There were many things Lumine had to worry about, but at that exact moment, her only worry was to make sure she wasn't crushing Xiao with her weight, even if he had said he didn't mind.

With a content sigh, she leaned her head back on his shoulder and held his hands after he snaked his arms around her middle, settling their intertwined hands on her lap. Lumine didn't know what made her happier; being with Xiao or the fact that Xiao himself seemed to be at peace.

"Aren't you tired?" he asked, no sign of criticism or malice in his words, just concern. He lightly squeezed one of her hands to make sure she replied. Lumine decided not to look at him to reply and gave his jawline a small kiss.

"I am, but I like being here, with you. It's almost like a dream already."

Lumine smiled and closed her eyes when she felt him nuzzle the top of her head, likely taking in her scent, as he always did. She turned her head slightly and planted small kisses on his neck, stifling back a laugh when she sensed him shiver behind her.

"You're supposed to be resting, do not provoke me," he groaned against her hair, and it was Lumine's turn to shiver slightly, feeling a deep rumble come from his chest. Xiao could be unbearably adorable at times, but on certain occasions, he could easily make her knees feel weak and her entire body go haywire with desire.

The duality of man.

Nevertheless, she was tired, and didn't have the energy to do anything besides just sit there with him. Or rather, well… She did have energy for one thing before exhaustion took over her.

Lumine hid her face in the crook of his neck and murmured, warm breath tickling his skin, "I love you." Neither of them said it often, because their actions spoke ten times louder, but it was always nice to hear it.

Just as she drifted off, Xiao kissed the top of her head and whispered his reply, washing away even the tiniest of her worries, no matter how insignificant they were,

"I love you, too."
