Author's Note: Hello there, welcome back to another chapter of the story. Previously Hiccup got a new book from Johann, and something washed ashore on Berk. What is it? And what's going to happen? Well you'll find out in this chapter. Without taking up too much time, enjoy.

Chapter 2: Strange Encounter

There was plenty of echoing chatter happening within the Great Hall, as many of Berk's Vikings could be seen sitting down at the various tables, either eating or enjoying one another's company. Everyone back from the docks as Trader Johann left already, and now they were going back to their regular routines. Amongst them happens to be Hiccup, who was occupying the table he and his friends would always sit at. Berk's heir has a plate of food near him, but at this point it was ignored as in front of him is his new book. He had decided now to look through it and to be honest, he found it really interesting.

"Wow Toothless...I have no idea why no one would find this a good read," Hiccup spoke to his dragon as he turned a page, seeing a drawing of a short looking person, who looked like a normal human, but with a difference in size.

Toothless, who happens to be lying down next to the table perked his head, "Whatever keeps you interested, but I don't really trust it as much."

Hiccup looked down at the page and started to read it, "Dwarfs are highly knowledgeable, skilled, and powerful with magic. Not only that, but some are considered to be master craftsmen, as one such Dwarf is responsible for creating Lord Thor's Hammer, Mjölnir...wow...that's really interesting, makes me wonder if it's really a myth or not...but that warning on the front of the book says otherwise."

"Well...if you can't see it, it doesn't mean it's not there," Toothless warbled, showing his stance on the issue, but once more his rider didn't know what he was saying.

"Either way, I'm glad I got this, as it reads just like the book of Dragons...hel, this might even be a somewhat duplicate," Hiccup smiled as he prepared to turn the page, but stopped as the book was pulled out away from him. "Hey!"

"What do you got here?" Snotlout turned out to be the one responsible as he held the book and looked it over. The twins turned out to be with him.

"Wow, were you drawing Snotlout Hiccup?" Tuffnut snickered as he looked at the picture of the Dwarf.

"Hey!" the buff teen called out, not liking being compared to the picture.

"I can see a resemblance," Ruffnut smiled, she too snickering.

"No, it's not a picture of Snotlout," Hiccup responded as he tried to get the book back, but it was moved away from his reach.

"Dwarfs...trolls...elves? You got a book of myths that parents tell their kids about?" Snotlout looked at his cousin in disbelief, after turning the pages some.

"Well...y-yeah but-" Hiccup tried to defend himself but got cut off.

"I don't know what's unbelievable, you actually believe in these," Snotlout responded, but then was cut off by Tuffnut. "Or that you were crazy enough to get something like this…I would have to say it's both."

"Or the fact that picture of the dwarf looks like Snotlout," Tuffnut added as he started to laugh. "Long lost family member?"

Snotlout growled as he shoved Tuffnut down to the ground in irritation. He then turned back to his cousin, "Come on Hiccup, this is the real world, creatures like these don't exist and for being as smart as you claim, I'm surprised you entertain these thoughts." He waved the book around...which was then snatched out from under him. "Hey!"

"Maybe you're just jealous Hiccup managed to get something, and you didn't," It was Astrid, who was the one to grab the book and hand it back.

"Thank you," the one-legged teen took the item back, but kept it close so it wouldn't get snatched again.

"Come on, i'm just trying to be real here," Snotlout responded back, not liking how he was easily stolen from. "Everyone knows myths like those are only used in stories, no one has ever seen any of them at all."

"Although Gobber keeps on saying that trolls exist," Ruffnut said.

"He doesn't count," Snotlout rolled his eyes. "No matter how much he believes he never has proof."

"Well not everyone has to be like you," the Astrid responded with her arms folded. "Hiccup can believe in anything he likes."

"I still say it was a waste of a trade," the burly Viking snorts.

"Actually, Johann gave it to me," Hiccup responded back simply.

"What!?" Snotlout couldn't help but say in surprise. "Why do you keep getting all the free stuff?!"

"Wow, you get free stuff?" Tuffunut couldn't help but ask.

"Can we get in on it?" Ruffnut then said. All Hiccup did was sigh as he closed the book and stood up, food forgotten as he decided to walk off. Knowing that a conversation like this would go in a direction he didn't like and decided to just get out of there before it happened.

"Hey, where are you going!?" Snotlout called out to his cousin.

"Maybe to get away from you," Astrid fired back.

"Hey, I'm a cool guy to be around!" Snotlout argued back, the two of them now getting into a verbal debate as the twins watched. Giving Hiccup cover to leave, Toothless walked up behind his rider to follow.

The crackling of fire is heard as Hiccup is seated before the brazier within his home. The teen decided to seek solace within his home to continue to look at his book, hopefully in peace. Besides, the sun was going down anyway and there wasn't much for him to do at the moment. Plus, he was so enthralled in this book that he could hardly put it down. The more pages he turned the more creatures information there is along with some of them having sketches of them. Some did, some didn't yet they all contained text on it ranging to a few words to a page or two worth of info.

Toothless sat down next to his rider, looking at the book as well, reading it alongside him as well…Well that is what Hiccup thought as he wasn't sure if Dragons could read. "I never seen you so engaged in a book before...well other than the one that has information on my kind."

"I'm really glad Johann gave this to me…real or not it's always nice to brush up on some knowledge," Hiccup said aloud as he turned the page to the next entry. Both eyes rose as he saw a picture of a skeleton like humanoid. It looked human, but also like someone who had decayed a significant amount...but the problem was that the picture seemed unfinished. Both eyes went up to read the text but didn't find that much information written. "Draugr...A reanimated corpse that is sometimes associated with ghosts, but a Draugr has a physical body to move around in. Any person who was nasty, mean, or greedy can come back from the dead, as they refuse to follow the path of death...warning, I've only encountered A Draugr once before, and what I've seen-"

It was then his head perked up upon hearing the front door open, his father coming inside as both their eyes locked onto one another. "Hey, Hiccup, didn't expect to see you home early," he said, as usually his son is out and about, but brushed it off as he went over to the table in the back of the home.

"Yes, just reading a new book I got from Trader Johann," the teen responded as he closed the book and held it up.

"Oh, did you now," the chief couldn't help but walk over to his son's side and look at it, but raised his eye as he couldn't see a title. "What is it?"

Hiccup felt a bit embarrassed at the topic of the book, reminding him of Snotlout's reaction. It was one thing to get some comments about it from his friends but his father, that was different. Yet for some reason he felt that his dad wouldn't judge him, not after all they have been through so far. But there is always still that chance…but he decided to be honest this time around, chances are the truth would come out eventually. "It's basically a detailed book about creatures that are said to be myths."

"Really?" Stoick raised an eye at that. "You mean the creatures from those old scary stories parents tend to tell their kids?"

"Y-Yeah," Hiccup nodded, not liking the way his father responded, now feeling a bit foolish at revealing the truth.

Stoick was silent for a moment before he shrugged, "That sounds right up your alley."

"W-What?" both of Hiccup, and Toothless', eyes rose up at that comment.

"You have your interests, who am I to tell you otherwise," the chief turned back to the table and walked over to it, where some papers were scattered all over.

"I...didn't expect you to say that" Hiccup stood up, still surprised at it.

"I know you tend to read a lot, whatever entertains you, don't let me stop you," the chief turned to give his son a small smile, which lifted the spirits of the teen.

"T-Thanks…" Hiccup couldn't help but say, smiling as he watched his father rummage through the papers, collecting some of them. It elated him a lot as this is seen as a breath through between the both of them. Usually, in the past, when his father disagreed with Hiccup on something like this, it always ended badly. Which of course led to that usual scowl the chief would always give. But now, that was all different as it seemed like the man was more accepting of his child's preferences. Yet, as he thought about this, something came to mind. If his dad was cool with him reading about such myths...then what were his views on it? "Um...dad?"

"Yes?" Stoick stopped to turn and give his child his attention.

"Do...Do you believe in any of these myths?" Hiccup asked, wanting to at least get a perspective on this, and see what another thought. Who better to ask than his father?

Stoick didn't respond at first, giving his child a look of confusion. Curious as to why he would be asking that? Was there a purpose to it? Plus, it was a question that he wasn't expecting nor ever thought he would be asked. Still, he was asked, and he tries to be honest with his child...plus they are alone right now. "To be honest Hiccup...I'm in the middle."

"The middle?" Hiccup asked, getting to his father's side.

"I wouldn't say I'm a believer...yet I won't say I dismiss the idea entirely," Stoick explained calmly, looking his son in the eye. "At a point I would have not believed in any of this, and just play it off as a fantasy...To me, seeing was believing and unless I witnessed it with my very two eyes then it either couldn't happen nor was real. Yet…my views changed as I realized that the impossible can happen."

"Really?" Both of the teen's eyes rose in surprise, getting a nod in return.

"I mean, if dragons and Vikings can live peacefully together...something that was considered impossible, then who am I to say that not everything can't be believed in." Stoick continued on. "So…I'm still on the whole seeing is believing concept…but now I don't dismiss impossible thoughts…well not all of them."

"Wow...that's interesting to hear," Hiccup responded, the explanation given rang true in his mind, but also hearing his dad say that surprised him further. He knew what he meant by the impossible happening, mainly as it was him that proved that impossible feat. So, if he was able to change his father's mind, then who knows what else could happen. "Do you find it childish that I believe in these kinds of things?"

"Believe what you want Hiccup," he ruffled his son's head, giving a smile. "Doing that makes you more special."

Hiccup couldn't help but smile at that, not expecting to hear that from his father. It just made him glad that his...uniqueness was finally being recognized, but also being accepted. This was something he wanted for so long and he finally has it.

Stoick finished gathering all the necessary papers together before turning to his son, "Now Hiccup, I have a meeting at the Great Hall tonight, it's a long one so I won't be home till late."

The teen nodded at that, "I understand." Nowadays Hiccup didn't mind as much that his father was going to long meetings, at least when being informed of them unlike the awkward ways it used to be brought up in the past. "Alright, I'll see you in the morning."

"Stay out of trouble," with that the chief headed for the door, both boy and dragon watching as the larger male walked out.

The door opened yet Toothless' head perked up as he looked outside and saw the just about dark sky. Once the door was closed the Night Fury then started to nudge his rider, warbling. "Come on, time to go on our night flight!"

"Whoa! Whoa, down Toothless," Hiccup responded as the force of the nudges nearly pushed the teen back, placing a hand on the dragon's head. It took a moment, after trying to stay standing, before he realized why his dragon was so excited and couldn't help but smile. "Ok, ok, lets go, we can finish up when we get back." Hiccup pushed his dragon down before dropping his book down by the chair he once occupied, before heading for the door, human and dragon exiting the house as well.

Hiccup couldn't help but close his eyes and smile as he and Toothless soared through the dark sky, the Night Fury flying in the air as the two of them enjoyed their nightly ritual. Toothless always loved going for a nightly flight around the island, and Hiccup enjoyed the action as well. Just being in the sky in the dark, looking down at Berk and seeing the small lights that lit up the village. Plus, the fact of Toothless' black scales and they were practically invisible unless flying in front of the moon. It allowed them to have the privacy they wanted as they knew there wouldn't be prying eyes.

The teen looked down at his dragon as the wings were and tail fin were spread open as they just easily glided in the air, feeling the wind hitting his face. Enjoying the action for a few second he gave a satisfied smile before petting his dragon's head, "Ok, boy, one more lap and we head home."

"Alright, even though I'm having fun," The Night Fury gave in, despite wanting to go for a few more laps. He loves flying, but also loves having his rider with him, as it just added a new level of thrill to it. Still, he would listen to the human, mainly as he didn't want to disappoint or anger him in any way. Besides, they could always fly more tomorrow.

Hiccup then moved the stirrup on the flight gear, closing the tailfin and allowing them to dive down towards the water, nosediving down towards the water. They were nearly about to hit the water until the teen opened the fin again, allowing them to glide just above the sea, both of them smiling as they could feel the mist spraying over them as they circled around the island. "Man, this is great...the water is so calm at night."

"And it feels good," Toothless said, not minding the mist as it helped moisten his dry scales. He maneuvered his wings as they were approaching one of the beaches.

"You know Toothless...maybe tomorrow we can do what we did earlier and-" Hiccup stopped his train of words as he looked at the shore of the beach and spotted something. It was dark but thankfully the moon light illuminated it just enough to be noticeable. "Whoa, whoa, what is that?"

"I see it," The Night Fury's eyes twitch as his eyes could see some kind of mass on the beach.

"Take us down, let's get a better look," Hiccup instructed, getting a warble in return as the dragon changed his course and headed for the beach. In no time his paws landed, the sand cushioning the impact as they both stood some yards away from the object. Hiccup dismounted and reached into the saddlebag, pulling out a lantern. Opening it he held it out, "A little help?"

"Of course," Toothless then breathed out a small puff of fire, igniting the lantern and allowing an illuminating glow to radiate a small radius.

"Thanks bud," Hiccup responded as he started to walk along the beach, more and more of the area being revealed as he got closer to the thing he saw, with Toothless carefully approaching from behind. Both of the teen's eyes rose as the light finally is casted on the object, making him stop in his tracks. "Is that...some kind of...wooden box?"

Toothless inched closer, tilting his head as he saw it as well, but as he came within two yards of the box, he stopped moving.

"Was something inside of it?" Hiccup responded as he looked at the other side and could see a flat piece of wood, which is shaped perfectly to act as a lid. Yet, the problem is that it looked like it was pried off and is resting slantways on the box. Making the teen wonder if someone had found this before he did. Curiosity and confusion swelled up with as he got a closer look at the inside-

"Hiiiiiissssssss!" Hiccup jumped as he heard that sound, turning around and was surprised at what he saw.

"T-Toothless!?" His dragon is backing up, in a predatory stance with both eyes turned into slits. Something the dragon only did when he sensed danger. "W-What's wrong bud?"

The Night Fury didn't answer, except he kept backing up as a cold child overcame his body. Whatever that box is, or where it came from, it's making him really nervous….something that is completely rare for even for the Night Fury. It was almost like a situation where a predator is closing in on a wounded prey kind of nervous. He didn't even register his rider's words as his body automatically reacted as he turned and started to run off.

"Toothless!" Hiccup called in surprise as his dragon shot out of the beach like a bat out of hell, running up the hill that went back up to the forest. In mere seconds the Night Fury disappeared into the trees, leaving the teen alone on the beach. Hiccup was left there, stunned in disbelief. Toothless never did that before unless he counted the scuffle with the whispering death. Still, this shocked the teen as he wasn't sure what triggered this, "What in Thor's name is going on?"

He looked back at the box, which is still settled in the sand before looking back at the trees. He wasn't sure what could have made his dragon run off like that, yet he assumed it had to do with the box as it was the only logical explanation. This only made the curiosity within him grow, making him want to investigate the box further...but from past experiences when he ignored warning signs things ended up turning south for the worse. Plus, couple the fact that it's dark and the only source of light he has is his lantern, and that didn't reveal that much. Maybe he should follow his dragon's lead and come back another time...when he isn't alone.

"I'll...leave curiosity alone for now…" Hiccup said to himself as he started to walk back, slowly putting distance between himself and the box before turning around and running for the forest, leaving nothing but sand tracks.

"Toothless!" Hiccup called out as he walked through the dark forest, as he hoped his dragon is around. Nothing but black could be seen as the lantern could only light up a small distance before him. Not good considering wandering around the forest at night isn't a preference. Part of him was glad to have a source of light and mentally patted him on the shoulder for remembering to pack it. Right now, he's heading back to Berk, as he was right at Raven's point, but he called out Toothless' name, hoping he is nearby. Sadly, that wasn't the case as the dragon didn't come nor could be seen...one downside of having a dragon with black scales as he could easily blend in with the darkness. "Where are you?"

One foot, and his metal leg kept walking on the grass, small thumps being made as he took things slow, so he can avoid the trees, and any roots sticking out of the ground. He's really hoping that Toothless went back home, as he didn't want to leave his dragon out anywhere, but his outdoor and tracking skills weren't as good, so he would be...well useless trying to find him. He just shuddered at that word, not liking how it used to be his nickname, and is glad it's no longer used anymore. As much as he didn't want to, he couldn't afford to stay out and look for his dragon, and he hoped Toothless would forgive him for not searching further.

Besides, the dragon can take care of himself.

He stopped once he came to a ledge, looking down and shining the lantern only to find a drop of at least five feet, which wasn't that deep, but still quite a drop to him. "Ok...here we go," Hiccup told himself as he took a few deep breaths before hopping over the ledge, falling down till his feet hit the ground. "Ack!" he grunted as his stump throbbed as the metal pressed into the flesh. Grunted as tried to sooth the aching stump the best he could, easing it up some before continuing on, limping slightly but slowly the pain left him.

"At least dad won't be home, I can at least not worry about him questioning me an-"

*Snap!*

"Toothless?" Hiccup suddenly responded upon hearing what sounded like a twig snapping. Looking to the side, he held the light out, hoping to reveal anything nearby, but couldn't see nor hear anything. Giving it a few more seconds Hiccup raised an eye as he slowly resumed his trek, moving forward as he kept looking around the dark area, trying to push the sound out of his mind.

He suddenly stopped as his ears picked up on something. He is barely able to catch it but something is in the air. Whatever it is, it sounded like...whispers? Turning around he held the light out, trying to reveal the source of it, but nothing is there except trees. The whispering, if you could call it that, kept going, the grip on the lantern tightening as it suddenly got just a bit louder. As the teen kept listening, he moved the lantern in all directions, trying to find the source but failing at it. An uncontrollable chill then shot down Hiccup's spine, making his body shake out of instinct.

"Who's there!?" Hiccup called out, assuming someone must be out here with him. His voice echoed some, but the whispering returned as soon as his voice quieted down. Once more, he tried to find the source of the sound but for some reason it was like it was coming from all directions and starting to get louder by the second. Hiccup tried putting on a brave face, but a bit of fear started to take him. "Come out now!"

His voice echoed out once more, but no one did as he was told. A few seconds passed before Hiccup slowly started to move backwards, eyes scanning the dark area, as he decided to just get out of there. He had enough of and decided not to tempt fate of what could be out there.

"You can't escape…"

Hiccup froze as those words came out of nowhere, as a huge chill shot through his body once more, freezing it to the core. He stood there, unmoving, as both eyes creeped up as those words ran through his mind again. That voice...didn't sound normal, nor human...It almost sounded like...a raspy tone mixed with hissing, something he never heard before. His heart started to beat faster, and his hand trembled as the realization that he wasn't alone finally registered in his mind.

"R-Run...Run…." Hiccup said to himself as he tried to make his body move, but his legs wouldn't respond.

"You're mine…"

Those words spoke up, finally allowing the teen to move as he did a one-eighty and shot off into the trees, running as fast as his small legs could take him. The teen could hear his heavy breathing as he rushed at a breakneck speed, trying to get away from whatever it is he heard. The lantern jangled in his hand as he tried his best to not allow it to hit him, the last thing he needed was to trip and fall down.

"Gyah!" Hiccup cried out as his metal leg suddenly stopped moving, causing the teen to trip forward and down to the ground, hitting the hard surface and knocking all the air out of him. Perfect, he did exactly what he didn't want to do! "Uuuughhh…."

Both of Hiccup's hands clutched at his stomach, trying to take a deep breath as he couldn't breathe. Moving to his side, he curled up some for a few seconds until a loud gasp came out of him as his airwaves were cleared up. He took a few seconds to get his lungs filled up before he searched for his lantern, blowing a sigh of relief as it's not broken or extinguished. He grabbed at it and shined it at his prosthetic, only to find…nothing there at all…nor anything that could have caused the trip. Not a root, hole, or even dip in the dirt. Odd, as it felt like something grabbed at his metal leg and stopped him. His increased breathing resumed once more as he got up, crying out as pain flared up in his stump. Taking deep, long, breaths he tried to endure and not allow it to interfere. He turned around and prepared to take off for another sprint-

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Hiccup shouted out in fright as he came face to face with...with...something!

The teen fell back on his rear from the shock, the lantern still in hand as he held it up but groveled back. Both eyes widened as a new figure was now exposed into the light. It wasn't a Viking...it...it wasn't even human!

A violent tremble shot through Hiccup as he saw some strange humanoid...standing at least six feet tall...clad in some kind of raggedy cloak...but the most disturbing thing...is its face! The skin...it didn't even have skin! Whatever it was looked like, the face is a pale grey, hard surface...almost like a skull. Long, white, hair covered its head and came down to its shoulder as a matching beard hung down to its chest. No lips whatsoever as its rotten teeth were exposed to the air. The most disturbing thing is its eyes...there was no iris or pupils at all, just nothing but white...almost like eggs, but...bone chilling. Despite the lack of pupils the teen knew those eyes were trained right on him Freezing him stiff.

"You...are...perfect…" it's mouth moved, the same raspy and hissing voice came out of its throat, making the teen flitch. His heart nearly popped out of his chest as one of its arms raised up, the sleeve of the cloak sliding down, revealing.

Nothing but bone!

A skeleton arm could be seen, no skin at all, as those boney fingers were revealed as well, pointing right at him! If Hiccup wasn't panicking before he is now, as he is seeing something he has never seen before. He wanted to say this was a dream, but it wasn't as it felt too real, nor did he want to find out if it was one. His body jumped as he saw it take a step forward, inching closer towards him.

It was then Hiccup finally found his strength as he quickly got up and darted out in a random direction opposite of...of...whatever this is!

"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup called out in a huge panic as he kept his eyes forward, not wanting to look back at all. His heart beating like nothing he ever felt before as that image of that...thing was burned into his mind. The voice that accompanied that is frightening. What the hell is that, where did it come from, and why is it tormenting him!?

"GYAH!" Hiccup cried out as he felt a grip on the back of his vest, stopping him clean in his tracks as he was lifted off his feet and went flying through the air. "AHHHHHHH!" he cried out as he soared through the air, unable to see anything as it felt like he was flying forever...until he hit the ground, hard. The lantern jerked out of his hand as he rolled painfully on the dirt, slowly coming to a stop on his back. A painful groan left his mouth as he laid there, trying to endure the pain enough to try and get up. Thankfully, adrenaline is coursing through him, allowing the pain to be blocked out for the time being. His eyes were closed for the whole time but when he opened it, nothing but darkness came. Shakingly, he sat up, and looked around, but to his horror couldn't find any kind of light. No glow, or anything at all!

It was then he realized that the lantern must have shattered!

This was bad as his only source of light was gone, and he is nearly blind in this forest. The moon did provide some light but unfortunately he's in a part of Raven's point where a bunch of trees are clustered together, the branches blocking out most of the light. His breathing increased, turning deep as this fact cemented itself in his mind as he got up on his feet, on shaky legs, looking and listening around.

"Hahahahahahaha…."

Hiccup stiffened as that thing laughed, almost amusingly. Could that...that...thing see him? It must know that he's blind as a bat now and is helpless. Well, considering how easily it seemed to be for that thing to throw him told a different story to the teen. Despite having boney arms, it managed to throw Hiccup far and hard...well despite having a lanky figure, it would be easy, but Hiccup wasn't believing in the latter.

Thinking of this, Hiccup actually feared for his life, as he's blind in the forest with a...creature of some type...although now that he had a moment to think about, that creatures seemed familiar somehow...but Hiccup is having trouble trying to put his finger on it...especially with what is going on. Slowly walking backwards Hiccup's back eventually hit a tree, making him unexpectedly jump. But he calmed down the second he realized what it was and moved behind it for cover.

"I can see you…"

The teen's breath hitched upon hearing that, the trembles going up as he instantly tried walking back once more. His mind is trying to race with ideas or anything to help him right now, but this is way out of the scope that he's used to and has no idea what to do. Hiccup desperately needed Toothless right now, as he just wanted to fly away from here. He went completely stiff as another thump is heard.

…from behind...very close behind.

His head shakingly started to turn, knowing exactly what that was, but his body reacted that way for some reason.

"ACK!" Hiccup jumped upon feeling those cold, and boney, hands grip onto his shoulders, squeezing him through the thick fabric of his tunic and vest. Instantly the teen tried to get free, thrashing about to wiggle out of his grip. He even tried running forward but went nowhere as the hold is too solid, as it was like he's caught in a vice. He's stuck, and finding himself at the mercy of this creature, his body just reacted, "HELP!"

"No one can help you...You're mine!" With that the skeleton-like humanoid opened his mouth open, its rancid breath went unnoticed throughout the panic as its head moved forward.

"GYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Hiccup's eyes squeezed shut and shouted out to Valhalla as he felt something piercing right into his neck as indescribable pain overtook his body. He couldn't help but scream at the top of his lungs as the creature bit into his neck, his decayed teeth still proving to be strong enough to break through the skin and sink down to draw blood. It continued to sink the rotten teeth further down, as more red could be seen, that only it could see.

Finally, after what seemed like forever the creature pulled its teeth free and released the teen. Once the grip is released a hand instantly shot up to nurse the oozing wound as Hiccup began to cough violently. Knees instantly feeling weak as he took a couple of unstable steps as the world was starting to go much darker all around him. The teen urgently tried to stay conscious, but the pain and sudden fatigue instantly took over.

"I'm...going to die...I'm going...t-to...d-die…" Hiccup thought to himself as he both knees buckled, his free hand shooting out to keep him up.

The creature just looked at the human, smirking as it turned around and slowly walked off. "Soon...very soon…"

The pain in Hiccup's neck just continued to increase as his mind is spinning at a fast rate, faster than what Toothless does in the air, as his body trembled. It was suddenly hard for him to breathe as he tried to take deep breaths but was nearly finding it impossible. Finally, the eyes rolled into the back of his head as his lone hand supporting him gave out, as he fell forward into the dirt, his, now bloody, hand leaving his neck, as he laid motionless onto the ground.

Everything went dark

A/N: Hope you like. Now were you expecting something like that? Toothless running off, leaving Hiccup alone in the forest with something he didn't know of? Well I have reasons for what happened, but can't say as it will be spoilers. Now some of you may have guessed what the creature is, well i'm going to say i'm modifying the lore some as this is how I envisioned the story. I hope it turns out well and you all like what's going to happen. I look forward to your feedback as it helps. Till next time.
