Designation? So it was something called a Green lantern Power ring, and it had apparently just recruited me to an organization of some kind? An organization that had more than 2000 members. My eyes narrowed at that. That was nearly as many mages as Tristan had. The most recent survey showed that Tristan had about 3000 mages. Was this 'artifact' something used by this organization to recruit mages? And if so what was the purpose of this organization? And why haven't I heard of it? And strangely enough. The members seemed to be called Green lanterns. What a strange way to name a member, instead of something like knight, or enforcer.

"What is the purpose of this Green Lantern Corps? And Why have you chosen me? Me of all people?" After all, if someone wanted to recruit a strong mage they could have chosen anyone else. So why me?

"A Green Lantern is an officer of the intergalactic peacekeeping force known as the Green Lantern Corps, who are tasked with promoting order and justice throughout the 3600 sectors of the Universe. Every Green Lantern possesses a power ring that serves as a badge of authority and the most powerful weapon in their arsenal. Green Lanterns are assigned to a sector of the universe and it is their duty to suppress any threat against their sector."

My head began to spin.

What in the world?

From what I understood this Organization seemed to be some kind of peace-keeping force.

"Intergalactic?" and what did it mean by the universe? Was this organization a peacekeeping force that was spread all over Halkeginia, or perhaps even beyond? Perhaps even in Rub Al Khali? Or even further?

"A Galaxy is a system of millions or billions of stars, together with gas and dust, held together by gravitational attraction."

My mind was brought to a halt once again. I have certainly seen the night sky before and I haven't really counted it, but billions? Were stars truly that many in number?

"Wait, so you are saying that the Green Lantern corps are supposed to keep the peace between the stars? That doesn't make sense, first, how the stars are tiny there's no way anything can live on it, and second, how Brimirs name am I supposed to go up there, and third you still haven't answered the question about why you choose me of all people!" Louise was getting a bit frustrated with the ring.

"Understood. Simplifying. Your Planet, named Earth-" So that's what he meant. Still, who had the bright idea of naming our world after dirt? Though if they named it since it is the ground we stand upon then it makes sense. "- orbits the Sun which is merely one of the millions of stars-"

"Hang on, you are telling me that our sun is a star?"

"-Affirmative."

"But how? The sun is far, far larger than any other star!"

"Negative. The sun is in fact quite small compared to most other stars. The only reason you see the stars so small is because of how great the distance is."

That actually made some sense...

Wait, then if that's how far stars are..."Wait how far is the sun?"

"It takes light eight minutes to reach this planet from the sun."

I blinked...light had a speed? I always thought light was instant. But if it did indeed have a speed then it must be fast.

Unimaginably fast.

"How fast is light?"

"If the light was to go around this world, it would do so about 12 to 24 times in the time it takes for you to breathe in."

I took a breath...

That was mind-boggling...I was expecting something ridiculous but I still didn't even come close to guessing it.

I couldn't even wrap my head around it so I choose to ignore it.

"If what you are saying is true then how far are the stars out there?"

"The Closest star is about 4.0870656 light-years. from this planet."

"And a light year is?" I asked already dreading the answer.

"The distance it takes for light to travel in a year."

"Then how am I supposed to do that in the first place?"

"Green Lantern Power Ring has the ability to grant user FTL flight capabilities."

I dreaded to ask but ask I had to.

"and what is FTL?"

"FTL stands for Faster than Light."

That... That boggled the mind... I couldn't even imagine that. If it was true then I could take me to Tristain capital in the time it takes for me to blink.

"Can you take me to the capital city, using that thing?"

"Faster than Light travel is locked at this time."

That was what she was expecting. In a way, it was a relief. "So this was a scam after all."

"Incorrect, FTL features are restricted until the user receives Authorization."

"Then what can you do now?" I asked still a bit suspicious.

"Flight-"

"You just said it was restricted."

"Fater Than Light travel was restricted, Flight however is not restricted. In the atmosphere, a Green Lantern has been known to fly at ten times the speed of sound."

"And how fast is sound?"

"The speed of a shockwave."

"Oh.." That she knew. She regularly cast explosions after all.

That...That was ridiculously fast.

"The Universal translator function allows the user to speak and understand all languages. The ring can also absorb and store other energies. Invisibility, Upon request, the ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. The ring will automatically end the playback if outside interference warrants the ring wielder's undivided attention. The ring can be used to fire blasts of energy or create weapons such as projectiles of them. The ring can project beams of force powered by the will of the user."

"Wait, you need willpower to work?" Then that meant it was just a Wand. A Legendary and Intelligent Wand but this a wand but without any of the words.

"That is correct, your enormous willpower and your ability to overcome fear while remaining just, fair, and following the Law of your people is the reason why you were chosen."

Her fears faded away at that. This organization whatever it was wasn't seeking to attack Tristan or Henrietta. Nor were they trying to take over Tristain. Still, she would keep up her guard for now. At least until she has had irrefutable evidence.

"The primary function of the Power Ring is to provide a weapon capable of transforming the wearer's thoughts into physical constructs through the wearer's strength of willpower. A Green Lantern can create any particular items or construct that they can imagine as long as they have the willpower necessary to will it into existence. The constructs are made out of bright green energy, which is a tangible form of pure willpower, and they exist only as long as a Green Lantern is fueling it with their willpower. Items created by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the willpower of the Green Lantern creating them."

"I can create anything?"

"Affirmative."

"Swords?"

"Affirmative."

"Fire?"

"Affirmative."

"Golems?"

"Affirmative"

"A Castle?"

"So long as your willpower is strong enough."

"Food."

"While you could do so, it will disappear should you be distracted and lose focus."

Just like a single-use spell would.

Hmmm, wait.

"Kirche?" I turned around to see her on the ground unconscious. Not that I could blame her. I could barely believe it myself and was nearly overwhelmed. It would probably be a while for all this to sink in myself.

Carrying her unconscious boy and handing her to the Academies gate guards letting them know that she fainted for some reason and to take her to the infirmary. With that, I turned and walked towards the Carriage. While if the Ring was truthful and I could use it to Fly, this was not the time nor place to test a new wand.

It was time to head home.

No matter what came, she would continue to move forwards.
