Omarnosian10: Hello everyone! *walks in dramatically, wearing a Ghostface costume with a pumpkin head, while 'The Final Countdown' by Europe plays*

Oliver: Seriously?

Omarnosian10: Considering that this is being published the hour Halloween starts and that this is the final Halloween Special for the Galactic Defenders, I feel it's appropriate.

Kaz: Good point. Anyway, for formalities, this is a Halloween Special.

Oliver: Mighty Med Style!

Omarnosian10: Unlike my previous special, this is posted a year after that was, thanks to the pandemic lowering for a bit. And now a moment of silence for the end of a short but great series.

Horace: Mighty Med creators Jim Bernstein & Andy Schwartz, no one will forget your work.

Kim: This special is based on the Mighty Med episode, Night of the Living Nightmare, and takes place in the other Halloween specials.

Skylar: We wish you all a—

Everyone: Happy Halloween!

The Galactic Defenders Halloween Special: Mighty Med Edition

(Mighty Med Common Room)

"Alright, Great Defender, it looks like that fracture is healing up quite nicely. (smiles at Great Defender before looking at a chart and writing prescription) You're free to go, but remember to pick up these painkillers before you sign out." ordered Kim.

"Thank you, Kim." replied Great Defender, accepting the prescription paper with the unbandaged hand.

"No problem. It's great to help a fellow Defender," said Kim. Great Defender chuckles at the pun on their titles.

"From one Defender to another, I gotta ask, what are you doing here instead of Seaford?" asked the alien.

"Team thing; aside from Kaz, each member's gotta intern here for a month for medical experience outside our powers," explained Kim.

"Gotcha. Can't tell ya how many times my deflection shield failed me and I had to heal myself before learning about this place." nodded Great Defender.

"Thanks, and have a great day." nodded Kim, heading off to find her teammate.

"So, are you guys coming to the Gargoyles and Goblets Halloween tournament at the Domain tonight? Anyone who's no one is going to be there," asked Jordan through Oliver's phone, talking in the main lobby with him, Kaz, and Skylar.

"Is that Jordan? (walks behind trio) Hey, Jordan!" chirped Kim.

"Oh, is that Kim?" asked Jordan in false enthusiasm before hanging up.

"I'm sure I'm just imagining it, but sometimes I get the feeling that Jordan doesn't like me," mentioned Kim.

"Don't be silly. You're not imagining it; she can't stand you." chuckled Kaz before getting Gibbslapped by Oliver.

"How can she not like me?" demanded Kim, stunned.

"Don't take it personally, Kim. Jordan doesn't like anyone. Last year, she's thrown a 'sour sixteen party'. Nobody was invited." said Oliver.

"But she has to like me! She's the only girl not in my group chat!" insisted Kim, taking out her phone and showing the main members of the chat; her, Skylar, Gwen, Helen, and Bree. Both Julies were kicked out of it after cheating on Ben and Milton.

"What's the big deal?" shrugged Kaz.

"Kaz, if there's one thing you'll never understand, it's us girls." sighed Kim.

"Yeah!" cheered Skylar, high-fiving her best female friend.

"Now if you excuse me, I have a sister to add to our group." And with a determined look on her face, Kim waltzed out of the hospital, heading for the Domain.

"Well, that's going to go well," commented Skylar sarcastically.

"Doesn't she know our shifts haven't ended (everyone's phones received alerts) yet… Nice." whistled Kaz.

"Finally. I can't wait to go home and start Trick-or-Treating," muttered Oliver.

"Kids, I need you to work the night shift, which means you won't sleep 'till after Halloween," demanded Horace, walking in and wearing a Dr. Giggles costume… while leading a pouting Kim inside.

"But Horace, it's Halloween." protested Kaz.

"And what am I supposed to tell my dad? I can't exactly tell him I work here." reminded Kim.

"Just tell them that you're crashing at my place for Halloween," suggested Kaz.

"Oh, I get it. (nods) Then you'll tell your parents that you're sleeping at Oliver's house." noted Horace.

"Don't have to — my parents have eleven kids. They won't even notice I'm gone," replied Kaz, shrugging with a hint of sadness.

"Alright then. (prepares to leave) Oh, and one more thing; you may have heard that the night shift can be a bit scary, especially on Halloween, but you'll be fine… Unless a once in a lifetime lunar eclipse causes the most horrifying night ever. But what are the odds tonight?" laughed Horace. Checking her phone, Skylar hissed.

"About the same as Kim being rejected by Jordan," noted Skylar, showing a news website about tonight. Kim pouts at her lack of faith.

"So 99 out of 100." sighed Horace before walking away to deal with another patient. "Also, you're free to wear costumes this night so go crazy!"

"Score!" cheered Kaz, running to the fabricator room.

(Minutes later)

"Ugh, nothing's happening! Who thought a lunar eclipse could be so boring? How long have we been here?" complained Kaz, spinning on a stool.

"Six minutes." answered the couple, walking back in with their costumes; Oliver wearing a Brain Matter costume and Skylar wearing a Lucky Girl costume.

"What are you wearing?!" gawked Skylar, looking at Kaz's green jacket and brown wig.

"I'm Ben 10!" laughed Kaz. Rolling his eyes, Oliver turned to his girlfriend.

"Ever since Ben started his hero career, Kaz spent every Halloween wearing costumes of his aliens," explained Oliver.

"And I'm proud of it! (displays Dueltrix) But with this thing on, I can't put on that fake Ultimatrix I made after Ben was outed." sighed Kaz.

"Speaking of your teammates, why isn't Kim here?" asked Skylar.

"Horace has her moving some stuff into storage for almost ditching work," answered Kaz.

"Done." Speak of the devil, a puff of green smoke occurs on a desk before being replaced by Stealth Elf Series 2 sitting.

"That was fast," noted Oliver.

"It was nothing. (reverts) Horace just had me move some crated plants." explained Kim. Suddenly, the doors to the ER swung open, and a familiar superhero walked in.

"Hey, NeoCortex. (walks up to him) We haven't seen you since that time we almost turned your brain into a nuclear bomb last year." chuckled Oliver.

"YOU DID WHAT?!" gawked Kim and Skylar. Oliver winced, realizing he never caught them up.

"Long story, I'll explain later. (turns to NeoCortex) What's wrong?" asked Oliver.

"Whenever I try to read someone's mind, they fall into a daydream-like state. But I was hoping to talk to Doctor ANYONE BUT YOU!" declared NeoCortex.

"Yeah, it's his night off. And it's pronounced 'Antwon Butchoo'." snarked Kaz. It earns him Gibbslaps from the girls.

"Well, you're in luck. We just got a device that allows us to create a mind-link that will allow us to see into a patient's mind and diagnose their medical mysteries," explained Oliver, walking to the device.

"We call it the Link-Minder." smiled Kaz.

"Why don't you let me show you what's been happening." insisted NeoCortex, impatient. Oliver stepped away before he could try.

"Don't try it on me! What if you fry my brain? Try it on someone who serves no function." demanded Oliver.

"I serve no function. What do you need?" offered Philip, walking up to them and wearing a Slix Vigma costume. Before Kaz could put a Link-Minder on, Kim beat him to it.

"Just put this on. (hands one to Phillip) We just to see if this will let us see what's going on inside that head of yours." explained Kim.

"Okay, (puts Link-Minder on) but don't make fun of my head. We all know it's embarrassingly tiny." chuckled Phillip. NeoCortex looked Philip in the eye, sending a ray of neural energy at the Link-Minder just as Oliver hit a button on a remote. Kim dramatically gasped, pupils shrinking.

(Philip's Dream)

Philip, dressed in a tuxedo, accepts a golden trophy for having the biggest head in the universe while the audience applause him.

"You like my head, you really, really like my head." cried Phillip joyfully.

(Reality)

Returning with Kim, Philip pulled off the helmet.

"It was only a daydream? How could a head so small be filled with dreams so big?" sighed Phillip, disappointed.

"Thanks, Philip." nodded Skylar, taking the Link-Minder. Phillip walked away, thinking hard about his daydream.

"You're causing people to get lost in their greatest fantasies like Hypnotick." realized Kim.

"Really?! And like that machine Enoch used on Ben to try and remove the original Omnitrix?" grinned Kaz.

"…OK seriously, how are you his second-in-command?" wondered Skylar. Kaz only shrugged.

"I need to figure out how to cure NeoCortex," muttered Oliver, thinking.

"What? Don't fix him! This could be my chance to get Jordan to be my friend!" protested Kim.

"The last time a friend of ours was here, it didn't end well." countered Oliver, remembering Evil Gus. Kim only narrows her eyes, walking away to put on a costume.

"This is not over."

(Minutes later)

"During your battle with the Re-Atomizer, he must have scrambled the neural connections in your brain," noted Oliver, writing some notes down on the hero's chart. Behind him, Kim is looking through desks, wearing a Buffy Summers costume.

"USB prison, no. Portable chargers, no. Soy sauce packets?" blinked Kim.

"Benny got them mixed with Wifi's prison last year when trying to find a safe," explained Kaz, looking over a sleeping Alley Cat. Kim nods, knowing he's referring to the nurse and not their leader.

'I can't believe those two haven't met yet. It'd be very confusing.'

Suddenly, a wave of blue-ish green energy floated across the room, covering them in a sort of mist.

"What was that?" wondered Kim, suddenly tired. Finding an opportunity, she took out a glass jar and collected as much mist as possible.

"Uh, that was me. (raised his hand as the mist evaporated) I farted, and then that happened," admitted NeoCortex. Soon, everyone in the room was stifling yawns. Pulling a look of disgust, Kim looks at the recently sealed jar, debating if it was worth it.

"Your psychic burst must have raised everyone's melatonin levels," noted Oliver.

"Meaning?" yawned Kaz.

"We're all getting drowsy. We need to find a way to cure NeoCortex before he gets worse," noted Oliver.

"Yeah, I don't wanna see if there's anything more embarrassing than sleeping to psychic farts." agreed Kim.

"What's wrong with Alley Cat?" demanded NeoCortex. Looking over, everyone sees her twitching in her sleep, tossing and turning relentlessly. Kaz got to her before anyone else could, slipping the Link-Minders onto both of them. After a moment, he let out a relieved breath.

"She's just having a nightmare. Instead of jumping from building to building and landing on her feet like she's used to, she's falling into a bottomless pit. It's very calm and harmless—AHHH!" suddenly screamed Kaz, horrified while Alley Cat went limp. "Okay, that bottomless pit? Turns out it had a bottom."

Suddenly, the machines attached to Alley Cat started beeping, then she started flatlining.

"What's going on?" asked Skylar, walking in after using the bathroom. Oliver grabbed Alley Cat's wrist as Kaz removed his helmet.

"She has no brain activity," announced Kim, looking at the machines.

"And no pulse. That means she's—" started Oliver.

"Dead." Everyone turned to see Horace standing at the desks, plugging his cell phone into a charger. "I forgot my phone charger here, and now my cell is dead. What's going on?"

"NeoCortex's powers are malfunctioning and now Alley Cat is dead," explained Oliver. Seconds after that, Alley Cat shot straight up, breathing heavy and looking around in confusion as her vitals returned to normal.

"Uh, was dead." corrected Kaz.

"Fortunately, one of her powers is that she has nine lives," explained Skylar, gently lowering her back into the bed. "So, she's got eight lives left."

"LOOK OUT!" shouted Kim, pulling the bed right when a ceiling light fell onto where the cat heroine was.

"Almost seven." sighed Skylar.

"So instead of putting people into fantasies, now you're putting people into nightmares?" asked Oliver incredulously.

"And when Alley Cat died in her nightmare, she died in real life too. Is the same thing going to happen to everyone exposed to your powers that falls asleep?" realized Kaz.

"That sounds about right." nodded NeoCortex.

"We will find a way to cure him, but until we do, we have to make sure no one here falls asleep." decided Horace. Seconds later, a lullaby-like melody started playing, the tune making everyone all a little drowsier.

'Are you kidding me?!'

"Whoops. (lowers ringtone) Given the circumstances, that was an unfortunate choice of ringtones. (answers) What is it? …WHAT?! Seal the place! We cannot have those loose!" ordered Horace before hanging up.

"Did things just get worse?" asked Skylar.

"Sadly. Kim, remember those crates I had you move into storage? (She nods) Well, I partially lied. There were no plants in those crates, they were eggs." explained Horace.

"Seriously?!" gawked Kim.

"You didn't let me finish. Those eggs were confiscated from the Ambusher and aren't from Earth. Those eggs are Testufungine." added Horace.

"What?" asked almost everyone.

"Pesky Dust's natural predator." translated Horace.

"But Pesky Dust has the power to put people to sleep and control dreams." reminded Skylar. "Are you saying—"

"That these Testufungine have a counter for that? Yes, instead of releasing dust, they release spores that put Nemuina to sleep, but instead of dreams, they put in nightmares capable of breaking a person emotionally and mentally." dreaded Horace.

"That sounds worse than what's happening now." frowned Oliver.

"What do these things look like?" asked Kaz. Bringing up a holo-screen, Horace brings up an image of a school bus-sized, six-legged, six-eyed, gray turtle with a long tail and a mushroom for a shell.

(Disclaimer: This predator belongs to Master-Of-Dreams from DeviantArt)

"Kaz, can Drake turn into that?" asked Skylar. Kaz rubs his head, trying to remember.

"Nope, but when he does, I got the perfect name for the guy." grinned Kaz.

"What?" tilted Kim.

"Sporetoise."

"Huh… clever." nodded Oliver.

"How many eggs are there?" asked Skylar.

"An average Testufungine lays between 24—70 eggs in their lifetime. From what I cataloged earlier, we're dealing with mid-range," answered Horace.

"How can so many eggs hatch at once?" gulped Kim.

"From what a guard told me, the one safeguarding storage fell asleep onto a light switch, and these babies thrive in the darkness," explained Horace.

"Which is made worse by tonight's lunar eclipse." winced Oliver.

"We gotta stop these Shellbrains!" declared Kaz.

"But we also need to keep everyone here awake." reminded Kim. Humming, Kaz paced in place, using the leadership skills Ben and Chase taught him.

"Alright, we'll split up. Me, Kim, Skylar, and Oliver will head out and make sure none of those Sporetoises get in. Everyone, you need to keep yourselves awake." ordered Kaz.

"But how?" asked a random patient.

"O~h, I know. (connects the phone to hospital systems) I made a playlist for this specific night." grinned Skylar, scrolling through her phone before selecting. Spooky music is heard across the speakers.

"Nightmare Before Christmas?" tilted Kim, recognizing the playlist. Skylar shrugged.

"It's a great movie."

(Cliffside leading to Mighty Med)

"See them anywhere?" asked Skylar, looking through a pair of night-vision binoculars with everyone.

"Nope/Zip/Zilch." responded the others. Skylar sighed, about to put her binoculars down until she spotted a flicker of purple.

"Guys!" At her shout, they followed her sight, seeing car-sized Testufungines crawling out of a beach.

"You guys ready?" asked Oliver, taking out the Space Belt.

"Yeah." nodded the Defenders activating their matrixes. Once the bale of turtle aliens becomes close enough, they went out.

"BLAST OFF!"

"GOING HERO!"

"IT'S HERO TIME!"

In three flashes of light, Kamen Rider Apollo, Blackwing — Shura the Blue Flame (International), and Roller Brawl stood beside Skylar Storm, the latter forming plasma spheres.

"I~t's Spacetime!" announced Apollo, activating a Switch.

=ROCK—ET: ON!=

Rocket Module equipped, Apollo soared over the nest, kicking away Testufungine heads that tried to bite him.

"Gotta fly!" squawked Shura, flying low and tripping Testufungine.

"Let's Roll!" declared Roller Brawl, blades crackling with pink energy. "Roller Claws!" Skating through the nest, she knocks away plenty of the predators.

"There's a storm coming… Skylar Storm!" declared Skylar, slamming her plasma spheres onto the ground. Suddenly, pillars of energy erupted through a row of Testufungines, flipping them onto their shells.

"That's my girl!" laughed Apollo, rocketing a fist onto a predator. Blushing, Skylar played with her hair, not noticing a Testufungine raising its head while a cloud of spores escaped his shell.

"Skylar, behind you!" At her female best friend's shout, Skylar turned around, only to catch a whiff of the spores and freeze, letting more cloud over her.

=AER—O: ON!=

Landing by his girlfriend, Apollo stomped the Aero Module, letting it suck the spores around them, before dismissing the Rocket Module and punching the responsible Testufungine's shell, knocking it out.

"Skylar, are you OK?" asked Apollo, shaking her shoulder, only to get nothing.

"What happened to Skylar?" asked Shura, he and Roller Brawl huddling.

"I don't know. I mean, she's not asleep, but she's not responding." sighed Apollo. Using her vampire senses, Roller Brawl took a sniff, stiffening before shaking her head.

"Looks like sleep isn't the only stuff those spores can do. Smells like she's paralyzed by the stuff." snarled the Undead Skylander.

"Man…" whined Shura. Seeing a small group of Testufungine cloud the others in spores like smoke, the Winged Beast ascended and flapped his wings, blowing the spores away before dive kicking a predator's shell, knocking it out. Suddenly, a purple glow covers him; the form's special effect activating.

"Come on, Blackwing — Mistral the Silver Shield!" announced Shura, creating a series of poses before the glow moves to his side and forms the mentioned monster; Dueltrix symbol on the forehead. Screeching, the other Kaz flew around Skylar, blocking the claws of the gathering Testufungine.

=MED—IC—AL: ON!=

Dismissing the Aero Module, Apollo holds up the Medical Module, looking through the supplies.

"Found something!" announced Apollo, taking out a needle and injecting Skylar with a cure.

"Good. Skate Blades!" announced Roller Brawl, spinning on her head while her skates crackled with energy before sending replicates at the Testufungine around them, knocking them all out.

"Looks like that's all of them," noted Shura, flying back with Mistral. Suddenly, a screech echoed across the night sky.

"That wasn't us!" shook Mistral. Ringing is heard before Roller Brawl tapped her Skylatrix symbol.

"What is it?" asked the vampire.

"I'm afraid things are about to get worse. I was looking over the reports from Tecton when he fought the Ambusher and found a critical detail." dreaded Horace.

"What is it?" asked Apollo, Skylar loosening.

"The mother was never recovered."

A louder, more horrifying screech filled the air. Looking across the sea, they see a large Testufungine with scars over her body floating over.

"Found her," said Roller Brawl dryly, hanging.

"How much you wanna bet that she isn't happy with us being rough on her kids?" gulped Mistral. He received his answer with the mother creating a large cloud of spores, almost blanketing her.

"A lot." nodded Apollo.

"We can't get too close or who knows what those spores will do," noted Skylar.

"I'll take care of it." nodded Shura, he and Mistral flying up. Kaz's human voice then sounded from his Dueltrix.

"I tune Level 2 Blackwing — Mistral the Silver Shield with Level 4 Blackwing — Shura the Blue Flame!"

The former turns into a bright light, then split into two stars and the two stars turned into two green rings, and Shura was surrounded by the rings as he became transparent with orange outlining.

"Pitch-dark power, lodge in its great wings and stir up the divine winds!"

3+4=7

Suddenly, a pillar of light shot through the rings.

"SYNCHRO SUMMON!"

"Gust fiercely, Blackwing — Armed Wing!"

In the two monsters' place, stood Blackwing — Armed Wing (Japanese weapon and International body).

"So that's a Synchro Form." whistled Skylar, impressed.

"He's not the only one going all out!" declared Apollo, taking out a certain phone-like Switch.

=N/S MAG—NET: ON!=

In a flash of silver, Apollo — Magnet States appeared.

"FIRE!" shouted the best friends; Armed Wing firing his shotgun while Apollo blasts with magnetic energy. The relentless assault cleared out the spore cloud, showing—

"Where'd that Planthead go?" gawked Armed Wing, pumping his shotgun before aiming around. Doing the same, Apollo readied his cannons before noticing a shadow coming over his friend, almost like…

"Kaz, above you!" The Synchro Monster looked up to see the mother falling belly first onto him.

"Oh my—" Those were his last words before being crushed by the turtle-like predator.

"KAZ!" And to make matters worse, a burst of spores came out from below her shell, covering him more.

"Get off my pal, you walking vegan dish!" roared Apollo, pulling his lever.

=N/S MAG—NET: LIMIT BREAK!=

"Rider Super Electromagnetic Tackle!" Cannons charged, Apollo flew at the Testufungine mother with his jetpack, the magnetic energy beginning to coat him. Becoming a comet, Apollo ram into the mother, pushing her off Armed Wing and sending her into the cliffside before she fell onto her back, unconscious. Relieved, everyone powered down, running to Armed Wing. In a flash of green/inverted light, the Synchro Monster reverted, unconscious.

"Kaz, wake up!" pleaded Kim, shaking his shoulder to no avail.

"C'mon, Kaz, this is no time to joke around!" scolded Skylar, slapping Kaz's face, but getting nothing.

"He's really sleeping." realized Oliver in horror, before shaking Kaz. "Kaz, you have to wake up or you'll die! Kaz!"

(Emergency Room)

"Horace!" shouted Oliver, racing into the ER. His girlfriend and Kim were right behind him, pushing the cart they got Kaz onto. He's still out like a light, curled up in a ball on top of the medical cart. "Kaz fell asleep!"

"Is there any way we could use the Link-Minders so we could help him before his nightmare destroys him?" hoped Kim. Horace shook his head grimly.

"The lunar eclipse has caused all of our technology to malfunction. Even our most important piece of technology; my electric toothbrush. I haven't brushed in over an hour!" whined Horace, taking the appliance out to demonstrate.

"Well, there's got to be some way to help him!" insisted Kim.

"If Kaz was awake, he'd probably tell us about how Ben got out of this scenario." sighed Skylar.

"NeoCortex! You can project your consciousness into other people's minds, and you can read our minds. Do you think you can combine those powers and project my consciousness into Kaz's dream?" asked Oliver.

"My powers are pretty messed up right now, but I can try. What's the worst that can happen?" hesitated the hero.

"Oliver's heads could explode?" guessed Horace. Oliver stared at him in horror.

"Yes, of course, but I meant what's the worst that can happen to me?" explained NeoCortex, getting glares from the girls.

"Are you sure you want to do this, Oliver? (caresses his cheek) You can't bring your Belt into his dream and even if you could, it'd be dangerous." worried Skylar. Touched, Oliver detached her hand.

"I have to. Kaz is my best friend, and he'd do the same for me," answered Oliver, determined. Not waiting for an answer, he laid on a bed to Kaz's left.

"Wait, Oliver, before you do this, in case anything goes horribly wrong… (grabs newspapers and puts them around bed) I want to put down these newspapers. I just waxed this floor," explained Horace, hiding his concern. Rolling his eyes, Oliver looks at the veteran hero.

"Just send me in before he says anything else."

(Kaz's dream)

In an empty classroom, a teacher was prowling around Kaz in casual attire, waiting for him to screw up or circle the wrong multiple choice. Disheartened, Kaz looked up from the paper and glanced at the teacher. Suddenly, the woman changed and grew, becoming—

"Vilgax?!"

Ben 10's greatest enemy in his 10 Worlds Conqueror armor stood before him. Kaz stood up in shock, just as a very surprised scream came from behind him. Kaz whipped around to see Oliver standing just a few feet behind him, stunned.

"What are you doing here?" demanded Kaz.

"Oh, you know, just hanging out." laughed Oliver nervously, looking at Vilgax. The supervillain laughed menacingly.

"Class is in session! Today's lesson: the Blade of Caselly," announced Vilgax, unsheathing then swinging his sword.

"AGH!" screamed Kaz, jumping away. The sword cut through the desk in front while sending an energy wave, destroying all the furniture and accessories in the classroom.

The only things left in the room were Vilgax, Oliver, and Kaz. Kaz looked back at his friend, shocked that Vilgax's attack hadn't hurt them. Vilgax snarled, eyes glowing.

"Kaz, quick! Think of Vilgax inside a cage!" shouted Oliver.

"What, why?" demanded Kaz.

"Just do it!" insisted Oliver. Kaz gave in to their pleas, thinking hard. Much to his surprise, when Vilgax fired his eye lasers, they redirected to go around him randomly, forming a makeshift cage. Deciding not to question it right then, the humans raced out of the room and into—

"Man, you really need to lay off on your leader's adventures." gawked Oliver, seeing the interior of the Chimeran Hammer MK 3 mixed with Halloween decorations.

"How did that happen and what is going on? And why is my hand a rainbow trout?!" panicked Kaz, waving the transformed limb. Soon, it turned to normal, relieving him.

"Kaz, calm down. The good news is; this is only a nightmare. None of it's real." assured Oliver.

"Thank Galvan Prime." prayed Kaz.

"The bad news, though, is if you die in this nightmare, you'll die in real life," added Oliver.

"What?!" shouted Kaz.

"Kaz, this is your dream. You have the power to do anything you think you can do. You just have to focus." advised Oliver.

"I can? (thinks before nodding) I know what I have to do." smiled Kaz before closing his eyes. The space below his head warped, changing his clothes.

"What is that going to do?" gawked Oliver, seeing Kaz wear a black version of Ben's outfit, black AF Omnitrix replacing his usual Dueltrix.

"It's more fitting for this scenario." smiled Kaz giddily, activating his Omnitrix. Just as he did, Vilgax slashed his cage apart.

"Hurry up Kaz!" warned Oliver.

"IT'S HERO TIME!" With a slap of the hand on his accessory, Kaz becomes coated in inverted light. Just as Vilgax takes a step, he becomes greeted by a barrage of diamond shards, pushing him back.

"DIAMONDHEAD!" shouted Kaz, resembling Diamondhead UAF except the eyes and Omnitrix symbol are black and—

"What's that gonna help with?" asked Oliver, looking at the black noir coat.

"It always helps to have a cool coat." chuckled Diamondhead, tugging the collar. Sighing tiredly, Oliver vanished right when Vilgax fired the Ruby Ray of Rouleau at the Petrosapien. Panicky, Diamondhead put his arms together and formed a crystal shield, deflecting the Ray. The hero grinned as adrenaline pumped through his version of veins, surprised that it actually worked.

"Looked yourself in the mirror lately?" joked Diamondhead, adjusting his shield and refracting the Ray to Vilgax's head, blinding him. Striking the opportunity, Diamondhead changed the shield into dual blades before charging at Vilgax, slashing across his chest. He's done this a dozen times or so until Vilgax recovered, grabbed his arm, and slammed the Petrosapien onto the ground before punching him with his free hand, breaking the arm off, and launching him to the other side of the ship. Grunting, Diamondhead held the stub as it regenerates, surges of pain shooting through it.

"Oliver! He's too powerful! Help me!" pleaded Diamondhead, seeing Vilgax stalk towards him.

"I can't. I'm not really here." sighed Oliver, appearing for a brief moment.

"You're right. I have to rely on myself." nodded Diamondhead. Once the limb grew back, he slapped the symbol on his chest, transforming again.

"SLAPBACK!" shouted Kaz, resembling Slapback except the green is replaced with black except for the skin, the usual black and white swapped, and is wearing the coat. Slamming his back onto the wall, he splits into two while cutting his size in half. While one clone is cracking his knuckles for a fight, the other is admiring his coat.

"Dude! I could use a hand here." scolded Slapback 1.

"Right. You got it, me." nodded Slapback 2. Both look at Vilgax before one runs low. Growling, the villain fires his eye lasers, only for the two to perform their namesakes, splitting to four. Two jumped while the others cupped their hands before catching a foot and launching the airborne Ekoplektoid clones. Rolling, the two then kicked at Vilgax's gut with all their might. The kicks pushed Vilgax backward, knocking him into the glass, miraculously not cracking it. Landing on it, all four of the Slapback clones run along with the glass, pelting Vilgax with kicks and punches before one clone takes his sword.

"Neat-o! (throws the sword into the air before catching) I wonder what this does?" questioned the armed clone. Annoyed, Vilgax activated the Shield of Seagle, letting the other clones bounce off before rushing at the armed one. Noticing, the clones raced toward their armed teammate.

"Kazimieras~ Lunason!" shouted the armed Slapback, running at Vilgax before swinging the Blade down onto the Shield. A flash of light, then shattering occurs, blinding the clones. When it dimmed, they looked back to see

"There can only be one!"

"WOOHOO!" cheered the clones, seeing the armed one standing over Vilgax's unconscious, smoking body. Eager, they gathered on the villain before fusing to two. Grinning, they held up the sword before looking at each other.

"That," smirked Slapback 1.

"Was," added Slapback 2.

(Reality)

"AWESOME!" screamed Kaz, waking up. Soon, Oliver was slowly getting up.

"Kaz is alive!" beamed Horace, watching the two climb out of their beds. "Well done!"

"Thanks for saving me, man." smiled Kaz, hugging Oliver.

"We got each other's backs, right?" smiled Oliver, pulling back.

"Great work, Oliver." praised Skylar, kissing his cheek.

"Thanks…" blushed Oliver. Playfully, Kaz looks at Kim, getting a dry stare.

"Don't even think about it."

"Before we start celebrating, we have a problem. Everyone's still asleep," noted NeoCortex. They looked around, horrified to realize he was right.

"Sorry. My party horn broke, Skylar's phone ran out of power, and this shoehorn makes no noise whatsoever," explained Horace, demonstrating the latter. "See?"

"We have to go into their nightmares and save them!" insisted Kaz.

"There's not enough time," frowned Kim.

"There's nothing we can do but hope for a miracle," prayed Oliver. As if the heavens heard him, the other staff members and patients in the room began to awaken, yawning tiredly.

"Are you religious or something, Oliver?" gawked Kim. Looking up at the skylight, Skylar hummed.

"The lunar eclipse must have ended," noted Skylar.

"The lunar eclipse must have been what was messing with my powers because I can read minds again." realized NeoCortex, turning on Kim to test it. After a moment of focusing, he gave her a look. "You changed your mind about the mist?"

"Considering that it almost killed everyone here, yeah." nodded Kim, taking the jar out of her pocket… and tossing it out the window.

"Seriously?" groaned Horace, going ignored.

"And besides, this little experience helped me remember something. (looks at teens) I shouldn't let my drive to make new friends blind me from my job. If I wasn't trying to find a way for Jordan to like me, maybe I could've prevented this from happening." sulked Kim.

"I know the feeling." sighed Skylar, remembering when the Annihilator destroyed most of her powers.

"Water under the bridge." Kaz waved off Kim's unspoken apology.

"With the eclipse out of the way, and the Testufungine being transported off-world, you kids are getting released early." decided Horace.

"WOOHOO!" cheered Kaz.

"Kaz, we can't go back home because of what we lied about." reminded Skylar.

"Ooh…" deflated Kaz.

"Don't worry, we can spend the night binge-watching Halloween movies in the rec room here," assured Oliver.

"The holiday, or the films with Michael Myers?" asked Kim for specification.

"The latter."

"OH YEAH! I'M GETTING THE POPCORN!" whooped Kaz, running out.

"You kids are lucky today's also a Friday, otherwise I'd had guards kick you out on a school night." glared Horace before leaving.

"I'll get the drinks… and the plushies for the huggers." sighed Kim, leaving. Seeing no one looking, Skylar slowly leads Oliver somewhere.

"Y'know Oliver, what you did back there was really heroic." smiled Skylar.

"Would it make it less heroic if I said that if I didn't go to the bathroom earlier, I would've peed my pants at the sight of Vilgax in there?" questioned Oliver.

"Save the story for later. For your heroism… and honesty, you deserve a reward," smirked Skylar seductively, Oliver noticing along with the closet in their path. As his alien girlfriend opens it, the doctor had one thing on his mind.

'Best. Halloween. Ever.'

Skoliver: *blushes* SERIOUSLY?! YOU END WITH US HAVING THAT IN THERE?!

Omarnosian10: Oh, don't act like the thought never crossed your mind!

*the couple blushes brighter*

Horace: Sadly, that wasn't the first time it was done there, and it won't likely be the last.

Kaz: Lucky bastard, getting laid off-screen. Why can't the same thing happen to me?

Kim: You're single in the main story, remember? And look at me, Jack and I are cities apart here and you don't hear me complaining.

Kaz: No, but I can hear you pouting.

Omarnosian10: Enough arguing! Is this how Erza feels like with Nutsu and Gray?

Oliver: Don't you mean Natsu?

Omarnosian10: Did I stutter? Good. Now, with the subplot obliterated, there will be a different post-credit scene. Goodbye everyone and we wish you a—

Everyone: Happy Halloween!

(Hours later)

"Are you kidding me?! OK, bye babe!" flirted Kim, hanging up while walking out of the rec room with Kaz and Horace.

"Was that Jack?" asked Kaz.

"The Ripper?!" gushed Horace.

"No, my boyfriend. (Horace pouts) He was telling me about what happened back home. Apparently, there was a gang of ghost pirates there." answered Kim.

"GHOST PIRATES?!" gawked Kaz.

"Oh yeah, that reminds me, Leo called earlier and asked for help about a 'cursed skull'," remembered Horace.

"Sounds like we weren't the only ones with an eventful Halloween." laughed Kaz while they passed a closet… before backtracking at the noise coming from it. "Don't tell me we have more Sporetoise coming through?!"

"No, they were transported without issue," answered Horace, tapping his ear… before groaning. "Not again…"

"What again?" parroted Kaz. Horace ignored him, tapping his comm.

"Housekeeping, we got another code Siren on floor 335." ordered the elder.

"Siren? Isn't she that superhero that… screams…" trailed Kaz, he and Kim reaching an epiphany.

"Come to think of it, Oliver and Skylar never came in during the marathon." realized Kim.

"And that started hours ago…" finished Kaz. They had only one thing to say…

"IS OLIVER EVEN HUMAN?!"
