Considering their rivalry and how intense it was, I think they were both very tempted, but probably didn't act on their impulses. I can maybe see them fooling around once or twice, but that's it. After the bedroom scene, there's no way they can hold back for too long. They'd end up in bed together as soon as they were allowed to spend just enough time alone.
If they had actually been allowed to be at least somewhat normal kids and had not been forced to compete against each other, I can totally see them, at the very least, constantly sharing a bed and spending nearly every night making out, teasing each other, dry humping, and maybe even masturbating together or full on having sex at a very young age.
