Chapter 12: Adventures In Catsitting
A new day begins at the Boonchuys residence, Domino, who was sleeping in Anne's bed, says "Goodbye with a lot of energy". She goes around the bed, but then chases a fly, eats it, and then spits it out. She runs downstairs to the living room to makes a mess by knocking over a picture frame of Anne with her parents. Then Domino plays with a ball of yarn. Suddenly she hears Anne very frustrated.
"Really? Science Mag Monthly?!"
In the backyard, where it shows Sprig is playing with soccer ball while Polly and Hop Pop are having their lemonade resting in the sun. The Plantars are having their goodtime on Earth, but for Anne, she's still working on how to get back to Amphibia by going through some books.
"Not one article interdimensional portals? There's absolutely nothing! What science do you even do?" exclaimed Anne.
"Relax, Anne. We'll find a way back..." Hop Pop drinks his lemonade. "...eventually."
Mr. Boonchuy shows up serving him more lemonede.
"Oh, you don't have to do that."
"Please, your our guest." said Mr. Boonchuy.
Suddenly, they heard a beeping from inside of the house when smokes coming out.
"What's that high-pitched beeping?" Hop Pop asked.
"(gasp) My canapés!" exclaimed Mr. Boonchuy when ran back to the kitchen.
"Whoo! I haven't been this pampered in ages."
"Hear! Hear!" Polly cheered.
"Enjoy it now, kids, "Guests are like noxious swamp gas. After three days, they start to drive you crazy". We've already been here two days, pretty soon we'll have to start pulling our own weight."
"Hop Pop, we've been here for a whole week." said Sprig reminded him.
Both Polly and Hop Pop spits their drinks out at each other.
"No! That means we're not just guests anyone. We're freeloaders! Just like Cousin Stanley!" Hop Pop frantics.
Sprig and Polly gasps.
"Well, I'm sort of family now, so..." said Sprig.
"Who?" Anne asked.
"He was the worst!" Polly answered.
(Flashback starts)
It shows Cousin Stanley sitting on the couch while the Plantars were crossing their arms annoyed.
"He stayed forever."
Then it shows Stanley eating all of their food.
"Ate all of our snacks."
Then it shows Stanley using Polly's bucket as a foot bath.
"Even used MY bucket as a footbath."
Sprig took a peek from the bathroom where Stanley is secretly painting himself by using orange.
"I don't even think he was really our cousin."
The Plantars are holding there hands smiling at Stanley taking a drink from the outside.
"But we were hosts, so we had to be nice. We just resented him a little more each day."
"They're still standing as the leaves falls from the tree until their eyes were shown bloodshot."
(Flashback ends)
"Thankfully, he eventually left peacefully on his own. Just kidding. We threw him out the window."
A final flashback is shown, in which the Plantars kick Cousin Stanley out of the house for a sale at a high altitude, and he ends up in a small pond.
"Whoa! What?" exclaimed Anne.
"Exactly. And I can only imagine what the Boonchuys wanna do to us by now. We got to find a way to contribute to this household." said Hop Pop.
Suddenly, Mrs. Boonchuy appeared when she reminded her daughter about her appointment.
"Hey, Anne. It's time for your dentist appointment." said Mrs. Boonchuy.
"My what?" Anne confused.
"You have been missing for five months and I have a feeling you haven't been brushing."
Anne totally forgot to brush her teeth when she's been stranded for five months. Clearly she did brush her teeth in Amphibia, but different.
" Oooh, but mom! I'm supposed to take Domino to the vet today." Anne whined when she promised to take her pet cat.
"Maybe your father can take her." Mrs. Boonchuy suggested while her husband is eating a plate of canapés
"No can do. I'm working at the restaurant today." said Mr. Boonchuy.
"Oh, well. Mmm..."
Her parents started to think about alternatives. While her parents are thinking, Hop Pop started to think about the same thing. He really thought if he and his grandkids were gonna thrown out by her parents since they've been here for a week. And then he had an idea.
"We'll take the cat to the vet!" said Hop Pop volunteered.
"Really? Are you sure?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure. It's the least we can do to help." replied Hop Pop.
"You guys are lifesavers!" said Anne quickly hug Hop Pop gleefully.
Then she hands him over the note.
"Here's the address to the vet. If anyone suspects anything froggy about you, just say "Boy, I could use some coffee", It's like code for "I'm human"." Anne instructed them, but she was pulled away by her mother. "Thanks, guys."
"And I'll be heading to the restaurant. If anything go wrong, just give me a call." said Mr. Boonchuy as he offer Polly a cellphone.
"Sweet!" Polly took the cellphone and flips it open. "Burner!"
Meanwhile from the house, Mrs. Boonchuy is dragging her daughter straight to her car.
"Mom, please. My teeth only hurt a little bit." Anne pleaded her mother.
Mrs. Boonchuy throws her daughter into the car and closes the back door. Then she gets in the driver's seat to turn the engine on and they drive off. Mr. Boonchuy is putting on his helmet as he got onto his scooter.
"Have fun with Domino, guy!" Mr. Boonchuy hollered as he drove off to work.
While Polly is open and close the phone clam, she started to get excited.
"Wow! Our first solo Earth mission without Anne. Big stuff." Then Polly talks to Hop Pop. "Do you really think we'll be all right?"
"Sure. Now, let's get that cat to the vet." replied Hop Pop.
"Yeah!" Both Sprig and Polly cheered.
In the living room, the Plantars observe Domino, who makes the candy in the sunlight and plays with the ball of yarn. They have never taken the cat to the vet before. Hop Pop was thinking while Sprig was nervous. Polly started to get impatient.
"Looks easy enough." said Hop Pop.
"I'm having Domino 2 flashbacks right about now." said Sprig nervous a bit.
"Enough talk. Seize the beast!" Polly suggested.
Then she jumps at Domino, causing the cat to start to irritate. Then we see from the front of the Boonchuys residence in which many loud noises, screams and panic can be heard.
"Oh my frog! It's got claws!" Hop Pop exclaimed.
"Blood! There's blood everywhere!" Polly shouted.
Meanwhile in downtown Los Angeles, Dipper is writing his own journal about the incident last sitting at the desk. Mabel is now wearing her strawberry sweatshirt and red skirt playing with Waddles by pretending to walk on twos. Pacifica is playing with her phone on social media. Wendy is reading her magazines laying on her bed.
The teens are hanging out at their room while their stuff was sorted separately. Dipper started to wandering how Anne was found. Then suddenly, they heard Fords calling.
"Kids, would you come over here for a moment." hollered Ford.
"Coming!" Mabel hollered back.
They entered the living room where Stan and Ford are standing in front of the teens. The teens are sitting down at the couch waiting for their meeting.
"What's up, Grunkle Ford?" Mabel asked.
"There's something you kids know about what happen last night." said Ford then looked at Dipper. "Dipper, you did the right thing to report me about Anne. I was quite surprised how she was found by Mickey at Toontown."
"Are you sure it was the kid that's been missing?" asked Stan.
"Yes, I saw her coming out from the food truck. We were there when they crashed through the skatepark." Dipper answered.
"Yeah! It was awesome! You should see something how they were doing like skateboarding." Mabel added.
"Who's they?" Stan confused.
"Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and that pink boy. Duh." replied Mabel.
"Wait, that boy is pink?" asked Wendy confused.
"Yeah, he's all pink and charming."
"Uh... I'm not sure if he has pink." said Dipper.
"Speaking of pink, you kids take Waddles to the vet. The doctors orders to check on him to make sure he's healthy." said Stan.
"Awe, what? Already?" Mabel exclaimed.
"I have to agree on this one, but right now we have to deal with unidentified anomaly that was roaming around the city. We need to find out on how or where did it come from." said Ford.
"Then how are we going to do that?" asked Dipper.
"That's what were gonna do. We're gonna split up into two teams. You kids go out there and take Waddles to the vet and make sure you stay together. While Stan and I are going to the bottom of this. Either it's friend or foe." said Ford.
"If it's a foe, I like to chew it with my fist!" Stan claims it by showing his brass knuckles.
"You really have to show them your brass knuckles."
"What? It's what I do."
"Now then, anymore questions?" Ford is waiting for an answers, but none of them asked. "Good, let's move out."
They all exited through the building when they split up. Dipper went left with Mabel, Pacifica, and Wendy while Stan and Ford are going to the right direction. Waddles is also is with Mabel by his leash.
"You kids be careful out there. Call me if anything goes wrong." Ford reminded them.
"Will do." replied Dipper.
"Bye Grunkle Stan! Bye Grunkle Ford!" Mabel waved.
"Bye kids! Take care!" Stan waved at the kids and then walks away with Ford.
"So, where do we start?" Stan asked his twin brother.
"I know a place where were going." said Ford pulls out a picture of the music box that was taken from the thrift store. "Starting with this."
Meanwhile at the bus stop, the Plantars are shown in their human costumes, but with a few bruises and wounds, while they carry Domino in the cage. They had a pretty rough starts with Domino.
"(sigh) Well, we survived that." Hop Pop sighed.
"Hel me." said Sprig traumatized.
"Now all we have to do is take this bus to the vet." said Hop Pop as the bus arrives. "Okay. We can do this. Just blend in and do whatever these people do."
The Plantars observe the humans at the bus stop getting on the bus and use cards to validate their trips. Hop Pop inhales deeply and mimics the same sound as the validator. First go up Hop Pop and then go up Sprig.
"Thank you, kind human." Sprig thanks the bus driver.
"Wow. Dirty." said Polly when came in last.
"Taking the bus. Done." said Hop Pop.
"That wasn't so hard." said Polly.
The bus begins to move forward, causing the Plantars to fly through the air. Hop Pop grabs Sprig and Polly and then sticks his tongue out of him to grab onto something, but only causes his tongue to bump into a lot of passengers. He finally manages to hold onto a handrail and they make it back to the ground.
"Wow, Hop Pop! Great tongue action." said Sprig impressed.
"I take a kickin' and keep on lickin'." said Hop Pop.
Then suddenly, they hear some passengers complaints while covered in slime and drools.
"Did that creepy old man just lick everyone on the bus?"
"What do you have to say for yourself, dude?"
"Boy, I could use some coffee?" Hop Pop nervous.
Then the bus stops as the bus driver kicks the Plantars and Domino out from the bus and drove away. Guess their plan didn't worked out.
"Well that went well."
"So what do we do? Oh!" Sprig pulled out a cellphone. "Maybe Mr. Boonchuy can give us a ride?"
"Absolutely not!" Hop Pop took the cellphone from Sprig and passed it to Polly. "We're not asking for any more favors. We just need to focus on and get this job done."
Meanwhile somewhere in Los Angeles, The Pines Twins, Pacifica, and Wendy are walking through the city along with Waddles as they heading to the vet. Pacifica was looking at the map from her phone to find a direction.
"How far are we get to the vet?" asked Pacifica.
"As long as we were in the right direction, we won't get lost. Remember what Great Uncle Ford says, this city was too risky when there's criminals around." replied Dipper.
"Dude, there aren't any criminals around here since the cities clean up by superheroes." said Wendy.
"Yeah, how bad can it be?" Mabel added.
"Wait. Who are they?" Pacifica halted when they stop walking.
They noticed when the Plantars are walking through the streets carrying Domino in the cage, but they only recognized Sprig disguising as a human boy. They didn't noticed that they're frogs at first.
"Hey, isn't that this kid that was scolded by his mom?" Wendy asked curious.
"Adopted, actually." Dipper corrected her.
"Oh, I remember him. He's with Anne when they drove the food truck. Let's go talk to him." said Mabel smiling.
"Hold it, Mabel. We don't even know who he is."
"Too late! I'm meeting him." Mabel cuts him off. "Excuse me?"
The Plantars stops walking and look at Mabel and Waddles as they approached.
"Hi, I'm Mabel, and this is Waddles, my pig." said Mabel introduced herself. "Waddles, say hello."
Waddles oink at the Plantars, but they were confused at her appearance.
"Uh, hi." Sprig greeted awkwardly.
"Mabel! I told you to stay put." said Dipper when he and his friends approached.
"What? Can't you see I'm making new friends here." replied Mabel.
"(sigh) Please excuse my sister, she's like energic when we got here last night." said Dipper.
"It's okay. We've been through a lot." said Sprig "I'm-"
"I know who you are. You're that kid that drove the food truck last night." said Mabel cuts him off.
"Huh? Food truck?" Hop Pop confused.
"Yeah, we were there last night while when we have pizzas," said Mabel.
"Oh...heh heh...sorry about that. I really don't want to talk about it." said Sprig nervously.
"It's okay, always forgiving."
"Well, that's nice of you. Now come on kids, we gotta get moving." said Hop Pop.
"So where are you going?" Mabel asked.
"We're taking Domino to the vet." Sprig answered.
"Wait. You guys are going to the vet? (gasp) We're going to the vet too!"
"Really?"
"Yeah! We're taking Waddles to vet. Same as you."
"Cool! I'm Sprig and this Polly."
"Hi." Polly greeted.
"And this is Hop Pop, our grandfather."
"How do you do." Hop Pop greeted.
"Nice to meet you, Sprig. Since you know my name, this Dipper, my twin brother and my friends, Pacifica and Wendy." said Mabel introduced the Plantars to her twin brother and her friends.
"Hi there." Dipper greeted.
"What's up?" Wendy added.
"Pleasure to meet you kids. If you want to head to the vet, then we have to stay together. Just for once." said Hop Pop
"Thank you so much Mister...uh..." Mabel paused when she didn't know their last name.
"Boonchuy." said Hop Pop covered up his last name.
"Right. You know I used to have our cat once back when I was petting him and played with him and-"
"Let's stop right there, Mabel. Should we get going or are gonna sit here and talk forever until night falls." said Pacifica suggested.
"Well, lead the way." said Dipper.
As a sequence starts. A panoramic view of Los Angeles is shown. The Plantars and the teens run but sees a group of humans on scooters. Hop Pop and Polly manage to dodge them, but Sprig is being carried away by them.
"SPRIG!" Hop Pop shouted as he and Polly went to go after Sprig.
An hour and 33 minutes later, Polly is shown opening the clam cell phone to view the map. The Plantars climb a steep path. Dipper is keeping an extra eye on them just to be sure.
Another 3 minutes later, they hear and see a bird, believing it to be a wild heron. The Plantars started to panic when they screamed, but it turns out that it was a regular heron the same size as them and when landing in a fountain.
"Really? You scared of the bird?" Pacifica asked flatly
The Plantars laugh at the heron for a moment, but it bites Sprig on his right hand and panics Polly and Hop Pop.
Half an hour later, the Plantars and the teens make a quick stop to feed Domino by forced her to come out from the cage. After he brightens the rack a bit and offers her a cat fish.
"Hey buddy, who wants a treat?" Hop Pop offered to Domino.
Domino opens his mouth wide and gets into Hop Pop's hand and pulls him into the cage screaming. Many more minutes later, the Plantars were tired and has several bruises and wounds manage to reach the vet.
"HOORAY!"
The Plantars cheered with victory dance for short while Pines Twins and their friends were awkwardly staring at them.
"Well, here we are." said Dipper.
From the inside of the vet, where the Plantars and the Pines waiting for an hour. Polly gets nervous about the dogs wailing and barking while a snake escapes the owner who searches for her pet snake.
"Bobbit! Has anyone seen my snake, Bobbit?"
A dog bites Hop Pop and tries to break free as he calm himself down.
"That's a good boy." said Hop Pop nervous.
Suddenly, the doctor pops her head out.
"Waddles? Any appointment for Waddles?"
"That's us!" Mabel announced.
"Well, it's nice knowing you." said Dipper. "Thanks for walking with us."
"You're welcome, and you too." replied Hop Pop.
Dipper and Mabel walk towards the doctor along with Waddles while Wendy and Pacifica are waiting for them.
Sprig has never seen such animals like this before except for snakes that he saw back from his world. He also remembers what most animals looks like back in Toontown. Then suddenly, he looks at a common Earth frog and is attracted to him. He couldn't believe that there was an actual frog on Earth.
"No way. Our brethren." sighed Sprig.
Sprig and the Common Frog stare at each other, but was then interrupted by the doctor.
"Domino. Uh... appointment for Domino."
"That's us!"
Few minutes later, the doctor has already finish checking up on Domino.
"Oh. Domino looks healthy enough. Uh, a little on edge. Do you three have any other questions for me?" asked the doctor.
"Yes, actually. Do you know anything about frog biology?" Hop Pop asked curious.
"What do you want to know?"
"What would you say for an older frog who's complaining about back pain these days?"
"Uh, a frog complaining?"
"Well, honestly, he holds it in and soldiers on. He's noble like that."
"Shush, Hop Pop." said Sprig covering his grandfather's mouth. "What we really want to know is what's the highest a frog has ever jumped? Does it seem beatable?"
"Frogs are more known for the length of their jumps than height." replied the doctor.
"Give me numbers, man." said Sprig as he jumps up to him and grabs him from the shirt.
"Question. Can a frog grow multiple limbs? Could there be hypothetically and uber-frog?" Polly asked curious.
"Do you have any medication that can make a frog look 40 years younger?" Hop Pop asked.
"I... Do you have a 40-year-old frog? You know, you have very interesting skin, sir." said the doctor takes off his glasses, but noticed about the fake nose. "And this is that a fake nose?"
Hop Pop started to get nervous. He realized that if the doctor discovered that frogs can talk, then he'll ended up captured by the authorities along with his granchildren. He needs to act fast.
Uuuhh... I could sure use some coffee..." Hop Pop and his grandkids leave the vet at a fast pace. "Come on, kids, let's skedaddle. Let's get this cat back home."
Hop Pop forgot to close the grill and let Domino escapes. The Plantars close the door, so Domino after cleaning herself jumps out of an open window. Both and Wendy and Pacifica had witnessed when Domino left the cage and jumped through the window after the Plantars left.
"Uh, should we tell them that their cat has escaped?" Wendy asked.
"Maybe? But we should wait until the doctor has finishes a checkup on Waddles." replied Pacifica.
Dipper and Mabel got out from the office along with Waddles since the doctor has already finishing up checking on the pig.
"Feeling better now, Waddles?" said Mabel cooing at her pig when he oinks at her.
"Hey girls. It didn't took long enough. Ready to head back?" said Dipper.
"Actually, we got a big problem here." replied Wendy.
"What do you mean?" Mabel asked.
"Well, their cat has escape after the old man and his grandkids has already left." Pacifica answered.
"Wait. What?"
"Oh no. That can't be good." Dipper mumbled
"Should we told them about this?" Mabel asked concerned.
"If that's how it's gonna be, then we should catch up with them and tell them a bad news."
"Right. C'mon guys." said Wendy as she and Pacifica got off from the chair.
They quickly ran out from the vet while the kid noticed when his frog is missing.
"Excuse me? Have you seen my frog?"
Back with the Plantars, they're walking back to the Boonchuys residence in relief. Sprig carries the cage on top of his head. They were glad that was over, but still didn't know that Domino escape from the cage.
"We did it! We aren't freeloaders!" Sprig cheered.
"Yep. We finally earned our keep." said Hop Pop takes a deep breath. "Feels good, doesn't it?"
"Even Domino seems happy with us. She hasn't tried to scratch me once since we left the vet." said Polly.
"And she feels so much lighter too." said Sprig didn't noticed.
Suddenly, they heard a shout.
"Hey! Wait up!"
They turned around and saw The Pines Twins, Pacifica, Wendy, and Waddles catching up to them. The Plantars were surprised that they ran up to them until they stop while taking their breath.
"Dipper? Mabel? What's up?" asked Sprig confusion.
"Sorry...I think you forgot someone." said Dipper taking his breath.
"Well, what is it?" Hop Pop asked.
"It's Domino! She has escaped!" Mabel frantic.
Sprig set the kennel down and looked inside, but then they realized that Domino is missing. They were shocked.
"SHE'S GOOONE?" Hop Pop panicked.
"Yeah, that's what we've been trying to tell you." replied Pacifica.
"We lost her! We lost Domino! Anne's gonna be devastated!" Sprig frantic.
"What do we do?! What do we do?!" Mabel panicked.
"I'm calling for backup!" said Polly when she pulled out the cellphone, but Hop Pop snatched it from her.
"That's the last thing we should do! Quickly. Let's retrace our steps. She couldn't getting far."
The Planters were returned where they passed while the teens are standing there looking concerned when the Plantars are searching for Domino.
"Domino!" Sprig called looking for bushes.
"Domino! Where are you?!" Hop Pop called while looking up the tree.
"I found this guy. Think Anne will know the difference?" Polly asked when she found a possum instead of Domino, but growls at them.
"Uhhhh...that's not Domino. That's a possum." said Dipper.
"What's the difference?" Polly asked.
"Possum is a small critter that plays dead." Wendy explained.
Polly took a glance at the possum and let it go as the possum ran off.
"So should we just call a backup or-" Mabel suggested but cuts off by Hop Pop.
"NO! You can't!" Hop Pop snapped.
"Why not?"
"Because even if we did. we'll be kicked out forever!" Hop Pop answered.
"But you said your last name was Boonchuy." said Dipper.
"We're not Boonchuys! We lied!"
"Wait, what?"
"It's true. We're not related to Anne, our last names are the Plantars. We are freeloaders" said Hop Pop sadly.
The teens took a glanced at each other for a second and then they looked at the Plantars.
"So let me get this straight. Your last names are the Plantars, but not Boonchuys?" Dipper rephrased his questions.
"Yes, yes we are." replied Hop Pop.
"Oookay, but it doesn't make any sense. Why would you think you be thrown out when you're freeloaders? Isn't that bad?"
"Worse. Way much worse."
"Is it too late to call for backup?"
"OK. Everything's fine. Nobody panic. We can figure this out. We still don't have to resort to calling Mr. Boonchuy."
"Dude, your grandson is on the phone." said Wendy.
"What?"
Hop Pop noticed that the clam phone is missing. He turned around and looked at Sprig talking on the phone. Hop Pop went panic.
"Hello? Mr. Boonchuy?" said Sprig talking to Anne's dad.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Hop Pop shouted.
He lunges towards Sprig to take the clam phone from him, but Sprig fights back. Hop Pop takes clam phone from Sprig and covers his mouth.
"Hello? Sprig? Something wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong."
"BODY SLAM!"
lunges at Hop Pop, causing him to get stuck in the cage while Sprig retrieves the clam phone and returns to the phone call.
"Uh-huh... yeah. Yeah... We lost the cat. OK... "Sha-war-ma". Got it. Thanks, Mr. Boonchuy. You're the best." Sprig hangs up the call and starts running.
Hop Pop breaks free from the cage and along with Polly, they follow him. The teens followed them as well along with Waddles.
"Hey! Wait for us!" Mabel hollered.
"Boy, what's going on?" Hop Pop asked while running.
"He said Domino would be at the nearest shawarma restaurant. I guess it's her favorite food. He also said he was on his way to help find her." replied Sprig.
"We gotta find that cat before he gets here. It's the only way to salvage this." Then he looked at Polly carrying a possum by its tail. "Polly, put that thing back!"
"Aww, but his face is frozen in a horrible smile." Polly whined.
"Just do it!" Pacifica snapped.
"Alright fine." said Polly when she let go of the possum when it rans off.
The Plantars and the teens arrived at a shawarma restaurant. As they peers out a window, Sprig pulls his frog friend out of his hair to free it as he set the frog down gently.
"Goodbye my friend. Hoppy trails."
The frog looks at Sprig blushing and hops away. Then Sprig join in looking out the window and see that there are many customers cheering and photographing Domino eating a shawarma.
"Just look at the kitty go!" cheered the customer.
"I don't know where this kitty came from, but I am keeping her forever. She's a shawarma-loving customer magnet!" said The restaurant owner.
They need to hurry before Anne's dad has arrived. They need to come up with the plan.
"He wouldn't think it was so cute if he knew where her mouth had been." said Polly.
"We've got to get that cat at any cost. We may have to give our lives." said Hop Pop.
"Don't be silly, Hop Pop. All we need is a distraction." said Sprig
"Then how are we are gonna do that?" Mabel asked.
The Plantars look at the restaurant. Then Polly finds a fire sensor.
"Hey, isn't that one of those alarm thingies?" Polly recalls it when she recognized.
"Hop Pop, think you can make a high-pitched sirenesque screech?" Sprig asked his grandfather.
"My time has come." said Hop Pop snapped his finger and then he mimics often high-pitched fire alert sound, causing customers to be alarmed.
"Aw, nuts! Everybody out! There's a fire!" said The restaurant owner when people ran off except for the woman.
"But I'm still waiting my order." said the woman.
"The shawarma's good, but is it worth your life, Karen?"
"My name is Emily, but point taken."
Once the employee and the customers are gone, Hop Pop stops mimicking and looked at the restaurant to see it's all clear now where Domino is still there.
"Now kids!"
Sprig lifts Polly out the window so she can get in, then Sprig walks in even though he lands on Polly. Sprig grabs Domino, but becomes even more irritated when she grabs onto the shawarma and back kicks at Sprig causing him to let go of her.
"Hey Domino!" Polly called and she takes out her wig with a cap, then the lace from her vest, and then becomes a ball. "Have some yarn."
Polly begins to roll like a ball while holding the drawstring of her vest, making Domino think she is a ball of yarn. Domino began to chases her while rolling like a ball, but Polly manages to get her out of the restaurant and goes to the cage. Hop Pop manages to catch Polly.
"Gotcha!"
Just as Domino enters the cage, Hop Pop closed the cage door.
"Whoo-hoo!" The Plantars cheered.
But they forgot to noticed when they heard a gasp. The Plantars turned around and looked at Pines Twins and their friends were shocked and awed. Then the frogs in disguises realized that they accidently blow their cover in front of their new friends.
"Uh oh."
"OMIGOSH! SHE'S BALD!" Mabel shouted.
"Wait a minute. She's not a human?!" Dipper shockingly confused. "Who or what are you?!"
Before Hop Pop explained, the firetrucks has arrived to check and see if there's a fire. But luckily, Mr. Boonchuy on his electric motorcycle arrives to pick them up.
"Time to go frogs. Come on!" said Mr. Boonchuy.
The Plantars get on the bike and the whole group leaves in a hurry leaving Dipper, Mabel, Pacifica, and Wendy behind while Waddles was normally staring at them.
"Sorry to leave you guys, but it was nice meeting you!" Sprig hollered as they drove away.
The teens couldn't believe what they have witnessed. Not only that Polly took off her wig to be like a yarn, but Mr. Boonchuy said the word "frogs" when he took no noticed. Even Pacifica's jaws were dropping.
"Did he just say frogs?" Pacifica asked shockingly.
"Yeah, that is so weird." Wendy commented.
"Oh my gosh. All this time. The Plantars are actually frogs and they're not humans? How could I missed that?!" said Dipper.
"Yeah, but they're our friends." said Mabel concerned.
"There's only one way to be sure. Great Uncle Ford must know about this." said Dipper when he pulled out his phone to make phone call.
Back with the Plantars holding onto to Mr. Boonchuy as he driving with his scooter.
"Thanks for bailing out, Mr. B." said Sprig thanking Anne's dad.
"Yeah, you're a real life saver." Polly agrees.
"Don't mention it. I'll drop you three off on my way to the restaurant." replied Mr. Boonchuy.
"(sigh) Once again we inconvenience you. How you must resent us freeloaders." sighed Hop Pop sadly.
"What? Freeloaders?"
Mr. Boonchuy hit the brakes when stop driving. Then he looks back the Plantars.
"You three took my daughter into your home when she needed it most. You kept her fed and safe for five months just out of the kindness of your heart. You will never owe us anything. Ever."
They couldn't believe what Anne's father say something to them. They were praised by her father since Anne told him and his wife everything about her adventure. They never expected to be thrown out, but instead they were sobbing, but with happiness after her fathers kindness to them.
"Wow. I...(sniff) don't what to say. Thank you." Hop Pop sobbed.
"Are you kidding? Thank YOU." Mr. Boonchuy thank the Plantars smiling and then he starts driving as they return back to the Boonchuys residence.
Meanwhile at the thrift shop, Ford and Stan has arrived as they stood near the window. They looked through the window and see that shelve where the box was there, but stolen.
"So that's the shop where the box was stolen? By couple of kids?" Stan asked.
"I wouldn't be so sure. Let's get inside and ask someone who own this place." said Ford.
When they were about to enter the store, Ford's phone started to ring. He pulled out his phone and looked at the screen. He tapped it answer the call.
"Hello?"
Then split shows Dipper who's calling his great uncle along with Mabel.
"Great uncle Ford!"
"What is it, Dipper?"
"You're not gonna believe what we just saw." said Dipper suspicious.
"Is it unidentified anomaly?" asked Ford.
"Maybe, but I don't think it's the anomaly. There's something else that we just met."
"Who did you meet with?"
"Their names are Sprig, Polly, and Hop Pop. They're the Plantars. We were with them when they took the cat to the vet like we took Waddles to the vet."
"Plantars?" asked Ford curious.
"That's right, and that's not all. They are not actually humans. They're frogs in disguises."
"Frogs?"
"Yeah! They can walk and talk at the same time! That pollywog was bald!" Mabel added.
"Hot Belgian Waffles! They talk?!" Stan shocked when he overheard the call.
"Yeah, I kinda figured out at first, but then again, it's a long story." said Dipper.
"Are you sure you're with the frogs?" Ford asked.
"Was, but they left with this guy, but I think that's Anne's dad. Was it?" replied Dipper.
"Uh, yeah. That must be her dad." said Mabel
"What did you say his last name was?" asked Ford curiously.
"Boonchuy." Dipper answered.
Ford started to think about it as he recalled. Then suddenly he started to realize what Dipper said is true. Could this be the girl who she hangs out with the frog boy that Dipper mentioned it last night? This could be a whole lot of question about the girl and the frogs.
"I guess this must be the case. Dipper, Mabel I need you, and your friends to head back at the rent house. Whatever you said is true, then we got a lot of talking about these talking frogs."
"Thanks uncle Ford. We'll be right over." Dipper ended the call once the split is back to normal.
Ford looked at his phone to search the web from the internet. Stan was staring at his brother.
"So what now?" Stan asked.
"My guess is that the anomaly is not the only one in this city. It's those frogs that are in this city." replied Ford.
"You think they're friendly?"
"Yes, Dipper told me that this boy was part of the family along with his sister and his grandfather. Which kinda reminds us how we've been through." Ford recalled his memory from the past.
"Hey, we're pals, right? It's all about in the past." said Stan putting his hand on his brother shoulders.
"You know Stan, maybe your right. Let's check inside before it closed."
Then they heard the door closed when its locked by the old woman. She put her keys into her pocket as she starts to head out, but the Older Pines Twins intervene.
"Excuse me, ma'am?" said Ford
The old woman turned around and looked at both Stan and Ford.
"Can I help you, gentlemen?" said The old woman.
"Yes, we were like some folks that learns more about the mythology, but uh, does that music box ring a bell to you?" Ford asked when he shows the picture of the music box.
"Hmm, why yes. I remember that. I used to have the box before it was stolen."
"Do you know who stole the music box?"
"I'm not sure, but it's been five months since I last seen it. I'm terribly sorry." The old lady apologized.
"It's alright ma'am. We were just wondering. Have good day ma'am."
"You too." The old lady walked off. Stan and Ford took their glanced at each other.
"Well, case closed." said Stan.
"Not quite, but there's a whole lot of mystery to discuss. The question is...where do these frogs come from?"
"Maybe from another dimension. I think?"
"You know what. Let's head back to the condor."
"Agreed."
Meanwhile back at the Boonchuy residence, The Plantars were sitting in the living room watching TV where it shows the news about the incident at shawarma restaurant, but then they heard Anne and her mother entering through the door from the garage. But Anne clearly under the influence of some pretty strong dentist medication.
"Anne! You're back! Everything went great with Domino."
"You guys are everywhere. OK?" said Anne dizzy.
"Eeeeh?" Polly confused.
"8 cavities and a whole lot of cricket legs." Mrs. Boonchuy explained
"Oooh Cricket legs? Did you save us any?" Hop Pop asked.
Anne grabs Hop Pop's cheeks and squeeze it
"Listen, Domino is not just a cat. She's that alpha and omega. An interdimensional being beyond all time and space." said Anne dizziness.
"W- What's that now?" Hop Pop confused.
"Do me next! Do me next!" said Sprig ambitious.
"Hey. Do you guys actually wanna keep her occupied for a bit? Because that'd be super helpful. Thanks!" said Mr. Boonchuy as he and his wife ran off leaving Anne and the Plantars.
"OK. Can you let go of my face?" said Hop Pop.
"Never. We are one." replied Anne.
This might take a while until it wears off from Anne. Domino standing in front, dropping things from the table, and wiping herself with her tongue.
