A/N: I have the rest of this story 100% mapped out. At this point it is looking to be roughly 54 chapters and an epilogue. I wanted to give you all a heads up, so you are prepared. I have another story in mind, but I have to wait for life to slow down before I get to that.

I am releasing this 3 days early since I am not sure how our move is going to go! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate 😊.

Chapter 43

Two Weeks Post Michigan Trip

Callie's POV

Laying in bed that morning Callie couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach. She had an engagement ring in her drawer, and she hadn't even asked the love of her life to live with her. At this point, wasn't it implied? Arizona had informed her of the hold out and CBA nonsense and she decided not to bring it up to her father. He knew that Arizona had nothing to do with it, but at the end of the day they were still competing interests.

Hearing the soft snores coming from beside her she rolled over and looked at the sleeping beauty next to her. She was going to ask. Finally ask her to move in. Callie gently began to rub up and down Arizona's back to wake her up. Hearing the frustrated sign of the woman beside her, Callie just chuckled.

"Good morning, love" She whispered.

"Mmmm Morning Babe." Arizona replied in a gravelly voice.

"I have to head to work in about an hour, but I wanted to ask you something. I couldn't wait any longer." Callie smiled widely.

She watched as Arizona scooted up against the headboard, steadying herself for the question. "okay?".

"Would you like to move in with Sof and I. These last months have been amazing. We have loved you being here. You just fit. You are part of this family. So. Please? Move in with us? Sof will probably be mad I didn't wait for her." Callie rambled out, playing with her hair in the way she does when she is nervous. Expecting Arizona to jump at the opportunity. She was a bit confused when the blonde just looked at her with a look of panic. The silence was deafening.

"Arizona…Words. Can you please say something?" Callie whispered.

"Um. Calliope, listen. I love living with you and Sofia. I really do. But are we there yet?" Arizona nervously looked at everything around her but Callie.

"Oh. Um. I – I okay. Okay." Callie mumbled and slipped out of bed.

"Calliope. Wait!" Arizona went after her. "I have to shower Arizona." Callie pulled away. She walked into the bathroom and closed the door. Clicking the lock behind her.

Arizona's POV

"Fuck" Arizona sighed. That did not go how she wanted it to.

"Calliope. Calliope open the door." Arizona yelled. Knocking on the door. "Calliope. Baby. Can we talk please?" Pounding at the door. Arizona shook her head now starting to get frustrated. She needed two minutes to explain what she meant.

Hearing Sofia's voice coming towards the room she quickly righted herself.

"Arizona. Where is Mami?" Sofia asked. "She is in the shower." Arizona responded shortly.

"Okay. Can you make pancakes?" Sofia grabbed her hand and started to pull her out of the room. Arizona looked back at the bathroom door but followed Sofia out into the kitchen. She busied herself with making a delicious breakfast and prepping Callie's coffee. Breakfast was Callie's favorite meal, so Arizona went all out. She cooked pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, cut up fresh fruit, yogurt, everything. Arizona needed a chance to explain herself before Callie went to work. They never really left things unresolved, and it made Arizona uneasy. Hearing the bedroom door open she quickly turned around, coffee in hand.

She was met with a frustrated looking Latina. "Good morning Mami! Look at all the breakfast!" Sofia greeted her mother. "Oh wow! This looks great." Callie smiled at her mini me. But the smile didn't reach her eyes. "Come on and sit down." Sofia started pulling her mother towards the table. Arizona had a plate already made up for her. "Mija, I have a meeting I have to get to. I'm sorry sweetie!" Callie kissed her cheek.

"You um. You said you had an hour." Arizona hesitantly said. "Yeah. But I have to go." Callie dryly responded.

Arizona watched as Callie walked out the door without so much as a goodbye. Shit.

Callie's POV

"Then she just asked if we are there yet? Like what the fuck Aria?!" Callie paced across her office while her sister sat in the chair behind her desk and watched. Aria swung by The Calliope after a panicked call from her sister.

"Have you ever thought of the fact that maybe she isn't ready? She hasn't had a serious relationship in a while. Would you rather her lie and then freak out afterwards?" Aria played devil's advocate.

"We literally sat on a bench, watching the sunset, and she talked to me about having children and growing old together. How do we go from that to we are not ready to live together? We have been living together for 4 months! Something has to be going on." Callie started to spiral.

"Cal. Breathe. You guys just need to talk." Aria shrugged simply.

"Jeeze! I didn't think of that! I TRIED to talk to her. She shot me down." Callie teared up.

"No. You said you walked into the bathroom and locked the door then fled out the door. Come on Callie." Aria approached her and wrapped her in a hug. "Lets go out tonight!" Aria quickly pushed her away and jumped up and down.

"I don't know Aria." Callie went back to her computer. She huffed at the outrageous amount of unread emails. "I might be here until I die. What the hell does your boyfriend do all day?" Callie mumbled.

"Okay sassy ass. I am going to go pick up the kids. Just go talk to her. If you choose not to, I will make Mark watch the girls and we can go drown your sorrows in Tequila." Aria waved as she walked out the door.

Callie leaned back and groaned. How on earth had her life gotten to this point AGAIN. Normally she would say she read the signs wrong but when someone literally lays out your life TOGETHER in front of you, you take the next reasonable step and move in with someone. Callie was pulled out of her thoughts by her phone vibrating. Seeing she had 6 missed texts she looked down at it.

2:10

Callie. Call me please.

2:15

Calliope. Come on.

2:22

Cal. Please. Can we talk?

2:35

Seriously. Please call me.

2:42

Baby. PLEASE!

3:00

8652 East Ave. 9pm. Please. I am not above begging. Meet me there.

Callie just rolled her eyes. She was not dealing with this right now.

Callie dug into her emails and drowned out the rest of the world. She texted Aria to ask her to keep Sof. Her and Arizona had to have the talk. If it all went down in a ball of flames Sofia shouldn't be there to witness it. Looking at her phone she realizes it is 8:50. She put the address into her phone and realized it was 10 minutes away. Grabbing her purse, she decided to head out.

Arizona's POV

Looking at the clock she was sweating. Literally sweating. 9:05pm. Callie hadn't responded if she was going to meet her, and she was freaking out at the idea that she might not show. Arizona had been planning this for weeks. Callie's question accelerated her timeline. It had to be perfect. She was barefoot pacing back and forth in the sand when she finally saw headlights. Her stomach dropped. She was hoping that the headlights were Callie's.

Looking around she took in her surroundings. It was perfect. This was it. She watched as the car in front of her turned off and someone stepped out. It was her. The goddess in the flesh. Here we go.

General POV

Callie walked towards the flickering lights on the beach. When she had passed the place twice and when she finally started down the road she could have sworn Arizona sent her the wrong address. It was just a long road to some beach. It wasn't until she saw Arizona's Jeep that she realized Arizona was indeed somewhere around here.

Arizona watched as Callie tentatively walked towards her trying her best to take in everything around her. She was clearly confused.

"Arizona. What?" Callie whispered as she approached. Her blonde was in a blue flowing dress. Her blonde curls hanging perfectly around her face. Barefoot in the sand. She looked perfect. When she got closer she realized the candles all surrounding them. There were maybe 300 feet from the ocean. Then it hit her. It hit her like a ton of bricks as the blonde in front of her lowered down to one knee. Her hands started to shake. Arizona reached for her hand and pulled her closer.

"Calliope." She whispered. Already on the verge of tears.

"Calliope. I. Gosh. I am so nervous." Arizona laughed. "You literally crashed into my life. You made me FEEL again. FEEL for the first time in God knows how long. You and Sofia you make life make sense. I didn't know what I needed until I met you. Then I met that little girl and I was GONE. OUR little girl. I don't want to move into your house because I bought this. I bought this for us." She gestured to the private beach surrounding them. "I bought 3 miles of private beach. I want to build a home here. Our home. Sofia's home. Our future children's home. I want to build it from scratch because I want everything here to be part of our story. A story we write for ourselves. I love your house. I do. I love what you have done with it. But Sofia and I agree that we want to live on the beach. I want the home and the life and everything with you. I want it all. But to have that. I need the best thing that has ever happen to me to be my wife. So, Calliope will you marry me?" Arizona asked. Tears flowing from her face.

Callie stood there. Unable to move. Was this a dream? She looked around the beach at the candles. She was about to respond when she heard it.

"MAMI! SAY YES!" Sofia screamed. Callie whipped her head around and saw the little brunette barreling towards her. Callie looked down at Arizona who was still on one knee.

"Yes. Yes Arizona. I will marry you!" Callie whispered. Before she could blink Arizona was wrapping her in her arms and swinging her around.

"YAY! MAMI!" Callie picked up Sofia and was quickly enveloped in a hug by Arizona. "She said yes, Mama" Sofia snuggled into Arizona.

"Yeah she did, baby. Yeah she did." Arizona locked eyes with Callie. Both of them locking in this moment. They were getting married, and Sofia had just called Arizona Mama for the first time. Life had never been better.

Arizona's POV

She said yes. She agreed to marry me!

"Can I put this ring on your finger?" Arizona whispered into Callie's ear. She maneuvered around the little girl in her arms. There was no way she was putting her down after she finally called her Mama. No way.

"Oh. I forgot about the ring!" Callie answered through tears.

"Well, I mean if you don't want one." Arizona joked.

"No Mami it is so pretty! I helped her pick it out." Sofia squealed.

"Wait. What?!" Callie was surprised. "When?" She asked.

"Before Michigan. We bought the beach and then we went shopping for a ring. Sofia was actually a really big help. So was your Dad." Arizona replied shyly.

Taking Callie's hand, she gently slid the ring on her left ring finger. She watched as Callie looked down at it and the blinding smile she was met with was enough to take her breath away.

"Wow." Was all Callie could say. "Just wow."

"Do you like it Mami? It is just like the one you tried on with Tia Aria!" Sofia smiled. Clearly the little girl had been paying attention on all their shopping trips where her and Aria jokingly tried on rings.

"I love it, Mija. Thank you, Arizona. I love you." Callie kissed Sofia's cheek and then pulled Arizona into a passionate kiss.

"Ewww. Mami. Mama. Stop!" Sofia whined.

"I will NEVER get tired of hearing that." Arizona whispered into Sofia. "I love you baby girl." She put Sofia down and walked Callie towards the beach.

Callie's POV

Callie couldn't stop staring at her ring. It was one large emerald cut diamond. The band wrapped in round diamonds. It was stunning.

"So... beach living? Clearly you have been influenced." Callie joked as Arizona pulled her towards the beach.

"Have you tried to say no to that little girl? Plus. You in a bikini on a daily basis may have motivated me a bit." Arizona grabbed Callie's ass as she flirted with her. "I have a lot of plans already drawn up and ideas. We have to sit down and discuss it, but your Dad has the best builders ready. Who knew the guys who throw up hotels are willing to do residential? Clearly Carlos Torres has a lot of pull. So as soon as we finalize all the plans they can have it built quickly." Arizona explained all that she had been working on behind the scenes.

"You've been busy." Callie observed with a smile.

"You have NO idea how hard it was telling you no today, Calliope. No idea. I wanted to pull the ring out and do it then seeing how hurt you were. But I-I. You deserved this."

"I was spiraling. I admit it." Callie laughed.

"Oh. Aria told me all about it. I had planned to get us both all dressed up and come out here. I am just glad you showed."

Shortly after Aria and Mark joined them on the beach along with Carlos and the girls. There was champagne and celebration. They facetimed Arizona's parents with Tim and Teddy and it was all perfect. She was on cloud 9. Aria and Mark took Sofia for the night. Aria leaving with a knowing look.

Driving home Callie couldn't help but feel herself buzzing. She couldn't believe that she was engaged to this beautiful woman. Pulling into the driveway of her home, Callie laughed as Arizona walked around and opened her car door.

"Tonight, was perfect, Arizona. Truly. Thank you." Callie looked over at Arizona.

"You bet, my beautiful fiancé." Arizona smiled.

At that word a match had been lit. Her heart and the rest of her body were on fire.

"Say it again." Callie whispered.

"My beautiful FIANCE" Arizona quipped back.

Every ounce of reserve Callie had crumbled. Arizona Robbins was her fiancé. She was going to marry this woman. Her daughter called her Mama and Arizona didn't even flinch. She bought her three miles of private beach to build their dream home for the family. Yeah…Arizona was getting lucky tonight. Callie lunged at the blonde, Arizona didn't even have time to react before she was pushed up against the car door. Their kisses were hungry, passionate, a familiar dance that only the two of them knew.

"Come on." Callie yanked Arizona's arm dragging her towards the front door.

"Eager are we?" Arizona joked.

Callie turned around and stared at her. Callie knew the hunger in her eyes was undeniable. Clearing her throat she pinned Arizona to the front door, hands on either side of her head. "If you don't unlock that door…right now…I will fuck you against it for all of the neighborhood to see." Callie growled. Laughing as she heard the whimper leave Arizona's throat. She stepped back and watched Arizona fumble with the keys trying her best to find the right key but struggling under the pressure. This was going to be a good night.

General POV

"You have until I count to 10. Then my hand is going up your dress and starting" Callie whispered in Arizona's ear, grinding her hips against the blonde's behind.

"Calliope." Arizona whined.

"10….9….8…..7….6…" Callie nipped the blonde's neck between each number.

"Got it!" Arizona yelped, barreling the door open. She turned around and pulled Callie into the door. Clothes were shed lining the hallway to their bedroom. All signs of the disagreement this morning gone. Callie was still surprised Arizona didn't crack earlier in the day, but the proposal was perfect and now she was going to properly thank her fiancé.

Pushing the blonde down onto the bed Callie wasted no time climbing on top of her. Both let out a moan at the first feeling of full skin on skin contact. Arizona wrapped her hands in Callie's long dark hair pulling her head down for a heated kiss. She wasted no time requesting permission and plunged her tongue into her fiancé's mouth. Callie returned the kiss just as hungry.

"I-I need you, Calliope." Arizona panted between kisses.

"I'm all yours, Arizona. Forever." Callie began kissing her way down her lover's body. When she reached her destination, she wasted no time. She took the blonde's clit in her mouth and started to slowly suck, gradually increasing pressure the way she knew Arizona liked. She smiled when she felt the pale hands find purchase in her hair. "Ug-God!" Arizona moaned.

Smiling at Arizona's moan Callie quickly entered her fiancé with two fingers, the blonde's hips began bucking so wildly it was hard for Callie to keep her mouth in place. She used her free hand to hold down Arizona's hips and laughed when she heard Arizona's frustrated grunt. "Harder. Fuck Callie. Harder!" Arizona begged. Callie willingly complied increasing the strength of her thrusts. She felt Arizona's walls beginning to clench and started to scissor her fingers. Knowing just what Arizona needed Callie gently bit down on Arizona's bundle of nerves.

"YES!" Arizona screamed. Completely uninhibited.

Callie slowed her motions allowing Arizona to ride out the rest of her high. Once she knew she was done she kissed her way back up her body and gently pecked her lips.

"Mmmm thank you." Arizona whispered as she ran her fingers through Callie's hair. Callie just laughed. "No need to thank me. You bought me a beach…to build our dream home. The least I could do was pay you back." Callie joked. "Well, sit back and relax my love because I need to pay you back for saying yes." Arizona whispered in Callie's ear as she licked the shell of it.

Callie willingly complied. It was going to be a long night.

Callie's POV

Waking up the next morning, Callie looked down at her finger to ensure the previous night hadn't been a dream. What a whirlwind 24 hours. She went from thinking she may be losing Arizona, to being her fiancé. She still loved that word. Callie was still sore all over from the night before. Looking at the body she was laying on, she just smiled. They had woken up multiple times the night before and made love. The engagement had been successfully celebrated by the two of them. Callie was about to lay back down when she heard Arizona's phone start chiming. It sounded like her alarm.

"Turn it offfff." Arizona whined.

"It is your phone alarm, dummy." Callie laughed. "Why did you set your alarm?"

"Shit!" Arizona shot up. "I told your Dad we would join your family for brunch today." Arizona stood up looking for her clothes.

"You WHAT?" Callie sat up. "You told my Dad you would join my FAMILY for brunch. He said the word family?" Callie asked her heart beating.

"Um, yeah. Is that an issue?" Arizona seemed confused.

"Arizona….when my Dad says family, he also means my mother." Callie was sure she looked like she was going to be sick.

"I know. We are engaged Calliope. I think it is time to rip off the band aid. I am not going anywhere, no matter what. Your mother is not an issue." Arizona tried to sooth the Latina but it was not working.

"I have a counter offer." Callie tried to seem unphased.

"And that would be….?" Arizona arched her eyebrow.

"How about we stay in bed and celebrate some more. I can do that thing you like…." Callie slowly took the covers off her body, revealing her naked chest. She saw Arizona visibly swallow. Is this actually working.

She watched as the blonde looked at her from head to toe. She looked like a lion staring at a piece of meat. Shit this is actually working. Callie turned the heat up a notch at ran her hand down her stomach past her curls.

"STOP. Damn it Calliope. Don't tempt me with sex. I told your Dad we would be there. So we have to show. He gave me his blessing to marry you. I can't let him down." Arizona put her hands over her eyes and started backing away.

"Come onnnn. I know we could make very good use of our day!" Callie tried to flirt.

"Nope!" Arizona turned around eyes still covered and ran head first into the bathroom door.

Callie had to cover her mouth to stifle the laugh that escaped her. "Are-are you okay?" She managed to get out between bouts of laughter.

"No. I am not okay. You hypnotized me with sex! Now I am going to have a bump on my head when I meet your mother." The blonde pouted.

"I can't believe you are making me do this." Callie pouted. "You owe me!"

"I promise I will make it up to you…How bad can your mother really be? You already got the girl. I will woo her with my Robbins charm!" Arizona joked over her shoulder as she headed to the bathroom.

She really has no idea what she is in for…..

A/N: I was not a big Mer Der fan. Just my opinion. But when she built the house out of the candles, that was one of my fav Grey's moments ever. So the proposal was a little nod to that.

Next Time: Arizona meets Lucia!
