I'm back! I'm so excited I think this awesome Inuyasha fanfic is almost done! It's more like bittersweet. I had so much fun writing this and I'm so glad my fans are enjoying it but it's also sad that it's almost done but I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying it anyway onward we go!
"So the legend of The Sun and Moon Spirits and Relics is true?"Ayame asked when Kagome finished explaining.
"Yes… I'm so sorry this happened, I put your people in danger and I almost got Ayame killed-" The Sun Miko started but stopped when Ayame grabbed and held both of her hands in her own.
"No, this is not your fault, and what are you saying? You saved me Kagome, I'm alive now because of you and your gifts from the sun" the wolf girl said with gratitude heavy in her voice.
"Ayame's right Kagome, and it's also because of you that I know who my true mate is…" Koga trailed off as he put an arm around Ayame's shoulders, who blushed as she let go of Kagome's hands.
"Koga…." the wolf girl trailed off softly with a sweet smile.
The Sun Miko smiled at the couple as did Sango.
"I'm so glad it worked out for you two…" Kagome said happily.

That next morning, after spending the rest of the night in the wolf demon tribe's cave, Kagome and the rest of her traveling companions were seen off by the whole pack.
"Please be careful Kagome, alright?" Ayame pleaded giving The Sun Miko a tight hug, who hugged her redhead friend back.
"I promise I will," Kagome replied.
"If you ever need anything you can count on us and our pack to help" Koga promised.
"Oh, well thank you I'll be sure to remember that" The Sun Miko stated.
"HEY, MUTT FACE!" Koga then called out to Inuyasha.
"GRR, WHAT!?" The Dogeared lord retaliated.
"You better take care of Kagome, or I'll kick your ass!" the wolf prince warned, cracking his knuckles.
Inuyasha growled as he put a hand on his sword. "Do you want me to send you to an early grave, wolf boy?!" he threatened.
"Okay, let's be on our way!" Kagome laughed nervously as she, Miroku, and Sango did their best to pull Inuyasha away, to which they succeeded in doing so luckily.
After getting back on track towards the path of Inuyasha's palace Kagome had noticed the dogeared lord was keeping his distance from her…. And looking more than a bit sad, though he seemed to be trying to hide it….
"Miroku, what's with Inuyasha?" The Sun Miko questioned quietly.
"I'm not entirely sure, but I suspect that it's about what happened with Koga," the monk whispered back.
Kagome's cheeks then turned red. "He's… jealous…?" she thought to herself.
"Maybe you should talk to him, Kagome," Sango added. "I mean he 'is' very protective of you, almost as much as me and Kirara are…" The Demon Slayer added as Kirara meowed in agreement from her arms.
"Kagome then took a deep breath and walked up to Inuyasha so she was walking beside him. "Um… Inuyasha, I -" she started but the dogeared man cut her off.
"We're here" he stated, not even bothering to glance at The Sun Miko as he pointed to the end of the road the group was walking upon where a large walled castle was…
"Let's go," Inuyasha demanded as he then picked up Kagome bridal style and began to sprint towards the castle gates.
"Hey you two, wait up!" Sango called after them as she let Kirara jump out of her arms and transform to give her partner, Miroku, and Shippo a ride to catch up to Inuyasha and Kagome.
"Hey, open up!" Inuyasha shouted banging on the gates. After a moment the doors creaked open and in the entire way was a short green toad demon with a two headed wooden staff.
"Lord Inuyasha, you're back! Oh and so are you, master Miroku!" the toad demon exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah, Yeah Jaken, I brought The Sun Relic to heal my mother so where is she?" the dogeared lord demanded.
Jaken looked down and shook his head as tears welled up in his big yellow eyes.
"Master Jaken, what's the matter?" Mirkou asked though he feared he already knew the answer as he jumped off of Kirara's back.
"My lord… your mother lady Izayoi, she… passed on about an hour ago…" Jaken said sadly as he then burst into tears and began to weep loudly.
Kagome gasped at his words.
"No…" Miroku trailed off sadly.
"We were too late.." Sango said sadly as she and Kirara bowed their heads in regret.
"Inuyasha?" Shippo questioned as he walked over to the dog eared lord, whose face was now hidden behind his bangs.
"I was too late…." he said softly as his hands tightened into fists.
"Master Jaken, please take me to Inuyasha's mother," Kagome demanded.
Inuyasha turned to her. "Kagome…?"
"Excuse me young lady, but who are you to order me like that-" Jaken started but Inuyasha cut him off.
"Let her see my mother Jaken, and I'm going with her!" the dogeared lord then turned to Miroku. "Miroku, take Sango, Kirara, and Shippo inside for some refreshment" he ordered.
"Of course my lord," the monk replied with a nod.
As Jaken led everyone inside Kagome was stunned at how large and grand the castle was, but she only gawked for a few moments as Inuyasha then began to lead her in a different direction than the rest of the group, who went to a nearby parlor room.
"My mother's room is just down here" Inuyasha said, not looking at The Sun Miko as he and Jaken stopped at a door where two tall figures stood.
One was a young woman about Kagome's age with long black-brown hair, light brown eyes, she wore a purple kimono with yellow butterflies on it and she was weeping in the arms of a man who looked about twenty four. He had long white hair, a purple crescent moon on his forehead, two pink stripes on each cheek, golden eyes, pointed elf-like ears, he wore a white furry cloak and armor over his white and red kimono, and on his side were two sheathed swords.
"Inuyasha, you have returned," the man said in a cool and calm voice.
"Yes, I have Sesshomaru" was all Inuyasha could say.
"Oh, Inuyasha!" The woman cried running over to him and hugging the dog eared lord tightly, making Kagome flinch uncomfortably. "Oh my dear brother, I'm so sorry, your mother was a wonderful woman. I'm sorry Sesshomaru can't use his sword to heal her but it's already been used to do so!" the young woman cried.
"Rin please, things will be okay" Inuyasha said kindly as he then turned to Kagome.
"Kagome, this is my half older brother Sesshomaru and his wife Rin. Sesshomaru, this Kagome… She has The Sun Relic and she knows how to use it," Inuyasha said.
With that Sessohmaru looked at Kagome and gave her a silent nod, while Rin rushed over and hugged The Sun mIko tightly as if her life depended on it.
"Oh thank you so much miss Kagome thank you so much for coming!"Rin cried.
"Rin dear, I think we should let them see Izayoi," Sesshomaru said gently, pulling his wife off of The Sun Miko. "We'll be waiting out here" The older brother said, putting his arm around his wife as Inuyasha and Kagome walked into Izayoi's room and closed the sliding door in their wake leaving Sesshomaru, Rin, and Jaken outside.
Once the sliding door was closed Inuyasah ran to his mother's futon where a woman with very long black hair, red colored lips, and wearing a pink night kimono lay with blue eyeshadow on her closed eyes.
"Mother… mother, it's me, it's Inuyasha your son, wake up, wake up please!" the dog eared lord pleaded as 'tears' made their way down his cheeks while he held his dead mother close to his chest.
"He's… crying, Inuyasha never seemed like the type to cry… he must really love his mother… as much as I loved mine…" Kagome thought to herself as she set down her quiver, bow and mandolin and approached the futon sitting next to the dog eared lord.
"Inuyasha, the healing incantation won't work on your mother now…. But there is another way to save her…." Kagome said softly.
Inuyasha's head shot up at her words. "What?" he breathed.
Kagome smiled softly as she used her thumb to wipe away the dog man's tears. "Please lay your mother back down and give me her hand," Kagome instructed. Inuyasha did just that and watched as Kagome held Izayoi's cold right hand in both of her own hands as she then began to chant;
"Power of the sun,
Gift me with thy light,
Shine into death's darkness and restore life's fading sight,
Rise into the dawn blazing star so bright,
Burn away death's strife and let life ignite,
Let life ignite!"
Kagome's voice boomed as her eyes, hands, and sun seed shined with a brighter golden light than when she had used The Healing Incantation and once she stopped chanting the light faded and The Sun Miko began to fall forward, dropping Izayoi's hand in the process.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha cried out as he caught her before she could hit the ground.
"I'm… alright… The Life Incantation leaves me feeling tired after I use it" Kagome stated, trying to catch her breath.
"Life Incantation…?" Inuyasha asked.
"Yes, The Healing Incantation can heal and The Life Incantation which I just used, can bring back the dead" said The Sun Miko.
The young dog lord's eyes widened at her words. "Bring back… the dead…? Y-you mean-?" but whatever he was about to say next was cut off by a soft groan… Kagome and Inuyasha turned to see Izayoi's violet eyes fluttering open. "M-mother?" Inuyasha stuttered in disbelief.
"Inuyasha you're back… I- I can move again?" Izayoi questioned in wonder as she sat up and looked at her hands.
"MOTHER!" Inuyasha shouted in relief as he hugged Izayoi close.
"Oh my son, I thought I would never see you again!" the mother wept with joy as she hugged her child close.
"Oh my, who might this beautiful young lady be?" Izayoi asked, looking at Kagome, who blushed at the compliment.
"Oh mother this is Kagome, she's well, she's…" Inuyasha trailed off as he was unsure if it was wise to tell his mother the truth.
Kagome then smiled in an understanding way towards the young dogeared lord. "It's alright Inuyasha you may tell her everything, she is your mother after all and one mustn't ever have to lie to their mother, especially about something like this" The Sun Miko stated.
"Inuyasha, what's going on?" Izayoi questioned.
)())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
"My goodness this is all just…. Extraordinary…." Izayoi trailed off after Inuyasha explained everything.
"Yeah… I'm sorry mother, we could've lost you forever I-" Inuyasha started, but his mother cut him off.
"My son, you and your beloved Kagome saved me, neither of you have any reason to be sorry" Izayoi said, making both Inuyasha and Kagome blush.
"Uh… I uh- Kagome and I aren't together" the dog lord stuttered in embarrassment.
His words made Kagome's heart drop like a stone and her face fell.
"He doesn't feel the same… of course he doesn't, he's a powerful lord and I'm just some commoner…" The Sun Miko thought to herself sadly as she then stood up from the floor.
"I- I think my work here is done, I'll get Sango, Kirara, and Shippo then we'll be on our way…" she stated softly trying not to sound sad as she then was about to leave the room only to have Izayoi call out to her.
"Wait Kagome!" The mother then got up and hugged The Sun Miko close as if she were her own child. "Please don't leave yet, you have saved my life and as I recall while Inuyasha was explaining everything he mentioned today was your eighteenth birthday, please allow me to hold a feast for you and provide a room for you and your companions for the night" Izayoi very nearly begged as she released Kagome from the hug now only hold both of her hands in her own.
"I don't want to waste your time…" The Sun Miko trailed off.
"Not when I'm probably destined to die today…" she thought to herself.
"Nonsense you've come all this way you'll need your strength to return home so please stay the night and let me provide to you what I can" Izayoi insisted.
Kagome opened her mouth to protest but then she remembered that Sango, Kirara, and Shippo must have been tired from their journey… "Very well we will stay the night," The Sun Miko said.

Meanwhile far away from The Great Dog Demon's castle Keade the one eyed miko was making her way back to the rock pit she called home on a white horse that the village she had helped gifted to her. It was in the afternoon that she was riding through a grassy field when she felt her horse stire upon them both seeing a thin figure in the distance. Keade frowned as the figure with the scarred face then approached her.
"Kikyo," the one eyed miko greeted cooly.
"Keade, you're still alive?" The Moon Miko asked cruelly.
"Watch ye touge you awful girl… I know what is going to happen to you and Kagome on this day during the solar eclipse…. I only wished I could've saved Kagome from this awful fate…" Keade said sadly.
Kikyo smirked. "As if there is any way out of this fate our father's have chosen for us, not even they can stop it now...though it is unfortunate that I couldn't kill Kagome beforehand. Now the world will never belong to only the night… how sad" The Moon Miko stated. "However nothing is stopping me from killing you…"
Keade looked down upon hearing this. "I will not run from you or your wrath Kikyo, for I could not save kind and gentle Kagome, that guilt in which that lives within me is far more terrible than death itself…"
Kikyo smiled wickedly. "Good…" she then raised her right hand towards Keade and began to chant;
"Crescent high above,
Evolving as you go,
Rise up what pain lies beneath and let darkness grow,
Bend it to my will,
Consume life's sunny glow, rise into the sky and let death's darkness grow,
Let death's darkness grow"
Kikyo chanted as Keade and her horse fell to the ground gasping for air until their bodies feel limp. "Ha, wretched old fool" The Moon Miko chuckled as she then pulled out her sword and severed the old miko's head from her body. I will take your eyepatch as a trophy you old fool" Kikyo declared, ripping the eye patch off of Keade's head and then kicking it to the side. She then looked up to the sky where the Sun and Moon were getting closer to each other… "It is almost time… at least I enjoyed my time here on earth while it lasted…" she said to herself as she then placed her hand on her moon seed around her neck that was still scared from Kagome's arrow.

Back at the castle to The Great Dog Demon, Izayoi was true to her word as she had thrown a grand feast for Kagome and her friends in honor of The Sun Miko's eighteenth birthday and to thank her for saving her life, but while everyone in the castle was enjoying the celebration Inuyasha noticed how sad Kagome looked and she had barely touched the food she had been given.
"I wonder what's up with Kagome," Inuyasha said out loud.
"It's obvious little brother, she is concerned about something regarding your feelings towards her" Sesshomaru stated sitting on the half demon's right.
"What? Kagome doesn't have feelings towards me, she told me and Koga that she loves someone else" Inuyasha barked, earning a heavy sigh from Miroku who was sitting on his left. "What, do you have a problem monk?" The young dog lord questioned.
"No not at all, I have a big problem, you and Kagome each have something you want to tell the other but you're both too stupid and shy to even look at each other at this point!" Miroku exclaimed.
"Hey, Kagome isn't stupid!" Inuyasha protested standing up.
"Sesshomaru, Miroku, I'll take it from here…" Izayoi trailed off as she sat between her son and the monk. "Inuyasha be honest with me, do you love Kagome?" the mother asked softly, making Inuyasha blush and stared down at his food.
"Kagome is unlike any other girl I've ever met: she's kind and gentle, but she also has a fighting spirit and she knows when to use it. She didn't care that I was a half demon and now.. I feel as if she's showing me she's not the only one who sees that. Ever since we've met I've wanted to protect her from anything that might harm her…oh gods…" Inuyasha breathed, realizing what this meant.
Izayoi smiled. "So I was right, Kagome is your destined mate"
Inuyasha turned to her. "You knew?" he questioned.
"Of course I did, a mother knows when her child is in love" she replied.
"As do siblings and friends' ' Miroku added as he and Sesshomaru smiled reassuringly at Inuyasha.
"Tell Miss Kagome how you feel," the older sibling said, slapping his younger brother on the back.
"We know you can do it," Miroku encouraged.
Inuyasha then looked up at his mother, brother, and best friend and smiled softly. "Thank you" he said as he stood up to walk over to Kagome only to see she looked a bit strange… her face suddenly looked very focused as she too stood up from the floor and then began to walk out of the dinning hall.
"Kagome?" Sango and Shippo questioned as the two of them and Kirara began to follow The Sun Miko, who didn't even turn to look at them.
"Kagome, please where are you- AHH!" Sango began to question as she grabbed onto Kagome's shoulder only to quickly retract it and cry out in pain.
"Sango, what happened?!" Miroku asked as he ran to The Demon Slayer who was holding her hand in great agony.
"Sango your hand, it's burned!" Shippo exclaimed looking at Sango's hand from her shoulder while Miroku and Inuyasha rushed to her side.
"I thought I felt heat radiating off of her, but before I could ask her about it , she got up and left," Sango said.
"And her Sun Seed looked like it was…Glowing…" Shippo added.
"I don't like this, something's wrong!" Inuyasha stated as he ran out of the dinning hall to follow Kagome, who was now in the castle courtyard… with Kikyo!
"Kagome!" Inuyasha shouted as he wiped out Tessiaga and jumped down from the balcony of the dining hall, ready to kill Kikyo, only to have a purple barrier push him back from the two sisters.
"Inuyasha!" Miroku, Sango, and Shippo shouted in alarm as they along with Kirara, Rin, Izayoi, and Sesshomaru ran out onto the balcony.
"What's going on Kikyo, what did you do to Kagome?!" Inuyasha demanded as everyone else rushed down to the courtyard and let Sesshomaru and Miroku help him up once they were beside him.
Kikyo laughed as if she had heard the most humorous thing.
"What's so funny you bitch?!" Inuyasha spat angrily.
"Oh I don't know if it's more funny or sad in this case but you all clearly have no idea why me and my sister were born" Kikyo said.
"Then tell us, why were you and Kagome born?" Miroku asked seriously.
"Well isn't it obvious? We were born to become the next Sun and Moon" The Moon Miko stated.
"W-what?" Sango questioned in complete shock, her face etched with horror.
"My Moon Seed and Kagome's Sun Seed are apart of us and they hold a powerful spell that will turn me into the moon and Kagome into the sun, this is to happen since our fathers are to die today from eons of fighting each other on every solar eclipse, but even though Kagome was as clueless as the rest of you were about this it appears that she couldn't resist the pull of the eclipse, this event of the sun and moon is the reason I can come out in the daylight this one time. And this barrier was made by the sun and moon spirits so none of you can interfere with our transformations" Kikyo said coolly.
Inuyasha stood still in shock but only for a moment. "No… I WON'T LET KAGOME DIE!" he shouted as his grip on his sword tightened as he tried to strike down the barrier, but it wouldn't break. "KAGOME!" Inuyasha yelled at the top of his lungs.
Kagome then blinked. "Inu….Yasha…?" she called softly.
"She's now able to resist the barrier's mind control, how?" Kikyo wondered out loud.
"INUYASHA!" Kagome cried out running over and to the half demon lord as she then tried to break down the barrier with her hands but it didn't work.
"Don't worry sister, we aren't going to die, we are going to live forever knowing only each other, that is on every solar eclipse as the sun and moon" Kikyo clarified.
"No.. this fate is worse than death!" Kagome cried tears forming in her beautiful brown eyes as she spoke.
Kikyo only smiled. "Keade said nearly the same thing… before I killed her…" she trailed off wickedly.
Kagome gasped in horror. "No… you didn't…" she breathed, turning to her twin, whose smile only widened.
"I did…" The Moon Miko stated as she took out Keade's bloody eye patch.
Kagome cried out in grief when she saw it.
"It doesn't matter Kagome there is no escape from this fate, I was drawn to you as you were to me dear sister, the only difference is that I have nothing to lose, you on the other hand will never be with anyone on earth ever again. You'd do well to just accept our fate, it's what you were born for" Kikyo stated.
Kagome's tears finally made their way down her cheeks. "No… I never got to tell Inuyasha how I felt, and I never got to really live…" Kagome thought to herself as she used all of the strength she could muster to turn away from her loved ones on the other side of the barrier and walked to stand in front of Kikyo who smiled.
"When the eclipse starts we are to recite The Eclipse Incantation, it will only work once and only when The Sun and Moon Relics say it together… and when the eclipse ends… our transformation will be complete…" Kikyo clarified.
Kagome looked down sadly. "So this is it for me…" she thought to herself while all of her friends, even Izayoi, Rin, and Sesshomaru tried to break the barrier from their side, but nothing they did seemed to work.
"KAGOME!" they all shouted.
"Oh no look!" Shippo yelled pointing to the sky, everyone then looked up to see what they had been dreading for the past few minutes; the sun and moon were beginning to cross paths.
Let us begin the incantation sister" said Kikyo earning a sad nod from Kagome as they began to chant;
"Sun and Moon, Moon and Sun it is time to end this feud
And start one new,
may the day's and night's be few and start and new,
Sun and Moon, Moon and Sun release the power within thy seeds
So to start something new…
Something new…"
The twins chanted as a purple light, the same color as the barrier surrounded their bodies, glowed within their eyes, and within the celestial seeds around their necks. After a short pause the seeds burst. The light in Kikyo's eyes turned white as did the glow around her body and Kagome's glow turned golden as did the glow in her eyes. Both girls then screamed in pain as the barrier itself shattered and they themselves started to rise up into the sky still crying out in pain.
"KAGOME!" Inuyasha shouted and he jumped onto Kirara's back who wasted no time flying up to a still rising Kagome.
"INUYASHAAAA!" The Sun Miko cried out in agony reaching for the half demon whose hand was about to grasp hers when Suddenly both her and Kikyo shot up into the sky towards the sun and moon which were getting closer to each other…and disappeared out of sight.
"NO!" Sango shouted in a mix of fury and regret.
"Sango are you alright?" Miroku questioned as he caught The Demon Slayer who was falling to her knees.
"No… all this time protecting her and for what? Just so she could end up being alone forever as her father's replacement….?" Sango asked rhetorically, tears streaming down her cheeks as Kirara flew down to her side to comfort her and Shippo who was also crying.
"Wait if Kagome is to take her father's place then shouldn't she be able to still walk the earth during the day?" Miroku questioned as Inuyasha got off of Kirara's back.
"No that moon girl said they were to become the next sun and moon while the legend says their fathers are the only the spirits of the sun and moon, Kagome and her sister will actually become the sun and moon" Sesshomaru clarified as he was holding his weeping wife.
"How can we stop this?" Rin asked in tears as she hugged her husband while Izayoi patted her back.
Perhaps I can help…" as soft voice said.
Everyone then turned to see a ghost-like woman who had a long wavy black ponytail, wore miko robes and she had a familiar face…"
"Who are you?" Inuyasha demanded.
"It's Kagome and Kikyo's mother Lady Ami!" Sango exclaimed as she and Kirara rushed over to the ghostly figure. "How are you here?" The Demon Slayer questioned, her voice still a bit weepy. '"I have come here from the world of the dead to help save Kagome, but I'm afraid it's too late for Kikyo, unlike Kagome, she has no love within her heart. You see, I didn't know of my daughter's fates until today. You see it appears fate itself is having a hard time with Kagome's destiny, for she is battling against The Sun Seed's spell, which her sister cannot do with her Moon Seed. I believe it is love that can save Kagome from this fate since it was mine and Haruto's love that created her. I believe that the love she holds for someone who returns that love can save her" Ami said.
"Please tell us what we need to do… I'll do anything…anything" Inuyasha stated.
Ami looked at Inuyasha and then smiled softly at him. "'You' and can save Kagome" she clarified.
Inuyasha lowered his sword. "M-me" he questioned.
Izayoi then looked between lady Ami and her son and smiled. "It must be you, my son" she said.
"Tell me what I have to do then" Inuyasha said with no hesitation.
"I will pass onto you what power I have left and with this power you will be able to withstand the power of the sun and hopefully save Kagome, trust what you feel towards my daughter and you will prevail…." Lady Ami trailed off as her ghostly body evaporated into pink light and went into Inuyasha's chest, lifting him towards the Sun and Moon.
"Miroku, Shippo watch after Sango, Kirara until me and Kagome get back and Sango Kirara!" the half demon lord called out making The Demon Slayer and the twin tail neko look up
at him. "I promise I'll bring Kagiome back" he promised.
Sango and Kirara smiled hopefully as they watched Inuyasha shoot up towards the sun and moon and vanish from sight.
"We know you will," Sango said softly as Kirara meowed in an agreement.
Cliff hanger! See you in the next chapter!
