It had been a couple of weeks since New Years Day, and as predicted all the work that we avoided over Christmas and New Years came back to haunt us.

"What the hell's all this?" Myoukou cried behind me, I for my part was standing rooted in the doorframe of the office staring at the mountain of paperwork that had piled on Hornet's desk.

"Well, it's rather simple Myoukou." Hornet replied from behind the paperwork, "Because the commander has a huge crush on my sister, he not only made her the leader of the First fleet but also his secretary, and the First fleet, is currently on Commission." Myoukou went to speak, but was stopped by Hornet, I had an idea of what she wanted to say, and I was not disappointed. "Yes, normally Yorktown would deal with this paperwork, but sis is quite fragile constitutionally which is why she usually ends up in the infirmary a lot." Hornet managed to lean past the paperwork to look us in the face "Yes, she's fine for the most part, but yesterday she partook in a fleet exercise and ended up taking severe damage, and Vestal says she is to be kept in for a couple of days, and what Vestal says regarding medical matters, is what will happen." Myoukou went to speak again, but Hornet held up her hand, again, I knew what Myoukou was thinking, but Hornet's answer was not what I was expecting. "So why doesn't the commander help? Have a think about what month it is right now." The two of us though for a moment, but we couldn't come up with anything, birthday? It was in August, Anniversary of a close friend's death? Not that we knew of. Eventually Hornet just gave up and told us. "It's the Flu season, and guess what's happened to the commander?" Ah! Hornet leaned back towards the middle of her desk, hearing an audible thump of a very frustrated aircraft carrier "And Vestal says that he needs a couple of days at most, so naturally all the base's paperwork has fallen to me. In terms of actual casework, there isn't anything to do so you might as well go home." The two of us just stood there for a moment, before I made my way into the room, grabbed a pile of paperwork and put it on my desk. Myoukou followed suit. "What-"

"Allow us to dispose of this paperwork, whatever needs to be done, the sword of justice shall cleave it, together!" Yeah, sorry about raining on your idea of comradeship Myoukou, but I didn't exactly have good intentions for helping Hornet, after all, it was either this, or going home, back to Portland, so there was no contest really.

I finished writing my signature on the document before I dropped my pen on the desk, I looked up to see how the others were doing, I was about half finished, Myoukou had finished about 2/5ths of her stack of papers, Hornet however had the biggest pile of paperwork by far and it looked as though she had only completed 1/100th of it. Myoukou shook her hand a bit before continuing to write. "I've never seen so much paperwork before." She muttered.

"Well get used to it kid, casework is 80% paperwork and 20% actual investigation." Hornet replied. Luckily there was something to break the monotonous task in front of us, there was a knock on the door, which was strange considering everyone else usually banged or kicked the door open resulting in us having to put the door back on its hinges almost every day. "Come in!" Hornet yelled. Th e door opened gently and a tall, pale skinned lady with long black hair and equally long legs walked into the room.

"Oh my! If you're busy I'll come back later"

"No it's no problem at all Miss…" because Hornet couldn't see our client from behind the mountain of paperwork she looked towards me and shrugged her shoulders

"(Yat-sen)"

"Yat-sen" Hornet finished. "If you would care to sit down my deputies will write down everything you say." That wasn't something I wanted to hear after signing who knows how many documents, I'll probably get writer's cramp.

Yat-sen sat on a chair in front of Hornet's desk "Well you see…recently a lot of our food seems to have disappeared." This was troublesome to say the least, everyone knew how little the Dragon Empery received in supplies. "And we were not satisfied by the explanation that the Royal Knights gave." Ah!

"I've no doubt." Hornet replied, "Are you sure that this isn't an administrative problem?"

"Absolutely, we even ordered more supplies because of our new arrivals."

"New arrivals?" Myoukou pondered "You mean you've got some new kansen? How come we didn't hear anything about it." Yat-sen giggled.

"We keep a rather low profile in Azur Lane, it's not as though we can throw massive celebration now." She had a point.

"What are their names?" I asked, "Just out of curiosity."

"Chao Ho and Ying Swei, although no-one can point the finger of blame on anyone in particular, these thefts are often random, with those in our faction not present having clear alibis."

"I see…" Hornet pondered for a moment, "Okay then Indianapolis, Moyoukou, I want you to escort Yat-sen home and investigate the robbery of the Dragon Empery's food supplies." As I stood up, ready to relieve myself from paperwork, Myoukou asked a question.

"Are you sure you'll be alright handling all this paperwork by yourself?"

"It's fine I'll get Wasp to help, it's not as if I need your help in completing all of this, you go ahead, and report back to me when you're done."

As we closed the office door behind us and made our way towards the Dragon Empery dorms I could hear a groan from the office followed by a "They bloody did as well!"
