Author's Note: And that's the ending! I have really enjoyed writing this story, mixing Sanae with Touhou 6 storyline was a fascinating experience. I mentioned back at the prologue that I might write Extra stage and PCB sequel (IN too) but like I said that really depends on whether this story will get well-received. So please let me know in the reviews if you enjoyed the story and would like to see continuation of it. Without further ado, please enjoy the ending.
Moriya Shrine.
It has been few days since the incident of the Scarlet Mist.
The land of Gensokyo was slowly returning back to normal, after the mist finally dispersed.
The news of the wind priestess and her goddesses solving the incident quickly spread through the land of fantasy.
The shrine started getting a lot of visitors from both youkai and humans. Of course, humans getting to the shrine was extremely dangerous because of its location near the Great Youkai Forest, however, the goddesses of Moriya Shrine managed to negotiate with the tengu, so they would escort them from Human Village to the Shrine and back.
Sanae would also travel to the village every week to collect faith and give blessings to the believers that couldn't make it to the shrine.
She also managed to convince, albeit begrudgingly, Hakurei shrine maiden to let her build a branch shrine on the grounds of her shrine.
Because of this, the Moriya goddesses were gaining faith at a very rapid pace, causing for them to finally return back to their former glory...
Sanae was sweeping the shrine grounds. Lady Suwako and Lady Kanako were out on some important business with the tengu, so she was alone at the shrine.
-Looks like another boring day at the shrine, huh?
She looked in the direction of the voice.
There were standing Meiling, Patchouli, Sakuya and Remilia with parasol at the shrine gate.
-Oh! Everyone from the mansion! Are you here to visit?
The vampire nodded.
-Indeed, we have heard that your little shrine has been gaining a lot of popularity these days, so we decided to pay you a visit.
Sanae clutched her chin in thought.
-That being said, if you can't go out at sunlight, then why are you fine in the sun now?
-I have my parasol to shield myself from the sun.
-Then what was the point of the whole incident if the parasol is enough to shield you?
Remilia quickly avoided the question.
-Eeeeh. How about you talk to others? They wanted to talk to you about stuff, too.
The wind priestess raised her eyebrow, but decided against questioning it any further.
Sanae looked at the maid.
-Miss Sakuya! You're here too, aren't you mad at me for breaking in?
The maid shook her head.
-There's no need to worry, I have no grudge against you. In fact I'm more intrigued by your power. You have managed to defeat every resident of the mansion, not counting my mistress.
Sanae scratched the back of her head.
-Ahaha, thank you for the compliment, however, I'm still just a beginner at this. There's much that I still have to learn.
Sakuya nodded.
-That's true, nevertheless, it's still very impressive of you. That being said, I heard that you're from the Outside World?
-Yes. Is there something you wanted to know about it, Miss Sakuya?
-Indeed, I'm looking to prepare some foreign cuisines for my lady, however I'm not that knowledgeable about the matter. Perhaps you have some kind of cooking book from the Outside World?
Sanae nodded.
-As a matter of fact, I should have some of them! Do you want me to look for them now?
She shook her head.
-There's no need to rush, there's still others that want to talk to you, it can wait for now.
The wind priestess nodded.
She looked at the magician.
-Miss Patchouli! Is it okay for you to be outside?
The magician nodded.
-It's fine, I'm feeling healthy today. I see that you're doing good as well.
-Yes! We have been gaining faith at a very fast pace, so it's been going very well for us.
-Not very well for Remi, though. But, oh well, she had it coming with that ridiculous idea of her. I actually had a favor to ask.
Sanae tilted her head questioningly.
-Oh, what would that be?
-I have been studying the Outside World these past days, would you have some books on that matter, since you come from it?
The wind priestess nodded.
-I should still have some books from my school days, would that suffice?
-Everything helps, so yes. Thank you. Now, you should speak with that gatekeeper, she was grinning like an idiot when she heard that she could meet you.
The wind priestess nodded.
She looked at the gatekeeper.
-Meiling! It's good to see you again!
The gatekeeper smiled.
-It's good to see you too, Sanae! Looks like my day off came sooner than I would have expected, ahaha.
-Yes, indeed! Maybe Remilia isn't as bad a person as I thought.
The gatekeeper grimaced.
-Uhhh, I still got punished for letting you go past me, though.
-Oh. Then scratch that, I guess, ahaha?
The gatekeeper nodded.
-I brought my manga with myself, so do you want to swap over, Sanae?
The wind priestess nodded happily.
-Of course! I'm interested in what kind of manga you're reading!
Sanae then invited the residents inside the shrine, where she prepared tea and snacks for everyone.
They talked for many hours and enjoyed their time.
Sanae was skeptical about coming to Gensokyo, because she thought that she wouldn't be able to find many friends here, but seeing the smiling faces of her new friends, she decided that living here wouldn't be that bad after all...
