Sanae, after a bit of searching on the top floor, found the door leading to the roof.
Before she would open the door, she checked the window on the side.
It was night already. It took her whole day to get to the bottom of this incident, it was to be expected though, with all this resistance.
Sanae then floated over to the door.
She hesitated a bit, the wind priestess took a deep breath and finally opened the door.
And she found herself being attacked by dozens of incoming knives.
Sanae was surprised, but she dodged them at the last moment.
She looked at the direction where the knives came from and saw the maid from before.
She didn't look exactly pleased.
-This is as far as you go. I won't let you reach the mistress!
The maid was about to declare her spell card, when suddenly she was stopped by someone.
-Settle down, Sakuya.
The maid was surprised, she looked behind herself.
-But, my lady! She's-
-I'm well aware who she is. Go check up on others, I will handle her myself.
The maid looked dejected, but nodded nevertheless.
-Very well, mistress.
She then disappeared, most likely making her leave with time manipulation again.
A young girl appeared in her stead.
She had red eyes, short light-blue hair and a light-pink mob cap with a red ribbon decorated with white stripes. She was wearing a light-pink dress with a red ribbon on both sleeves, a large red ribbon behind her waist with white stripes. Furthermore, she also had a pair of large black bat-like wings on her back with a wingspan wider than her height.
Sanae was expecting somebody more fearsome, not a little girl, but I guess that's to be expected in Gensokyo? You can't really be held back by common sense here.
-My name is Remilia Scarlet, and I welcome you to my mansion, young shrine maiden. I have been expecting you.
The wind priestess tilted her head in confusion.
-You were?
The vampire nodded.
-Of course, it was only a matter of time before somebody would come to stop me. However, I actually expected the Hakurei shrine maiden to come than you.
Sanae was getting tired of this, she wanted to find out the reason behind this incident.
-Why are you even doing this? Gensokyo is peaceful land, where everybody who got cast away, could live without worries. So why would you destroy this peace!?
-I'm a vampire, and I'm weak to the sunlight, the mist will block out the sun, so I can finally walk outside without getting hurt by it.
The wind priestess was infuriated by this.
-You would sacrifice a ton of people, just so you could take a walk outside!? You are ridiculous!
-And yet, you're exterminating the youkai that are just following their nature. It appears that this conversation won't go anywhere. You are here to stop me, and I'm not backing away, so it's time for us to settle this with danmaku duel. Looks like it's going to be a fun night.
Sanae countered.
-Looks like it's going to be a terrible night.
The vampire declared her spell card Heaven's Punishment "Star of David"
It wasn't anything too terrible to dodge, but this was her first spell card after all, it only could go worse from here.
Sanae declared Preparation "Summon Takeminakata"
The wind priestess was surprised, because the vampire changed into her bat form during the spell card, she was dodging the danmaku extremely fast. There wasn't any sign of weakness in her dodging, she was almost perfect. Could she really beat her like this?
The vampire then declared Dark Sign "Scarlet Netherworld"
It was to be expected, this spell card was much harder to dodge than the previous one. It didn't really help that she was already exhausted from all the fighting from before. But she couldn't give up now.
The wind priestess declared Esoterica "Nine Syllable Stabs" Perhaps this would work, it's really hard spell card to dodge.
But Sanae was wrong. The vampire once again dodged it without any challenge, she had extremely high reflex. There really wasn't any weakness in her.
The vampire declared "Red Magic"
The wind priestess was trying her hardest to dodge it, but she was already too tired, and her reflex was too slow to avoid the danmaku. She didn't have any bomb left to skip it too. She got pelleted by the danmaku and fell to the ground.
The vampire then landed to the ground.
She walked over to the wind priestess lying on the ground.
-This is it? I expected you to be much stronger since you managed to defeat Meiling, Patchouli and Sakuya. How pathetic, it appears that my mist won't be going anywhere, shrine maiden. Go home and await your doom there.
The vampire started walking away.
No... It can't end up like this, she can't let Gensokyo be destroyed by her.
She concentrated and whispered to herself.
-Please, Lady Kanako and Lady Suwako, lend me your power.
Suddenly the spot where Sanae was lying on, was enveloped in blinding white light.
Out from it appeared her goddesses, Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya.
They noticed the wind priestess lying on the ground and quickly ran to her.
-Sanae, are you okay!?
She nodded weakly.
The vampire turned around to find more intruders.
-And what is this? The shrine maiden summoned her friends?
The wind goddess turned to face the vampire.
-So, you're the one that's been spreading this mist around. Aren't you one privileged brat? Thinking that Gensokyo is yours to play around with.
-How rude, who do you think, you are barging here and insulting me like this?
Kanako crossed her hands.
-I am Kanako Yasaka, the goddess of Moriya Shrine, and this is Suwako Moriya, the second goddess.
The vampire laughed.
-Do you think, I am scared of gods?
-You will soon learn to fear them, bat.
The wind goddess turned her head towards Sanae.
-You have done well, Sanae. Rest for now and let us take care of this.
She nodded.
-Suwako, let us show this bloodsucker, the wrath of Moriya goddesses.
The earth goddess nodded and they both floated to the air, preparing for the fight.
The vampire followed them.
-Two against one? Aren't you playing unfair now?
-You have forfeited any kind of fair play by threatening the Gensokyo, mosquito.
Kanako declared her spell card Weird Festival "Medoteko Boisterous Dance" and Suwako declared Native God "Lord Long-Arm and Lord Long-Leg"
The combined spell card of Moriya goddesses was absolutely perfect, it was synchronized so well that you could mistake it for one single spell card.
The vampire was having trouble with dodging these spell cards, even in her bat form. It was obvious that she wasn't used to fighting two opponents at the same time.
She then declared Scarlet Sign "Scarlet Meister"
The spell card was no challenge for the goddesses, they dodged it perfectly. It was like they were dancing gracefully through the danmaku.
Sanae was amazed at the fight, she has never seen her goddesses fight in a danmaku fight, so it was all new for her.
The wind goddess and earth goddess declared Divine Husk "Divining Crop" and Divine Tool "Moriya's Iron Ring" respectively.
The vampire was seriously struggling through it, it wouldn't take much more for her to get defeated, but she managed to dodge them too.
She was desperate, but the vampire still tried to act tough.
-Is that everything you got? These spell cards are nothing to me.
-Oh? Did you seriously think that we are using our strongest spell cards? Then we shall demonstrate them after yours.
-You won't have a chance!
The vampire declared "Scarlet Gensokyo"
The goddesses had no trouble dodging that spell card, Sanae was amazed by their dodging skills, she wouldn't be able to dodge it as smoothly as them!
Kanako and Suwako declared God Sign "Omiwatari that God Walked" and Scourge Sign "Mishaguji-sama" respectively.
This was the breaking point for the vampire, she couldn't handle the strongest spell cards at the same time and got pelleted by danmaku, she fell to the ground.
The goddesses dissolved their spell cards and landed on the ground.
They approached the vampire.
-You should consider yourself lucky, we have decided we won't exterminate or banish you. You will, however, stop spreading that mist, or we will return tomorrow to finish the job. Is that clear?
The vampire nodded weakly on the ground.
Sanae was glad to see that her goddesses managed to defeat the villain. She could feel herself at peace, and she felt her build up fatigue coming back to her. She finally closed her eyes.
The goddesses then walked back to their wind priestess.
-Looks like she passed out from the exhaustion. Poor Sanae, she tried her best for us.
Kanako then picked her up princess style and were about to leave, when suddenly somebody kicked the door leading to inside of the mansion.
A girl busted out of the door.
She had long blonde hair and yellow eyes. She was wearing clothes with a black and white color scheme, consisting of a black vest and skirt, white waist apron and undershirt, and a black witch hat with a white bow.
She was waving some kind of object around.
-Shoot and I'll move! Wait, was that the other way around?
Another girl walked out.
She had long brown-black hair and brown eyes, she also had a red ribbon and matching tubes on her side locks. She was wearing a red skirt, a sleeveless red top with a white collar, tied with a red ribbon, and a pair of white detached sleeves which exposed her armpits and sarashi.
-It was. Could you leave talking to me? You're embarrassing us.
They looked around and were surprised to see the vampire sprawled on the ground defeated and a pair of goddesses carrying a girl.
-What's going on here?
Kanako addressed the girl.
-Hakurei shrine maiden, I presume? You're late, we have taken care of the incident already.
She shrugged and pointed at the magician beside her.
-Well, I would have arrived earlier, but somebody couldn't find her hakkero in her house.
-I apologized to ya already, will you give it up already?
-I will, when you will clean your house of all this useless trash.
-No way, it's all useful to my magic research.
-I don't see how expired soba is useful to your research, but whatever.
She pointed at the girl.
-Who are you, and why are you carrying that girl?
-We are Moriya goddesses. Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya and this is Sanae Kochiya, our shrine maiden.
-Wait, another shrine? How come, I haven't heard of you before?
-We arrived not so long ago. We haven't really announced our presence to most of the land yet.
The shrine maiden sighed.
-Look, I appreciate you taking care of this incident, but you should leave them for me. I'm more experienced with resolving them, so it will be safer this way.
-No promises. If you linger around with them like you did with this one, then we will take care of them ourselves.
The goddesses then took to the skies and started floating towards the Youkai Mountain.
The magician patted the shrine maiden on the shoulder.
-Another shrine, huh? You aren't worried that they will overshadow your shrine?
She nodded.
-I am. But as long as they aren't doing anything shady, there's not much I can do about it.
