Anon asked: My brother recently bought the Avatar complete series for us to binge watch and re-expierence a classic show. When we reached the Bedroom scene, my brother just says "they're totally doing more than just sibling stuff." I laughed when I heard that. I think he understands lol!

Hahahaha, I can imagine your face when he said that XD

Honestly, I think anyone who is not in denial simply because they don't personally like the ship or because of purity culture would agree that there was something there. Everyone involved in the production of the show knew about the ships the fandom liked, and Grey Delisle full on said she voiced it seductively.

The trend of pretending there was nothing incestuous about that scene and that Avatar as a whole is a 100% innocent show that never tried to get crap past the radar is very recent. I've seen people deny the animators sexualized characters, and I wouldn't be surprised if I saw someone saying we're "seeing things that aren't there" on that scene when the writers practically made the show say "Yeah, Sokka and Suki are fucking". Avatar's main audience is kids, but kid's shows add in adult jokes and themes ALL THE TIME. We were just lucky someone was into incest and gave us some sweet, sweet Zucest.
