprig a long coat, Polly puts on a hat, and to finish the costume for Hop Pop, as she makes him a false nose with a piece of clay and put two holes by a pencil. Hop Pop wears a trench coat, fedora hat, fake glasses, and a fake nose.
"There, that should suffice." said Anne.
"I like it. My own facial bump." Hop Pop impressed.
"Hey hey! Look at me! I am a human!" Sprig claimed himself when he's wearing a coat and a hat while Polly walks at the bottom as they struggled to balance.
"Wait, Polly. You are supposed to be the top half." Anne recalled.
"And not being able to wear these beautiful legs? NEVER!" Polly denied.
"It is reasonable. Now, who is ready to see my world?"
The Plantars get excited, so they jump to victory, but they cause a disaster in the room when they pushed her bookshelves as it fell and broke the window. Anne cringed for that moment.
"OK, but no more victory jumps."
Later on, Anne and her family exit through the door and walked towards to the car. While her parents got into their vehicle, Anne open the door to the backseat for the Plantars so that they can hop in and Anne followed them in as she closed the back door.
Her dad turned on the engine and looked back at her and the Plantars.
"Is everyone buckled?"
Anne buckled herself up and gives him a thumbs up. Hop Pop buckled himself too when he felt like its perfectly. Sprig buckled him and Polly up as well.
"Alright, now we're off."
Anne and the Plantars cheers as they reversed and drove away from their house. Once they left like around ten seconds, Mickey and his pals has arrived when they didn't know that they're still here.
"Well, here are." Mickey announced.
"So, this is where she lives, huh?" Goofy asked.
"Yep, that's her house alright."
They got out from the vehicle and walked towards to the door. Mickey looked back at his friends.
"Remember gang, let's be on our best behavior." Mickey reminded both Donald and Goofy when they nodded.
Mickey rang the doorbell as they waited for them to open the door. It was all too quiet at first, but with some birds. They waited patiently for the door to open. Mickey looked at his watch for second and looked straight back at the door. Donald is tapping his foot as he waited. Then the silence broke when he realizes that nobody was home.
"Well, I guess they're not here then. Maybe they went to the grocery store." Mickey thought at first.
Suddenly, they heard a crash that caused the alarm goes off as they got attention.
"What was that?" Mickey confused.
"Sounds like a car crash." Goofy suggested.
They walked out from the patio to see his car is okay, but it turns out that his car is perfectly fine. He sighed in relief.
"Well, thank goodness that my car was not crashed." Mickey reliefed.
"Then whose car was it?" Donald asked.
Then they heard someone's complaining and they looked at the neighbor frantic at his car.
"No, no, no! Not my car!" Said the man complained.
While they're staring at the incident, something moved slowly once it reach to the grass, but when the sprinkling was on, the water is showing what its all turned out to be a tallest frog-bot in camouflaged. Mickey noticed that when it's all invisible before the invisible frog-bot jumped away from them as it hop throughout the neighbor. Mickey has never seen something like this before and he started to get suspicious. His pals noticed that look.
"What is it, Mickey?" Donald asked curiously.
"Something's wrong here." Mickey replied.
He pulled out his phone and tapped on the app that detect something that is metal, then he looked at his phone showing the red dot on the map while green ones are the owners. He started to think on how or where did it come from. Donald and Goofy overlooked at Mickey's phone.
"What's that?" Goofy curious.
"There's somethings going on here. Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
"Uh, could it be something spooky?"
"Was it a ghost?" Donald asked.
"Not likely, but whatever it was, we have to follow it." Mickey suggested.
"How come?"
"Donald, there hasn't been an anomaly for almost seven years, but right until now."
"So, where's it going?" Goofy wondered.
"I don't know, but there's only one way to find out. Come on."
They got back into the vehicle and drove away from the neighbors to follow an anomaly.
Few minutes later, The Boonchuys and the Plantars come to market as they parked the car. Anne and the Plantars get excited about showing them to the market, but Mr. Boonchuy locks the doors to reminded them.
"Not so fast, you three." He paused for a moment. "I mean... you four."
"We'll stick together in there, understood?" Mrs. Boonchuy reminded them.
"And if anything goes wrong, back to the confinement." Mr. Boonchuy added.
"We got it. We got it. Now we go shopping!" said Anne eagerly.
Mr. Boonchuy unlocks the doors. Anne and the Plantars get out of the car in a hurry and emotionally excited. Then the Boonchuys comes out from their vehicle with a show of concern.
"This was a bad idea, wasn't it?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked with concerned.
"Oooooh, yeeeah..." Mr. Boonchuy replied when concerned as well.
Anne and the Plantars went inside to the market as they looked awe when they see so many groceries in the market that has some fruit, vegetables, meats, kitchen supplies, and all other stuff. It wasn't that really busy because it's slow days. There only lesser customers shopping with their karts.
"Wow! That thing looks like Frobo! Is that a robot too?" Sprig curiously asked.
"Sort of... it's like a... robotic wallet." Anne answered.
"Cool. And is that a robot?" Sprig pointed out an employee.
"Sprig, not everything is a robot."
Sprig pointed out at the toy robot.
"Ok fine, but nothing else."
Once her parents arrived, her dad was looking something from his pocket, but he realizes that he forgot something when he panicked.
"Oh no. I left the shopping list at home! Abort mission! Abort mission!" Mr. Boonchuy panicked.
"No worries. I took a picture of the shopping list before we left." said Anne showing a picture of the shopping list. "Just in case."
"Oh, thank you Anne. That was... strangely responsible of you..." Mrs. Boonchuy awkwarly thanked her daughter.
Polly kicked Anne to get her attention.
"Psst. Give me a quarter. I wanna buy a lotto ticket." Polly whispered.
"You will do no such thing!" Anne snapped at Polly.
Hop Pop was showing around the fruit and vegetable section when picked up a tomato believing that it was just too small when he chuckled.
"Such puny vegetables." He put the tomato back and he looked at something. "Huh? Whoa mama!"
He sees a durian that is huge. He ran over and curious pick up the durian.
"Now that's more like it."
"Oh that's durian. It's a Thai favorite. Not really my thing though since it smells like..." Anne explained.
But Hop Pop cracked it open in half as the stench flows into his nose.
"Rotten eggs."
Hop Pop is grossed out by durian and tries to mop himself on the floor. Then a lady watches him confused.
"First time trying a durian around here." Anne covered it up.
The lady laughs and left. Anne picks up Hop Pop in her arms.
"C'mon, let's get something good for you."
"Then she stops and gasp that they have noodle shop here in the market. Then she looked at her parents."
"Mom, dad, can I take the Plants to try some noodles?" Anne asked kindly.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeemmm..." Her parents weren't so sure about this.
"I will keep the Plantars close by at all times, avoid other customers and I have my cell phone handy in case you guys' call."
"But.."
"And I didn't order iced coffee, which although I love it, makes me shaky and nervous."
"That does sounds fair." Her mother agrees.
"Alright, you can go, but be careful." Her father reminded his daughter.
"Yes. We'll have it. Thank you!"
Then she looks at the Plantars that were separately and she grabs Sprig and Polly from touching the crab.
"No, you will not..."
Then she grabs Hop Pop from entering through the door that says "Employees Only".
"Oh! No no no no no..."
Her parents were watching Anne when she takes them to the noodle shop. They have never seen their daughters changing into her personality since she got back home
"Unbelievable. It's like she's a different person." said Mr. Boonchuy.
"Perhaps the old frog is right, she has changed quite a bit. Now come on, mommy needs some jasmine tea." Mrs. Boonchuy suggested as they went to the tea section.
Later on, an employee was standing by the electric door to greet its customer, but the electric door open and closed by itself think that its broken.
"Stupid door."
But suddenly, he didn't notice when the invisible Cloak-Bot sneaked passed him quietly. Meanwhile from the outside, Mickey parked the car and got out from the vehicle.
"So, this is where its heading." said Mickey.
"But why would it go to the market?" Donald confused.
"Maybe it's hungry?" Goofy suggested.
"I wouldn't count on that. C'mon."
They put on their sunglasses and walked to the market as they went inside, but an employee intervenes.
"Sorry, we don't allowed dogs here."
Mickey showed an employee a service dog card.
"Oh, my mistake. Go right ahead."
"Thanks" Mickey thanked him as he and his pals walked past him leaving an employee confused.
"Alright gang, let's split up and search some clues. So, stay alert."
Donald and Goofy nodded and split up from Mickey and Pluto to search some clues. Donald and Goofy went to the magazine section when he picked up a sports magazine, but Donald intervenes.
"Goofy! This is no time to read."
"Okey dokey."
While Donald walked past him through the magazine. The invisible frog-bot quietly passed, but Goofy turned around and see nothing. He thought he must've heard something, but he shrugged and left. Then invisible frog-bot comes out and left.
Meanwhile at the noodle shop, Anne receives the dishes from an employee and takes them away by carrying two in her hands and one on her head.
"Thanks, dude."
"I gave you a tray." said the employee.
Anne sets down three bowls of noodles at the table while the Plantars are sitting.
"Alright, dig in everyone."
Hop Pop was curious at the noodles on a bowel and started to taste it. But then he realized that it tastes so good.
"Hey, these worms are very good and they aren't fighting for their lives." said Hop Pop.
Sprig is eating the noodles as well and he liked it.
"Very good? They are delicious!" Sprig delighted
"Gimme!" Polly ambitious when she swiped the bowel from Sprig and started to eat some of his noodles. "Polly likey."
"They're not worms, they're noodles, the heart and soul of Asian food." Anne explained about the noodles.
Sprig took the bowl of noodles back from Polly when he eats some more pasta.
"Hey!"
Anne giggled at her frog siblings. But they took no noticed when the Cloak-Bot was slipping through by passing a customer pushing his kart and walked closer to its target. Before its about to reach her, the magnets were shaking meaning that it effects an invisible frog by revealing itself. The Cloak-Bot froze and looked down that it's no longer a camouflaged. Once Sprig was done eating, he noticed something that it already turned invisible and pointed out at the direction.
"KILLER ROBOT!"
They stopped eating to turned around and see nothing. Anne looked at the toy that has candies inside. Then she looked back at Sprig.
"Sprig, for the last time, not everything is-"
Her words were cut off when she was started to get choked when picked up by the mysterious force. Anne struggles to break free, but it's no use.
"GUYS!"
"ANNE! Oh no you don't!"
Sprig tossed out the bowel and smashed on the back which turns out to be the Cloak-Bot when the invisible wears off. It turned its head around and looked at the Plantars as it prepares to attack.
"Take this!" Hop Pop cried.
He tossed out the noodle at the robot when it dropped Anne to the floor, but caught the bowel and tossed back at the Plantars.
"Oh boy."
The bowel landed as strike on the table broke in a half stumbling the Plantars. Cut to Mickey and Pluto, they heard a crash from the other side when Pluto lift his left ears.
"What was that?" Mickey asked.
Back to Anne when she got up to get the Plantars out from the noodle shop away from the robot.
"Everyone, run!"
She grabbed the Plantars and ran away from the Cloak-Bot and it turned invisible before it went following its targets. An employee from the noodle was listening to the music on his headset while reading a comic book, but then noticed something when he turned around and see that the noodle shop was a mess. He picked up the mop and a bucket to clean up this mess.
"(sigh) People go crazy for those noodles."
Mickey and Pluto showed up and see the mess. They were surprised that the noodle shop was a mess. Then they looked at an employee as he started to mop.
"What happened?" Mickey asked.
"A couple of folks trashed around the noodle shop and I have no idea how they made a huge mess." An employee answered.
Pluto started to sniff at the noodles and start licking the spilled noodles, but Mickey intervenes.
"Pluto! This is no time for lunch break! We gotta keep looking and fast!" Mickey reminded his dog.
Then they fled the scene leaving an employee confused, but then shrugged and proceed to clean up the mess. Anne and the Plantars are running through market.
"Did you see that thing?!" Polly frantic. "It's a new kind of Frobo!
"It's gotta be from Amphibia, but how did it get here? What does it want?" Anne shocked.
"Andrias must have sent it to capture us." Hop Pop realized that.
"But we have to take this thing out before my parents notice anything's wrong-"
Her words were cut off when she bumped into her parents. She forgot that they were standing there smiling. She was stammering at first, but speaks normally.
"Mom, dad, hi." Anne nervously greeted her parents.
"Oh, hey guys. How are the noodles?" Her father asked.
"So good." Anne answered when she's sweating. "I was uh...just taking the Plantars to help out with the shopping list."
"Yep." said the Plantars altogether.
"Oh, that's so thoughtful. Can you also go get a macro for the seafood counter?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked when pointed her thumb at the seafood section.
"Oh yeah, no problem."
Sprig put his hand on Anne's shoulder and pointed his finger. They were staring straight at, but not her parents, they were staring at the invisible Cloak-Bot with noodles on its head glowing red glaring at them. Anne nervously thought of something before else happens. She doesn't want to her parents to freak out, but she got it under control.
"Uh, yeah, gonna do that right now." She chuckled nervously as she pushed them away from her parents leaving them confused while the invisible frog passed them quietly.
"Isn't the fish counter the other way?" Mr. Boonchuy asked.
Anne and the Plantars keeps running through the market.
"Anne, can you use your blue powers? Take it down, easy like?" Hop Pop asked.
"Powers! Powers!" Polly chanted.
"I would if I knew how to use them." replied Anne. "I'm not sure it's something I can just do whenever."
"Boo!" Polly disappointed.
"So what do we do? Wouldn't it draw a lot of attention if we fight a robot in the middle of the store?!" Sprig asked.
"Probably, but I have a fun." said Anne.
She quietly sneak inside the customer service when she put a coffee mug and set on the button that connects to an announcer with microphone and turned the radio on to turn the volume up. Then music starts to spread when it got some customers attention. Anne knew that her plan is working.
"All right, that'll cover up any noise that we might make. Now, come on!"
"What?" Sprig confused.
"Speak up!" Hop Pop hollered.
"This music makes me mad!" Polly cried.
"Just come on!" Anne grabbed the Plantars and walked off. Clearly the music was too loud. Even Donald and Goofy got attention too.
"What's going on?" Donald asked confused.
"What?" Goofy confused.
"I said what's going on?"
"What?!"
"I said WHAT'S going on?!"
"WHAT?!"
Looks like Donald and Goofy can't even hear the loud music as well. The invisible Cloak-Bot is still hunting its target until Anne showed up getting the Cloak-Bot attention.
"Hey robot! I brought you some flours!
Anne grabbed two package of flours and tossed them straight at the Cloak-Bot once it strike bursting the bag open revealing its true self when the robot is no longer invisible. The tallest frog-bot glares at her.
"Good thinking Anne. Everyone, ATTACK!" Sprig shouted.
They charged towards at the Cloak-Bot and then the Cloak-Bot charged at them when some noodles flew off. Meanwhile, her parents were listening to the that loud music, but Mrs. Boonchuy started to listen to the music.
"Hey, I love this song."
She set the basket down as she pretends to play her guitar solo. Her husband joined her as well.
"Oh yeah, this is a classic!" Her husband agrees.
While they are listening to the loud music, Anne and Plantars are beating up the Cloak-Bot when stumble on piles of cans making a mess, but luckily Sprig quickly cleaned up while Polly is holding a rolling pin as a weapon.
Anne used a pan as a weapon to hit the Cloak-Bot, but it deflects her attack by spinning its arms. While Anne is pushing the Cloak-Bot back by using a pan, Sprig and Polly charged the attack, but the Cloak-Bot jumped back before Hop Pop jumped on, but land flatly. Suddenly, the Cloak-Bot sensed something and quickly hide when an elder lady passed by. Anne and the Plantars putting their weapons behind their back.
"Huh? That's weird? Looks like the robot doesn't want to get caught either." Anne confused.
By the time the old lady left, the Cloak-Bot comes out and resume the attack by grabbing the two packages of rice as its spins arms fast to attack Anne, but dodged.
"Got 'em!" Hop Pop hollered, but hit by another package of rice. "Hop Pop down!"
"Retreat!" Anne ordered. She picked up Hop Pop and ran off with Sprig and Polly while he rips off the rice to cover its track to escape from the Cloak-Bot when it slips. Anne and the Plantars ran safely to the freezer door that says employees only. The Cloak-Bot slips and fall as it stumples on the shelves knocking some stuff out. Mickey and Pluto were listening to the music when it's so loud.
"Gosh, whoever plays the music, it's very loud!" said Mickey when tried to get Pluto attention.
Suddenly, a can rolled pass by Pluto when he sensed something. Pluto started to sniff where it comes from. When he looked out and see what's going, but until he gasp. He has spotted the Cloak-Bot as it tries to stand up, but fell back down. Pluto was shocked that the robot is in the market. He must get Mickey attention when ran off and bark.
"Ruff! Ruff!" Pluto ran towards Mickey to get his owner attention. "Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!"
"What is it, boy? Did you find something?"
Pluto nodded.
"Well, come on! We gotta find Donald and Goofy first."
"Ruff! Ruff!"
Both Mickey and Pluto ran off to find Donald and Goofy. However, they both are still yelling at each other while the music is still running while plugging their ears
"For the last time! THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!" Donald shouted.
"WHAAAAAAT?!" Goofy shouted.
Suddenly, the music stops. Donald unplugged his ears when he heard the music stops.
"Ah, now that's better."
"Donald! Goofy!" Mickey hollered.
They looked at Mickey and Pluto ran to them.
"What is it, Mickey?" Donald asked.
"Pluto must've found something."
"Really? Where?"
"We gotta follow him so that he can lead us right to it. C'mon!" said Mickey when he ran off to follow Pluto.
"Hey, wait for me!" Donald followed his friends as well, but Goofy is still standing holding his ears.
"WHAAAAAAT?!" Goofy shouted.
Meanwhile in the meat product freezer, the door was open by the Cloak-Bot lashed it claws out. It walked slowly to find and execute its target. Anne is hiding behind the boxes from the Cloak-Bot. She needs of something else to fight back. There's nowhere to run or nowhere to hide.
"I'm getting really tired of this guy." said Anne annoyed. "Anyone got any ideas?"
Unfortunately, the Plantars were into ice cubes. Sprig and Polly are frozen together while Hop Pop is frozen all by himself. Anne totally forgot about low temperature since the last time there was a winter in Amphibia.
"Right. Frogs. Body temperature."
Suddenly, the Cloak-Bot grabbed the box and shoved aside startling Anne. She tries to punch the Cloak-Bot, but it grabbed her fist and swing her aside and she lands hit hard on some ice packages hitting her back. The Cloak-Bot walked closer and stood in front of her raising its arm to finished her off.
"C'mon powers! C'mon!"
Anne tries to unleashed her power, but it didn't work. The Plantars were watching when the Cloak-Bot was about to finished her off. They realize that the Cloak-Bot is not to capture her, but its here to kill her. They tried to move, but still frozen. There's no way that can't move when they're still frozen.
Meanwhile from the outside of the freezer, Pluto halt and sniff at the spilled rice until Mickey, Donald, and Goofy showed up next to Pluto.
"Okay boy, where is it?" Mickey asked desperately.
Pluto posed by pointed himself with the tip of his nose as he pointed out that freezer door.
"Hot dog! You found it!" Mickey petted his dog. "Good boy, Pluto!"
"Ruff!"
Mickey and his friends walked closer to the door as they prepared to find out.
"Alright gang, on the count of three, when I burst the door open, we're gonna jump right to it and see what we're up against." said Mickey.
"Right." said Donald and Goofy.
"Ready? One...two...three!"
Mickey kicked the door open and looked through the freezer, but what they didn't expect to see the tallest frog-bog raising its arm to hurt Anne. But when that sound got their attention, the Cloak-Bot turned its head around and looked at Mickey and his friends. Anne was shocked that her idols arrived. She was surprised to see Mickey at first, but shockingly confused when staring straight at him.
"Mickey?! Donald?! Goofy?!" Anne exclaimed.
"Anne?! What the?!"
"What are you doing here?! It's not safe here!" Anne shouted worrying.
The Cloak-Bot turned its body around and raised its claws at them when glaring at them. Donald and Goofy hold on to each other's arms when panicked while Pluto started to growl at the robot.
"Gwarsh! Is this the robot that Anne's been talking about?!" Goofy frantic.
"Uh huh!" Donald replied panicked.
Mickey was shocked and confused. He has never seen this robot up close before. Then he started to realize that the anomaly was actually the robot from another world all this time. Mickey did remember what Anne talked about the invasion. He changed his expression from shocked into a glare. He knew that Anne needs help.
"Wh-whatever you are?! You are not hurting her while I'm around!" said Mickey then turned his head at his friends. "C'mon gang! Let's show em' whose boss."
"Right!" Donald agreed.
"You said it!" Goofy agreed as well.
They both let go of each other and turned self-defense. Mickey grabbed a frozen ham, Donald grabbed both frozen fish and turkey leg, and Goofy grabbed a frozen swordfish. Pluto stand his ground growling. Looks like they are ready to attack.
"CHARGE!"
They all charged to attack the robot. Donald quacked in battle war cry as he about to attack, but the Cloak-Bot grabbed his neck squeezing his eyes out as its spinning around fast and tossed him off.
"I got em'!" Goofy hollered, but Donald landed on him. Mickey looked back at his friends knocked out and looked back at the Cloak-Bot glaring eat each other.
"Okay, you big palooka! Now you really ask for it!"
Mickey charged at the robot when it tried to attack Mickey, but he dodged. He raised a frozen ham to hit the robots head, but it grabbed the steak. Mickey was shocked that the robot caught the ham. The Cloak-Bot glared at him.
"Uh oh."
It raised its arm lifting him up and tossed him out at both Donald and Goofy when crashed. There were stars spinning around on each head.
"Did we win?" Goofy ditzy.
The Cloak-Bot felt nothing, but sensed that Pluto grab a bite at its arm growling. The Cloak-Bot lifted Pluto up and tossed him out with a yelp and crashed at them. The Cloak-Bot transformed its arm into a plasma gun when prepare to fire at the toons. They looked at the robot and quickly yelped horrified.
"NO!" Anne shouted.
She couldn't believe that the Cloak-Bot was going to fire at her favorite characters. She was staring at them horrified by showing a reflection from her eyes when Both Mickey and Pluto held each other's arm on the right and Donald and Goofy held each other's arm on the left. She closed her eyes when something is happening again.
Anne opens her eyes when she turned rage with blue aura on her eyes and her hands glowing as well. She has unleashed her power again, but this time it's Mickey and his pals that are in danger. The scanner pops out from the back of the Cloak-Bot to pick up a warning sign. The Cloak-Bot turned its head around to see Anne with her blue power.
"If you think I'm just gonna sit here while you hurt my friends, you've got another thing coming!"
Anne goes to the front of the Cloak-Bot at lightning speed and delivers a massive left punch, causing it to miss everything. Mickey and his pals were both shocked and amazed. The Cloak-Bot stumbled backwards, but left damaged on the right side of the face. Its eye's view started to glitch when its damaged.
Then the Cloak-Bot started to glitched and twitched when its malfunctioned and has no choice, but to retreat by crashing through the garage door and hopped away by crushing on two cars leaving some trails of damaged. It won't be long by the time the Cloak-Bot fled.
Suddenly, Anne lowered her power as she started to groan. Mickey couldn't believe what he saw. He has never seen such power like this before. Same goes for his friends when they were shock and awe. They ran up to her to see if she's okay.
"Anne! Are you alright?" Mickey concerned.
"What was that?" Donald asked.
She looked at her friends exhausted.
"I-It's a long story." Anne answered.
She looked down at the frozen fish. She picked it up and put around her yellow jacket. Goofy was looking around curious.
"Say, uh, where's your frog friends?" Goofy looked, but then looked at the frozen Plantars in the ice cubes. "Gwarsh! We gotta get em' out and fast!
They all exited from the freezer when Donald and Goofy pushed the ice cubes out. But Anne sat and lay down on the ice cube for a moment getting Mickey and his pals attention.
"Anne?" Mickey concerned.
Suddenly, Sprig frees from the half of the ice cubes when its unfrozen.
"Anne, that was amazing! You guys weren't kidding when you said "powers"." Sprig amazed.
"Yeah! Do the punch again!" Polly added, but looked at her with concerned "Anne?"
They didn't notice at first, but they realize when their friend was fainted. Sprig was shocked.
"Anne!" Sprig shouted.
Both Sprig and Polly break free from the other half of the ice while Hop Pop breaks free from his own ice cube.
"Anne!" The Plantars shouted.
They were worried at Anne when she's fainted. Hop Pop tried to lift her up and shaking waking her up, but it's no used. Mickey and his pals were worried about her too praying that she's okay.
"Come on Anne. Come back." Hop Pop frantic.
"Is she OK?" Polly asked worried.
"She's okay." Hop Pop answered. "I think using these powers takes a lot out of her."
"Well, we gotta do something. If her parents see her like this..." Polly was worried if Anne's sees her like this, then they will go overprotective again. But Sprig was thinking and then he had an idea.
"I've got an idea. I'll be right baaaaaaaack!" Sprig ran off with Polly to go get something.
While the kids are gone, Mickey looked at Hop Pop as he began to spoke.
"Excuse me, but uh, how did this happen?"
Hop Pop looked at Mickey and his friends as they staring at them. Nobody ever mentioned about Anne's power right until now. He sighed.
"Son, there's something that you should know about."
They started to listen to him when he explained to them.
"You see, before we were zapped here from Amphibia, when we face Andrias and his robots at Newtopia to stop the invasion by using the music box. By the time Polly got her new legs by grabbing the box, Andrias held Sprig as hostage as he moved his arm to the open window. He threatened us to put down the box or he will drop him."
"He did?!" Donald shocked
"I'm afraid so. Once Polly set the box down, he released him from his hand and fell. We were horrified that we almost lost him. But something has changed inside Anne when she unleashed her power, rage, as the aura started to glow around her. I believe that she connects to the blue stone from the box. She punched him demanding to give him back and barely outmatched Andrias, but unfortunately, she can't control her powers." Hop Pop finished his story.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto were all shocked what Hop Pop has just said. They were both horrified and shocked. Mickey slowly changed his expression as he clenched his fist. He knew most villains will do anything to harm any children, but for Andrias, it was all too cold.
"This is gone too far." said Mickey sternly. "But dropping a kid was a bad move."
"Yeah! When I get my hands on that big palooka, I'm gonna..." Donald was going to get mad, but was cut off when both Sprig and Polly came back with a half durian.
"Aaaaaaaaand durian to the rescue!" Sprig called.
Sprig brings the durian closer to Anne. Then she quickly wakes up to the smell of a stench.
"Ah! No! Get it away!" Anne panicked, but looked at her adopted grandfather. "Hop Pop?"
"You're alive!"
Sprig tossed away the durian and went to hugged her in relief. Mickey and his friends were glad that Anne is okay. Pluto panted happily and he licked on Anne's face.
"Ha ha, Pluto! Cut it out!" Anne laughed.
"Aw, I think he really likes you." Mickey cooed.
Then Pluto stop licking when Anne looked at Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. She realizes that they were still here. Then she started to stand up and swipe herself off
"Oh! Mickey, I uh...didn't notice that you're still here."
"Well, we were planning to stop by at your house to check on you to see if you're okay." Goofy added in. "But we didn't know that you were gone to the market and now, here we are."
"Wait, you do?" Anne asked.
"Of course, you see while we're at your house, there's somethings going on around here when we picked up an unidentified anomaly which it turns out to be a robot. And that's when we found you." Mickey explained.
"Oh, shoot. I totally forgot about that. You see..."
"Hop Pop told us that you have your power." Donald cut in.
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah, you saved us all back there! He told us everything about your power." Goofy smiled.
"Don't worry, Anne, your secret is safe with me." Mickey added.
He winked his left eye at Anne. Then she smiled and winked her right eye back at them. Then suddenly, Anne's parents arrived.
"Oh hey, there you guys are. How was your supermarket journey?" Mr. Boonchuy asked.
Anne totally forgot about that too. She quickly covered up with an excuse so that way her secrets are safe.
"It was great!" Anne replied "Walking around in boring supermarket was just the thrill we needed. Oh! And here's the fish you wanted."
She handed a fish to her parents.
"Oh, thanks Anne. Glad you had fun." Mrs. Boonchuy smiled.
"And were sorry for being so overprotective earlier." Mr. Boonchuy apologize to his daughter. "Not only can you take care of yourself, but it'll look you can take care of your friends."
"Yes, we are actually very impressed."
"Aw, thanks, but you don't have to apologize. You were just doing everything you could to keep me safe and..." She paused her sentence when she looked at the Plantars and then she looked back at her parents. "I get it."
"Yeah, well some kid made a mess of the cooking aisle and we just lucky to have a daughter who would never do something like that." said Mr. Boonchuy.
Then her parents started to laugh when they heard a rumor. Anne and the Plantars were chuckled nervously at first, but her frog family started laugh it out loud until Anne shush them quickly.
"Don't overdo it." Anne whispered.
"Hmm, whoever made it mess gonna have to clean it up." Goofy commented.
Then her parents were stunned and looked at Mickey and his friends, but her mother was smiling at Mickey.
"Mickey, how wonderful to see you." Mrs. Boonchuy smiled.
"Ha ha, hiya ma'am, sir." Mickey greeted back.
"Wait, Donald and Goofy?" Mr. Boonchuy confused.
"Ah hyuck, hi." Goofy greeted.
"Hello." said Donald.
"So, what are you all doing here?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked kindly.
"Oh, uh, we were planning to stop by at your house to see that your daughter is okay, but we didn't realize that you were at the market. So why not shopping?" Mickey explained when he covered Anne's secret. "Right gang?"
"Uh huh." Both Donald and Goofy nodded.
"Are they allowed to have your dog here?" Mr. Boonchuy confused.
"Oh, actually, Pluto's being a dog service for while." Mickey answered.
"I see."
"I'll tell you what, how would you boys feel if you like to come over?" Mrs. Boonchuy offered them.
"Really?" Anne gasp.
"You really mean it?" Donald smiled.
"Of course, you are more welcome to visit at any time." Mrs. Boonchuy replied.
"And remember, you promised to keep our secrets so no one knows that these frogs exist." Mr. Boonchuy reminded them.
"Don't you worry. Our lips are been sealed." said Mickey.
"Wonderful! Now let's go home." Mrs. Boonchuy cheered.
They all went through an exit when the sun goes down. While her parents were walking toward their car, Hop Pop was going to say something to her.
"Anne, are you sure that you're okay?" Hop Pop asked. "You didn't look too good back there.""Yeah, I'm thinking I shouldn't use those powers if I can help it. I don't know how to describe it, but using them feels...bad." said Anne.
"Well, we won't make you use them again." said Sprig.
"Plus, you're sort of taking on a lot of already." Polly added.
"What are you talking about?" Anne asked. "All I have to do is protect you guys and keep you a secret. Oh, and find a way to reopen a portal to Amphibia, return you home, and somehow to defeat King Andrias, and make up with my two best friends, and bring them back to Earth."
Anne finished her sentenced leaving her friends confused.
"Okay, it sounds like a lot, but I can do it. I'm perfectly capable of." said Anne.
She was standing by their car, but she couldn't move.
"Now can someone please open this door for me? I'm trying to move my arms and nothing's happening."
Hop Pop open the slide door for Anne. Before they got into their vehicle, Mickey started to speak to her.
"Hey, Anne?"
"Yes, Mickey?"
"Thanks for saving us back there." Mickey thanked her. "I owe you one."
"You're welcome, and thanks for looking out for me." Anne smiled.
"Well, so long."
"Take care of yourself." Donald waved.
"See yah later, alligator!" Goofy waved.
"If I ever heard or seen an alligator one more time, then I will have to kick your face!" Polly threatened.
"Fair enough." Goofy shrugged.
Mickey, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy got into his vehicle and start the engine. They all waved bye to their friends.
"So along folks, and we'll see ya real soon!" Mickey waved.
"Take care! Oh, and say hi to Minnie and Daisy for us!" Anne hollered. "We will!"
"Goodbye!" They all waved when Mickey and his friends drove away. Then Anne and the Plantars got into their vehicles.
"Hey, anyone else carving those noodles?" Hop Pop asked.
"Yep. Turns out this world ain't half bad." Polly agreed.
"Yeah, as long as that robot never comes back, I think everything's gonna be fine." Sprig added.
"You gotta stop saying stuff like that." Anne suggested.
"What's for dinner?" Mr. Boonchuy asked. "ฉันกำลังหิวโหย!" (I'm starving!)
"Noodles! Noodles! Noodles!" chanted the Plantars as they drove away from the market. Meanwhile when the rain started, we switched to see in the church tower when there's a yellow flashing that was fixing by the Cloak-Bot that survived the attack is it repairs itself.
"Upgrades and repairs in process. Target will be destroyed at all costs!"
Just for the reminders that we have 24 days until Christmas meaning that I still have enough time. Stay tune for the next chapter!
