Notes:

I want to thank everyone for the nice comments I received! I also wanted to answer a few that piqued my interest.

Ed: Yes, Shouta can use ninjutsu, what his nature is I won't say. ;)

Projecticeman: Shouta's eyes aren't really a Sharingan, but a derivative of one. So while I'm not saying anything concrete, it is possible for him to evolve.

Dragon and Sword Master: Thank you! As for Shouta, that was actually a last-minute addition to the plot outline, but I loveeeee Shouta, and really wanted some dadzawa in this story, along with his red eyes making a ton of sense to me anyway. As for what Sasuke says... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Guest: Yours is an interesting comment and I don't mean to be rude, but the beginning of a story often has many info dumps. Percy Jackson, and harry potter, are amazing examples of this and they work very well. Combined with the fact that Izuku has an analyst's mind (Even in canon), and how I personally think IRL, I don't really have a problem with this. If you have a problem with this, you can choose not to read the story, I am a person who likes more heavy info, and inner dialogue, related writing. If this isn't your cup of tea, that's fine too. Just make sure to comment on an actual profile next time, or offer some actual criticism.

With that out of the way, I hope you all enjoy this chapter, even if it isn't quite my favorite. ;p

Chapter 3 - Two Steps Forward

Izuku was positively bouncing with excitement, 'another family member!' He thought with as much joy as his tiny seven-year-old heart could muster. He didn't know the reason behind his clan's descent into such small numbers, not even his mother knew according to her own account, but he didn't think he'd ever meet another.

It had only been mere minutes since his mother had made the call, and Izuku already felt like it had been hours! Such is the length of patience for a child.

His mother had left them waiting in the sitting room, saying that she had, "Some things to do." Whatever that meant, Izuku couldn't find himself focusing on it for long, partly because of Erase- er, Shouta showing up, but also due to his own messing around with the Sharingan.

Like any child with a new toy, he couldn't resist testing and trying it out. It felt amazing to use, things slowed to a crawl and he could see things. He could see through his own clothes, the muscle underneath his skin, and the blue-ish purple energy flowing underneath, flowing like a strong flame, shifting whenever he moved his arm.

While using the Sharingan made him tired, it was nothing compared to when he turned it off.

It was like having it on kept the symptoms at bay, but turning it off after any amount of time drained him severely, so he kept away from doing it. Instead of keeping it on while he waited, getting used to it, and seeing how long he could go.

'It's a tradeoff, but if it only happens after I deactivate it, then I should be fine in fights.' He frowned at the idea of drawbacks, but like the child analyst he was, he knew everything had a weakness. Just because he didn't have a quirk didn't make it any less true.

He looked at Suna with the Sharingan, his eyes blew wide, the amount of energy coursing through her was amazing, for someone who didn't have a Sharingan.

'Or maybe the Sharingan doesn't provide more chakra? I should ask mom about that.'

His mother had only told him small things about the Sharingan, one of them being that since he awakened it at a fairly young age, his body would have an easier time adjusting to the natural 'boosts' it granted him passively. Such as higher speed, strength, and cognitive ability. But that he may be using too much strength or running into things while he got used to it.

"This shouldn't be too hard." He smiled while looking down at his hands.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that one kid."

Izukua and Suna startled, looking straight upwards towards the voice, only to see a man with shaggy black hair hanging from the ceiling above them.

'By his feet?!' The twins screamed internally. It was an odd sight, to see the strange man standing on the ceiling with presumably nothing to hold him there.

"Never say anything is too easy, cause next thing you know, it won't be." The man dropped to the floor, landing on his feet with nary a sound.

The two young Uchiha sat their gobsmacked, making the man's eyebrow twitch with amusement. Izuku's Sharingan was still on, and he could see the man's chakra.

It was strong, small, but not as if he lacked reserves, no, it was like he had sharpened it. Making it an extremely refined tool.

My name is Shouta Aizawa-Uchiha," he reached forward and ruffled both of the children's hair, "and from now on, I'll be making your life a living hell!" A devilish smile crossed the older Uchiha's face, as he grabbed the two children attempting to run from him.

'This is going to be fun.'

It had been three years since Shouta had promised to make their life hell.

And god, they wished he was lying.

Shouta- yes, he called him Shouta, he loved his cousin very much, had basically moved into the compound. He helped with maintaining it as well, even at Kagami's refusal. The only time she left would be for a week or two at a time, either on an assignment, he couldn't tell them about, or to visit his 'girlfriend'. When Kagami had asked why she hadn't met her yet, Shouta had just said, "She would never stop visiting."

But even Izuku could see the amount of love in his eyes when he spoke of her. He assumed she was another hero, as heroes rarely dated civilians. Izuku, smart as he was, could never glean any information from the man, only ever earning a chuckle and a ruffle of his hair.

Every morning after Shouta moved in, he always fell into some sort of trick. The first morning it was a simple rope that he stepped on, dragging him by the ankle, to an upside-down position.

"Situational Awareness training." That was what Aizawa said as he dangled from the rope, trying but failing to get his ankle free. Aizawa cut him down shortly after, and every day since then, from sundown to sunset, he was training, whether they were in the dojo or not.

He hadn't talked to Sasuke since the last time, only had dreams of things he did not understand.

Lightning and Pure Energy swirling around each other, the sound of metal being scratched. A hand outstretched and failing to grasp what it reached for. Only for it all to end with rain.

Izuku would always wake from these dreams with a sadness that was not his own. A sense of loss, and something else. Something that didn't belong there. But he could never ask who he suspected the dreams belonged to.

His days at school were mostly the same, he Never used the Sharingan or any of his enhanced abilities. He learned to ignore the jeers thrown at him by the other kids. Bakugou however, was a bit more difficult. He never quite gave up on his harsh attitude towards Izuku, but a few weeks after Izuku got his Sharingan, Bakugou could tell something was different with him and left him mostly alone.

His days consisted of this, getting up and avoiding whatever Shouta had set up (failing spectacularly.), school, training, and then the part he currently hated the most.

Over the three years, he had yet to do more than the most basic things with chakra, besides activating his Sharingan. He could wall and water walk, but he could achieve 'nature transformation' as his mother called it. They couldn't even find out his element, there was no particular reason as to why either, just that he felt like a wall was put up every time he tried.

But today was different, he could feel it in his core, like a sense before a large storm. He felt like his very spirit was vibrating in excitement, or something akin to it. He smiled as he jumped out of bed, tripping on his blanket as he did so. Jumping up, blushing with embarrassment, he grabbed his favorite jacket off its hook, threw on his clothes for the day.

Making his way out of his room, pulling the door open very slowly, he narrowly dodged a flying kunai going past his head and into his room. After he gathered himself, he looked forward to seeing Shouta had rigged another string to his door that pulled a kunai at high speeds.

'That would have been easy with my Sharingan.'

After his Sharingan had evolved a bit, from just one tomoe in each eye to two in his left and one in his right, Shouta had told him he was no longer allowed to activate it inside the house. He could still use it to train, and still defend himself if needed, but not for situational training. It made sense, but it was a pain to deal with regardless.

With another sigh, and going back to yank the kunai out of his wall, which was littered with holes, he made his way into the kitchen.

His mother was nowhere to be seen, but he saw Suna sitting at the table, writing something down. While Shouta casually drank coffee and checked his phone. Izuku smiled devilishly and chucked the kunai at him without a sound.

His smile was short-lived as Shouta caught, and threw back the kunai. He yelped and ducked, a few strands of hair falling from the top of his head.

"Nice try kid, but next time, wait until I'm done with my coffee. Or so help me you'll lose more than some hair. Capisce?" Aizawa settled a deadpan look his way.

"Y-yup!" He may have loved Shouta, but he was still scary.

He turned away from the man, and made his way to the countertop, pouring himself his own cup of coffee. Black, as he would admit that Shouta had gotten him addicted to, it helped when he couldn't sleep after one of his dreams. His mother had resigned herself to his new addiction and asked that Shouta not kill him.

Shouta finished his coffee and stood up, "Izuku, meet me in the hall in ten, I have something new I want you to try." Without another word, he walked out.

"Man, he's in a good mood today," Izuku hummed, quickly making himself a breakfast of eggs and toast with jam, "He didn't even need a second cup of coffee."

Suna stopped writing, the skritch of her pencil becoming silent, "I heard him and mom talking last night from my room. I think Shouta is gonna try something new with your elemental training."

He looked at her with surprise, "You heard them, in the living room, from your room?"

Suna only shrugged and returned to writing.

"Ah, right, right, Chakra enhanced senses, my bad." His sister was more or less a genius when it came to applying chakra, whereas Izuku was a genius when it came to practical lessons. Suna may not have had a Sharingan or Izuku analytical mind. But she made up for that with sheer talent in application.

Izuku quickly finished his breakfast without another word, quickly cleaning his plate and rushing to the hall, which was all the way across the compound.

The Hall was a large rectangular room meant for training, but it was no normal dojo, and it was Shouta's favorite for a reason. It had traps hidden throughout the floor, racks on weapons on the walls, and Shouta had apparently trained here much as a child, so he knew all of the tricks here.

He had to admit, it made for amazing practice, different terrain and sudden traps made for good awareness training. Izuku didn't have much of a style when it came to fighting, but as of now, he focused on speed and reflexes. Something the Sharingan had no problem giving him, he was small and he might as well use that to his advantage.

The Sharingan was amazing, he still grimaced thinking of the first time he sparred with Shouta, even though Shouta was much older than him, he assumed the Sharingan would let him win easily.

He was very much mistaken.

(Izuku rushed at Aizawa, as fast as his small seven-year-old body could carry him. Which, admittedly, with the sharing passive boosts, was quite fast. He thought the Sharingan would easily give him the win without much effort.

He was wrong.

Shouta said nothing as he stepped backward and avoided his sloppy punch, jumped over him as Izuku tried to kick his knees. Landing on the other side and wrapping him in his capture scarf.

"Do you understand why you lost, Izuku?"

He thought about it for a moment, "Because I'm not strong enough?"

Aizawa eyed him, and dropped him from his scarf with a sigh, "That's technically correct, yes, but that's not why you lost."

He got on one knee, eye level with Izuku, "Izuku, our clan was once great, but do you want to know part of the reason we disappeared from history?"

Izuku nodded, listening with rapt attention.

"It was because of what you just did Izuku, the Sharingan is a tool for you to use. Not a crutch, it doesn't make you mightier than anyone else. You're still human, and you won't always be able to rely on it. The Uchiha clan were not humble, they thought themselves better due to their natural gifts. Do you know what the founder called those eyes in his journal?"

"The Eyes of Heaven, he believed them to be a gift from the gods themselves. Hubris, Izuku, hubris is everyone's greatest weakness."

Izuku was silent, and he knew Aizawa was right. In the back of his head at least, he had been thinking the Sharingan was amazing, and it was. But it wasn't going to solve all of his problems, he needed to do that by himself.

"Alright, thank you, Aizawa. I'll do my best to remember that." Izuku showed a shaky smile to his older cousin, looking ready to take on the world.

Aizawa smiled too, a much more Cheshire smile than Izuku's, "Good, I'll make sure to pound this into that head of yours," He stood up, pulling Izuku with him, "And kid? Call me Shouta."

He offered Izuku a fist bump, Izuku returned the gesture, and they knew they were going to get along just fine.)

That was years ago, and the twins, Shouta, and Kagami had only grown closer since, Shouta acting as more of an older brother figure than a cousin, and the twins always ready to learn. Kagami always made sure they never took it too far and helped Izuku make their patented 'family dinners'.

Izuku didn't have much more time to think as he entered the hall, expecting a kunai to come fly at him, but nothing happened. He looked around and saw Shouta in the center of the room. He looked like he was meditating, but he cracked open an eye when Izuku entered.

"Hey, Izuku, get over here." He cracked his neck and rubbed the excess sleep from his eyes, Shouta being a chronic insomniac.

"Today, we're going to finally get you to activate your element. We're not waiting any longer." Aizawa said, just looking at him as he sat down.

Izuku nodded, rather eager to do so himself, Shouta had always described it as the next step in chakra training, and while Shouta would never have a Sharingan, he did have chakra. He had never used it around him, but he had used wall walking and water walking.

"And how are we going to do that, Shouta? Everything else we've tried never worked, I'm starting to feel a little discouraged if we're feeling honest." Izuku spoke sheepishly, scratching his cheek as he smiled nervously.

Shouta took a deep breath, looking like he was expecting an incoming migraine, "Izuku, I think it's time we talk about Sasuke Uchiha."

"What-"

"Izuku," Shouta cut him off with a glare, "There are many things you don't know, things your mother doesn't think you should know yet. I, however, think that not knowing is what's keeping you stuck at this stage in your training."

Izuku couldn't speak, he was too busy internally panicking, information was something he'd been begging for for years, and now Shouta was finally telling him something. He would actually hear more about himself, his clan, than just the Sharingan.

"According to your mother, your chakra pathways don't flow correctly, and- she could be wrong about this, but… it seems like you have some seals on your chakra pathways. They're stopping you from doing certain things with your chakra."

"Wait, wait, wait- Seals?! I heard you talk about those once, and there are some books in the library but… when were they put on me?"

Shouta only shook his head, "We're not sure, however, Kagami and I believe there's only one person who could have done it." He looked at him, expectancy in his eyes.

"You think… Sasuke?" Izuku spoke barely above a whisper, clear disbelief in his voice.

Shouta nodded, "There's a lot going on that you don't know, Izuku, things we can't tell you until the right time. But… there are things that he can tell you, and possibly why he put those seals on you."

"So…?" Izuku really wasn't sure where he was going with this.

"So, I'm going to put this on you, "Shouta pulled out a tag, with a language he couldn't read on it, "and you're going to meditate, and get Sasuke to talk to you."

"I- I don't have a choice in this do I?" Izuku sighed.

"Nope," Shouta smirked, and put the tag on his forehead, almost immediately making Izuku feel… not drowsy, but… distant, or something along those lines.

"Good luck…" Shouta's voice quickly faded out as he fell into the mindscape.

Izuku woke in the same room as he first had three years ago, nothing had really changed, he was, however, wearing the clothes he had been wearing for the first time. Black pants and a mesh undershirt, an open black jacket with an orange outline that felt quite light. Along with some open-toed… sandals? Boots? It didn't really matter, they were comfortable regardless.

"Well, Izuku Uchiha, It seems I have some stories to tell."

Izuku whipped around, coming face to face with the tall teen, the spinning red eyes, and the off-purple eye staring him in the face.

"It's time I tell you what you really are."

Authors Notes:

So, this chapter is a bit shorter than I wanted it to be, I wanted it to be longer but I felt this was a much better place to cut it off. ;)

I do think this may be the weakest chapter by far because if I'm being honest I want to get to the year or so before U.A. where I can start establishing world-building outside of the Uchiha without it feeling out of place. The next chapter should have one more time skip in it, and then we'll be meeting some more people and seeing what Izuku can do.

Izuku has taken to basic chakra exercises like a fish to water, but he still can't access Nature transformation, interesting no?

For anyone who says Izuku is learning chakra too fast, I will point you to Kakashi, Itachi, and by some extension, Sasuke. Reminding you that Kakashi became a chunin at 6, and Itachi was not too far off either. So really, at ten years old, Izuku is par the course for what Sasuke was at the beginning of Naruto.

I do want to ask some questions here, however, and I would greatly appreciate the feedback. :p

I already have up to the Overhaul fight planned out for this story, and most of Izuku's abilities and fights, however, I am stuck on what to do with his Mangekyo. On one hand, I wanted to give him new abilities for each eye (Like a normal mangekyo,) but, I also wanted to use some of the other abilities we see in canon. (Not including Izanami and Izanagi, because... no.)

So I have a few choices here, Give him access to other mangekyo abilities from canon, which I'll explain how it works in a second, give him a new ability, or some combination of both.

As for how using other abilities would work, I had a thought where he could change out the ability he uses every couple of hours. ex, Kamui (Obito or Kakashi ver.), Amaterasu, kotoamatsukami, tsukyomi, kagetsuchi, limbo. (we don't really know Madara's Sharingan ability, so to keep it simple, I'll just say it's limbo.) Or maybe some other way, the only thing about this is could make Izuku way too strong, but I have ways of balancing it out fairly easily. Plus, this is an op Izuku fic. The only ability here I actually need in my story is Kotoamatsukami, not really something I can give up.

With giving Izuku his own new ability, I have a few ideas, but I'm also open to suggestions as well!

Anyway, feel free to comment, I'm all ears for any ideas here.

Thanks for reading!
