Chapter Twenty Six
Blaine and Kurt's house was packed. Kurt had been surprised when Burt and Carole arrived early that morning, not knowing that Blaine had invited them so they could be there when they revealed their relationship to the world. They'd also invited Blaine's parents and brother to join them for lunch that day, along with Tina, Quinn, Elliott, Rachel, Finn, Mike, Artie, Sam, and Sam's family. Wes was there as well, and several other members of the crew, including David and Beatz. Blaine had also invited Nick and Jeff, Santana, Mercedes, and Trent. Marley was also there, and Dave, who had arrived with Elliott.
They'd had the lunch catered, since they had so many people to feed, but it had been well worth it to see Sam's younger brother and sister feeding Ginger scraps from their plates, and helping to give Tobi his bottle. Kurt thought either Carole or Mercedes would try sneaking the cub out in their purses, the way the two of them doted over the baby tiger.
As they finished lunch, Blaine stood up to make a speech. He cleared his throat. "I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for being here. This means a lot to both Kurt and I, especially knowing all the support we already have going into this. We're ready to tell the world about us and we can't wait to celebrate the moment with you all."
"Just remember to show your good side when you do it!" Cooper called out, teasingly.
Kurt raised an eyebrow at him. "You want Blaine to have his ass to the audience when we reveal our relationship?" The others all laughed at that. "Seriously, though, thank you all. Your love and support has been amazing, and without it, there would be no magic."
…
"Five minutes until curtain!" Artie called out as the intermission drew to an end.
Blaine smiled at Kurt. "Are you ready for this?"
Kurt reached up and kissed him softly, placing both hands on his cheeks. "More than ready. I can't wait to do that whenever and wherever I want."
They kissed again, before Tina knocked softly on the door. "I'm really excited about this. I really am happy for both of you."
Blaine smiled and hugged her. "Thanks, Tina. We're happy for you, too. And thank you for agreeing to help with this part."
She smiled. "I've never actually worked with Raja before. This will be exciting!"
"Speaking of Raja," Kurt said. "I should get him ready. I'll see you on stage in a few minutes."
As Tina and Blaine waited backstage for their cue, Blaine turned to her and smiled. "You know I've really missed you Tina, the real you, the one who's standing here now," he said.
She looked back at him. "I know. And I know I still will be making up for all that for a while, but I appreciate you and everyone giving me a chance to be myself again. And I really am happy for you and Kurt. He suits you."
Blaine grinned at her as flashing lights signaled the start of the second half of the show. He held up his wrists and Tina looped the rope around them, tying them together. "You ready?" he said.
"Let's do this!" she replied. The music started and Tina marched out onto the stage, pulling on the rope like a leash. Blaine twirled out and into her arms and they danced together for a moment, a unique choreography given the rope tied around the magician's wrists.
An old chest sat center stage and Tina and Blaine danced over and around it before Tina released the rope and moved to flip open the lid of the chest. She reached down and pulled up a bag, spreading it open and stepping into it for a moment to show that it was empty. Tina spread the top of the bag out over the opening of the chest and danced back away, picking up Blaine's rope.
And then the dancing stopped and Blaine pretended to fight the pull of rope as she tugged him forward. He pretended to trip and stumble into the chest. Tina pushed him down and pulled the bag up, closing it and tying it off with another length of rope. Blaine struggled inside the bag. Tina picked up the lid and shut it heavily.
She danced a bit more before she picked up an old fashioned padlock and slipped it into the hook on the front of the chest, locking the lid down.
The tempo of the music picked up and Tina danced over to a curtain, folded neatly on the floor. She spun in a circle with it, once she'd picked it up and then climbed on top of the chest. Tina had the curtain up. She raised it once above her head and brought it down again. She raised it a second time, bringing it down once more. She raised it a third time and it hovered for a second before the curtain was ripped right down the middle and Blaine now stood in her place.
The audience cheered in approval, but the illusion wasn't over yet.
Blaine jumped off the chest, dressed in a different outfit from the pirate style shirt and pants he'd been wearing. Now he wore a pair of formal dinner trousers with a white button down shirt and a tuxedo style vest. Almost as if he had changed for a special occasion in the middle of the show.
The magician grabbed a key from where it had been lying on the stage, next to the padlock and moved over to the chest, kneeling to slip the key into the lock. A moment later, he pulled off the padlock and flipped open the lid.
The bag inside was moving, someone was struggling within it. Blaine untied the bag and it dropped as Tina popped out, also having done a costume change. The magician offered his hand to help her out of the chest and they danced to the rise of the crescendo and stopped close together on the final beat.
The audience cheered as they held the pose for several seconds. And then new music began to play as Kurt rushed out on stage, grabbing Tina and pulling her out of Blaine's arms and into his own. He danced with her for a moment, before Blaine grabbed Tina and Pulled her back. The two men pulled her back and forth several times, until she suddenly pulled herself free of both men, glaring at them and stomping off stage.
Neither Kurt or Blaine seemed to notice she was gone as they continued to 'argue,' and shove each other around. Kurt grabbed Blaine by the collar, speaking so low no one but Blaine would hear what he said. "What's with the fancy outfit? You didn't tell me about that."
"I just felt like dressing up a little. This is a special moment for me." He smiled softly at the blue eyed assistant.
They continued to struggle with each other for a moment as the cage was wheeled on stage. Kurt shoved Blaine against the bars, and then dragged him to the door, opening it and shoving him inside. Blaine stumbled and seemed to fall, only to jump back up when he realized there was a tiger in the cage. Raja snarled as if on cue, as Kurt danced around outside the cage, picking up the large padlock, being sure to show it to the audience, before locking the cage door shut.
Blaine glanced around in desperation, spotting the red curtain just within reach. He grabbed it and pulled it into the cage as he maneuvered himself into one of the corners. Raja followed his movements, and swiped out at him, just as he pulled the curtain up over his head. A moment later, the curtain dropped, and Blaine was nowhere to be seen.
Kurt stopped dancing and stared into the cage, shock on his face. From the left side of the stage, Elliott came running out, dragging a large screen behind him. He ran between Kurt and the audience, blocking the audience's view for only a matter of seconds.
When the screen moved out of the way once more, Tina was inside the cage with the tiger, looking scared for her life, while center stage, Blaine was holding Kurt in his arms, kissing him passionately.
Silence filled the room for a moment, as no one in the audience had been anticipating this. There were plenty of people who'd seen the illusion done before and even they were thrown for a loop.
But as Blaine and Kurt parted, breathing heavily and staring into each other's eyes, the audience erupted into the loudest cheers any of them had heard yet.
"I love you," Kurt murmured softly, although anyone in the audience who could read lips knew what he was saying. They shared another sweet kiss, before turning to the audience and taking their bows.
Kurt was so distracted for a moment, with the audiences' cheers and Blaine, he hadn't noticed that Quinn had ushered the rest of the assistants and Raja on stage.
Blaine cleared his throat. "I know people have been speculating for a long time and I know you've heard the interview where I admitted I was indeed with someone. Kurt and I have been a couple for quite some time now. Almost as long as we've known each other. And no, we didn't keep it private because we were ashamed." He turned and offered Kurt a smile. "The timing just never seemed right. But we're done keeping it secret now, so I hope you all can support us."
Many people in the audience cheered and whistled. Burt, Carole, and Blaine's parents and brother all standing and applauding.
The magician smiled. "We'd like to move on with the show, but first, I had something very important I wanted to do."
Kurt looked confused. This hadn't been part of the plan. What was Blaine doing? And then the shorter man got down on one knee, and Kurt thought his legs were going to give out.
Blaine reached out and took a hold of one of Kurt's hands in his. "Kurt, there is a moment, a magic moment, when you say to yourself, 'Oh, there you are! I've been looking for you forever.' Doing what I do, bringing magic to the world, brought real magic to me. It brought you to me. And the world knows no truer or stronger magic than that of love. I love you, more than words will ever be able to express. You are the magic in my life. And I never ever want that magic to end." He paused and reached his free hand into his pocket, pulling out the royal blue ring box.
Kurt gasped and covered his mouth with his free hand, even as the audience began to murmur, awwing and oohing.
"So, Kurt Hummel," Blaine went on. "My amazing, magical friend, my one true love." And here he popped open the ring box. "Will you marry me?"
At first Kurt could only nod his head, unable to speak through the lump in his throat. Finally he managed to squeak out a reply. "Yeah." He cleared his throat and tried again. "Yes! Yes!" He pulled Blaine to his feet and kissed him, and then allowed Blaine to slip the ring on his finger.
The audience roared in approval, jumping to their feet and applauding.

…
Blaine and Kurt met with Blaine's mom and dad in the lobby where many of the fans and show-goers who had tickets to the second show were just hanging out. Blaine was shaking his head at his father.
"I can't believe you made a troll account, dad!"
Robert laughed. "I wondered how long it would take you to figure it out, but I'll let you in on a secret. I didn't make the account, Cooper did. I just took it over and changed the password to lock him out."
"And you didn't think to change the handle? When I figured out it was you it felt so weird to read that when I knew you were my daddy." Blaine shook his head. "What the hell was Cooper's intention by making that account anyway?"
The older Anderson laughed again. "That was half the fun! And I think your brother did it as a way to show you some support without getting in your way."
Blaine looked thoughtful for a moment, and Kurt put a hand on his shoulder. The curly haired magician grinned. "So dad, what do you think of your future son-in-law?"
Robert pretended to size up Kurt critically. He shrugged. "I guess he'll do." Kurt laughed and slapped him on the shoulder. "Seriously, though, I am so happy for both of you. Kurt, I am honored to welcome you to the family. Not that I had any doubts you'd be joining us the first time I saw you and Blaine together. Besides, you brought us Raja. You know I love that overgrown house cat!"
Kurt just beamed at him. "He loves you too, Bob. Honestly, I feel like Raja was always an Anderson, thanks to the enclosure you guys had made for him. On another note, did you know about what Blaine was planning?"
"I had a thought it might happen tonight, but I wasn't privy to all the information."
"Hey, kiddo!" Burt said, he and Carole finally managing to reach them through the crowd.
"Dad!" Kurt said, throwing himself into his father's arms as the older Hummel chuckled. Blaine looked slightly sheepish.
"I hope you'll forgive me, Burt, for not telling you guys what I was planning. Actually, only my mom, Quinn, and Raja knew."
"That cat knows everything!" Burt said, before turning to shake Robert's hand. "Your son sure knows how to pull off a marriage proposal."
Kurt suddenly had a thought and turned to Blaine. "Wait a second, when did you even have the chance to get the ring?" he asked.
Blaine just grinned. "The day you, Elliott, and Raja went to meet Ginger and Tobias. I took Quinn with me to a jewelry shop my mom recommended that did customized jewelry in a matter of hours."
Kurt studied the ring even closer. There really hadn't been time during the show to look at it. Carole smiled and hugged him. "Where did you find an opal that matched Kurt's eyes?"
"The man at the shop had it already. He said it was special and came from a meteorite," Blaine said.
"I love it," Kurt said, leaning over to give him a quick kiss on the lips, which had some of the fans in line who hadn't been to the first show, or on social media yet, surprised. "And I love the domed shape. It makes it look like something from a magical realm."
"That's exactly what I was going for. You are my magic, Kurt. I wanted the ring to reflect that. And just how special you are to me."
Pam hugged both of them, and then hugged Burt and Carole as well. "You guys raised an amazing kid here," she said.
"We could say the same to you about Blaine," Burt replied. "I never met a kid who put so much thought into everyone else's happiness."
"KLAINE!" shouted two familiar voices, and in the next moment, Blaine had an armful of two very familiar men, or he should probably call them boys still.
"Oh my god, who let the trolls out of their cave?" Kurt joked, seconds before the two men scooped him up between them in a crushing hug.
"Blaine invited us!" Jeff stated, throwing his arms out wildly.
Nick smacked him in the shoulder. "He already knew that Jeff, we had lunch at their home today." he said, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, right!" the blonde said, shrugging. "I forgot! But we're here and we're queer! So, yay!"
Kurt rolled his eyes, but smiled affectionately at the other two men. "You two never change."
Their parents had politely excused themselves to talk to some of the other assistants and before Kurt or Blaine could continue the conversation with their childish friends, another voice popped up behind them.
"Porcelain, young Bert Reynolds, thanks for confirming stage one of my master plan."
Kurt spun around. "Oh my God," he said, gawking. Blaine was frowning. "What are you doing here, Sue?" the pale man added.
At the name, Blaine looked at Kurt sharply. "Wait, this is Coach Sue, the one you used to mention all the time when people asked about your flexibility? That one who terrorized students and faculty alike? That Sue?"
"The one and only," The woman answered for herself. "I've been following Porcelain's career since he graduated from McKinley, and I must say all my years of training him have finally paid off."
"All your years of training me?" Kurt said, raising an eyebrow. "I was only a Cheerio for one year!"
The woman smirked. "And look how well it taught you to bend over backwards, Porcelain." Kurt rolled his eyes, but she continued. "Besides, I wasn't only training you to be a Cheerio. I was training you for life. I saw so much potential in you, but I knew if you weren't prepared, life would squash you under its weight of despair and hate."
Kurt stared at her for a long moment. Sue had a funny way of showing when she actually cared about someone. But he had to admit, he did owe her a lot. "Thanks?" he said, not really sure if that was what she was looking for.
She shook her head. "Just use your powers for good. Protect those weaker than you, like my Jean." And with that, she turned and disappeared into the crowd.
"Well," Kurt said, shaking his head. "She's the last person I ever expected to see here." Sue was so much, even Nick and Jeff were stunned silent. Kurt shook it off, and smiled at his fiance. "Let's make a few fans happy, shall we?" He indicated the crowd of people watching them in the lobby.
"You make a very compelling suggestion," Blaine said with a wink. "Who shall we talk to first?"
Kurt looked around and spotted two women standing by one of the doors to the floor level of seats. "Let's go say hi to them. They look a little lonely off by themselves like that."
The taller woman looked shocked as the two men approached them, and she nudged the younger woman next to her, who hadn't seen them yet.
The other woman looked up and her eyes got wide as she adjusted her glasses and looked at her friend. "Are they really coming over here?" she asked.
"I think so," the first woman whispered back, her voice shaking, as she smiled at the two younger men.
"Oh my God," the other woman said, her mouth gaping open just a little bit.
"Hi!" Blaine greeted them enthusiastically, a smile spread across his face.
"H-hi!" the one with gray hair said. "Hello. I can't believe you're here, talking to us!"
Kurt laughed. "Well, you two looked a little lonely so we thought we might keep you company for a few minutes," he said.
"Okay, this kind of luck never happens to me," the blonde woman said. "My mom, sure, she gets this lucky, but me, no."
Blaine chuckled. "Well, it looks like your luck has changed. You look a little familiar. Didn't I see you at the show last night with a guy on his knee?"
Her mouth dropped open and she looked at her friend for a moment. "You saw that?"
He laughed. "I was actually a little relieved he did it last night instead of tonight. I wouldn't have wanted to upstage him. What's your name? And where is the lucky fellow tonight?"
She ducked her head a moment and cleared her throat. "Well, we wouldn't have wanted to upstage you either. But he bought the tickets before you told everyone about today's shows. My name is Taryn, but I usually tell people to call me Terra, because it's easier to remember. This is my friend Cathy. She jumped on the chance to come here when the Saturday tickets went on sale. My fiance is actually handling some business for work today, so he's back at the hotel."
The older woman smiled at them. "I lucked out and managed to get tickets for both shows. If it hadn't been for the fact Terra already had a hotel suite where I could spend the night, I probably wouldn't have been able to come. I'm glad I did! I'm so happy for both of you!"
"Thank you very much," Kurt said, smiling at both women. "Blaine is probably the only person I know who can manage to surprise me." He laughed.
Terra grinned at them both. "We are really happy for you both and honored to be a part of such a special moment. Cathy and I actually met online, writing fanfiction about you two."
Cathy blushed. "I hope that doesn't upset you. I know some celebrities don't like when people write fanfiction about them."
Blaine's eyes went wide a moment and he looked at Kurt. "Wait, people write fanfiction about us? I thought everyone thought I was with Tina."
Cathy giggled nervously as she exchanged a look with her friend. "Well, not everyone shipped you with Tina. I mean, you and her do have some chemistry on stage, but more like water and vinegar. You and Kurt are more like steel and flint."
Terra nodded. "I mean, if the fans had paid actual attention, the sexual tension between you two is hard to miss. Cathy and I never really believed you guys actually hated each other."
Cathy nodded. "I mean, I saw those pictures someone took of the two of you, you know the ones that supposedly showed you two having some kind of drunken argument in that bar? But when you look at it more closely, you could SEE the sparks you two were giving off." She blushed again. "I even mentioned to a coworker that I bet you two went back to one of your hotel rooms together and had really hot sex."
Kurt was blushing now, looking at Blaine out of the corner of his eye. That was exactly what had happened, but he wasn't about to admit that out loud. "So, you guys started writing stories about us? Where do you post that kind of thing? And would I be embarrassed if I read one?"
Terra was trying not to laugh. "We mostly post on a site called Archive of Our Own or Ao3 for short. Cathy posts on still. As for whether you'd be embarrassed, well, I guess that would depend on which story you read. I personally write a lot of explicit stuff, but we have tamer stuff too."
Blaine laughed. "I've read some stories on Ao3. I just never thought to look and see if anyone had posted anything about me. What are your writers' names?"
"I'm dreamcatcher (darcangell23)," Terra said. "Cathy's is the same as her Twitter handle, grlnxtdr29. You've probably seen us both on Social Media. My tumblr name is klainedreams34, my Twitter handle is different." She laughed. "My current Twitter handle is darcangell34."
Cathy nodded. "I use grlnxtdr29 on all my social media, except Tumblr, where I'm grlnxtdr30. For some reason I couldn't get 29 on there."
Kurt looked thoughtful for a moment. "Grlnxtdr? Like GiRL NeXT DooR?"
She smiled. "Exactly! A former roommate actually gave me the nickname. I used to hate it, but I got used to it. Some people call me GND online."
Blaine smiled at the two of them. "Well, it was really nice to meet you both. We'll have to look up your work, for fun, won't we love?"
Cathy giggled at the pet name, even as Kurt smiled. "I look forward to acquainting myself with fan fiction. Do we have a ship name among the fans?"
"Where do you think Klaine comes from?" Terra asked, winking at them. "Also, be sure to check out the fics Cathy and I wrote together." She smiled. "And it was a dream come true to meet you both!"
The men posed for a selfie with the two women, and then said goodbye, before moving on to say hello to a few other fans.
…
The music was both daunting and sexy as Blaine swished around in the lab coat. He'd just finished binding Kurt down to the table. The assistant was dressed in a skintight black leather catsuit, the material hugging his body in all the right places. His wrists were chained in cuffs above his head and he kicked his legs, jerking his head from side to side. His hair was wild, looking like someone had been running their fingers through it and tugging.
Blaine pushed the table until it was standing upright and Kurt was staring out at the audience, his teeth clenched and his breathing heavy.
The magician smirked first at Kurt and then at the audience. He ran a hand down the blue eyed man's cheek, and then moved across to the side of the stage where a large futuristic looking gun stood. Blaine tapped a few smaller buttons, turned to look back at Kurt on the table and then hit a giant red button.
A laser shot out of the gun and Kurt let out a cry as the beam sliced right through the center of the table. His head fell limply to the side. Blaine switched the laser off and moved back to the table where he unchained Kurt's wrists and lifted his top half up, leaving the assistant's waist and legs behind.
He placed Kurt's top half on a wooden swing and snapped his fingers in front of his face. Kurt's head shot up and he blinked several times. His hands wrapped around the chains of the swing and he looked over at Blaine.
The curly haired man sat himself on the stage beside the swing and reached up, cupping Kurt's cheek with one hand as the latter nuzzled against it. The expression on Blaine's face appeared sad, almost as if he regretted doing this to Kurt.
Kurt pressed a kiss to the palm of Blaine's hand and reached out one of his hands to stroke the magician's cheek. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment before Blaine stood up again and moved back to where Kurt's legs were still against the table.
With another smirk and a wink, Blaine started dancing a little with Kurt's lower half, running his hands up and down his legs. Kurt threw his head back, his mouth gaping open from his position on the swing. When Blaine glanced his way, he bit his lip and stared at the magician and suddenly, Blaine was fastening the lab coat he was wearing, closed. He gave Kurt a look and the assistant just licked his lips seductively.
Blaine walked back over and waved his hand slowly in front of Kurt's face. Kurt fell limp again. The shorter man picked Kurt's torso back up and danced a bit with it before bringing it back to the table, where he chained Kurt's wrists back up again. He then danced back over to the laser and opened a small door in the side, pointing to a dial, which he grabbed and turned to the left. It now pointed at the word 'reverse.' Blaine shut the door and hit the giant button again.
The laser fired up a second time, and drew itself backwards across the table before dying down. Blaine moved back over to Kurt and waved his hand again. The assistant opened his eyes and Blaine ran a hand down his cheek, leaning in close as they stared at each other.
Kurt couldn't resist this time. He closed the small gap and kissed the magician. Blaine's hand lingered on Kurt's cheek a moment longer than usual, before he came to his senses and unchained Kurt's wrists again.
Blaine held out his hand. Kurt took it and stepped off the table, spinning into Blaine to the crescendo of the music, and coming to a stop with his leg hooked around one of Blaine's and his hand on the other man's cheek.
There were screams of approval, as the audience cheered and clapped. So far the audience had reacted very well to the steamier scenes with Kurt and Blaine.
"Whoo, that was a hot one!" Blaine said, fanning himself and sipping from a bottle of water. Kurt stood to the side of the stage, leaning casually against the wall and sucking on a lollipop. Blaine momentarily wondered where he'd gotten it, but he wasn't sucking on it very innocently. "Kuuurrrttt," Blaine groaned, unable to help himself.
The audience laughed, and there were several whistles and catcalls.
"Am I tempting you, honey?" Kurt asked casually, sliding the candy slowly out of his mouth. He knew exactly what he was doing to the magician.
"You can't just do things like that," Blaine said. Kurt just smiled sweetly. Blaine shook himself off and straightened up a little. "Don't make me get out the whip."
Kurt smirked. "Promises, promises," he teased, and then strolled off stage.
"I need a cold shower," Blaine remarked. "That aside, Kurt and I would like to thank our two new friends we met between shows, Cathy and Terra, for introducing us to Klaine fanfiction. You all should check it out too!"
You could just make out the two women squeeeeeeeeeling when Blaine mentioned their names, but the sound was almost drowned out by the cheers and applause of the rest of the audience.
Blaine laughed. "Usually this is the time of night when I do one final little illusion as I say goodnight, but as many of you already know, I am now an engaged man, and the love of my life is calling me to celebrate backstage. So I'll just leave you with this little piece of wisdom. Always allow the magic to guide you. It will lead you where you are meant to be." He made a little bow to the audience, and then took two steps backward, and simply vanished, leaving the audience in shock.
