Chapter Nineteen

When Blaine finally made it to the zoo after the second show - which felt so much longer than usual - it was to find Kurt exactly as he'd said he'd be; curled up asleep with his head gently nuzzled into Raja's side like the tiger was a soft pillow. The magician couldn't help but smile at the two of them. Raja made a soft chuffing sound as he approached, but didn't move or disturb the sleeping man.

He kneeled down beside Kurt, raising a hand to gently brush some of the blue eyed man's hair out of his face. Kurt stirred but didn't wake so Blaine smiled wider, leaning in to press his lips against Kurt's.

Kurt murmured softly, slowly opening his eyes, and smiled into the kiss.

Blaine pulled away after a few moments, smiling back at the other man. He reached out his hand to gently stroke Raja's head. "How is he?" he asked.

"He's doing a lot better. Still really weak, but he's eating, so that's a good sign. Marley pureed some chicken and vegetables for him."

"Well, at least he's eating," Blaine said, settling in beside Kurt and wrapping one arm around him. "And how are you?"

Kurt sighed. "Exhausted. A little hungry. Marley brought me some dinner just before you called, but I snuck most of it to Raja."

Blaine shook his head at him. "You're lucky I know you so well," he said, picking up a bag he'd set down when he'd come in. "There's a salad in there from a nearby twenty-four hour deli."

Kurt smiled sheepishly, and pulled out the salad. "What about you? Did you eat today?"

"I did," the hazel eyed man replied. "I didn't feel much like eating because of how worried I was, but Quinn forced me to eat two meals." He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Kurt's forehead. "And now I'm making you eat."

Kurt frowned. "How is Quinn doing? She must have been pretty shaken when Adam accused her of all that." He took a bite of chicken and blueberries, enjoying the flavor of the strawberry balsamic dressing.

Blaine sighed. "She was pretty shaken. It brought back a lot of memories she didn't want to be thinking about. I've been thinking about asking Wes if there's such a thing as a charge for inducing undue stress on someone. Adam was way out of line, practically yelling at Quinn to prove I wasn't Beth's father."

Kurt dropped his fork. "Oh god, what if he goes to the press with his accusations? Poor Quinn and Beth would be dragged through the mud!"

"We're not going to let that happen. Besides, Adam's in jail right now. He's been confined on charges technically against you. You did get injured due to what he did. I think it's being tied to an initial charge of intent to do harm because he did intend for me to be hurt as a result of that rigging incident." Blaine sighed. "The point is that he won't be talking to the press anytime soon."

Kurt wasn't so sure. "He can make a statement through his lawyer. Just because he's in jail, I wouldn't be so sure he won't raise a stink."

Blaine let Kurt in on some details he never really discussed. "Stage crew is on an even tighter contract than you guys are. They are privy to the details of how illusions are done. It's in all of their contracts that if they speak out to the press in any way or form that has a negative impact on anyone on this team, they can get in serious trouble. If Adam wants to tell the world about the issue with Quinn, he does so at an even greater cost to himself."

Just then, Blaine's phone started to ring and he held up a finger, checking the caller ID. If it had been anyone else, he would have just ignored it, but it turned out to be Wes. Blaine frowned and answered the phone, putting it on speaker. "What's going on, Wes?"

"I've just received some troubling information. This won't affect us negatively in any way, but some of us may have to testify in court."

"What?" Blaine asked, surprised. He glanced over at Kurt who sat there with his fork still in his hand, looking a little paler and worried.

"We've just learned something serious about Adam that's going to put him in a whole lot more trouble than what he did here," Wes continued.

"What's that?" Blaine asked and Kurt scooted a little closer to him.

"He's been traveling with an expired visa," Wes said.

Blaine frowned. "I thought Beiste checked that before the tour started?"

"He did. It wasn't expired when we started. Beiste made sure that Adam knew that he was required to get it extended or renewed at the earliest possible convenience because it was due to expire during the tour. Adam had initially assured him that he'd already made the arrangements. What no one learned until now was that his request for extension or reissue was denied for undisclosed reasons."

"Undisclosed reasons?" Kurt asked. "What does that mean? What kind of undisclosed reasons?"

Wes drew a breath. "It means there may be allegations in his past that gave the Department of Immigration a reason to reconsider extending his visa." They heard Wes turn away from the phone and speak with someone else for a moment. "Beiste has a friend at immigration. He's going to dig into this and see what they can find."

Blaine swallowed and took a deep breath, suppressing a shudder. "Are you saying that for a time, Adam has been in this country illegally?"

"Yes," Wes said. "For the past six weeks, at least. His visa expired a week after we returned from Europe."

"Oh my God," Blaine said. "We're not in trouble, are we?"

Wes shook his head, forgetting for a moment that Blaine couldn't see him. "No. Beiste was able to prove that no one on the tour was aware Adam was working on an expired work permit. But we still may have to testify. Though I won't know any further details on that unless we learn why his renewal was denied." Wes hung up a few minutes later, after going over some details about what might be required.

Kurt had tuned out before they said goodbye, though, lost in his own thoughts. He still wouldn't put it past the British man to tell his lies to whoever would listen. Adam was a man who had nothing left to lose.

Blaine turned his attention from his phone to look at Kurt and frowned. "Love? Kurt, love, are you alright?"

Kurt blinked and looked at him. He felt there was probably no point in trying to relay his concerns about Adam at this point, since Blaine seemed to think the situation was contained. Instead he shrugged. "Sorry, guess I'm just a little out of it. Did I tell you Marley said we can probably move Raja on Monday?"

The curly haired magician felt that there was something more bothering Kurt, but he decided not to push it. Instead, he cupped his face in his hands and leaned forward to press a sweet kiss to his lips, his stomach doing flip flops like it did every time he kissed him. "No, I don't think so, but that's wonderful!"

Kurt gave him a tired smile. "If everything works out, Finn and I can rent a pickup to transport him, and drive to LA. We might just make it in time for Ellen."

Blaine reached up a hand and brushed back some of Kurt's hair. "I would love to have you both there for Ellen," he said. "But even if you miss it, that's okay, because what's more important to me right now is that Raja makes a full recovery." He reached out and gently side-hugged the big cat. "He's a very important part of this family, too."

Kurt looked shocked for a moment, but quickly hid it. Usually when Blaine talked about them being a family, he meant the entire cast and crew, but this time Kurt was certain the dark haired man was implying something else. He cleared his throat. "How was the second show? Anything interesting happen? What illusions did you do?"

"No, nothing interesting happened. We reworked most of the set to perform mostly stuff that you aren't the main assistant for. I did do that Tango with Rachel, and it was...well not boring so to speak, but just not the same. I put on a brave face, but performing doesn't have the same flare without you," Blaine told him.

Kurt smiled and kissed him, before putting his head on the shorter man's shoulder. "Rachel told me last night that she thinks Tina might be on to us."

Blaine, who had just stolen a blueberry from Kurt's salad, paused with his hand partway to his mouth. "Wait, what?" His whole body tensed up a little bit. Tina was the last person he really wanted to know right now. She was still kind of fragile and he was really worried about how she might react to him and Kurt being a couple.

Kurt shrugged, taking another bite of salad himself. "Apparently she made a comment about how you and I haven't been snipping at each other as much. Rachel distracted her, saying that we probably just wanted to keep the drama to a minimum, now that Sebastian is gone. Not that it seems to have worked completely. At least we don't have to worry about Adam anymore." Blaine could hear the venom in Kurt's voice at the mention of the name, and realized Kurt still thought Adam had been responsible for the attack on Raja.

The dark haired man was quiet for a moment. He hadn't told Kurt what they'd found out concerning the attack yet. He hadn't wanted to do that over the phone. A part of him didn't want to do it at all, but it wasn't something that he knew he should keep from him. "Kurt, there's a warrant out for Sebastian's arrest right now," he said softly, lowering his eyes to the ground. "I...I have to tell you something."

"Sebastian? What about him?"

Blaine drew a deep breath. "The security footage that caught Adam tampering with the Shadow Box also caught a man named Hunter slipping the fish into the cart. When Wes and Beiste interrogated him, he eventually admitted that Sebastian paid him to deliver it."

The pale man went stiff beside him. "Sebastian poisoned Raja?"

"And...we have reason to believe he might come after you too."

"Let him. I'll tear him apart and feed him to Raja! That bastard needs to pay for what he's done!" Kurt started to get to his feet, as if to go after the other man that very moment.

Blaine reached up and gently pulled him back down, and into his arms. "Hey, hey, hey," he said, holding him tightly. "I know you're upset and I know you're angry, but I need you here. And Raja needs you here. I promise, we're doing everything we can to make sure Sebastian is held accountable for his actions. The police are looking for him, and I think they're intending to interrogate Hunter for information."

Kurt struggled briefly in his arms, trying to get away, but eventually went limp. "Wasn't Hunter the one who suggested you hire Sebastian in the first place?"

The magician nuzzled close to him, peppering soft kisses along the side of Kurt's neck, anything to calm him. He sighed. "Hunter has his reasons for certain things. He also knows that I was always hesitant about hiring Sebastian, because of our history. I've never been comfortable around the meerkat, ever since the day I first met him."

Kurt muttered something explicit about both Hunter and Sebastian, and Blaine could hear sleep creeping up on him again. "You need to finish eating and get some sleep," Blaine said.

Kurt stared down at the salad in his lap. He wasn't really all that hungry anymore, but he knew that Blaine would pester him just the way Quinn had probably pestered Blaine. He sighed heavily, taking another bite. "When did this all go to hell?" he mumbled.

Elliott stifled a yawn, something he wasn't used to having to do. He hadn't been kidding when he'd teased Kurt about never sleeping the other day. Elliott never slept more than two or three hours a night due to a disorder called short sleep syndrome. People laughed when he told them that was an actual sleep disorder, but it was true. But he hadn't slept at all either of the last two nights.

Now he actually understood how Kurt felt when they had to get up so early after breakdown nights to get on the buses to move on to the next city.

"What's wrong with you?" Quinn asked as she climbed on to the bus.

"Nothing," Elliott muttered. He was not in the least interested in letting anyone in on what was bothering him. They had enough to worry about with both Kurt's and Raja's well being. They didn't need to be worried about Elliott's on top of it. "Don't worry about me. I'll be alright."

Quinn frowned at him. She knew her cousin well enough to know he was hiding something, and knew he would be stubborn enough not to want to share it with others, but she was stubborn too. "Elliott William Christopher Gilbert, something is bothering you! Spill!"

"You know I hate it when you do that," he replied, dropping into a seat on one of the couches and throwing his head back. "Look, I know you know me too well, but right now is not the time to be worried about me. We've got enough on our plate already," he told her.

She sat down beside him and put her head on his shoulder. "Just because we're all worried about Raja, doesn't mean we can't worry about you, too. I know you are as attached to that cat as Kurt is. It's normal you'd be having emotional problems right now."

Elliott dropped his head on top of hers and let out a sigh. "You know if I could, I'd be staying with them. But Blaine doesn't need to be down two assistants. And Kurt would be mad at me for ditching you guys. He doesn't like the fact that he has to stay behind, but everyone knows that Raja is his first priority."

"But you really want to stay, and it's tearing you up, isn't it?"

"I'd be lying if I said it wasn't," he told her softly. "But right now, my loyalty needs to be with you guys, even if I'd rather be with Kurt and Raja. But I haven't been sleeping."

"You never sleep anyway, I thought you'd be used to it," Quinn said, looking him over in concern. If he was sleeping even less than usual, it could affect his ability to rationalize. "Do you want a melatonin? I use them when I can't fall asleep on the bus."

Elliott bit his lip. "Normally I am used to it, but I mean I haven't slept at all the last two nights. Not for lack of trying. Do you think the melatonin would work? Or, doesn't Kurt have a package of Ambien on the bus somewhere?"

Quinn bit her lip, considering. "I know Kurt uses Ambien to help him sleep sometimes, but he says it can have weird side effects. I don't know if you should use it now without knowing how it might affect you."

Elliott snorted. "Hey, some of those side effects have been beneficial. Though I'm still not sure why Kurt's subconscious needed the entire box set series of I Love Lucy."

Quinn held back a giggle. "What ever happened to that framed portrait of Marie Antoinette? I rather liked that one!"

"I have no idea what happened to that. Though if Kurt still has it somewhere, it might come in handy for an illusion."

They were both laughing now. "I'll get you the melatonin. If it doesn't work, then you can try the Ambien." She got up and went to her bag in the back.

He tried his best to stop laughing, but at least it had helped lighten the mood a little bit. Except now he had a desire to watch those damn DVDs. Kurt must have them stashed on the bus somewhere. He was about to get up and go look for them when his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and frowned as Quinn returned with the pills and a bottle of water.

"It's Aunt Loraine," he said, answering the call. "Hello?"

Quinn listened into his side of the phone conversation, curiously. He hung up after only a couple minutes.

"Well, that's an interesting development," he said.

"What's up?" Quinn asked, handing him the melatonin and water.

"Free Wild's west coast division just busted a roadside attraction near Portland, Oregon yesterday. They have a young female Bengal tiger and her cub who need a place to stay. Aunt Loraine wanted to know if maybe Kurt would be interested in taking them in for now. Apparently the female is so docile, there is no way she'd be able to fend for herself, and they are worried if they send her to a zoo, the other tigers would harm the cub."

"Does she know about Raja? Kurt's a little frazzled right now. He might not be in the right place to take in two more tigers."

Elliott nodded. "She knows, and that was one reason she thought about him. She's certain that it was his quick thinking and the fact that there is a vet on staff with the show that saved Raja, and she thinks he would be good with the female, and she'd be more at ease with the cub being here than anywhere else."

"I guess the right thing to do though, would be to talk to Kurt about it. And then he'd probably have to talk to Wes. The enclosure home the Anderson family have for Raja is big enough for all of them, but we'd need enough room on the buses to accommodate two extra tigers," Quinn said.

Elliott nodded. "There's just over two weeks left of the tour, so I don't think it will be that much of a problem right now, but we definitely would need to make other arrangements for next year's tour."

"There is time for that of course," Quinn nodded. "If nothing else, maybe it can be arranged for the female and her cub to join up with us in Las Vegas."

"That's what Aunt Loraine was thinking as well. Right now they're both in quarantine anyway. I'll give Blaine a call, let him talk to Kurt about it."

"Good Idea," Quinn said.

Kurt was just stirring from his position, still using Raja as a pillow because he couldn't bear being too far from the tiger right then, when he overheard Blaine speaking quietly. He blinked his eyes open sleepily and stared at the magician. Blaine was standing across the enclosure, his phone to his ear and Kurt wondered who he was talking to.

"Blaine?" he mumbled sleepily, nuzzling his face into Raja's soft fur. The curly haired man turned in his direction and held up a finger. Kurt was quiet for a moment, his eyes half-lidded. He made grabby hands towards Blaine though, wanting the other's comfort. So what if he was being needy right now. His baby was sick. He was allowed to be needy. Blaine just chuckled and came and sat down beside him.

"Don't worry Elliott, I'll talk to him. Yeah, okay. Bye." Blaine hung up the phone and looked down at Kurt. "Good morning sleepyhead," he said, pressing a kiss to the other man's forehead.

"Morning," Kurt mumbled. "What was that?"

"Elliott wanted me to talk to you about something. You remember Loraine Lambert?"

"Of course I do," Kurt smiled softly, turning his head and pressing a kiss to Raja's fur. "What about her?" he asked.

Blaine smiled down at the adorable picture the man and the tiger made. "Well, she called him this morning, about a rescue here on the west coast. A three year old female tiger and her cub. They're in quarantine for now, but they are going to need someplace to live until they can find a permanent place for them. She wondered if maybe you would be interested in taking them in."

Kurt pushed himself up into a sitting position, always keeping one hand in Raja's fur and bit his lip for a moment. "What's their condition and nature towards humans?" he asked. With the female being a grown tiger already, this was a very important aspect. While he'd be happy to look after any animals short term or longer, he would be hesitant to take in any that may have hostility towards people and other animals.

Blaine smiled reassuringly at him. "Loraine says the female is so docile, they worry about her being placed with other more aggressive tigers in a zoo. And she's also concerned for the cub's safety in a zoo environment."

"Docile isn't necessarily a good thing. She could be that way because she's harboring fear towards humans, especially if she was rescued from a hostile situation." He was quiet for a moment, thinking. "How has she responded to the people who rescued her?"

"I don't know, I didn't ask. Why don't you give Loraine a call and get the details. I'll call Wes and let him know we may have two more joining us in Vegas."

"I was just thinking that. No time like the present," Kurt said, pulling out his phone and dialing Loraine's number. As Kurt made his call, Blaine called Wes.

"I figured you and your squeeze would be too busy to call me this early," Wes greeted.

Blaine rolled his eyes. "You know Kurt is in no condition for sexy times right now, Wes," he said. "That aside, this is a serious matter we need to discuss." He glanced over at Kurt who had an intent look on his face as he spoke with Loraine about the tigers, his free hand still in Raja's fur.

Wes' tone immediately got serious. "What's wrong? Has Sebastian turned up?"

"What? No, nothing like that!" Blaine quickly said. "Loraine Lambert called Elliott this morning," he started. "The west coast division of the organization that rescued Raja as a cub, rescued a grown female Bengal tiger and her cub and Loraine was wondering if Kurt would be willing to take them in. They're afraid they might be harmed by the more aggressive tigers at the zoo."

Wes relaxed a little. "What's Kurt's thoughts on this? Or is this just a courtesy call to tell me he's already agreed to take them in?"

"Kurt is currently discussing the details with Loraine. He's a bit worried that the female's docile nature may be due to fear of humans. I just wanted to give you a heads up that if he agrees to take them, we'll have two more animals coming on board when we get back to Vegas."

"I'll start working out the details, and make sure the enclosure is ready for them as well. I'll call you if there are any developments in our other problem."

"Thanks Wes. You know we both really appreciate it."

"Yeah, and when this is all over, you're paying for my therapy sessions. Or my vacation. Which ever costs more."

Blaine laughed. "Why not take the money out of Sebastian's and Adam's final paychecks? It's their fault anyway."

"Good point," Wes said, and hung up.

Blaine shook his head and turned back to Kurt who was just finishing up with Loraine. "Well? What did she say?" he asked.

"Ginger, that's the female tiger's name, seems to be very friendly. She's well underweight, but doesn't seem to have any food issues. Her cub, Tobias, is less than two weeks old, malnourished, most likely because Ginger hadn't been getting enough food during her pregnancy or while nursing. Other than that, neither of them have any health concerns. The quarantine is just standard practice."

Blaine nodded. "Wes is going to make arrangements to accommodate them. I told him you had some concerns you were discussing with Loraine and was just giving him a heads up in case you decided to take them. What are you going to do?"

He glanced down at Raja, scratching behind his ears. The large feline had been more active that morning, sitting up more easily. "Raja will have to make the final decision. He's not used to having other tigers around. If he accepts them, then I want to take them in. I made arrangements with Lorraine to visit them when we are in San Francisco. They are being held just an hour north of there." Blaine glanced down at Raja too and stroked his fur for a moment. Kurt smiled. "What time is it?"

"Almost ten. Just enough time for some breakfast and then I have to head to the airport."

Kurt's stomach growled at the mention of breakfast. "I would love some banana split waffles right now. I know I will regret them later, but I think I deserve a treat."

Blaine leaned in and kissed him sweetly. "Whatever you want, love." He smiled at him and looked back down at the cat. "How about you, Raja? Are you up for some breakfast?"

The regal cat made a silly face at him, and then rolled over on his back, wanting a belly scratch. Kurt laughed.

"Your wish is my command, Your Majesty," Blaine said playfully, reaching out his hand to start scratching the tiger's belly. Marley appeared then with a serving dish.

"Looks like I'm just in time," she said. "He's definitely looking a lot better today, but I want to stick with a soft diet, at least for a couple more days." She set the dish of ground beef, green vegetables, and blueberries in front of Raja, who immediately rolled over and sat up to eat.

Blaine couldn't help beaming at the tiger. "We're so proud of you, Raja," he said before he stood up and looked at Marley. "You wouldn't know where I can get some banana split waffles for Kurt, would you?" he asked her.

"Do you want to pick them up, or have them delivered? There's a place not far from here that delivers."

"Delivery would be perfect actually," Blaine said, glancing down at Kurt. "I just don't want to leave them until I absolutely have to."

Kurt smiled up at him, feeling his heart swell as Blaine once again alluded to their family unit. "If you're ordering delivery, add a side of ham to those waffles, and a large Mocha, non-"

"Nonfat," Blaine interrupted, smiling back at him. "I know."

Kurt felt his face flush with ridiculous pride. The more Blaine did for him, the more he loved him, and he hadn't even thought it was possible for him to love Blaine anymore than he already did. "You're the best, Blaine," he said.

Blaine blew him a kiss, and then placed the order, leaving Kurt and Raja just long enough to use the bathroom once the order was sent.

Kurt sat stroking Raja's head as the cat happily ate his meal. He pressed a kiss into the animal's fur. "Do you hear that, Raja? We're a family. You, me, and Blaine. A family. What do you think of that?"

The animal looked up to him, bumping his head up under Kurt's chin briefly, before returning to his food. Kurt smiled. "And maybe, if you like them, Ginger and Tobias can join us too. Would you like that?"

Raja looked up at Kurt with a very curious expression on his face, blinking at the pale man for a moment, before he just returned to his food yet again.

"Well, at least you aren't opposed to the idea entirely. I hope you like her. I hope she likes you."

Blaine returned from the bathroom then and just stood in the doorway a moment, watching Kurt with Raja. Nothing made him smile bigger than how happy Kurt was when he was with that tiger. And that made Blaine even happier. As he watched, an image flashed through his mind, of Kurt, holding the hand of a toddler, as the baby played with Raja's tail.

Kurt looked up suddenly and chuckled lightly. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Not long," the hazel eyed man replied, smiling softly. "I was just admiring the view."

Kurt rolled his eyes and turned to press another kiss to Raja's fur. "I'm just happy he's getting better. I don't know what I would do without him."

"I'm just happy to see that smile on your face again. I was worried that after Friday night, I would never see it again."

Kurt sighed and turned back to look at him. "I'm so sorry I scared you and worried you. You know that's the last thing I ever want to do."

"I know, and I understand. Raja is very important to you, partly because of your mom. I get that. Don't feel like you have to apologize to me for caring about him so much."

"Sometimes you are so perfect, Blaine, I have to stop and ask myself, 'how is he even real?'"

Blaine laughed. "I've asked myself the same thing about you, believe me."

Kurt looked up at him, his eyes shining in the light streaming through the windows. "I love you Blaine Anderson."

"I love you too, Kurt Hummel."

"I hate to break up your love fest," Marley said from just outside the door, 'but your food is here."

Kurt laughed lightly. "Go get our food, love. I'm not going anywhere."

Blaine returned a few minutes later with their delivery, and sat down beside Kurt. They ate in silence for a while, content just to feel the other next to them. Blaine ate as slow as he could, knowing that as soon as he finished, he'd have to say goodbye. His flight to LA left at two thirty, and he needed to be at the airport by noon.

Kurt tried not to let the growing sadness that he was about to be parted from Blaine for at least a day or so, fester within him. Now that he knew Blaine considered the three of them a family, it made it that much harder to part from the other man. And he realized he hadn't actually heard from Finn since he'd called to tell him about the delay. He hoped his stepbrother was alright.

Blaine looked at the last bite of his hazelnut chocolate waffles, wondering if he didn't eat it, it would mean he could stay here forever, but he knew that wasn't how things worked. With a sigh he ate it.

"I suppose you have to go now?" Kurt asked.

"I've never wanted to be selfish more than I do now. To say postpone the next shows just so I can stay with you until you can come back with me. But that's not who I am. God, Kurt, it may only be a day, but I'm going to miss you so much. And Raja too."

Kurt leaned into him, kissing him with every ounce of love in his being. "Twenty four hours will feel like twenty four years. But I know you need to go. I want you to text me when you get to the airport, and when you land, and before you take the stage tonight."

Blaine clung to that one kiss, holding it in his heart to never let go. "I will, I promise. Make sure Raja knows how much we all love him, me especially. I can't wait to see you again. And I just wish I didn't have to leave you alone."

"Not completely alone," a voice said from the hall. "You two aren't kissing or anything in there, are you?" Finn called out. "You both have your clothes on and everything?"

"Oh my Gaga!" Kurt shouted, dropping his face into his hand. "Right Finn, because we're really going to have sex with a giant protective tiger a few feet away!"

The tall man came around the door frame. "Well how should I know what you two do with that creature around! And no, I'm not implying you do anything gross or anything with him, but who knows what he sees around you two?"

Kurt and Blaine were both gaping at him in complete shock. Even Raja was staring at the tall man with an incredulous look on his face. The big cat raised both front paws and hid his eyes behind them.

Blaine swore he heard Kurt mutter something about being grateful not to share actual DNA with the other man. He knew Kurt loved Finn like a brother, but sometimes even he was glad they weren't actually related by blood.

"I really need to go now. I'll call you later." He kissed Kurt one more time, before forcing himself to stand up. He moved over to Raja and gave the cat a gentle little hug. "You feel better soon, boy," he told the tiger. He passed Finn on his way out the door. "Maybe you could try thinking through what you want to say a little more?" he suggested, awkwardly patting Finn on the shoulder. "Just keep Kurt company. I'll see you all in LA tomorrow, hopefully."

"Sorry, dude," Finn said, actually looking sheepish. "That just didn't come out well, did it?"

"No, Finn," Kurt said. "It most certainly did not." He was glad Finn was aware that he wasn't the most graceful with words. "We should work on your articulation."

The large word made Finn look confused. "What does my blood pressure have to do with this?"
