Notes:
Sup peeps!
I have been soooooooo damn busy. But finally, all my classes are dwindling down. Anywho I wrote soooo much, lol. I was gonna split it but fuck that, enjoy a long-ass chapter after the little hiatus I took (11 pages wtf). I was really bummed about not writing, but school made me so tired; I was just repeating the actions sleeping, doing homework, eating, reading over and over again. I literally didn't do anything else for two months.
I learned I have to go back to in-person classes in February so that's something. I will also have to start assistant teaching, which I'm hella nervous about. The fingerprint bullshit that I've been dealing with for a year is still not done yet. These motherfuckers just won't give me a concrete answer on when I will get notified if it is processed. They keep saying, just wait it'll happen one day. Like these assholes, I need to sign up for classes, I need an actual answer not "someday".
It's also my niece's first birthday on the 10th, so I'm going to see her. It's gonna be a 5-hour car trip. I'm gonna die. But extremely good news! My niece is gonna be a big sister soon. They are having another baby. I can't wait! I'm so excited.
Also, I just bought the most expensive bag in my life. I thought spending $80 for a book bag was stupid once, but I took the case today. I bought a green Coach book bag and let me tell you, my bank hurts from this. I did get a discount cause of black Friday but still. The original price was like $498 or something like that. But I had a discount that cut the price a lot. I think it totaled to like $200-something. It was a great discount. So even though I am regretting it a bit, I'm really happy because it's pretty af. I treated myself so it's all good, it's not like I spend this money every day.
Also, I think you guys will really like this chapter. I'm gonna change the title it was originally gonna be something about Gwen but I think it doesn't encompass the whole chapter enough.
Also, Samhain is the Pagan/Celtic word for the time of Halloween if y'all didn't know.
Hope you enjoy!

"How did you know my nickname, sir? I don't even have a name tag on. They didn't make mine yet; I'm too new of an employee, you know how it is." Gwen said.
"You're alive!" Merlin exclaimed, almost jumping over the counter touching her shoulder.
The lady, Gwen, just smiled and nodded her head, looking at Remus, wondering what was going on. But she found no answer as Remus looked just as confused.
"Uh, I'm confused," Gwen said, looking between Merlin and Remus, not understanding what was going on.
Merlin's face went through a myriad of emotions. It went from shocked to delighted, to confusion, to sadness, and finally settled at depression. It was such a drastic change, and it happened so fast that it made Remus feel uneasy.
"Myridian?" Remus asked.
Myridian's face slowly returned to his goofy facade, and he acted as if nothing had happened.
"Ah, sorry, you looked an awful lot like an old friend of mine. But I obviously have the wrong person. Uh, I'd like to buy these." Merlin finished awkwardly pointing at the stuff he dropped, which had fallen on the counter coincidentally.
Gwen tried to start the conversation again, but Merlin seemed to avoid it, just laughing awkwardly.
Remus was watching from the sidelines in confusion. He had found that around Myridian, he would often find himself in weird situations that weren't explained easily. Myridian was an enigma; he acted in two ways. One as his goofy, fun, happy-go-lucky persona. And two as this man shrouded in mystery, divulged in secrets, and masked in many masks. They were both like two different people but both Myridian at the same time. Remus always worried for Myridian whenever he showed his latter self. It seemed like Myridian was older and more tired whenever the latter side of himself showed, and if Remus ever pointed it out, that mask appeared, and the other Myridian would appear. Remus sometimes wondered which was closer to his true self.
They had ended up leaving awkwardly, and they still bought a lot of stuff.
The walk back into the alleyway was silent, but once they got back into the wizarding district, Remus' curiosity had reached its ultimate point,
"Myridian, you are confusing, but besides all the questions I have concerning you. Are you alright?" Remus asked.
Merlin paused in his walking.
"Do you want an honest answer? Or are you looking for a satisfactory answer? Because honestly, no. But in general, I'm okay." Merlin said, looking lost.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Remus offered.
But Myridian was just silent for a long time.
For so long that Remus believed he was just going to ignore the question.
"I've lost a lot of important people. Everyone I loved, really. Some died of old age but not all of them. It seems like it's been over a thousand years since I last saw any of them." Merlin started off, "The lady in the shop. She looks like one of my first friends from when I moved to a new city when I was younger. Identical honestly, but it seems she doesn't remember or that she can't, I don't know anymore." Merlin sighed.
"Well, why don't you catch up? I'm sure she'd remember you if you told her your name. She seems nice, and it's no problem that she's a muggle, right?" Remus said, ready to turn around and go talk to the lady, but Merlin seemed hesitant.
It's not that he didn't want to connect with a Gwen; it's that he doesn't know what's going on. It's kind of evident that the Darkest Hour could be approaching. Gwen wasn't the only sign, but one of the more certain ones. He just couldn't understand why she couldn't remember him. If the people return, but no memories return with them, then he'd have to approach it differently.
If you would call it magic, the magic that brought back Merlin's friends, reincarnated them, if you will, that magic follows a 7 step process. Probably not that many steps, but there was a way in which things worked. Many of Merlin's friends have regained some of their memories already and have been reincarnated for quite some time; just nobody ever knew it. However, there was a process about how things went. Gwaine was a strange case; he kind of bypassed some of the 7 steps of the process because he just had a special connection with Merlin that pushed his memories out faster than the rest who would be soon remembering.
The process was; first, you have to have dreams, or nightmares for some of them. Then you went on to the next step that you thought you were crazy. Of course, the next step was to come to the conclusion that you weren't crazy. And then you moved on to the point where you started connecting the dots. Where you start realizing that your dreams coincide with being a character in the Arthurian legends. Then if you were to meet someone who also shared these memories, you would come to a more grounded fact that you weren't hallucinating crazy weird shit. Then what would generally happen is that if you meet Merlin himself, everything will make sense. Or, in Gwaine's case, seeing a picture of Merlin. However, for this 7 step process to work, it needs to happen in this order. So meeting Merlin now has no bearing on what she remembers because she's never had any nightmares or dreams relating to the fact that she was once the queen of Camelot.
Merlin had an idea that this was the case. He knew that magic worked in mysterious ways, as the cliche saying goes, but it was true there were processes for everything, and even if those processes were unknown to everyone, they were still valid and still worked the way they worked. Merlin was also worried that if he were to force her memories to come back, something bad would happen, so he was hesitant to "remind" Gwen that he existed.
"No, maybe another time. I don't think nows is the right moment." Merlin said, looking hesitant and awkward. "Oh, of course. This is something you can take your time with. You are a wonderful friend, so I'm sure when you meet again officially, she'll be so happy to have you back." Remus said, smiling. It caused Merlin to smile as well. They had finally made it back to the alleyway, and Merlin took them back to the store. He was conflicted but felt a lot better because of Remus.
Somewhere else...
October 29th, 2006
"Come on, big man, how can you be so tall but so slow? What's the point of having long legs?" Gwaine said, laughing, watching Percival struggle over the forest terrain.
Percival glared at Gwaine,
"You don't have tree branches smacking you in the face after every step. And why are you so good at this? Didn't you have an office job across the pond?"
Gwaine smiled, "I was a wild child; I never stayed home and always played around in the forest. Anyway, hurry up, the tour guide is getting farther and farther away. As good as my memories are about this terrain, it changed a lot throughout the years; I'm not sure if I could confidently find civilization again if we get too lost."
Percival grumbled and moved faster, even if he got smacked in the face a few more times by low-hanging branches. He, too, did not plan to get lost in some random forest.
Gwaine and Percival were currently traversing through a forest on a Camelot tour. They were heading through a forest that would lead them into a clearing with some cobblestones that were broken down through time and weather and some remnants of a castle or building in the distance. Apparently, a lot of historians believe that this place was the old Camelot, and that is why they brought us here.
However, when Gwaine and Percival happened upon the ruins of the supposed Camelot, they both felt odd, like this wasn't the place.
Gwaine actually looked to his left and started to walk, pulling on Percival's shirt to bring Percival with him, but nothing Percival said could make Gwaine stop, nor did it seem like he was hearing him at all.
Percival let Gwaine lead him into the forest, down this path, over this hill, and they even stepped through a little creek before coming up on this empty plain.
"This is it. This was Camelot, I remember." Gwaine said, pointing to a few different spots and naming what they used to be.
Slowly Percival could visualize what Gwaine was talking about. He remembered some of the buildings that Gwaine was mentioning, and a picture of Camelot was forming in his mind.
"You're right. This is definitely the place. But there is nothing left. Absolutely nothing." Percival said, looking around; he kept walking forward.
"I can see why they think that another place is Camelot; this seems lackluster in comparison."
He continued kicking a small stone aside.
"Hmm, thats weird," Gwaine said, staring at something on the floor.
There were the remnants of a footprint caked into what probably used to be muddy ground but had dried up over the course of a few days in the hot sunlight.
"Didn't it rain recently? Like a week or so ago, so why is there a footprint here? Does someone live around here? It seems weird to randomly hike here too." Gwaine was contemplating what it could mean.
But Percival just found it odd. He agreed it was a weird place for a footprint to be, but he also thought it was a coincidence that someone had recently stumbled upon this place and before them. Percival took out his cell phone and snapped a picture of the footprint and then also took a picture of the plains around him and then he wrote down in his notepad app on his phone the coordinates of this place after locating on his phone and made a little notation that read, "*this is Camelot" and another notation, "*weird footprint."
But there was nothing they could do; there was no one here, so they couldn't direct their questions to anyone but the air and each other. Gwaine kept kicking rocks, but he stopped when he noticed they were originally laid in a pattern.
"Hey, look!" he called Percival over as he was walking in the opposite direction of him.
"Doesn't this look like a pattern? Just ignore the three I kicked, but that definitely makes a shape, no?"
Percival was the perfect person to ask with that height advantage he has. So he took a look, and Gwaine was right, the stones formed some type of symbol, had to be man-made, but Percival had no idea what it meant.
"It definitely is not natural. I'll take a picture," he said, holding his phone above his head to get a better view.
"You think we should leave something here. Maybe there are more people who remember. Maybe we aren't the first that came here," Gwaine stated.
"What could we possibly leave that would make sense? A mysterious marking like this?" Percival was skeptical of the idea of leaving behind some kind of marking because he believed that whoever found it, even if they did also know about Camelot and remember their past memories they would look at it and think nothing of it.
"Man, it's the 21st century; why are we leaving strange markings? Let's just write down our phone number. I'm pretty sure anyone from this time can understand the phone number. And it's not like millions of people walk by here every day, only important people that we want to talk two will walk by here, so I don't mind leaving my phone number." Gwaine said like it was obvious.
And Percival had to give it to him because that was genius. After they had that brilliant idea, they spent a few minutes carving it into the ground and then placing stones on top of it to make sure even if rain came by, it wouldn't wash it away. After that, they stealthily snuck back into the tour group and acted like they'd been there the whole time. Even though a few people were sure they ran away in the middle of it, but nobody had any proof, and they continued with the fake view of Camelot. They learned about information that was positively wrong because they knew this wasn't the right place, but it was fun to just enjoy the rest of the day.
Hogwarts
October 31st, 2006
Hogwarts was decorated to the brim. It was the morning of Halloween, and everyone in the castle was a buzz. Everyone was feeling happy, and we were all talking about the big feast that was going to happen later today. Everyone was in a good mood except for one person. Merlin was visibly depressed.
Everyone from the shop was there that day because Merlin was going to hold a big projection show with electronics in the class, but he needed a lot of help to set it up, and he wasn't exactly sure how to work the projection machine, which is why he needed the help of the people who actually did know how to work it. So while everyone in his crew was happy, he was killing the vibe. And while everyone in the crew loves Merlin in their own unique way, whenever there's anything where someone needs to have a heart-to-heart with Merlin about his mood, they always left it to Remus. It took Remus a moment to find him; Merlin was outside, standing by the lake and just staring off into space.
"Myridian? How are you?" Remus asked.
They were alone again. Merlin acknowledged that Remus was standing there, but he didn't say anything for a little bit.
"I'm all right; it's just that Samhain makes me feel this way every year. I'm just reminiscing about when I was younger and about all the people I've lost. It is the time to celebrate all the people that have passed away. Samhain marks the beginning of winter and the darker half of the year. You know it's a very important holiday for all those who practice magic. But it's a really big holiday for the people who practice old magic." Merlin said, still staring ahead.
"Old magic? I didn't think there was anyone else left who practiced old magic. But I guess old holidays coincide with old traditions old practices." Remus said.
"Yes, ancient practices. Hey Remus, you want to see something cool?" Merlin asked.
"Uh, sure," Remus said, hoping to put Merlin in a good mood, so he readily agreed. Merlin held his hand out, like how he usually does when he wants to apparate Remus somewhere. Remus grabs his hand, and a moment later, a large crack is left behind while they are both gone.
Isle of the Blessed
October 31st, 2006
Merlin took Remus to the entrance of the Isle of the blessed. From where they were standing, it looked like a forest swamp leading to a lake, but beyond that, it was fog covering everything.
"Where are we?" Remus asked, confused.
"Ah, it doesn't look so impressive from here, but this is a very important place. Come." Merlin motioned Remus onto a very dilapidated boat.
And once they made it past the fog and onto the island, he could see that it was something. Hell, Remus could feel it. It was like he was surrounded by magic; it made goosebumps form all over his skin. It's like he could breathe easier here. He didn't know where this place was, but it was amazing.
"You feel it, right? The overabundance of magic. This place is called the Isle of the Blessed. This place used to be the center of the old religion, and where its powers were focused." Merlin said, leading Remus deeper into the island.
"Old religion? I'm not familiar with that term."
"Oh, it's another word for old magic, it's what my ancestors practiced, like druids, but at that time, anyone could use it," Merlin said, remembering to stick to his lie for a moment.
"Anyway, this place used to be owned by the high priestess of the old religion; they used to do rituals and make sacrifices here," Merlin said, continuing.
"Sacrifices? Are you sure the old religion wasn't dark magic?" Remus asked.
"No. Think about magic like a sword. A sword does not have any attributes to be evil or good; it's the person who wields it that causes it to do good or evil. So magic is just a tool that if used in the right hands could cause great good and if used in the wrong hands could ca use great evil." Merlin said passionately.
"But what about sacrifices? Isn't that dark magic?" Remus asked.
Merlin groaned, "Magic is about balance; in the old religion, it is based on the philosophy of a sacred balance between all people, creatures, and elements of the universe which must be eternally preserved. At the heart of the old religion, there is a balance between life and death itself. The concept of dark magic and light magic doesn't exist within the old religion. It is the foundation of magic itself; those ideas were later thought up." Merlin had to explain it that way because there were evil sorceresses and sorcerers when the old religion was prevalent, but they never considered magic itself dark.
Some spells were a little bit wicked if used wrong, but only if they were misused. It's hard to explain it to a society that's so caught up in good vs. evil.
"Anyway, we-" Merlin stopped talking and pulled Remus behind a wall the moment he heard a sound.
This was the Isle of the Blessed; there was supposed to be nobody here except for Merlin and Remus. Nobody was supposed to know this place existed except Merlin. So why were there four robed individuals standing ahead of them around the altar that sat in the middle of the island? Remus was about to ask what was going on till he heard some voices. They both continued to hide but spied on what was going on through the cracks in the wall.
"Who is that?" Remus whispered.
"I don't know. This is very, very weird and very, very wrong. Nobody is supposed to know about this place." Merlin said, looking confused.
"Maybe it's another druid, like you." Remus offered.
"Impossible, there is no one else like me. This is very wrong; you have to get out of here." Merlin said he worried about Remus, and also, he couldn't fight at his fullest capacity with him here.
But Merlin also realized he couldn't just leave these people here. He couldn't take Remus back to Hogwarts and then come back. They could leave in the meantime, and he had to know what they were doing. Merlin suddenly conjured two white robes to mask their appearances, and he told Remus to follow behind him and follow his lead.
"Who goes there?" Merlin said in a deeper voice.
He used a bit of magic to change his appearance slightly, even under the robe, while he made Remus' robe block out all light so you couldn't see his face.
The four individuals turned around, and it was very surprising to see who was there. There were two Death Eaters by the masks they were wearing, then bloody Voldemort himself and a girl whose face was obscured by her robe.
Merlin and Remus were so surprised seeing Voldemort that they didn't pay attention to the others.
"Why are you here? How dare you step foot on this scarred island" Merlin was playing the role of the gatekeeper of this place, but he was so shocked.
How did Voldemort know of this place? And why was he here today? It couldn't mean anything good. The Death Eaters pulled out their wands, and Voldemort looked intrigued, yet he looked to the shorter girl beside himself questioningly.
The girl looked confused.
"Who are you? I don't remember you?" The girl said.
Merlin got a bad feeling. Which was proved right as soon as the girl took her hood off.
"I am Morgana Pendragon, High Priestess of the Old Religion; who are you to stop me?"
Merlin paused at that declaration. Remus looked stupified.
"She asked who you are, answer or die!" One Death Eater shouted.
Merlin regained his wits and stood more in front of Remus, who also took out his wand.
"We are gatekeepers of this island, protectors of the Old Religion, and Morgana Pendragon is dead. Who are you, and what are you here for?" Merlin said again.
He needed to know how she was here again.
"I am Morgana; I've been reborn, reincarnated. My proof of knowing this place should be enough. And we are here to open the veil once again. If you are followers of the Tripple Goddess, then you know as a priestess I have the right to be here." Morgana said.
Merlin felt dread.
They could not do this shit again.
"The veil will not be opened." Merlin pulled out his wand.
"I will stop you. Brother, go bring the others." Merlin said while looking at Remus, telling him to get back up.
It's not like Merlin couldn't handle them, but to keep them out all day is what needed to happen, and he would need help for that.
Remus looked worried, but he trusted Merlin and gave the place one last look before running back to the boat. The Death Eaters tried to chase him, but Merlin protected him with a barrier.
"You shouldn't take your eyes off me!" Merlin shouted to the Death Eaters as he forwent the use of his wand and threw them back with magic soundlessly.
Both Death Eaters flew through the air, getting knocked out after hitting the walls of the ruins.
"I will warn you one last time, take your people and go. The veil will not be opened ever again." Merlin said, not wanting to face off here.
Yet his warnings were in vain.
"HA! You think that will scare me. I know how to do magic of the Old Religion too, and I'm stronger than you." Morgana screamed, preparing a spell.
Back at Hogwarts
Same day
"Siri-James!" Remus yelled, barrelling into Merlin's thankfully empty classroom.
The only people there were his coworkers.
"Remus?" Both Gideon and Sam asked, confused because Remus was still wearing his white robe.
Sirius jumped up, startled but then looked serious at the look on Remus' face.
"What's wrong?" Sirius asked.
"Myridian's in trouble; follow me," Remus said.
But then he also mentioned,
"Just James." He said as an afterthought.
Remus led Sirius to Dumbledores office, and once he was there, he caught his breath.
"Remus? Sirius? Is something wrong?" Dumbledore wasn't sure what to make of the two men who just ran into his room.
Sirius looked confused while Remus looked out of breath and worried while clad in some weird white robe with a symbol on it.
"Myridian is in trouble. He needs help gather the order." Remus said, finally catching his breath.
"We found He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Myridian wanted to show me something, so he took me somewhere, some island or something about the history of magic. I can't remember all the details right now. But when we were walking on the island, we noticed some people there and when we confronted them, it was the Dark Lord and some Death Eaters. I was going to stay back and fight with him, but this young girl who was with them started claiming that she was Morgana and started talking about a veil. I thought she was crazy, but suddenly Myridian told me to go get back up. So we have to go now." Remus said, trying to rush them.
"You left him alone with two Death Eaters, the Dark Lord, and a crazy witch; why?" Sirius asked, thinking that it was basically like leaving him to die against at least three top-class wizards and an unknown girl.
Who could be crazy or could be really good at magic.
"Myridian is strong. But not strong enough to last forever, so let's go." Remus said, leaving the office by himself.
Eventually, Dumbledore and Sirius got the message. Dumbledore asked Sirius to contact any order member who could make it. Remus made a few more cloaks by transfiguring a few items to match the one he was wearing. He thought it would be better to continue to mask their identity, as he was supposedly supposed to be bringing along more brothers who were guardians of the Isle of the Blessed or whatever. By the time everyone gathered at the boat, Remus handed out the cloaks and explained what they were walking into. In total, there were four who could make it. Dumbledore, Mad-eye Moody, Sirius, and Remus. But they should be enough as long as Dumbledore was there.
Remus led them back to where he last left Myridian, and what they saw was a bit astonishing. Two Death Eaters were on the floor, they didn't look dead, but they didn't look so conscious either. Next was Voldemort looking as pristine as ever. And the crazy girl was bleeding from her nose but otherwise looked fine.
"I'm back," Remus said.
Merlin looked towards him and noticed more cloaked people behind him. He smirked; happily, he was glad that Remus was smart to hide their identity.
"One last chance. Take your people and leave, or die where you stand." Merlin said again with a deep voice.
The others behind Merlin looked confused. They thought this was the perfect opportunity to take down Voldemort or try. But they were going to follow his lead because they didn't really know what was going on. Also, they were all feeling the effects of the Isle of the Blessed around them, the magic in the air was making their very being vibrate.
The girl, self-labeled as Morgana, looked absolutely livid.
"Why are you so strong? I am a high priestess; you shouldn't be stronger than me using this type of magic. WHO ARE YOU!?" She screamed, contradicting her previous cla im.
But Merlin didn't answer, raising his hand; magic started to build up in his palm.
First a spark, then a fire started to grow in his hand.
"Forbearne! Akwele!" Merlin shouted, sending the magic fireball at Morgana.
Her eyes widened, and she hastily cast a shield, but it knocked her out from the overuse of magic.
Merlin turned to Voldemort. But Voldemort seemed upset and annoyed. Surprisingly, he didn't fight and just grabbed the girl and disapparated; one other Death Eater followed, but Merlin stopped the other from leaving.
He needed to know why Morgana was back and how she was with Voldemort.
Quickly Moody knocked the man out again and restricted him. Merlin sat on the floor, tired for different reasons.
Remus looked worried and rushed towards him.
"Myridian, are you all right?" Remus asked, checking Myridian's body for any injures.
"I'm fine. I didn't get hurt. I'm just a bit tired, is all." Merlin said, laying down, his hood falling off.
"Myridian, that spell you used, I've never heard of it before. Is it a druid spell? It seems powerful." Dumbledore said curiously.
"Yes, it is a druid spell. Normally it's a difficult spell, but this island enhances magic. You can feel it right, the abundance of magic in the air." Merlin said, lying again.
"Yes, I can feel it. What is this place?" Dumbledore asks, looking at their surroundings.
"Oh uh, this is the Isle of the Blessed; it's a sacred island believed to be the home of magic. It's a place where high priestesses used to worship the Tripple Goddess and study magic. But all the high priestesses died a long time ago. Now, this island is abandoned. I come by every now and again to check on it, but I was sure nobody else could come here because you can only enter if you know the way or someone shows you. I need to hide this place again..." Merlin mumbled the last part to himself.
"But didn't that kid say she was a high priest or whatever?" Sirius asked.
Merlin looked conflicted.
"She claims that she's been reincarnated. Morgana was a high priestess, but she was killed. I need more information..." Merlin said, mumbling the last part again.
"So she's crazy?" Sirius concluded.
"Well, I would agree, but the magic she uses and her knowing this place existed begs to differ, unfortunately." Merlin disagreed.
"So, how do we find out more information?" Remus asked.
"I could ask a friend of mine."
Merlin offered,
"She'd probably know what's going on. I just don't know if she'll be able to." Merlin said.
"Well, let's go," Sirius said.
"Go? T-together?" Merlin fumbled.
He had just been answering the questions, not really thinking about it. The only person he could ask about this would be Freya, and how is he going to explain that.
"Can we not?" Remus asked.
"We can," Merlin said, sighing.
"But my friend, she's not easy to meet. Today is probably the best day to ask, though. But I can't leave here till tomorrow. They can not open the veil." Merlin said seriously.
"The veil?" Moody asked as he was silently listening till then.
"Ah, it's a very, very dangerous thing. It's the veil between worlds. High priestesses could open the veil through a spell on Samhain every year, but it lets out a foul creature if they do. It's not something that we can let happen. I don't want to let anyone pay the price for the spell to close the veil, so I won't let them open it." Merlin said seriously.
"This seems to be all concerning your druidic ancestry. Is there any chance that girl is a druid or of druid decent?" Dumbledore asks, seeing Myridian avoiding answering the questions fully.
"No, she's not. She's a muggle." Merlin said matter-of-factly.
"Muggle? What?" Sirius said, confused.
"But she clearly used magic; that shield charm was definitely her magic." Sirius continued.
"Oh, she was using magic, but she is a muggle; it's why she's so weak. But in time, she could grow stronger; that's why she's dangerous." Merlin concluded, yet it seemed more like he was talking to himself.
"So this friend, you said they can answer our questions?"
Moody asked,
"Why not go now? They've left. We can station other members of the order around to keep watch if your friend can't come here themselves."
Moody offered, ready to give the signal to other members.
Merlin looked a bit awkward.
"My friend is...ah... hard to reach, and even if I do ask her ... she might not be able to tell me what I need to know. Also, I can't have anyone know where this place is." Merlin finished.
He confused everyone, and once he realized it, he clarified himself.
"This place, while abandoned now, is sacred; I can't have random people coming here, order members or not. I will hide this place later, so if you have something you are curious about, look now because you will not be able to come back. I understand things don't make sense, I'm confused too, but I can't leave until I'm sure the veil won't open. And my friend, she's restricted by things out of our control. I don't know if her information will be helpful or cryptic as always." Merlin finished still confusing his friends but at least making some sense.
"Wait, if you can make it so that we won't find it again, can't you make it so the crazy girl can't find it either?" Sirius asks.
"Well, yes, but I don't want to risk the chance that she can circumvent my magic since hers is of the same nature," Merlin explained why he was hesitating to leave.
"I can stay alone. It's fine." Merlin started to say, but Remus interrupted.
"I'm not leaving you alone when the Dark Lord could come back any moment. Also, what if your friend is hostile or something? You shouldn't do any of this alone." Remus said, being adamant about this.
"Yeah, I second this; you're not staying alone," Sirius said.
Merlin looked annoyed, "I'm not incompetent."
"No, your not, but you don't have to handle this on your own. This isn't your fight alone." Dumbledore said, ending the bickering.
"Myridian, Remus, and Sirius will go to meet this friend of yours. Moody and I will watch over this place till you return. We can split the work; we will work smarter, not harder." Dumbledore all but gave the orders for how things were going to go.
"Fine, let us do it this way. If they do come back, you are members of a druid clan protecting this place. It would be better if no one knows we were here." Merlin relented.
After the okay was given by Merlin, things started to happen. Merlin, Remus, and Sirius left by boat, and Dumbledore and Moody, plus one unconscious Death Eater, were left to watch and explore.
Off to see the lady of the lake...

Notes:
So to recap, Gwen and Merlin met, but Gwen doesn't have any memories. Gwaine and Percival are getting closer and closer to the truth. Merlin took Remus to the Isle of the Blessed and met Morgana, who is in league with Voldemort. The group splits and half of them stay at the island while the other half head off to the Lake.
Cool.
Hope you enjoyed it! The next chapter is in the works, but I just started it so no idea when I'll be done yet.
