Chapter 15: Fight at the Museum
Around dawn, the Plantars are sleeping peacefully in Anne's room. Sprig is sleeping on Anne's bean bag chair, Polly is sleeping with Domino on the cat bed, and Hop Pop is sleeping on Anne's bed. But for Anne, she's been up all night on her laptop finding a way to get them home.
She finds every website that has all information like Wikipedia, Google, YouTube, and all other websites she's been through, but still no answers about the portal. When the sun rise, Anne's been struggling to stay awake, but nearly fall asleep while the Plantars are already awake and went for breakfast. She was about to send the message, but suddenly, she hears her mom's calling.
"Anne! Breakfast!" Mrs. Boonchuy hollered.
"I'll just hit send real-"
"NOW!"
"YEP! OKAY! OKAY!" Anne startled as she drops her laptop getting dressed.
Meanwhile, donwstairs in the living room, the Plantars are watching TV eating their cereal for breakfast. Anne sat down while she was holding her cereal and groaning at the same time. They noticed that Anne is extremely tired.
"Whoa. Someone didn't sleep." said Sprig.
"Nope. I spent all night researching ways to get you guys home, and possibly the night before that." replied Anne.
Mrs. Boonchuy enters the living room placing her hand on Anne's hair.
You? Researching? Who are you and what happened to my daughter?" teased Mrs. Boonchuy.
"Har har. So I was thinking. What if there's a second calamity box here on Earth? So I mapped out every thrift store in a 50-mile radius and if we leave right now-"
"Pass. Primistle Manor isn't gonna binge itself-" Polly commented, but her words cut off.
"EVERYONE QUIET! Lord Frankerton is confessing his love for Lady Franklin!" said Hop Pop hushing them.
"My dearest, Lady Franklin. I simply cannot contain my passion for you any longer.
"My dearest, Lady Franklin. I simply cannot contain my passion for you any longer."
"Oh, Lord Frankerton!"
The Plantars were amazed at the the scene where two couples are holding their pinkies.
"Amazing!" said Hop Pop.
"(gasp) I'm shook!" Polly gasp.
"And it only took three seasons!" Sprig commented.
"(sigh) Why does it feel like I'm the only one trying to find a way back to Amphibia?" said Anne left out.
"Anne, we have been trying. But, it's okay to take a day off to recharge every now and then."
"There's no time, you guys. Come on. Let's get back to research."
Mrs. Boonchuy turns off the TV and stood in front of Anne and the Plantars.
"Since you seems to enjoy research so much now, what if you all spent a day at the museum and wrote a report? You have a lot of make up schoolwork to do." said Mrs. Boonchuy.
She points her finger where Anne's schoolwork was left alone at the table that was covered by webs and dust. Anne hasn't been used since she's been gone to Amphibia for five months. Then Anne and the Plantars were groaning.
"OH! DO WE HAVE TO!?"
"Yes. I'm also cleaning the house. There's slime everywhere and I'm not pointing fingers, but I need you all out of the way."
They looked around and see that the whole room was covered by chunks of slime thanks to the frogs.
"Gross, Anne." said Polly.
Meanwhile at the rent apartment, the Pines Family are getting ready for their trip. Dipper is writing down his own journal while Mabel is eating her cereal for breakfast now wearing her rainbow sweater. Stanford is looking through the internet to search for clues while Stanley is dressing up his suit and his fez hat that he once wears it back in Gravity Falls.
"Any luck?" Stan asked.
"No. I search everywhere throughout the internet and still no sign of the music box, but that's all I ever find when the box was stolen five months ago." replied Ford.
"Why don't we head to the museum and search for more clues?" Stan suggested.
"I guess your right-" Ford pause for a moment when notice that his twin brother is wearing his suit attire. "Are you wearing that suit back in Gravity Falls?"
"What? I have to look clean while my clothes are in the laundry." replied Stan.
"Apparently, you left Soos in charge while were gone." said Ford.
"Yeah, I trusted him to look after the shack until we get back."
"Sometimes profound, sometimes absurd, it's Soos says Some Words".
The image shows Soos wearing his attire in front of the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls with the music is playing, but the letter 'S' fell when it says 'hack'.
"Hey, Grunkle Ford? How much longer do we have to stay for rent?" Dipper asked.
"Until we find this unidentified anomaly, we have to keep looking. I can feel it." replied Ford.
"Well, according to this, I've written down about the music box that you shown us and I think the frogs we encountered are not from Earth."
"What do you mean, Dipper?" Mabel asked.
"My guess that they could be from another world." Dipper guessed. "It's not like from a dimension where Bill comes from, but a different dimension."
"Perhaps you're right about this. Looks like were going to visit to the Museum of Natural History to find out more about the frogs." said Ford.
"Should frogs be at the zoo?" Mabel confused.
"Yes, but we're talking about frogs from another world. I say we leave at once."
"Woo-hoo! Museum!" Mabel cheered. C'mon girls! We're going to the museum!"
"Do we have to?" Pacifica asked pop her head out.
"Yes, you two are coming." replied Mabel.
"Cool! I've always wanted to see how big this is." said Wendy comes out from their room.
"Oh, trust me. You gonna love this when we get there." said Dipper.
"Alright, kids. Let's get moving." Ford announced as they about to leave.
"Waddles, you're in charge until we come back." said Mabel talking to her pig.
"Oink oink." replied Waddles.
Once the Pines left along with Wendy and Pacifica, the TV was turned on by Stan so that Waddles can entertained himself. Meanwhile from the outside above the rent apartment, the pigeons flew off when the Cloak-Bot emerged from invisible. It already repaired its face and resume searching for its target. It started to scan through out the city until it spotted at the cable tower.
"Energy sensor unresponsive. Will attempt to hack in local frequencies."
The Cloak-Bot turns invisible and then jumped off to get to the cable tower.
Meanwhile in front of the Museum of Natural History, Mrs. Boonchuy parked the car where she drops off Anne and the Plantars. They got out from the car and closed it behind them.
"I'll pick you up at 6. Have fun! But also learn!" said Mrs. Boonchuy.
They all groaned as Mrs. Boonchuy puts on her glasses listening to the music and drove away. As they entered inside, the Plantars were amazed by the artifacts at the museum where everyone was looking around studying. It even shows some dinosaur fossils such as Tyrannosaurus Rex and Kronosaurus. The Plantars has never been to the museum that huge before.
They walk closer to the T. Rex bones and looked at it. Anne remembers when she used to visit to the museum on her school trip along with her friends. Right now, she started to get a little tired since she's been up all night searching for a ways to get them back home. The Plantars were staring at the bones curious.
"What is that?" Sprig asked curious.
"It's a dinosaur." Anne answered.
"What's a dinosaur?"
"Dinosaurs are prehistoric reptiles meaning terrible lizards. I've been to the museum before once I was on school trip with my friends. That one where you look at it is Tyrannosaurus Rex."
"Cool!" Sprig amazed.
"Is it real?" Polly asked.
"Probably, but when the meteor crash landed on Earth, it wiped out all of the dinosaurs from existence. We used to have some crazy dangerous stuff in my world too!" replied Anne.
"That's just a bird, Anne." Hop Pop commented at the T. Rex bones.
"It may be a bird, but still a reptile."
While Anne was discussing with Hop Pop, Sprig walked over to see a raptor sculpture. Sprig was fascinated by the dinosaurs.
"Whoa! Looks like you guys used to have a monster problem too."
Later on, Anne and the Plantars walk into the Solar System room where most people talks about space. They looked at the the earth globe when the both Sprig and Polly were amazed while Anne yawns. Hop Pop was all confused about the globe.
"Wait, your people think the world is round?!" Hop Pop asked.
Few hours later, they went the other part of the exhibits where humans were evolved. Polly walk closer to the cavemen sculpture. Polly was fascinated at the sculptures where one of the cavemen hit the other one with the club on his hand.
"Wow. I like these guys. They get it." Polly commented.
"See? We can have a fun one-off just like we did in Amphibia." Hop Pop looked and sees Anne on her laptop, but sleeping. "Anne? Anne?"
"What?" Anne startled when closing her laptop.
"You got to take a break from all this research!"
"Don't worry, HP. I'm fine, I'm fine."
"Burning yourself out isn't going to help us get home to Amphibia."
Anne rolled her eyes, until then she spread her eyes wide open when she saw something.
"Amphibia." said Anne surprised.
"Yeah, that's what I said." said Hop Pop.
"No, look!"
Anne pointed at the vase as they come across a piece of pottery that features a frog and more importantly, the Calamity Box. They started to realize that the box is not the only one in her world.
"Call me crazy. But that looks like..." said Sprig notice this.
"One of us." said Polly finish the sentence.
"I see you folks interested in the museum."
They turned around and saw Scrooge and his nephews as they came to visit. Anne was surprised to see the McDuck family are here to visit. Polly and Hop Pop were smiling that they see each other again.
"Mr. McDuck?" Anne surprised.
"Hey guys!" Polly greeted smiling.
"Hi Polly!" The triplets greeted.
"Well, hello Mr. McDuck. What brings you here?" said Hop Pop.
"I thought I could stop by on me way visit to the museum. I didn't realize that you were here too." replied Scrooge.
"Well, Mrs. Boonchuy dropped us off here to clean up the house."
"This place is so huge! It has everything!" said Sprig astonishing.
"Why yes, it is. I've been traveled to many adventures and hunting treasures for years along with me lads that is."
"Yeah, like we might solve mystery." said Huey,
"Or rewrite history." Louie added.
"Like that one." said Dewey pointed at the vase.
They turned their head back at the vase. Scrooge and the triplets walk closer and looked carefully.
"Is that what I think it is?" said Scrooge.
"Oh, uh... I have never seen it before in my life." said Anne covering up in case they don't know about the frogs existence. The Plantars noticed that Anne is sweating.
"Really? Let's take closer look." said Scrooge looking a bit closer then he started to recognize that the box was in the poetry. "Bless me bagpipe! It's the music box!"
"Wait. You knew about the box?" Anne asked curiously.
"Aye, I've been studying this for over five months while you were missing. I heard the rumors when the box was stolen from the thrift store." Scrooge explained "You didn't have to happen about the box, have you?"
She didn't realize that Scrooge has been studying about the box, but she was nervous when Scrooge was suspicious about her misdeeds thanks to her friends daring her to stole the box on her birthday before disappearance.
"Nope. Never seen it." Anne covered up.
"Hmm, I see. Well in any case, it appears that this box is not the only one on this world. I believe that someone was here as well that came travel to another world."
"I don't believe it. Could this be the clue we've been looking for?" said Anne talking to herself.
Suddenly, a random person touches Anne shoulders.
"Didn't expect to see frogs in here, eh?"
"Ah!" Anne yelped.
She turned herself around and looked at the paleontologist woman, Dr. Jan the same woman from the museum. Anne barely recognized her when she was only five years old, but right now the Plantars hid behind Anne's back.
"What? Frogs? Huh?"
Both Scrooge and Dr. Jan stares at her, confused.
"Oh, you're talking about the pot." said Anne.
"Sure! What did you think I was talking about? Name's Dr. Jan. I'm a curator here and an AVID lover of all things ancient." said Dr. Jan introduced herself winked her eye.
"Why'd she wink at me?" Hop Pop whispered to Polly.
"Ah, a paleontologist. A pleasure to meet you. Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck of Duckburg and an adventurer who loves mystery." said Scrooge shaking his hands with Dr. Jan.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. McDuck. I can tell, you and I have the same common." replied Dr. Jan.
"Yes, indeed. So tell me, do you know anything about the pot?" Scrooge asked.
"So, staring at this pot, eh? Interesting, isn't it? The frog here is depicted in a very unconventional fashion bipedal. Oh! It must have been some kind of deity."
"Oh, you don't say." said Anne.
"Maybe it's a frog-shaped alien right from another dimension." Dr. Jan guessed.
The Plantars began to sweat. They felt nervous when Dr. Jan guess that the frogs are from another world, but didn't notice that she's on to them. Sprig chuckled nervously.
"What?" Hop Pop confused.
"Frog-shaped?" Polly added.
"Sorry, sorry. I'm really into cryptids. You know, UFO's and stuff." Dr. Jan laughed when shows one of her UFO earrings. "Anyway, you got any other questions?"
"Do you know anything about portals to-"
Anne covered Sprig's mouth to avoid any more secrets.
"Nope. Not at all. Actually, I hate the museums. Yuck." Anne lied.
Oh. That's too bad and kind of insulting. Well. if you changed your mind, just holler "Dr. Jan" and I'll fly in like an information superhero. Uh... Dr. Jan away!" said Dr. Jan makes a flying superhero pose and leaves the area when walks in reverse while moving her arms like noodles.
Anne and the Plantars felt uncomfortable. Once she's gone, Anne removes her hand from Sprig's mouth. Scrooge turns his head at Anne with disapproval look.
"What?" Anne asked.
"Hey! Why did you blow her off? Maybe she knows something." Sprig suggested.
"What? Come on, dude. We don't know anything about that lady. How do you know we can trust her?" replied Anne as she recalls.
"Paranoid much?" asked Polly
"But that thing's our first real clue." said Hop Pop.
"Agreed. We can't just drop it. What if there's a map painted on the bottom? Or a secret code that only shows up under black light?" said Anne suggested.
"Well, if you don't wanna ask that Dr. Jan for help, what are we gonna do? Rob the museum?"
Scrooge started to laugh disbelieve at Hop Pop's sarcastic suggestions until he stops laughing and staring at them realize that he's taking serious.
"Wait. Are you serious?" Scrooge asked.
"Well...no?"
"You're not planning to rob the museum? Are you?" Dewey asked.
"What? Me? No! Of course not!" Anne fakery denied it. "Maybe?"
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Scrooge warned her.
"What are you talking about?" Anne asked.
"The last time that the box was stolen, it could be either you or anyone." Scrooge guessed it.
"I do no such thing!"
"Prove it."
"Look, I just had a stressful day at home and I'm trying to figure my way out."
"Very well, I best I'll be on my way then. And try not to do anything reckless while I'm gone. C'mon along kids." said Scrooge as he walked away.
"Bye Polly!" The triplets waved at Polly.
"Bye guys!" Polly waved at her new friends.
By the time Scrooge and the triplets left, the Plantars looked at Anne when they noticed what's going to happen next.
"I might have an idea, but you're not gonna like this." said Anne when they left the room.
While they didn't noticed as they passed by, the Pines and their friends entered the museum as they walk out from one the exhibits. They spread out and looking for something.
"Alright, this is it. Our first clue that lead us here to solve the mystery." said Dipper.
Mabel looked at the cavemen sculptures and then she laugh at that part.
"Ha ha, cave people." Mabel chuckled.
Pacifica was looking at poetry curiously, but then she stop and looked at the ancient vase that was shown the music box with a frog jumped out from the portal. She raised her eyebrows.
"Hey guys, you should come see this." Pacifica called out.
They walked over where Pacifica was standing and staring at the vase. Both Dipper and Ford were amazed as they discovered something.
"Incredible!" said Ford astonishing.
"Is that the music box?" Dipper asked.
"Yes! I've been studying this history for very long time. I was right. The box does exists." replied Ford.
"Look. There's a frog on the pottery." said Mabel.
"Hmm, it looks like some theories are true. The last thing I remember where all anomalies are from. It is not an another dimension that I've been through, there could be more than one dimensions."
"The multiverse." said Dipper.
"Exactly." Ford agreed.
"Yeah, that's great. Let's just take it and go." Stan suggested.
"That's not how it works, Stan. We need to talk to the curator who's in charge here."
"I have to agree on this one." Dipper agrees with Ford.
Suddenly, they heard a male announcer from the speaker.
"Ladies and gentlemen, just for the reminder that the museum will be closed in about 1 hour. You only have a few minutes before the museum is closed. Thank you."
Then they all groaned.
"Bummer. We've spent hours looking for this?" said Wendy.
"Yeah, this stinks." replied Pacifica.
"Hey don't feel bad, girls. We can come back tomorrow." Mabel suggested.
"Or we could do it the old fashion way." said Stan when rubbing his hands together.
"Oh no! We are not going to rob the vase!" Ford disagrees.
"Look, we're not gonna rob the vase. We're just gonna take look it and search for clues. There has to be hidden language or something."
"We are not criminals!"
"Hey! Break it up you two." said Wendy breaking up the arguments. "Either we waited out until tomorrow or are we gonna sit there let anything happen if the vase was stolen."
They give each other a glance. They started to think if Wendy says something about the plan.
"What choice do we have?" Ford asked.
Back at the Boonchuys residence, Mrs. Boonchuy has already picked up Anne and the Plantars by six and brought them back home by the time she already cleans up the house. Later on, they meet in Anne's room to organize the plan, but Hop Pop is seen disgusted.
"I still can't believe we're robbing the museum." Hop Pop exclaimed.
Anne covers Hop Pop's mouth to shush him when her mother opens the door. They get nervous when they heard Mrs. Boonchuy's tone.
"Anne? You guys okay in here?
"All good! Just finishing that report!" Anne lied.
"Don't believe you, but okay." said Mrs. Boonchuy and closes the door. They sighed in relief.
"Looks like she bought it." said Polly.
But Anne starts to fall asleep again.
"Anne?" Sprig asked.
"Huh? Where was I? Oh yeah." Anne woke up and then turns the sheet. "We did way more dangerous stuff in Amphibia. At least nothing's here gonna spit acid at us."
"That you know of." Polly commented while Anne went to the closet
"Come on, guys. If you don't break a few rules for this, how are we ever gonna get back?"
The Plantars looked at each other. They knew that Anne wanted to bring them back to Amphibia, but they don't like the fact that Anne's plan was to rob the museum. Then they have no choice, but to go along with it.
"So, what's the plan?" Sprig asked.
Anne takes out black clothes while making a boyish laugh. Anne put on her black shirt with a skull on it, black jeans, black boots, and black bean hat. Sprig and Hop Pop are putting on their black jackets. Polly got her black vest borrowed from her too big, so she clears her throat to Anne to get her attention. She sees it and sees a pair of scissors and then came up with a few cuts.
"Aha, very into this." Polly impressed.
Later that evening back at the museum, Anne and the Plantars are in the museum and sees a couple of security officers with their name tags, Mitchell and Rodney guarding the the front door.
"First, we gotta distract the guards. Hop Pop?" said Anne.
"On it."
"So, my question is how did those bones get underground in the first place?" asked Mitchell.
Suddenly, Hop Pop appears as a cat dressing up getting the security guards attention, but didn't notice that Hop Pop dressed up as a cat.
"Meow! I'm a cat!" said Hop Pop pretend to be a cat.
He plays with Mitchell a bit and then takes off her left shoe as he fled off.
"Hey! My shoe!" exclaimed Mitchell.
"After that fabulous cat!" ordered Rodney as they chase after Hop Pop.
Anne, Sprig, and Polly arrived at the front door.
"Then Polly, you get inside."
Anne propels Polly up so that she enters through the duct enter the museum and then open the front doors.
"Sup, fools?" Polly smug.
Anne and Sprig enter the museum as the door closed behind them.
"Lastly, Sprig, you take out all the cameras."
Sprig jumps up and smashes all the cameras with his tongue, but was later spotted by Cloak-Bot, who managed to get the location picking up with it's huge antenna disk on it's right arm.
"Target found!"
The Cloak-Bot switched its arm back to normal is it hop its way to the museum.
Meanwhile in downtown, The Pines and their friends got out from the diner restaurant that they had for dinner. As they walking down on the sidewalk, they were having a discussion.
"This cheeseburger was so delicious." said Mabel.
"Well, guess I'm pretty full. Huh?" said Dipper.
"You know, Ford. Maybe your right. We'll have to come back and visit to the museum tomorrow." said Stan.
"I'm glad that you changed your mind." said Ford.
Suddenly, they heard a beeping sound. Ford looked at his watch that's been beeping and it shows a holographic of tracking system with a dot. He raised his eyebrows when the red dot appeared on the holographic screen.
"There it is!"
"What is it, Grunkle Ford?" Mabel asked.
"I'm picking up a tracking and it's heading for the direction." Ford explained.
"Then where is it heading?" Dipper asked.
"My guess is that it's heading right into..." Ford pause for a moment and looked back where they walk all the way out and he realized something where it's heading. "The museum!"
"(gasp) That's where we visit! We have to stop it!" Mabel exclaimed.
"Then what are we waiting for? C'mon!" said Stan.
The Older Pines Twins and the teens ran towards back to the museum where they visit.
Back at the museum, Anne, Sprig, and Polly are waiting for Hop Pop returns until he came back as fast as he could changing his clothes back.
"Those guards got tired of chasing me and stopped at a coffee shop. We got a good 20 minutes." said Hop Pop reporting.
"Nicely done. Now, all we have to do is... is..." Anne fell asleep a bit.
"Hey! Anne!" Polly slaps her to wake up. "Not a good time to nap!"
"Right. Sorry. Let's do this thing." said Anne.
The Plantars look at each other and start to worry about Anne. They already knew that she's really tired, but they don't want to let her down. They've got work to do. Back from the outside of the museum, The Pines family arrive at the front door, but didn't notice that it was locked.
"We're here! But the door is locked. We have to find a way is to-" Ford cut himself when he pulled the handle by opening the door. He was surprised that it was unlocked.
"Hmm, that's strange. The door should've been locked."
"Guess we're not alone. Are we?" said Dipper.
"There's only one way to find out." said Wendy.
They got inside to the museum and ran quietly as they close the door behind them.
"Alright, everyone spread out and search for the anomaly." said Dipper.
They nodded. Dipper and Mabel went to the artifact room while Stan and Ford went to the opposite way where they are heading to the space room. Wendy and Pacifica are heading towards to the fossil section.
Meanwhile, Anne and the Plantars arrive in the room where the vase is located, Anne stares at it when there were lasers all over the room.
"Ugh, that's a lot of lasers." said Anne.
"Don't worry. I got this." said Polly.
She walks at a brisk pace, jumps and her teeth to open a hole in the glass and with her tongue, she takes the vase and stands on top of the pedestal.
"Aha!" Polly cheered.
"Wow! That was easy." said Sprig impressed.
"This isn't a movie, Sprig. Not everything has a dramatic twist." said Anne.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!"
Anne, Sprig, and Hop Pop quickly turned around and looked shock as they are staring at Dipper and Mabel right in front of them. Anne and the Plantars gasps. And so does the Pines Twins.
"IT"S YOU! THE GIRL WHO'S BEEN MISSING AND DRIVING A FOOD TRUCK!" Mabel yells pointing her finger.
"AH! THE PINES TWINS!" Sprig yells pointing his finger.
"Wait! You know them!?" Anne asked shockingly.
"Uh...maybe now is it good time to talk?" Hop Pop asked nervously.
"Oh, we have plenty of time to talk. Who are you and why are you robbing the museum?" said Dipper sternly.
Anne was shocked that the Plantars knew about the Pines Twins, but they didn't even tell her while she was gone to the dentist. When she was about to explain, but then there was a noise window smash of something falling, it was Cloak-Bot, who went through a skylight and when landing, it stands up and laughs, but it goes through the lasers and that activates an alarm.
Anne and the Plantars were shocked to see that the Cloak-Bot was here. Even the Pines Twins were shocked that the Cloak-Bot was the anomaly all this time.
"Not you again!"
Cloak-Bot slash, so Polly runs while screaming, puts the vase in Anne's backpack, and then they proceed to escape along with the Pines Twins while screaming. Cloak-Bot chases after them and shoots laser eyes at them.
Cut to Stan and Ford, they heard the alarm as the kids screams. They turned their heads around and shock to hear them screaming.
"Kids!" Stan exclaimed it.
Cut to Wendy and Pacifica, they heard an alarm as they heard the scream as well.
"Dipper?!" Wendy shocked.
"Mabel!" Pacifica exclaimed.
Anne, Dipper, and Mabel takes one path and the Plantars takes another path. Cloak-Bot looks for Anne and notices where she escapes as it reaches out its left hand, grabs a sachograph, and when it opens it, it was Anne looking like a pharaoh and then she runs off again.
"Hey!" Polly shouted.
The Cloak-Bot turned its head around and sees The Plantars are seen lined up in a tower, Hop Pop at the base, Sprig in the middle with armor and a pair of swords, and Polly on top with a stinging ball.
"Leave Anne ALONE!" Polly throws the stinging ball at Cloak-Bot.
But the Cloak-Bot catches the stinging ball and throws it back at the Plantars, causing them to collapse. It refocuses on Anne, and shoots its laser eyes. Anne and the Pines Twins dodges the attack and runs into a giant guillotine. Cloak-Bot turned its right arm into drills and throws it at Anne, but ducks down, causing Cloak-Bot to get stuck in the wall, then suddenly, it looked up Hop Pop holding on to the guillotine knife.
"EAT THE RICH!"
Hop Pop dropped the guillotine knife, causing Cloak-Bot to cut into its arm screaming. Anne, the Plantars, and the Pines Twins escape from the Cloak-Bot. They were running through the hallway as they ran upstairs.
"Okay, first question, why are you robbing the vase? And second, WHAT HECK IS THAT THING?!" Dipper frantic.
"It's a robot that tried to kill us!" Polly answered.
"Wait! Robot?" Mabel asked.
"Long story. We'll explain later." said Anne.
As soon as they reach to the top, they stop running and they are taking a breath. Then they heard the uncles calling.
"Kids!" Ford called.
They looked at Ford and Stan running towards them along with Wendy and Pacifica, but Anne and the Plantars could barely recognized at Stan wearing his suits shockingly mistaken that Stan was almost looks like a curator toad.
"Grunkle Ford! Grunkle Stan!" Mabel called.
"YOU!" The Plantars pointed at Stan.
"ME?!" Stan confused.
Then Stan was tumbled by the Plantars ad they fell to the floor. Ford and the teens were shocked that the Plantars are attacking Stan. Hop Pop took a grip on Stan's collar glaring. Sprig is holding his slingshot aiming at his forehead.
"I don't know how you got out of the shack, but you can't fool me, Toad!" said Hop Pop angrily towards at Stan.
"Yeah! And how did you got here in the first place?!" said Sprig aiming at him.
"What the heck!? I don't even know you!" Stan exclaimed.
"Guys! Stop! That's Stan! He's our grunkle!" Mabel yells.
"Grunkle?!" The Plantars confused.
"Yes! I'm their niece and nephew. Will you please get off me!" Stan snapped.
The Plantars nervously got off of Stan as he stands up as he wiped himself off.
"Sorry about that. We thought you were someone else." Sprig apologized.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't sweat it, kid." said Stan sarcastically.
"Now can anyone tell me what's going on?" Ford asked anxious.
"There's a killer robot that tried to kill us!" Mabel answered.
"Robot?"
"It's true! That robot over there looks resemble to a frog and it shoots lasers at us!" said Dipper.
"Of course! The robot must be an anomaly we were looking for!" said Ford.
"Anomaly?" Anne curious.
"Yeah, there hasn't been anomaly sightings for over seven years until today that is." said Mabel
"Not only that, the Plantars were here too after we met each other two days ago." Dipper added.
"Are you telling me that you met them while I was at the dentist and you didn't even telling me?!" said Anne sternly.
"We're sorry! We didn't know if they were gonna report to the police." said Sprig feeling hurt a bit.
"The police?! Why in the world would we ever do that?" Ford confused.
"Even if you did, they'll gonna hand us over to the government and dissect us!" Polly answered.
The Pines family looked at each other sadly. They knew that the Plantars are not really a threat. Both Dipper and Mabel are telling the truth. And then they looked back at the Plantars.
"We're not going to turn you in. Dipper told me everything about your presence. I wanna help some creatures to find a better place and prevent all this by falling to the wrong hands. And that's why we are here to stop this robot." said Ford as he explained.
"How're we gonna stop this thing?" Hop Pop asked.
Anne looked at the Kronosaurus bones hanging on the ceiling.
"I think I just got an idea."
Later on, the Cloak-Bot returns and sees its right arm arm severed. Suddenly, Anne catches its eye while she carries a sword.
"Hey, can opener! Wanna fight? I'm all yours!" Anne taunted.
The Cloak-Bot jumps up and stands in front of her as it prepares for battle.
"Let's rumble, robot!"
Cloak-Bot makes an ax hand. A fight between Anne and Cloak-Bot begins. Anne looks up at the Kronosaurus skeleton, where Sprig cuts a rope with a knife and passes it to Polly, she grabs it in her teeth and cuts another rope, she passes it to Hop Pop, he takes it from his tongue and cuts another rope.
From the bottom, Ford got his laser gun ready. Stan is holding out a crow bar. Wendy pulled out her trustworthy axe. Dipper is carrying a sword. Mabel is holding out her grappling hook. And finally, Pacifica is holding out a pitchfork from the medieval section.
As the battle comes to an end, the Cloak-Bot knocks Anne down, causing her to lose her sword. It prepares to make a final blow as it staring at Anne.
"Any last words?"
"You're history. KAW-CAW! "
Anne makes a condor noise, signal that the Plantars proceed to jumped off so that all the ropes are broken and the Kronosaurus skeleton falls on Cloak-Bot. Anne does a pirouette to dodge. They were coughing when the dust settles.
"Anne!" Hop Pop called out.
The Plantars and the Pines ran over to Anne as she's stands up.
"Don't worry, guys. We got him." said Anne.
Suddenly, the Cloak-Bot breaks free with some damages and reaches out to catch Anne and picks her up in the air. She tries to break free, but it's too strong.
"No, YOU'RE history."
While the Cloak-Bot laugh evilly, The Plantars and the Pines were shockingly horrified. Ford aimed his gun at the Cloak-Bot as he was about pull the trigger, but then the door bursts open when Scrooge, Dr. Jan, and the security officers.
"Freeze! Put your hand in the...air?"
They all looked at the Cloak-Bot. Anne, the Plantars, The pines, and the Cloak-Bot were noticed their presence.
"ALERT! ALERT! DO NOT BE SEEN!"
Anne kicks the Cloak-Bot and breaks free from its grasp. Then the Cloak-Bot escapes by sawing into a skylight. Both Scrooge and Dr. Jan couldn't believe that they have witness where the Cloak-Bot exists.
"No way. A robot?" said Dr. Jan.
"Dress me kilt." said Scrooge.
Then they looked at Anne, the Plantars, and the Pines as they helped her up.
"I'm fine, HP." said Anne.
"Thank frog no one got hurt." said Hop Pop.
Then all of sudden, Anne quickly realized that their disguises falls off right in front other Scrooge, Dr. Jan, and the security officers.
"Oh no. Guys, your disguises!" Anne frantic.
"Frog aliens?" Dr. Jan gasps.
"What the?" The security officers said together.
"I...I can't believe I forgot! Mitchell, Rodney, this has been a terrible misunderstanding. These are... performers rehearsing an exciting historical reenactment of some kind. We'll clean this mess up tomorrow. You two can go home. I'll take it from here." said Dr. Jan covering up their existence.
"Phew!"
"Thank goodness." said Rodney
"I knew it!" said Mitchell.
"Goodnight, Dr. Jan." The security guards left the museum. Anne walk closer to Dr. Jan nervously. She knew she was in big trouble.
"Oh, heeey, Dr. Jan. Sooo, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this." said Anne nervously.
She was expected to be yelled at, but instead, Dr. Jan grabbed her shoulders smiling.
"And I can't wait to hear it. Frog aliens? Robots? Spill it, kid! This is a dream come true!" said Dr. Jan excited.
The Pines were confused at first, but then Scrooge jumps to conclusion.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Scrooge snaps.
Then they all looked at Scrooge when he's glaring. Ford steps up as he begin to explain.
"Sir, if you just let us explain-" Ford's words were cut off when recognized Ford's twin brother
"Stanley Pines." said Scrooge recognized.
Then they turned their heads at Stanley who was glaring at Scrooge.
"Scrooge McDuck." said Stan sternly.
"Wait. You two know each other." Ford asked.
"It's funny you asked, the last time I saw him when he last visit to Hollywood swindling me money." said Scrooge pointing his cane at Stan.
"Hey! It was just some souvenir if you ask me." Stan argue back.
"You got a lot of nerve showing your face around here, Pines. Ever since the media spread, we all thought you were dead! At first I thought it was actually your brother, but then it all turns out, it has to be you!"
"What did you do, Stan?" Ford asked sternly.
"Okay, you caught me. I did tried to steal the money until I was banished from Hollywood. Is that all you have to say?" replied Stan.
"Not only that, I realized something was wrong here. Not only that the box was stolen from five month, but you are trying to steal something that is valuable! By turning this girl into a burglar!" Scrooge point his cane at Anne.
"Excuse me! I would do no such thing!" Stan snapped.
"Really, Stan? If it's not you, then why would Anne tried to stole the vase in the first place?" said Dipper sternly.
"Now see here, young man. Anne will never do such a thing!" said Hop Pop as he steps up sternly.
"Who side are you on, gramps?" Pacifica asked.
"Hey! Don't you talk about Hop Pop that way, pretty girl!" Polly snapped at Pacifica.
"You got problem with that, tadpole?!" Pacifica threatens Polly.
"C'mon guys! Were on the same team!" said Mabel trying to break up the fight.
Then they all started to bickering at each other. Ford tried to break up the fight from Stan and Scrooge while Mabel and Sprig tried to break up the fight in between Dipper, Pacifica, Polly, and Hop Pop. The only persons are not into argument are Anne, Wendy, and Dr. Jan.
"This is never gonna work out." Wendy mumbled when face palming.
Anne was just standing there shockingly that all of her friends are arguing each other. She started this. She can't keep her secrets any longer the more fight breaks out. She took a deep breath and then she shouted out.
"ENOUGH!"
They stop arguing and looked at Anne when she outburst at them. Dr. Jan was surprised that Anne just yells at them. She sighed.
"You're right. I am a thief." Anne confessed.
Scrooge and the Pines raised their eyebrows. Anne continues her sentences.
"It was a day on my birthday, five months ago when Sasha and I ditched school by playing games and doing graffiti artist, then all of sudden, Marcy send a text when she saw the music box from the thrift store. They dared me to stole the box without paying. And by night, when I open the box, we vanish."
Now Scrooge realize what Anne said was true. He change his expression into worrying glance.
"It took me five months to get back home. Marcy was the reason why I was stranded away from my parents, my life. I couldn't even blame her all because she was afraid of being left alone when her parents are planning to move away fearing that it would tear our friendship apart and now it did. Here I am back home. That is why it was my idea to steal this."
Once Anne done telling the truth, she took off her backpack as she pulls out the vase showing to them. Dr. Jan gently took the vase from Anne and looked at to see that there's no damaged. Anne looked down shamefully. The Plantars were worried at Anne. Then Pines realized their misunderstanding.
"I'm sorry I lied to you. I'm just an irresponsible girl, like my mom used to think I was." Anne apologize quietly.
Scrooge walk towards Anne and stood right at her.
"Young lady. I would like to apologize for falsely accused you after you were vanished. I realize now when Mickey looked up to you when you were young." said Scrooge.
"Do you think so?" Anne asked softly.
"Yes, he told us everything of what happened back then. Thief or no thief. You're a good kid. You have shown kindness and a good heart. Right here." said Scrooge raised his cane as he pointed gently at her heart. Anne smiled softly.
"Thanks Mr. Scrooge." Anne thanked him.
"Now that settles it, let's hug it out each other!" said Mabel smiling.
They all apologized each other mumbling except Scrooge and Stan as they looked away from each other. Wendy crosses her arms when she smiled. Dipper walk towards to Anne.
"Hey, um... sorry that I accused you." Dipper apologized. "So, shall we start over?"
"Sure, I'm Anne, Anne Boonchuy." said Anne shaking her left hand with Dipper.
"My name is Dipper Pines. I know who you are."
"And I'm Mabel, the alpha twin! Put it there." Mabel jumps in as she shake her right hand.
Hop Pop walks towards to Anne and the Pines Twins when they looked at him.
"We can't do this on our own, Anne. Maybe it's time we try trusting someone." Hop Pop suggested.
Anne looked at Dr. Jan and smiled softly.
After a whole lot of explanation, Dr. Jan, she takes them to her office. She opens the door while she carries the vase.
"Wow. Sounds like you've been through a lot. I see why you're in such a rush for answers, but why the heist? Why didn't you just ask me?" said Dr. Jan.
"Uuhh... made sense earlier. If I'm honest, I'm sort of running on empty right now." replied Anne.
"She hasn't slept in days." Sprig commented.
"Well, that's no good. Here, look at this." said Dr. Jan shows them a sample. "Back when I was younger, I would stay up for days on a dig. I couldn't go home knowing we were so close. One time I got sloppy with a dynamite charge and well, this was a Triceratops."
They started to cringe at the simple and they disliked it.
"I won't even ask." said Dipper.
"What's a Triceratops?" Polly asked curiously.
"It's a three-horned lizard and a large herbivore." Dipper answered.
"I get it. So what you're saying is if I keep this up I may do more harm than good?" Anne asked.
"Here. I'll make you a deal. I'll keep your secret and help you research this artifact if you go home and get some sleep." said Dr. Jan offers her deal.
"Deal. Thanks, Dr. Jan. Real quick. Before we go..." Anne looks at the vase for a moment. "Do you have a black light? I wanna check and see if this baby has any secret codes on it."
"I have one, but I left it at the apartment." said Dipper.
"Black light?"
"Dr. Jan escorts them all back to the main entrance as they exist through the door.
"Go sleep. Take a day off. The world will still be spinning tomorrow." said Dr. Jan.
"Still not sold on this spinning globe theory." said Hop Pop.
"Goodnight, Dr. Jan!" Mabel waved at her as Dr. Jan waved back at them.
Once the door is close, they all looked at each other.
"So I guess we should be heading out too, huh?" Dipper asked.
"Yeah, I better get back home or my mom would noticed while I'm gone." said Anne.
"Don't you worry, I can take you home. I have Duckworth sitting in the car." said Scrooge.
"That's sounds nice." said Sprig.
"Well, better get going. It's getting a little late." said Ford.
"We'll come over and visit someday. After all were friends now. Right Pacifica?"
"Yeah, whatever." replied Pacifica.
"You folks take it easy." said Ford.
"Bye Anne! Bye Plantars!" Mabel waved.
"Goodnight!" said Anne and the Plantars as they walk away separately along with Scrooge.
"Man, heck of a day, huh?" said Mabel.
"Me too Mabel. Me too." replied Dipper.
Back at the Boonchuys residence, the car was parked as Anne and the Plantars got out while Scrooge was staying behind.
"Thanks for the lift, Mr. McD." said Sprig.
"The pleasure is all mine. If there's any problem, here's my number." said Scrooge handing over his card to Hop Pop.
"Why, thank you." Hop Pop thanked him.
"Now get some rest. You have plenty of time."
"Alright, goodnight." said Anne.
Scrooge close the door as the car drove off. They around the house and walk towards the door. When Anne was about to open the door, suddenly Mrs. Boonchuy opens the door when she puts her hands on her hips sternly.
"Young lady, where have you been?" said Mrs. Boonchuy.
"Oh, uh...we went back to the museum to study more." said Anne covering up her absence.
"Didn't you looked at my message?"
Anne pulls out her phone and looked at the message. Then she realized that she forgot to text her back because she put her phone into silent mode.
"I'm sorry, mom. I was just trying to figured it out how to get the Plantars back home. But I don't know what to do." Anne apologized.
Her mother raised her eyebrows as she changed her expression.
"Mrs. Boonchuy, please try to understand this. Anne work so hard to get us back home and we insist that she needs some rest." said Hop Pop softly to avoid any argument.
Mrs. Boonchuy looked at Hop Pop and then looked at Anne. Then she sighed.
"Okay, I'll left you off the hook, but if that happens again, no more electronics for a week. Understood?" Mrs. Boonchuy warned her daughter.
"Yes, mom." said Anne.
"Good. Now get some rest. We have a lot of work tomorrow."
"Goodnight, mom."
"Goodnight, sweetie." Mrs. Boonchuy peck her daughters forehead.
They walked inside the house as her mother close the door behind them.
The next day, Dr. Jan is shown investigating on her computer. She then she looks at the vase. She was curious about the vase when Anne told her about last night.
"Oh, what the heck?"
She turns off the light, closes the curtains and with a black light flashlight and investigates the vase until she found something and gasp.
"No way... You've got to be kidding me!"
I was originally planned to feature the McDuck Clans in this chapter, but instead that I decided to add Gravity Falls characters when they see each other again. Good thing I got it all worked out. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
