Jaune was in a room with a magic circle set up. He's reading a book in his hand, trying to make sure that the spell he plans to use will not backfire on him. He was cautious because this was the first time that he was going to perform such magic. After all, this was the first time he had encountered an artificial soul. He knew who it was after watching the videos of the Vytal Festival. It was the Synthetic Human named Penny Polendina. When he watched the video, he was impressed that someone could make a robot that looked and talked like a human, but when he found the core, he was further impressed because someone was able to find a way to create an artificial soul.
After studying the core for a few days, he saw that it was unstable and without form. That means that the soul isn't its own. It is incomplete. That's why Jaune planned to use his Mystic Arts to stabilise the soul and make it independent from its origin. But that's easier said than done, one wrong incantation and everything goes to hell. Rather than making the soul complete, he could destroy it, and worst, he could turn it into a monster.
With caution, Jaune proceeded with his incantations. The more words and hand gestures he makes, the more intricate the magic circle becomes. When Jaune was halfway complete with his chant, the core of Penny started floating. The next moment, the core shattered into thousands of pieces, but they weren't necessary. The green glowing orb that came out of the core was what was required.
Three-quarter through the chant. Penny's green soul orb started forming into a humanoid form. While that was happening, Jaune was guiding the soul to look like Penny's synthetic body.
When Jaune completed the chant, the complete soul of Penny glowed as bright as the sun. Then suddenly, the soul started absorbing matter from the world to create a living body.
When completed, Jaune used his ability to conjure a dress for Penny as she was naked. Then he brought her into an empty room to let her rest as she would need it.
The following day, Penny woke up in an unfamiliar room. Looking around, she knew it wasn't the dorm of Beacon Academy. While in that train of thought, she remembered that she was destroyed during the Vytal Festival. Then she suddenly felt multiple sensations that she's never felt before. Her head started hurting, and her stomach was grumbling. She tried to move, but she couldn't. Her sensors aren't working, and the motors aren't responding. While trying to move, she accidentally rolled off the bed and fell hard.
Jaune was making breakfast in the kitchen, heard the loud thud coming from Penny's room. He stopped what he was doing and hurried to help Penny. When he got to her room, he saw Penny on the floor. Jaune helped Penny get off the floor, but she was scared as she couldn't move her body and didn't know who Jaune was.
"Please remain calm. I'm not going to hurt you. I'll explain everything that has happened," Jaune said. Penny tried to say something, but her vocal cords weren't responding. So, she mustered everything she could to nod her head.
Jaune explained what happened in the past few weeks, like how Ruby told him about her friend who was killed during Beacon's attack and that friend being Penny, and how he used his Mystic Arts to complete her incomplete soul. And finally, the reason that she's having difficulty with her body.
After Jaune's explanation, Penny started crying. For a long time, her dream was to become human, and now, it was fulfilled. She didn't know what to say to Jaune, and she couldn't anyway, so she hugged him, even if she struggled to do so.
"From here, I'll help you till you get used to your new body, but there are some situations that I won't be able to help you with. And that's where my wife comes in. She'll help you with things female related," Jaune said. When Jaune said those words, Summer came to the room, and it shocked Penny as she looked just like Ruby.
A few weeks later, Beacon was finally repaired, and classes were starting once more. Ozpin was giving his speech to all those who survived the attack and decided to continue with their path as a Huntsman or Huntress-in-training. A lot of the first-year left, and some on the other years. When every student is finally in their respective classes, the lessons are finally starting up. But before that, in Team RWBY and Team JNPR's class, Professor Port wanted to introduce a transfer student from Atlas.
"N-No way!" Yang shouted.
"But I thought she was gone?!" Weiss said.
The others had similar things to say, but Pyrrha felt guilty for what happened to Penny during the attack, but she saw Penny waving her hands towards her without anger. Instead, the redhead was smiling, and this made her feel more guilty.
Ruby, on the other hand, ran towards Penny and hugged her. She didn't care if Professor Port got angry and gives her detention.
"Penny! You're alive! H-How?!" Ruby said.
"It's thanks to your mother's husband. I guess he's your step-father," Penny said.
"Jaune? But how did he do it? I don't think he knows about creating…you know," Ruby said.
"Oh! Here, feel this…." Penny said. She then put Ruby's hand in her heart. Ruby was stunned. She felt a heartbeat! She then looked at Penny, who was smiling at her.
"Y-You're! Y-You're no longer…." Ruby couldn't complete her sentences as she was shocked.
"That's right! I'm finally human!" Penny said.
"How? I mean, congratulations on being human, but…How?!" Ruby said.
"Honestly? I don't know. Jaune explained things to me, but I couldn't follow most of the things he said. Something about Extra-Dimensional Energy and completing my soul. Other than that, I couldn't understand anything," Penny said.
"Does your father know? I mean, he was the one that created you as a Synthetic Human," Ruby said.
"He does! The moment I was able to walk on my own, Jaune helped me meet him. He was also the one who enrolled me to Beacon," Penny said. Ruby was about to ask something, but she was interrupted by Port.
"Okay! That's enough chitchat. You can continue your conversation later in private," Port said. Ruby and Penny then took a seat, with Penny sitting on Ruby's right side.
"Ahem! Penny Polendina, I welcome you to Beacon Academy. Ozpin told me that you would be a part of Team RWBY until further notice. Now, shall we begin the lesson? Have I told you the story about…?" Port said. He started his lesson, which consisted of stories of his youth.
For the next two hours, Port told his stories, but this time each student that had experienced a near-death during the attack was far more attentive. They finally realised how vital Port's lessons are. Each story consists of things one must do, and one must not. When Port saw that everyone was listening attentively, he had a smile behind his moustache.
