When Sebastian placed the top card of his deck into his hand he oculdn't help but smile. 'I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Sylvia inviting me.' He thought.
He had never been the most sociable type.
He usually just sat quietly in the background. He had a few friends, but not that many. Which he was fine with. Then one day his life changed when Sylvia Kellens walked up to him in class.
At the time Sebastian had no clue what was going on. He was sure he and Sylvia never interacted before. Yet she was coming up and speaking to him like they were friends. Which made his anxiety with the entire situation skyrocket.
Things got even weirder for him when Sylvia challenged him to a cardfight out of the blue.
And with the way she said it Sebastian felt that if he refused things would turn scary. So he took the match.
Then promptly got defeated.
He was at a loss about what just happened. But then Sylvia explained things to him.
She was forming her own team for the recently revealed Vanguard World Tournament, and she wanted him to be on it.
Sebastian was left speechless.
But Sylvia just kept on talking anyway. Saying how she noticed his vanguard, and how he took such good care of it during some of their breaks between classes. That's why she wanted to fight him, and her senses were spot on. It's when she made the decision to ask him to apart of her team.
At first Sebastian was reluctant to join.
But as he spent more time with Sylvia and the others he warmed up to them, and through all that he is here at this moment.
"Which is why no matter what, I can't lose." Sebastian murmured, reminiscing about how he made it to this point. "So here I go. I ride. Ancient Dragon, Tyranonexus!"

"The skill of Souei." Eric placed Souei at rest. "For every card in the opponent's bind zone, all my units in the front row gain +1000 power for each. Since there are two, they all gain an extra +2000 power. With a boost from the Chigeregumo on the left, Shikui will attack your vanguard. And with his skill he gains another +4000 power."

"You'll see me launch a counterattack." Sebastian spoke. "Generation Stride! Super Ancient Dragon, Burn Geryon!"

"Stride skill!" Sebastian counter blasted one card and then sent Pterakid to the drop zone. "I send one of my rear-guards to the drop zone, then my opponent must discard a card from their hand."
Eric sent one of his cards in his hand to the drop zone.
"In addition to that I can look at the top five cards of my deck and superior call one unit to the board." Sebastian looked at the top five cards and called one unit. "I call. Ancient Dragon, Hylaeon Pike. Also, the skill of the Pterakid I just placed in the drop zone." Sebastian counter blasted one card. "I can look at the top three cards of my deck, and superior call one unit with "Ancient Dragon '' in its name to the board. I call. Ancient Dragon, Iguanogorg. Then the skill of Burn Geryon." Sebastian counter blasted one card. "Select one rear-guard unit on the board and they obtain a skill. The unit I chose is Iguanogorg. I then call. Ancient Dragon, Dinocrowd. Then with a boost from Iguanogorg. Hylaeon Pike will attack your vanguard."

Sitting in the waiting area for his team Anthony used a finger to adjust his glasses. "That was close. If Eric hadn't drawn that damage trigger when he did he would've been worse off for sure."
"Yeah." Elizabeth muttered in agreement.
Observing the match in the waiting area for her team Sylvia released a sigh. "So close, yet so far." She mused.
Lucian nodded in agreement.
"But, if Sebastian can survive this coming turn, then he'll be able to turn things around," Sylvia said.
Lucian nodded in agreement once again.
Eric placed a card into his drop zone. "I think it's time for this match to end," he mused. "Liberating the generation zone, generation stride. Rikudo Stealth Dragon, Sezemarikan."

He then looked at the top three cards of his deck and added a unit to his hand. "I call. Chigeregumo. Activating his skill." Eric soul blasted one card. "Once again I will look at the top three cards of me deck and if any have the "Afterimage" ability I can call one of them to the field." Eric looked at the top three cards of his deck and called one to the board. "I call. Kegareshinmyo. Kegareshinmyo's skill. I add +3000 power to the Chigeregumo on the right. Then with a boost from Chigeregumo on the right, Kegareshinmyo will attack your vanguard."

"Oh my Sebasican has called his full hand, meaning he's going for the win!" Cecilia exclaimed into her mike.
"That's the truth," Sebastican murmured. "Voclap Decimator, attack the vanguard! Activating his skill." Sebastian counter blasted one card, and flipped over a copy of Voclap in the G zone. "I retire two rear-guard units. The units are Pleseotrooper and Igaunogorg." Sebastican sent those two units to the drop zone. "Now because of that my opponent must discard two cards from their hand. In addition, Voclap gains an additional +10000 power and an additional drive check this turn!"
"Oh what an amazing skill from Voclap!" Cecilia mused. "Not only does it lower the opponents defense, but it also allows the user to power up their own vanguard. A dangerous skill."
"And the fun it's over yet," Sebastian said. "Voclap's generation break 3. For every open rear-guard circle on my side of the board, the entire front row gains an additional +5000 power. Since I have three, all units in my front row gain an additional +15000 power. Now go!"

'Shit, this is bad.' Eric thought, placing his two cards into the drop zone. He saw how much power Sebastian's front row possessed, meaning if he made a single mistake it was over. Not just for him, but for his team. 'But I won't let it end here!'

"Shit, double critical!" Eric murmured.
"Hylaeon Pike, attack the vanguard!"

The crowd cheered while Eric took a few deep breaths to calm himself. 'That was too close.' He thought.
"I end my turn. The skill of Pleseotrooper." Sebastian counter charged and soul charged one card each. "When he's retired due to the effect of a unit with "Ancient Dragon" in its name, then I can counter charge/soul charge one card each."

Everyone started cheering as she did.
Except for Sylvia and Anthony, who were looking each other right in the eye.
