Location: Françoise Dupont High School
Riku looked up at the large school in front of him with a dark blue bag around his shoulder and he sighed in annoyance.
"Why did it have to be school?" He said to himself.
"Come on Juleka, We're gonna be late!" Riku turned his head and saw a short girl with blonde pixie cut and sapphire blue eyes pulling the hand of another girl about his height with long black hair with a single long bang that covered her the left side of her face. Riku saw the mouth of the tall girl move, but she was too quiet for him to hear her. He watched as the two entered the building and he smiled a bit.
"They both seem close and they're both radiating a strong light. Maybe Master Fu put me here for a reason other than wanting me to get an education." He said with a chuckle. With that, Riku walked upstairs and entered the school. Upon entering her looked around and honestly it wasn't what he was expecting.
"An inside Courtyard?" He said to himself looking around. The silver haired boy was overwhelmed by the amount of students in the courtyard, he wasn't used to being around this many people but he knew he had to shake it off. "Calm yourself Riku, you've handled worse than a bunch of other teens before." He said to himself. The boy then reached into his bag and took out the folder Master Fu gave.
"Let's see, my homeroom teacher is...Caline Bustier. Second floor, huh?" Riku said as he looked at the stairs leading to the second floor and began walking towards them. "Alright, let's get this over-OOF!" Riku grunted as someone had run into him.
"Ow!" The silver haired boy looked down and a girl a tad bit shorter than him on the ground and rubbing her head. "Hey, you ok?" He said, offering a hand to the girl.
"Oh uh yea I'm fine, Thank you and sorry." She said, taking Riku's hand. Riku pulled the girl up and finally got a good look at her. She had medium blue hair tied in twin-tails, bluebell eyes and light freckles on her face. "Again thank...you…" The girl trailed off as her eyes went wide. Riku took notice of this and raised an eyebrow.
"You ok, you didn't fall too hard I hope." He said in concern. The girl didn't answer as a million questions were flooding her mind.
"W.. w.. What's Riku doing here!? Master Fu didn't tell me that he was going to be here! Is he joining our school!? Does he Know I'm Ladybug!? Did Master Fu Tell him!?" All these questions filled her head and Riku was getting more concerned.
"Hello, is anyone there?" He asked, waving his hand in front of the girl. The girl finally came to her senses and shook her head.
"Oh.. um right, Sorry! I didn't mean to stare!" She spazzed. Riku was more confused, but he decided to let it slide.
"It's fine, don't worry about it. Are you alright?" He asked the girl again.
"Uh yeah, I'm ok. I really need to watch where I'm going. Are you new here? Of course you're new here, I've never seen you before! Nope, not ever." She said with a sheepish smile. Riku waited until the girl finished spazzing and spoke up again.
"No you're fine and yes I'm new here. I just transferred from my old school back in America." Riku explained using the cover story Master Fu gave him. Marinette knew he was lying since Riku told her his true origin yesterday, but she decided to play along for her secret identity's sake.
"America! That's so cool, it must be weird being so far away from home, huh?" Marinette asked. Riku just shrugged his shoulders.
"Not really, I'm used to traveling actually. My Parents always liked taking me to different places, they just decided that Paris would be a great place for us to settle down for a while." Riku explained. He hated when he had to extend a lie for a long term stay, but he really had no choice. Marinette understood why he was telling her this story, Tikki did explain that Keyblade Wielders must keep their secrets.
"That's amazing, I wish I could travel around the world. Paris is great, but I just-" "Wanna see what the rest of the world has to offer." Marinette's eyes widened, shocked that Riku finished her sentence. Riku smiled at the girl's reaction. "I used to have the same dream, I wanted to see what was beyond my home and I got my wish." Riku then frowned a bit. "But I went about it the wrong way at first." He said looking down. Marinette saw the frown on his face and she began to worry.
"Hey, are you ok?" She asked in concern. Riku looked back up at the girl and nodded.
"Yea it's nothing, sorry." He said with a small bow.
"Oh no, it's fine. Oh, I never introduced myself!" Marinette then outstretched her hand. "I'm Marrinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, nice to meet you." She said with a bright smile. Riku smiled as well and took Marinette's hand.
"Nice name, I'm Riku Kurayami." He said, shaking her hand.
"Pleasure to meet you, Riku." Marinette said with a bright smile. Riku nodded and ended the handshake.
"Pleasure is mine. So tell me, does this place have anything interesting to offer?" He asked.
"Oh plenty to do here: fencing, archery, art, basketball, anything really. Trust me you'll love it!" Marinette explained.
"I have no doubt I will." Riku said.
RIIIINNNNGG!
"OH NO! I'm gonna be late! It was nice meeting you Riku, see you later!" With that Marinette then ran off again. Riku watched as the girl ran to her class and he chuckled.
"Weird girl, but she's got a very positive aura around her. I wonder if everyone around here is as interesting." He said as he began walking to his own classroom.
"Excuse me, are you Riku?" The Silver haired boy stopped in his tracks and turned around to see an older woman with remillion hair and cyan eyes like his.
With Marinette
Marinnete was running to her class hoping not to be late on her first day of the new semester.
"Well that was unexpected, who would have thought we would see Riku today?" Tikki said from inside Marinette's purse.
"That certainly was a surprise, you'd think the Master would have told us about this. Then again, Riku has to fit in when he goes into a new world so I guess this is the best way to do so." Marinette said with a hand on her chin.
"I think this is actually a great way for you to get to know him better in civilian form. While you're Ladybug it's all business, but as Marinette you could show him how to fit in better." Tikki said in an excited tone. Marinette thought about this but she was interrupted by a voice calling out to her.
"Well, look who's finally on time." Marinette looked up to saee Alya waving to her. "Oh Morning Alya!" She said waving back to her.
"Good to see you early for once, come on we got new seats." Alya said, wrapping her arm around Marinette. Marinette raised an eyebrow only for her eyes to widen and see that everyone's seats had moved around and Adrien was in the front right section and Nino sitting behind him.
"Oh my gosh!" She said before pulling Alya away from the classroom entrance. "How did you pull this off, you gave me a chance to sit next to Adrien! Wait, I have to sit next to Adrien! What am I gonna do, what am I gonna say? If I act so ridiculous around him, how are me and him supposed to work together?" Marinette continued to spazz for a good minute before Alya put her hand over her best friend's mouth.
"Easy there girl, the seat swap wasn't my idea. Ms. Bustire said that seats were optional this time around. I'm sitting next to Nino and sorry to break the news to you but someone has already claimed the seat next to Adrien." Alya explained. Marinette raised an eyebrow at this, when she looked in the classroom she saw that everyone but Adrien had someone sitting next to them.
"Wait, then who-" "Girls get in here, class is gonna start soon." Nino said from inside the classroom. Marinette and Alya jumped and walked back into the room, Alya went to sit next to Nino while Marinette decided to sit in one of the only two seats left and they were all the way in the back in the left section.
"Oh well, it's not all that bad. At least I got a nice view from the window." Marinette sighed as she sat down at the window seat. After a few minutes, Marinette had gotten a bit comfortable in her new seat. Rose and Juleka were in the desks on the right side next to her so she had two of her best girlfriends to chat with if she wanted. Alya and Nino were a bit away from her, but they would send her smiles and waves whenever they could and that made Marinette happy. That happiness was nice but she still felt sad that she was so far from Adrien and the fact that she couldn't see his face really brought her down a bit.
"It'll be ok Marinette." Marinette looked down at her purse and saw her Kwamii smiling at her.
"Yea you're right, this year is gonna be great." She whispered. Just as Marinette made that declaration, the door to the class opened. She had expected her teacher, but she saw the one person she really didn't want to see….Lila
"Good Morning Everyone." Lila said with a 'Sweet' smile. Marinette was speechless. She knew Lila was still in Paris because of the Heroes Day attack but she didn't expect her to return to school so soon.
"Hey there Lila, Welcome back." Nino said, smiling at the girl.
"Yea it's been a long time, did you have fun traveling?" Alya asked curiously.
"Oh it was amazing, being in New York was the best part though. So many amazing restaurants, theaters, and people. It was amazing." Lila said. Everyone in class except for Adrien, Chloe and Marinette stared at her in awe. Lila then looked to her seat next to Adrien.
"Oh Alya, thank you for keeping my seat open for me. I really appreciate it." She said in a sweet tone before walking over to her seat.
"Oh it's not a problem, I know you have a hearing problem so I knew you would have to sit in the front." Alya said with a smile. Marinette couldn't believe what she was hearing, Alya was saving the seat for Lila because of an obvious lie she told her. Lila then turned to Adrien who just gave the girl an awkward smile.
"I'm so glad to see you again Adrien and I hope you can help me catch up on what I missed while I was gone." She said to the blonde. Adrien scooted a bit away from Lila but kept his smile.
"Uh, yea sure...no problem." He said in a hesitant tone. Marinette couldn't watch this any longer and quickly stood up, but before she could walk down and confront Lila…
"Good Morning kids!" said with a cheerful tone. Marinette and the class gave the teacher their attention and Marinette sat back down with a frown on her face.
"Good Morning Ma'am." The class said in unison.
"I'm happy to see all of you back for the new semester and I'm happy to welcome Lila back to class as well." said as she gestured to the brunette who waved to the class.
"Now before we get started, I have a small announcement. We have a new exchange student joining us for the year. He's a young man from New York, so I hope you all will get along with him." She said as Everyone in class wondered who this new student was and what he was like. Marinette's eyes widened as she had a strong feeling about who this new student was and she both felt excited and scared.
"You may come in." said, facing the door. A few seconds passed and the door opened to reveal a tall boy with short silver hair, Cyan eyes and a neutral expression on his face. Adrien, Alya, Nino and Chloe all widened their eyes as they saw the boy from the Heroes Day attack.
"Riku! What's he doing here!?" Adrien thought to himself.
"That's the guy who helped us fight Hawkmoth...I think his name is… Riku?" Alya thought as she looked over the boy. Nino and Chloe had the same thoughts and questions but decided not to voice them. Marinette just stared at the Keyblade wielder and she sighed.
"Well… this just got more complicated." She thought. Lila could only stare at the silver haired boy in shock and she didn't show it on the outside but on the inside she was fuming.
"What the hell is he doing here!?" She thought angrily.
"Everyone, this is Riku Kurayami." said, placing a hand on Riku's shoulder. Riku looked around at all the students that were staring at him and he was getting a tad nervous but he took a breath and spoke up.
"Hey, nice to meet you all." He said with a small bow.
The class all had differing opinions of him: Kim wanted to know if he was athletic, Juleka and Rose were in awe at his choice in clothing. Max, Nathaniel and Alix thought his voice was cool and quiet. Chloe just thought he was another idiot in the class while Sabrina stared at Riku with interest. Ivan and Mylene both thought of Luka when they saw Riku. Alya and Nino both thought the boy would be a nice addition to the class and a good chance to get to know the new Hero of Paris. Adrien was excited to have Riku join his class, not only will he be working with him as Chat but now he can hangout with him in civilian form as well. Lila was still seething on the inside, but kept her 'sweet' smile on her face. Marinette could only smile at the silver haired boy and his simple introduction.
"Alright, does anyone have any questions for Riku before we get started?" asked the class. Many hands shot into the air. "Go ahead and pick someone Riku." said. Riku nodded and looked around the class and pointed at Alix who smiled as she saw she was chosen.
"Your last name Kurayami is Japanese right, does it have a meaning?" She asked. Riku was actually surprised by this question, no one ever asked about his last name before.
"Actually yes it is and it means Dark Night." He answered. The class except for Chloe and Lila actually thought that was cool.
"Ooooh, We have a Dark Knight in the class!" Nino said with a fist pump. Riku chuckled at the statement.
"No no, I mean Night as in the Night Sky." He explained. Nino nodded at the explanation, but he still thought it was cool. Riku then pointed at Juleka.
"Um… Where did you get your clothes from?" She asked quietly.
"Oh I got these from three good friends of mine back home. They have a knack for making great clothing." Riku said, remembering the three good fairies. Marinette was curious about this and wondered if she could get some tips from these friends of Riku. Riku then pointed to Kim who in turn stood up and pointed back.
"You and Me, three laps around the school after classes end today!" He said, declaring his challenge. Riku just stared at Kim with wide eyes while the rest of the class just groaned.
"Seriously Kim, he just got here! Give him a week to get to know us all at least!" Alix yelled. Kim was about to argue back, but Riku spoke up first.
"No no it's fine, I accept." Riku said with a cocky smile. The class looked at Riku with wide eyes, but Kim quickly composed himself and smiled back.
"Awesome!" He cheered before sitting down again. Riku chuckled again, Kim sorta reminded him of Sora when they were younger.
"Alright kids, I think that's enough for now." said before turning to Riku.
"Riku, the only seat I see right now is next to Marinette in the back. Are you ok with that?" She asked. Riku looked over to see the Marinette in the back and gave a nervous wave.
"Sure, I have no problem with that." He said before walking over to his seat. Upon reaching Marinette, Riku placed his bag onto the floor, sat down and looked at the girl. "Didn't expect to see you again so soon." He said with a small smile. Marinette giggled a bit and nodded.
"Yea, I didn't think you would be in my class." Marinette said with a warm smile on her face.
"Just lucky I guess." Riku said with a shrug.
"Now kids, go ahead and open your textbooks to 23. Riku since you don't have a textbook yet, you and Marinette can share hers." said. Riku and Marinette nodded and the latter pulled out a small tablet.
"Hope you don't mind." She said placing the tablet between them.
"Nah it's fine." With that, began her lesson. As class was going on, Lila had taken some quick glances at Riku and she was not happy.
"Why is he here, isn't he a hero!? This is bad, I need to come up with an excuse if he decided to out me for Heroes Day." She thought to herself. Alya and Nino took some glances at Riku too both because they were interested in the new Hero and to see how Marinette was getting along with him.
"So, what is your take on the guy?" Nino Whispered. Alya looked over the silver haired boy again and then turned back to Nino.
"Well, since he helped us out against Hawkmoth back on Heroes Day, he can't be that bad. Plus, it looks like Marinette is already taking a liking to the guy." She said,
"True, but do you think it's a good idea for him to be here? He doesn't have a secret identity and I doubt he's gonna sit on the sidelines if Ladybug and Chat Noir are fighting another one of Hawkmoth's Akuma." Nino said in a worried tone.
"That's not our call and honestly I don't think it's Ladybug or Chat Noir's either. I think he might be working independently in another matter altogether and I think helping our two heroes is just a side gig." Alya theorized. Nino thought about this for a minute and nodded.
"That does explain why he wasn't with us when we first grouped up against Hawkmoth's army and from what I could tell he doesn't have a Miraculous." He said putting a hand to his chin.
"So the big Questions surrounding our new classmate are: Who is he, where did he get his powers and why is he in Paris?" Alya listed off.
"ALYA, NINO!" The couple both jumped and looked at who had a disappointed look on her face.
"I hope my lesson isn't interrupting your conversation." She said, Alya and Nino both shook their heads. "Good, now please pay attention." The teacher said before leaning against her desk.
"Yes Ma'am." The couple said. Riku couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the scene,it reminded him of how he and Sora would always get into trouble back when they were in school.
"Something funny?" Marinette whispered.
"Nah, just nostalgia. My best friend and I would sometimes cause trouble and those two getting lectured brought back some memories." Riku said with a small smile.
"Oh really, so you're a troublemaker huh?" Marinette teased. Riku snickered.
"I've done my best to grow out of it. Now instead of causing trouble, it always tends to find me somehow." He said. Marinette giggled again.
"Believe me, I know that feeling all too well." She said, Riku chuckled.
"Nice to know I'm not alone." He said. The two looked at each other and smiled.
"Guess we have something in common, huh?" Riku asked, causing Marinette to giggle again.
"AHEM!" Riku and Marinette jumped and looked up to see tapping her foot impatiently.
"Riku since this is your first day I'll let you off easy, but Marinette I expect better from our class president. Marinette shrunk in her seat with a worried look on her face.
"It's not her fault." Marinette looked at Riku with wide eyes. "I was asking her if there were any good clubs around here and she was giving me some good suggestions. I didn't mean to get her in trouble." He said. Marinette continued to stare at Riku while slowly began to smile.
"Well, Marinette is always one to help out others. I'll look past it this time, for now, please pay attention." She said,
"Yes Ma'am, sorry." Riku said with a small bow. He then turned to Marinette and smirked at her.
"Consider that payback for bumping into me." He said with a chuckle. Marinette did everything in her power not to laugh.
"I guess you got me, thanks." She said,
"No problem." Riku said. The two then finally turned their attention to and her lesson.
Location: Agreste Manor
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T TELL ME ABOUT THE BOY!?" Gabriel yelled as Nooroo flinched away.
"A-As I said Master, I'm not allowed to. It's taboo for us to discuss the job of Keyblade Wielders, unless you know one personally or you know someone with the knowledge that he knows it's forbidden." Nooroo Explained. Gabriel seethed at this information, Nooroo knew about the silver haired boy but he actually couldn't talk about him.
"What can you tell me?' He asked. Nooroo gulped and began to speak.
"All I can say is that Keyblade Wielders are ancient warriors that fight against the darkness of the world. They are very powerful." Nooroo said. Gabriel groaned at the lack of information.
"How does one acquire a Keyblade?" He asked.
"I'm sorry Master, I don't know. All I can say is that a strong heart is required." Nooroo answered. Gabriel just pinched the bridge of his nose.
"This is ridiculous, Ladybug and Chat Noir were bad enough but now we have this boy with powers even I can't fathom! I need a way to end him before he starts truly getting in my way." Gabriel said with a growl. Unbeknownst to Gabriel and Nooroo, a Dark portal was open above them and a shadowy figure was watching them with a dark smile.
Time Skip, Location: School Cafeteria
Riku and Marinette had become fast friends since their being partnered in class and Riku quickly noticed that Marinette was a bit of a klutz. She would sometimes trip over her words, she kept dropping her school supplies and just now she almost fell down the stairs as they were switching classes, lucky for her Riku caught her arm before she fell.
"You really are accident prone, aren't you?" Riku asked as he and Marinette arrived in the cafeteria. Marinette pouted at the Keyblade Wielders comment.
"I'm not that accident prone, I'm just.." "Klutzy." Riku said, finishing the girl's sentence.
"Exactly!...HEY!" Marinette yelled as Riku laughed at her reaction.
"You set me up for it, that's your fault." Riku said through his laughter. Marinette pouted again and crossed her arms which only caused Riku to laugh harder.
"Wow Marinette, he's only been here a few hours and he's already comfortable with you." Marinette and Riku turned around to see Alya, Nino and Adrien walking up to them with smiles on their faces.
"Oh hey guys!" Marinette said in a cheerful tone.
"Sup dudette I see you and the newbie are getting along just fine." Nino said, giving the two a thumbs up. Marinette and Riku looked at one another and chuckled.
"Yea I guess you can say that." Marinette said. Adrien then spoke up.
"I wouldn't expect any less from you Marinette, you always make everyone feel welcome." He said smiling at the class president. Marinnete began to blush and giggle nervously.
"I-Uh Thank you Adrien, I love-Appreciate it!" She said in an awkward tone. Riku watched the scene with a raised eyebrow and he knew right away that Marinette had a crush on the blonde in front of him. Alya and Nino both shook their heads and the former spoke up.
"So Mari, you wanna introduce us or are we gonna have to do it." Alya said with a smirk. Marinette blinked a few times and composed herself.
"Oh yea, of course!" She then turned to Riku.
"Riku, these are my pals from class. You should recognize a few of them." Marinette then walked over to Alya and wrapped her arm around hers.
"This is my best friend Alya, she a-" "Reporter and the creator of the LadyBlog." Riku said cutting Marinette off. Alya stared at the silver haired boy with shock in her eyes.
"You know me?" She asked in confusion.
"I arrived here on Heroes Day and afterwards I wanted to know more about Paris and the stuff that was going down that day. Lucky for me, I came across the LadyBlog and it was very informative. You've done a great job with it." Riku complimented. Alya's shock was replaced with pride and she puffed out her chest.
"Well Thank you, I do my best to make sure that my blog helps us understand our city's heroes and the villains that threaten it." She said. Marinette, Nino and Adrien couldn't help but chuckle at the reporter.
"That's my girl, she really is a hard worker." Nino said as he walked up to Riku. "Nino's the name, DJ extraordinaire! Nice to meet ya dude!" He said holding a fist up to Riku. Riku smiled at the boy in front of him and he bumped his fist with Nino's.
"You too man, I've seen you in a few of Alya's videos." He said recognizing Nino. Nino smiled at being recognized by the Keyblade Wielder. Riku's eyes then landed on the blonde boy that Marinette liked. "I don't believe I know you though." He said, gesturing to the blonde. Alya and Nino's eyes widened at this, usually their Sunshine boy didn't have to introduce himself to anyone due to him being the face of the Agreste Brand. Marinette and Adrien kept composed though since they knew Riku wasn't from this world.
"I'm Adrien. Adrien Agreste, Pleasure to meet you Riku." He said holding his hand out to the silver haired boy. Riku quickly took his hand and shook it.
"Pleasure is mine and good luck." He said with a smirk. Adrien cocked an eyebrow at the Keyblade Wielder.
"What do you mean?" He asked obliviously. Riku was confused now and looked to Alya and Nino who looked disappointed while Marinette was just staring at the boy with a love struck smile on her face.
"Oh…. I get it now. He has no idea, does he?" Riku thought to himself. Alya quickly went up to the two boys and spoke up.
"Hey Riku, since you and Marinette have become fast friends, Would you like to join us for lunch?" She said with a smile. Riku knew that this subject was meant to be talked about without Adrien near.
"Sure, I am hungry." The Warrior of the Dawn said winking at Alya. Alya sighed silently knowing Riku understood.
"Hey Sunshine, you grab a table for us and we'll grab you a tray of food." She said to Adrien. The model nodded and walked off not noticing that Marinette was watching him the whole time. Riku, Alya and Nino watched on with amused looks on their faces.
"Wow, she has it bad." Riku commented.
"You have no idea dude." Nino said with a chuckle.
"Our girl loves that boy, but she's too shy to confess and Sunshine is completely oblivious to her feelings." Alya explained with a shake of her head. Riku didn't know too much about love or romantic relationships, but he could tell Marinette really cared about Adrien and he smiled at that fact.
"My lips are sealed." He said with a thumbs up. Alya and Nino smiled back at Riku and the former walked up to her best friend.
"Alright girl, let's go get some food." Alya said, leading Marinette to the lunch line. Nino and Riku followed after them and didn't notice that Lila was watching the two with narrowed eyes.
"Great, now not only is he a hero but now he's close to Adrien and his friends. This guy is literally getting in my way and I doubt he even realizes it." She said to herself. Lila then thought back to when she fought Riku on Heroes Day. Miraculous cure or not, she could still feel the pain of being slash by Riku's Keyblade and it angered her. "I'll get you back for that!" She threatened.
A/N: Took me long enough right guys lol! We are back now, Riku has finally met our Heroes out of costume and he's getting along with them pretty fast. Gabriel is about to have an unexpected visitor and Lila is already plotting revenge against Riku. How will it all turn out and how will Riku, Ladybug and Chat Noir handle it? Find Out Next time!
