After meeting with Yang, Ruby and Tai, Jaune and Summer are heading to Domrémy to meet with Jaune's parents. Jaune didn't want to prolong the meeting any longer. After all, the last time he saw them was seven years ago when he was seven. And Jaune also knew that not meeting them as soon as he could, could backfire on him as Saphron informed him that they were still looking for him.
As Jaune and Summer arrived in Domrémy, they didn't waste any time and headed straight for the Arc Manor. When they got there, Summer saw that the house was huge. Not Schnee family huge, but huge, nonetheless. After all, the manor would need to accommodate a big family such as the Arc family that consists of nine members, albeit, Saphron, Jeanne and Jaune no longer live there.
"Wow! I didn't think that your family would own such a huge house. I mean, I know that your family is big and would require a house that can accommodate all of you, but that's just huge," Summer said after she saw the Arc Manor.
"Well, my dad is quite the Huntsman. He may not be a popular Huntsman like you were before your death, but he is called upon a lot since he gets the job done quickly and smoothly. Till the day I disappeared, dad hasn't once been on a mission with death on it. I don't know if that still holds, though," Jaune said.
"Huh? If he was that amazing, then why isn't he well known?" Summer asked.
"That's because dad doesn't accept a lot of work near the kingdoms. He said to me once that the kingdoms have enough Huntsman to protect them, but the people within small villages don't. That's why he would work for small villages and won't charge a lot, but when working for the kingdom, he charges a lot more since they have more money, especially if the mission is coming from the Council," Jaune said.
"Huh? That's quite smart. I mean, the Council of Vale or the other kingdom's Council will pay a lot, especially if they caused the problem," Summer said.
"Anyway. Are you ready to meet my parents?" Jaune asked.
"I am, but I'm a little nervous. I don't know if your family will like me or not. After all, I'm nine years older than you. Twenty-one if you add the years that I was dead," Summer said.
"Relax, I don't think they'll hate you. But my mom might get angry and make us have a wedding ceremony since we didn't have one," Jaune said.
"If that's the case, I wouldn't mind a wedding ceremony. I mean, I've dreamed of having a wedding since I was a little girl. Finding a wonderful man, getting together, getting married, then having a loving family with him," Summer said.
"If that was the case, then why'd you tell me that you didn't want to have a wedding when we were on Earth?" Jaune asked.
"Because when we were on Earth, I didn't want to have a wedding because I wanted it to be here on Remnant with my daughters. I mean, back on Earth, we had friends, but none of them was close to us besides the Ancient One," Summer replied.
"Well, I felt the same way. I always wanted to have a wedding with all my family and friends there. If you're okay with having a wedding now, then I don't mind it as well. I would love to have a wedding ceremony with you," Jaune said.
"Hah?! Jaune Arc. Are you proposing to me?" Summer said jokingly.
"That I am," Jaune said.
"I'll have you know that I'm already a married woman. A happily married woman," Summer said.
"Is that so…Then I'll just have to show that I am better than your current husband," Jaune said.
"He-he-he. There will be no one better than my husband," Summer said with a wink.
Jaune and Summer then laugh at each other. These kinds of antics are pretty common between this couple. After laughing, Jaune and Summer rang the bell for the Arc Manor. At this moment, Jaune sudden felt butterflies on his stomach, but he held it in as he was just as excited to meet them as he was nervous.
A moment later, Jaune and Summer heard the door opening. The person who opened the door was quite a short girl, but Jaune immediately recognised the young girl. It was Jaune's youngest sister, Olive. She was only six years old when he disappeared. One thing that Jaune was surprised by was that Olive was able to recognise him.
"Jaune! I missed you! The others kept telling me that you were already gone and went to a better place, but I didn't believe them. I told them that you will come back in the future and that you just wanted to be alone because you wanted to work on your dream to become a Huntsman," Olive said. She's always been a brilliant young girl, and Jaune knew this because there were times she would outsmart him whenever she wanted something from him.
"I missed you too, Olive. How has everyone been?" Jaune said.
"Everyone is doing well. But when you disappeared, it took a year before everyone was able to get over your disappearance. Ivory would lock herself in her room. Viridian would always go to places where you and she would play and paint things you used to do together. There was a time Beryl, Cyan and Jade stopped doing what they loved. Jeanne. Jeanne did something no one thought she would do. She applied to Beacon. As for Saphron, dad and mom, they never stopped believing that you were still alive, same as me. I would tell them that you would come home someday," Olive said.
"Thanks for believing in me, Olive," Jaune said.
"I always will, just like how you always believed that I would be able to achieve my dream of being the best Botanist. Now, are you going to keep standing there? Or are you going to come inside and meet with the others?" Olive said.
"Since when did you get this cheeky?" Jaune asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Olive just feigned ignorance.
"By the way, who's the that beside you?" Olive asked.
"Her name is Summer. She happens to be my wife," Jaune said.
"Oh! You're so dead. Mom's going to kill you," Olive said.
"You know I was already nervous for mom to meet Summer. Now I'm worried for Summer to meet mom," Jaune said.
"Relax, Jaune. Mom would probably not hurt Summer in any way," Olive said in a joking manner. She then brought Jaune and Summer to the lounge to relax while she gets the rest of the household.
"You have a lovely sister," Summer said.
"She is, isn't she? Though, I would prefer it if she was less cheeky. But I guess we can't all have everything," Jaune said.
Jaune and Summer were having a great time having a conversation in the lounge until they heard the Arc family heading in their direction. Jaune could hear his sister tell Olive that he couldn't be here.
Meanwhile, his mom and dad were panicking about Olive letting someone in the house. But when they arrived in the lounge, all their jaws dropped to the ground. They saw Jaune, healthy and alive. They all thought that they were hallucinating, but after a few minutes, they finally accepted that the Jaune they are seeing is real.
"Jaune!" Amarilla shouted.
"Hey, Mom," Jaune said.
Amarilla then ran towards Jaune and hugged him. She has missed her baby boy. Even if he were no longer a child, Jaune would always be her baby boy. Jaune returned his mom's hug. After all, he missed her just as much as she missed him.
"I knew you were alive! I always believed! I felt it in my bones," Amarilla said with tears in her eyes.
"Jaune. I'm sorry. It's my fault that you ran away that day. If only I agreed to train you, then you wouldn't run away," Giallo said.
"Don't say that, dad. If things did not play out as they did, I never would have met Summer, and I would not be who I am today," Jaune said. He did regret that he didn't get to spend his childhood with his family, but even if he had the chance to change everything, he would still choose to go to Earth. After all, he never would have met the love of his life if he never went to Earth.
"Summer? Are you talking about that young lady beside you?" Amarilla asked.
"Yeah. Her name is Summer Arc-Rose," Jaune said.
"Y-You're married?! I can't believe I missed my baby's wedding!" Amarilla said with tears in her eyes.
"Calm down, mom. We haven't had our wedding ceremony yet. Summer and I wanted to have a wedding with our friends and family. Hence, we may have gotten our married licence and certificate, but we haven't had our ceremony," Jaune said.
Jaune then looked at his sisters. They all have a guilty look on their face. Jaune knew why. That's why he decided to tell them that everything was good. After all, they didn't give up on him right away. They believed in Jaune's survival for as long as they can. They stayed strong for an entire year before they started to lose hope for him. That was good enough for Jaune.
"What are you all doing? Aren't you going to hug your brother?" Jaune said.
"I am sorry for not holding faith in your return, Jaune," Viridian said.
"I am too. It hurt when you disappeared. And when dad found out that your tracks were in the direction of a Grimm pack, we assumed that you were gone," Ivory said.
"We are sorry too," Jade and Cyan said at the same time.
"Hey. Come on. I'm not angry. And there is nothing to be sorry about, okay. You tried to hold on for as long as you could. So, wipe those tears and hug me," Jaune said while opening his arms to hug his sisters.
"Come on. I want to introduce you to my wife…." Jaune said while looking around for Summer.
"Uhm…Jaune? If you're looking for the red-haired woman that you came here with, then you won't find her. We saw mom bring her outside the house. I think that mom may have brought her out to plan for the Wedding Ceremony," Ivory said.
What Ivory said was right. Amarilla brought her to a wedding planner. But that was not all that Amarilla was planning, and she was also going to give her speech to Summer about not hurting Jaune or else. But mostly, she was just excited to plan a wedding again. Saphron's wedding planning was one of the best days of her life.
