The girl walked through corridors of the mansion, she encountered multiple fairies wearing maid uniforms, however, at the sight of her, they all started running away.
They probably already knew that she was the intruder.
The huntress haven't seen these creatures in a while, though. She mostly encountered them in the forests, and that was just one or two.
Here? It was like their breeding ground. She wouldn't be surprised if there was around a hundred of them here.
Were they kept here as slaves of the vampire? Or were they here of their own free will?
Either way, the huntress didn't really care. She was here for the vampire, not them.
After quite a bit of walking, she finally reached a point of interest. A large double door, it almost looked like a gate to the castle.
It was obvious that this was an important place in this mansion, so she entered the room.
The girl looked around inside, looks like she stumbled into some kind of library.
The room was enormous, with bookshelves everywhere. At the front of the library, she noticed a table where a woman was sitting.
The huntress decided to approach her.
The woman had purple eyes and hair of the same color, and had many ribbons tied to her hair and other parts of her clothing. She was wearing a pink pajama-like clothing and a night-cap with a gold crescent moon on it.
She was quietly reading a book, she didn't seem that interested in her surroundings.
The girl decided to question her.
-I'm looking for your mistress. Where can I find her?
The woman closed her book and faced the huntress.
-So you're the intruder that defeated the gatekeeper? Impressive, however, I'm afraid that she was the only person that you defeat today.
She levitated in the air, holding the book in her hand.
-My name is Patchouli Knowledge, a youkai magician. You're a nuisance to both me and my mistress, so I will be the one to escort you to your grave as punishment.
She opened her book, and suddenly a fireball flied from it, aimed straight at the huntress.
The girl was caught off-guard, but she managed to quickly slow the time and dodge it at the last moment.
The fireball was launched at such speed, that no human would be able to dodge it.
This woman was no joke either, she most likely would have to rely on her power to defeat her.
-So you managed to dodge it? It seems that you're really something else, but this time trying dodging multiple of them!
The magician fired three fireballs, however, this time the huntress was ready and managed to evade them.
-Aren't you worried that you will burn your library down?
The woman chuckled.
-These books are protected by my magic. I'm afraid that the only thing that will be burned to the crisp will be you.
After these words, the magician fired even more fireballs at her.
The girl dodged them, then grabbed her knife and threw it directly at the woman.
However, the knife bounced off right before the magician, there was some kind of barrier around her. It was invisible, however when something hit it, it appeared for a split second.
-You thought that I will just let you hit me with your knives? My shield is impenetrable, there's nothing you can do.
The situation was looking grim for the huntress, she couldn't really find any weakness in the magician.
The only thing that she could do was dodge her attacks, but using her power was slowly taking a toll on her, if she wouldn't find something to take advantage of, then she will most likely die.
Perhaps, THERE is a way to penetrate her shield?
Then it hit her, she had something that could destroy her shield.
She dodged another salvo of the fireballs and slowed the time even further, so she could take out an item from her satchel.
The girl grabbed a glass flask from her satchel, it contained some kind of chemical inside.
She quickly threw it right at the magician.
The flask shattered on the impact, releasing the chemical on the barrier.
-I told you, there's nothing that can penetrate my shield, give up already.
However, after a second, the chemical burned away a hole in the barrier.
The magician was shocked.
-What?!
The girl took advantage of the magician dropping her guard and threw her silver knife right at the woman's chest through the hole of the barrier.
It hit her cleanly.
The magician was completely disorientated, her barrier dissipated, and she fell to the ground on her knees.
She started violently coughing and fell down on all-fours.
-Damn it... Why now of all times?
The girl wasn't sure what the woman was talking about, but she couldn't take any chances, she charged straight at her to finish her off.
The magician noticed that and with the last ounce of her strength she cast a spell.
The huntress suddenly disappeared, and the woman collapsed soon after.
