There's a lot going on in this chapter but I had to cover a lot of stuff very quickly and I remembered Prussia and his diaries. Anyway, enjoy!
Elizabeta was hiding out in her room trying desperately to forget what had transpired in the park. Not only was her engagement over, but as it turned out the entire relationship was a lie and not only that, but she was the reason why one of her former best friends had his life completely changed. She was by now, far too painfully sober to handle dealing with any of it right now. In the midst of wallowing in self pity and fear of what else her parents might do to further control her she heard a knock on her door. Promptly deciding to ignore it, she turned around on her bed and buried her face into her pillow. If she ignored them they might go away. They didn't, the next thing she heard was the door opening and someone stepping inside.
"Liz, love, are you alright?" Arthur's worried voice almost echoed around the room. "You haven't answered your phone and I'm worried about you."
Elizabeta looked over at him, he was pensive, standing awkwardly by the door and hesitant to fully step into the room. Seemed that he too has sobered up.
"Come in," she groaned with a sigh and pushed herself up to pull her knees to her chest. She watched as he nodded and closed the door behind him before taking a spot at her desk. She tried not to notice how his eyes lingered on the mess that was once her wedding plans. Papers now littered the floor and the carefully set out array of fabrics and images of flowers and drapes were now packed into the bin.
"Are you alright?" he asked again, choosing to ignore or at least, not mention the scattered wedding plans.
"I just found out the last four years of my life were a lie," she said, settling him with a glare. "How do you think I feel?"
"Right…" he replied, casting his eyes on the red rug underneath his chair. "I suppose that would be…"
"That would be what, Arthur?" She snapped, cutting him off. "That would be difficult to wrap your head around? You were there the entire time! You saw how difficult it was!"
"Yes, I did," he shot back, bristling under the attention. "And I tried to help you and get you to see just what that prat was, but you didn't listen!" He was standing now, ready for the fight he was quickly realising he should have been prepared for. However he didn't expect her to fall back onto her bed.
"Fuck," she whimpered, "you did but I didn't see it."
"I did, but that doesn't matter anymore. What happened when you left?"
"I ran into him, Roddy, I mean and…"
She was cut off by another knock on the door, this time her mother pushed it open.
"Liz, sweetheart, Roderich is downstairs, he said it's important," the elder Omega said as sweetly as possible.
Elizabeta and Arthur exchanged a look before she sighed and rolled off the bed. After a quick "I'm coming too" from Arthur they found themselves in a small study opposite Roderich who only seemed more uncomfortable at the sight of Arthur joining them than if they were alone.
"I'm not talking with him here," he explained quickly, he sat bolt upright, rigid in his seat and started Arthur down.
"Too bad, I'm staying," Arthur drawled back, reclining into his chair and popping his feet up on the table between them. Roderich grimaced at the movement but said nothing.
"So, start talking," Elizabeta urged, eager to get this over and done with. "He's going to find out eventually so anything you can say to me, can be said with him here too."
"Fine," Roderich relented. "I just want to start by apologising. I didn't intend for this to happen but considering my… predicament, this was my only option. I realise now that it was wrong and for that, I am truly sorry." Arthur sneered at the alpha, clearly unhappy with him. "Because of that, I want to make things right by you so I'm happy to tell your parents whatever you wish as I don't think this engagement should continue. That being said," he gave Arthur a careful look, "I do wish for discretion on this because as you know, my predicament doesn't involve just me."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Arthur asked.
"It means that he's in love with someone else," Elizabeta supplied tonelessly.
"He fucking cheated on you?" Arthur snapped to attention at this and nearly launched himself at Roderich but was stopped when Elizabeta grabbed his arm to keep him seated.
"Maybe? It's tricky, uh, he was seeing them before we started dating," she explained. "So please just… I don't want to think about this but he had no choice."
"Bollocks," Arthur mumbled under his breath but sat back down.
Happy he was going to remain seated and that Roderich didn't rise to the fight, she continued, her voice robotic and cold as she tried to hold back the tears that were just threatening to spill.
"You're going to break up with me on Monday. You'll make it public and say that you can't give me the life I want and you don't love me. That's all I want from you."
Roderich watched her for a moment, carefully considering his options. If he was honest, this was an easy out. Public and with clearly defined explanations. Very clean cut.
"Deal," he confirmed and stuck his hand out to shake hers, she quickly shook it. "Now what about the ring? It was my grandmother's and if I'm being completely honest, I would like it back."
"Monday, you'll get it back then."
He nodded and stood to leave.
"Very well then, I'll see you on Monday."
With that he was gone leaving the omegas in silence.
"I'm sorry," Arthur eventually spoke up. "I should have looked into him more. I mean, I had a feeling as to why Gilbert suddenly appeared, but I had no idea about that bastard. I honestly just thought he was a knob who was using you."
"Well, you weren't wrong though," she laughed humorously.
More silence fell over them until once again Arthur broke it, this time much more hesitantly.
"Liz, I have something else to tell you, earlier today, I confronted Gilbert about his absence and," he froze, he could feel her eyes now boring into him and it made his resolve crumble. "Well I, um, I asked him to break you and Roderich up."
"You did what?"
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't bear to see you break down again after that phone call and I had a feeling Gilbert hated seeing you with him as much as I did so I asked him to help because you weren't listening to me. It was killing me to stand back and watch as he turned you into something you're not!"
He was met with more silence, this time more deafening than the last. He watched while she stared down at the wood in front of her, her face set in a scowl but otherwise, not giving away anything. That was until she stood up and walked out. Stopping only to tell him to leave.

Dear Diary,
It's Monday and BIG update cause today was AWESOME! That loser Roddy broke up with Liz at school and the news spread fast! Like I'm talking faster than lightning fast! I didn't get to see it but I heard she called me Awesome and said I was way cooler and hotter than that priss and then she threw his stupid ring in his face! HA! Gott, I wish I was there but I'm officially the coolest person alive!
Oh and I fixed things for Fran and Al, well kinda, I'm awesome but not a miracle worker yet! I need more time for that, but my talk and deal with Art is gonna pay off and he's gonna stop playing with my friends. I saw him and Fran making all these googly eyes at each other when he joined us for lunch today. Al is gonna be so pissed, but I can get him back on his feet and find him a new more awesome Omega. Yeah! Today was totally AWESOME!

Dear Diary,
It's Tuesday and no big updates yet but I'm still waiting for Liz to come round and declare her undying love for me but I'm giving her time cause I'm awesome like that. Update on Art, we found out he had a fight with Liz and now he's hanging out with us. It sucks but I think it'll be fine, I just need to convince Liz to forgive him then that makes me even more awesome!

Dear Diary,
Wednesday update and Liz slapped me! Again! That's totally not awesome! I just tried to talk to her and be like, "I'm here for you and you can rely on me," but no. She slapped me and called me a liar! Which I'm not! I'm too awesome to lie to her! This sucks dick, I'm running out of ideas and if I don't figure it out soon then I don't think she'll want to even be our friend anymore cause she's majorly pissed at Fran and Toni too! This is such a mess!
Oh and I caught Art and Al making out in the student union office today. I think Fran doesn't have a chance now cause they were in it. Like full on playing tonsil hockey and shit. They probably would have fucked too if I didn't catch them.

Dear Diary,
It's finally Friday and things aren't any better! I think Liz is avoiding all of us too because nobody has seen her since Wednesday which isn't awesome! She even missed all of our classes too! I swear I'm gonna track her down and make her talk to us! We're too awesome to ignore. Gott, this just ruined my entire weekend. Oh, well Fran being a crybaby also ruined it. Art chose Al and now Fran is just hiding out in my room crying and trying to read what I'm writing. If he tries to look at this one more time though I'm gonna throw him out. This suuuuuucks.

Lunchtime the following Tuesday hit and for the first time since Gilbert got back, he was alone and while it wasn't ideal, he could deal with it. After all, since news spread of his badassery in military school, his soaring grades, newfound athleticism and badass motorbike, Omegas had suddenly taken an interest in him and now he was bathing in the small smiles and blushes sent his way when they walked past. It was all a bit much for him and he wasn't completely sure how he should handle it. So instead of letting his new fans down, he just waved back or sent the odd one or two a wink when they were particularly cute. Yes he was still very into Elizabeta, but he also was very very single so he thought, why not? It was one when one of the Omegas he winked at started to make her way towards him when he was snapped back to reality when someone took the spot opposite him. Elizabeta had just taken the seat and the cute Omega froze and moved back to her group.
"She's cute," Elizabeta commented cookly.
"Ja, but you're cuter," Gilbert replied with one of his now trademarked grins. After the park fiasco and her sudden disappearance, he has decided that he was through with waiting for her to realise she was in love with him and make his feelings known, at a reasonable pace of course. As far as he was concerned, sudden confessions of love to your childhood friend just weren't awesome unless there's a really good build up.
It didn't work, she just eyed him cautiously before starting to eat.
"So…" Gilbert started after a few minutes of eating in silence passed. "We're friends again?"
Elizabeta's eyes shot open in surprise and she almost choked on her pasta.
"If you want to be, I mean, after I got you sent away," she coughed and pounded her chest to dislodge her food.
"Ja, then we're friends," Gilbert replied easily.
Elizabeta could only nod and smile slightly at his answer and he had a feeling things were only just going to get better.
Arthur, Arthur, Arthur... What to do with you?
Anyway USUK full steam ahead! Or is it?
But finally getting to the unspoken PruHun feelings so tune in next week!
