CH 06 Insecurities
The next morning, The sun was shining which is a rare sight in Snezhnaya usually its cloudy and the snow fall sometimes feels like it's never ending, it was a bright day full of promise...
"Seems like the skies are all clear now" said the redhead with a big smile as he opened the door, he then took a big whiff "Ah nothing better than the smell of the morning air here in Snezhnaya, I missed this, I really can't wait for everyone to meet you girlie!"
Lumine smiled at his comments as they left the cabin, as soon as they close the door behind them, his communicator started shining
"I wonder who could this be?" said Tartaglia
A voice of a woman was heard, she seemed very exalted
"AJAX WHERE ARE YOU?! OLEZKA TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED ARE YOU OKAY?"
Tartaglia responded trying to calm the woman down
"Sylvana lower your voice I can hear you perfectly fine, don't worry we are fine"
His sister with an air of relief responded to the young redheaded man
"Than...Thank goodness, I told Olezka to go and find you but apparently Mishka told him you were on a mission with that... Traveler"
Tartaglia a bit annoyed at the way he referred to the blonde said
"Her name is Lumine..."
"LUMINE!" a high pitched voice interrupted the woman
"LUMINE! LUMINE! PAIMON IS WORRIED ABOUT YOU!" Paimon said as she was really concern about her friend
Tartaglia passed the communicator to Lumine "I think the little one wants to talk to you girlie"
Lumine smiled "Hey Paimon! Don't worry we are fine we are on-"
A voice of a small voice interrupted the blonde "IS THAT THE NICE LADY? HEYYYY! IT'S ME TEUCER! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?! YOU PROMISED TO VISIT ME! I can't believe you and big brother Ajax came to Snezhnaya and didn't come home first!"
Tartaglia happy to hear his little brother responded with excitement "Hey Teucer, don't worry we are on our way. Me and the nice lady had to go on a special mission to bring some toys to some very needy children, but do not worry your big brother succeeded on his mission"
Teucer wanted to keep talking but he was pushed by a young girl "Is that my knight?! Big brother! I am so glad you are okay, are you coming home?"
Tartaglia started laugh "Yes it is I your fateful knight! Don't worry Tonya we are on our way"
Tonia responded "You better be! I-"
The young girl was interrupted by another child
"Big brother Ajax! did you brought that book from Liyue that I asked you about?"
Tartaglia responded "Of course! what kind of big brother would I be if I didn't kept my promises? Don't worry Anthon your book is here with me! Okay everyone I am going to hang up now, we will be there soon!" before anyone else could talk he ended the communication, he shrugged.
"GEEZ everyone needs to calm down we are on our way, get ready girlie because my family is quite chaotic!"
Lumine couldn't help but to lightly laugh and smile "It's quite sweet actually... Me and Aether... We never met our parents, it has always been us we somehow managed to survive and explore different worlds, it's all we have ever known... So it's nice to see what an actual family is like..."
Before she could start crying, Tartaglia holds her as tight as he could "From now on my family is your family as well, I promise they will welcome you with open arms and if they don't... I will convince them" he kisses her forehead
"Thank you... By the way, why did they called you Ajax? I also heard Teucer call you that once"
he smiled "Well you see... That is my real name, Childe and Tartaglia were given to me by the Tsaritsa as code names, you may call me by that name if you like"
Lumine wondered "You don't mind?"
He chuckled " Of course not, you are very special to me girlie. One day you're going to become my wife someday! so.."
Before he could say anything else Lumine interrupted
"Who said anything about getting married?! You really need to slow down, we barely confessed our feelings last night and here you are talking about marriage..."
The redhead responded "Well that is a new goal of mine you know... To make you my wife someday. What? would you rather me wanting to be in a blood bath rather than me wanting for us to get married? Geez girlie... I didn't know you like that"
"Shut up! you're such an idiot!" Lumine barked
"But I am your idiot" said the redhead lovingly "well you can at least say we are a couple right?"
"Of course... I think so..." Lumine said shyly with a smile on her face
Adamant and proudly the redhead responded "YES WE ARE! if anyone tries to flirt with you ill end their meaningless existence, I would love to see any fool try..."
"Calm down, Ajax. Anyways let's get going" said Lumine
"Wait" the redhead said, he then continued to grab her and kiss her
Lumine surprised softly pushes him away "What's that for?"
He smiles at her reaction and says "I just can't keep my hands away from you, you're beautiful and those golden eyes have me mesmerized. Lumi I love you and I will say it a million times, hell I will shout it to the world how much I love you, how special you are to me..."
She softly hits him "Stop you don't need to be so intense all the time, I feel the same way Ajax, you don't need to prove to me how you feel anymore. Your actions speak louder than your words, seriously... You always take it to 100 and even beyond that..."
"Well girlie this is your punishment for falling in love with a problematic guy like me, I did warned you I was kind of a bad guy" He said as he winked at Lumine
They both laugh As they kept walking. All of the sudden they saw a flashy red vehicle heading rapidly towards them, it came to a complete stop a few inches from them. A tall and blonde woman with heavy makeup came out of the car. She fixed her hair, got out her compact mirror and applied some lip gloss. She then noticed that both Lumine and Tartaglia were standing right in front of her.
She rolled her eyes as she closed her compact mirror "Ugh there you are... I was wondering how long I was going to keep patrolling this dump until I found you two"
"Patricia?" Said Tartaglia surprisingly "What are you doing here?"
Patricia rolled her eyes once again "Ugh! Listen... Fatui prince... You know Sylvana is my best friend and I would do anything for her, so she asked me this favor and she knows I can never say no to those eyes, so I am doing this for her not you! Anyways get on! I am taking you to Morepesok, I have a few errands there anyways so..."
He asked "How was yesterdays work?"
Confused by his question she responded "Wha-" but then she remembered "Oh that's right... The little backwater place... No worries my team is taking care of it, the owner is quite cooperative, not a single peep from him... I love that, don't worry everything is being taken care of. I am working on a flawless business plan that will bring everyone in Snezhnaya, trust me this place is going to be the next Sverkat'..."
Tartaglia pleased by the answer responded "It better be because I am paying you good Mora for that"
Lumine curious interrupted their conversation "What's that?"
"Of course... I am the great Patricia Bershka after all... Everything is under control." She replied to Ajax and then she looked at Lumine and replied in a mocking and demeaning way "To answer your question little girl... Sverkat' was only the best place in Snezhnaya! Only the high society and important figures visited that place, but I doubt you have any idea what a high end place is, I bet you don't even know what a Kamchatka is..."
Tartaglia annoyed by the way she replied to Lumine he was going to say something but was soon interrupted by Patricia
"I AM TALKING HERE... Ugh, This proves mora can't buy class... Anyways, where was I? Ah yes Sverkat' sadly the owner of that restaurant committed suicide two years ago and the daughter took over the place but due to poor decisions it met it's demise... It's a shame really..." She right away changed subject
"Anyways enough of tragedies! let's go" Said the pompous blonde woman as they headed off
The car ride was silent the first two hours until Lumine broke the ice "So... How much longer?"
Tartaglia slightly smiled "Don't worry girlie we will be there in around... 30 minutes or so"
"Don't lie to her... We still have an hour so to go, little girl" said Patricia as she grinned
"Must you always be so rude?" Said Tartaglia as he shrugged
The blonde woman then scuffed and said "Excuse me? how am I rude? I mean look at her she looks like a child. I don't know what you see in her, no offense dear but you clearly don't have anything special you may be older but you clearly look like a plank with no personality."
Lumine just sighed but didn't care about the rude remarks, she was in a way use to them. From the people in Mondstadt to the people in Liyue, they always perceived her as someone younger, she chuckles as she remembers one time in Mondstadt when she was drinking with Venti. When Diluc saw them, he started reprimanding him for making her drink until she explained everything. This wasn't new to her, she just listened to the pompous blonde woman's insults. But Tartaglia on the other hand...
The redhead in a more serious and rude tone said "Listen, offend me all you want, mock my taste in women but I am not going to allow you to offend my girlfriend. Do you really want me as your enemy?"
"Oh excuse me Mr. Fatui prince..."
She realized what he said "wait? what?! your girlfriend?!"
Patricia all of the sudden started laughing "Oh wow this is rich! Wait till Sylvana finds out... I can't wait for this dumpster fire to ignite" she said as she kept laughing she then abruptly stopped "Well whatever..." she said as she fixed her rear view mirror
The rest of the car ride remained silent until they arrived to the village.
Morepesok is a small but important village one of the main harbors in Snezhnaya, although its appearance may seem of a small and humble village but they are one of the main exporters of firewater and Krovavo, Snezhnaya's most iconic beverages.
"Here we are..." said Patricia gleefully as she knew the mess that
"Aren't you going to leave" Tartaglia said in an uninviting tone, wanting her to leave.
"Hell no! I want to see the look on my best friend's face when she she finds out this insignificant girl is the girl her dear little brother is bragging about" she said as she got off the red vehicle. She put some red lip gloss on and said "Let's get this dumpster fire started!"
"ugh" replied the redhead as they kept walking towards his place.
They started approaching the residence, Lumine was a bit nervous as the words that Patricia said to her are finally starting to sink in, she wonders.
("What if they really don't like me? what if her older siblings think I am not good enough? I really don't want him to pick either me or his family... It's the last thing I want... I just hope they see that I do care about him..")
The redhead noticed how flustered and nervous the golden eyed blonde was, he held her hand and assured her
"Don't worry they are all going to love you..."
Lumine looked at him and smiled "As long as I am with you, I can take anything..."
Before she knew it they were in front of the door...
