Behind the sunglasses and hood Alice's eyes kept searching the house, trying to spot some kind of light or activity inside the place, but for some reason it remained dark and lifeless. It truly was the perfect place to rob, considering how far inside the forest it was placed, with no one around to alarm the police. It was almost too perfect.

And for a second Alice felt nervous, as nothing ever was that easy. Life has taught her that the hard way.

But as she allowed her mind to wander, searching for every single possible outcome in the future, she couldn't see a single scenario go wrong. All Alice saw was a lot of cash and jewels that would soon hers mine, and she couldn't help but smile in victory. Despite not having entered the house yet.

But with her visions to soothe her worries, she moved away from her hiding in the forest toward the house. She hadn't actually seen anyone leave the house, but considering it's dark and empty state she could only assume it had been empty for some time. Why she could not say.

But boy was it a gigantic house. Despite all Alice's experience in this field, she had never robbed a house that big, and she couldn't help feeling greedy thinking about all the money she could get out of this. Of course she would have to share them with Riley, he was the one who tipped her about the location, but there would be more than enough for both of them.

And as Alice got up onto the porch, she tried to look ahead inside her mind, seeing every single outcome of her entry. Only to realize it didn't matter how she got in, as this house contained no alarms, and without much thought she grabbed the first stone she could find, and smashed it through the window of the front door. Not her most professional approach, but her visions had made it clear it wouldn't make a difference, and she had always wanted to try smashing a stone through a window.

After waiting a few moments, to see if the noise would alert someone, she knew the coast was clear and grabbed a pair of gloves. It wouldn't be good to leave any fingerprints behind for the police, as she carefully moved her arm through the broken window, and easily opened the grand door and stepped into the hallway. Leading her straight into a gigantic living room.

If she had time, she would probably have stolen their gigantic flatscreen as well, but she knew it wouldn't fit in her bags and this house contained things of far more value. Quickly she pulled her hood up, afraid there might be some kind of camera around, before she carefully stepped over the broken glass and into the house.

"Nice place," she muttered in approval, mostly to myself as no one else was going to hear it. But it truly was a nice place, decorated in light colors and wood, and she already knew the piano in the living room had to be worth quite a bit. Unfortunately she only brought hyself, and not a truck.

But knowing time was of the essence, Alice closed her eyes for a second, as it would be easier than searching the whole house. And in her mind pictures showed themself in a fast pace, as Alice saw every single outcome of her search, and quickly realized just where the most valuable items were hidden. There was no reason to actually search the place, when her visions could take care of it, and Alice headed upstairs in the darkness with her flashlight, knowing that was where most of the good stuff was hidden.

And she worked efficiently through the rooms, grabbing every single piece of jewelry and cash she could find, and stuffing them into her bags. One bag for Riley, and one for herself. Most of the jewelry she found was going to be for him, seeing how Alice had no contacts to sell these too, and found money far more interesting.

She would say she was a rather professional thief, as she tried not to look too much at people's private pictures, and mostly ignored her surroundings as she walked through the house. She already knew where she had to look. Alice would actually call herself a somewhat moral thief, seeing how she never stole from someone she considered poor, and tried to stay away from wedding rings and photo books. But her morals couldn't be stretched much further than that.

But Alice was good at what she was doing, and she knew it. She had been born with a rather peculiar set of skills, and had from bitter experience learned it was best not to mention them, but it didn't mean she couldn't use them to her advantage. Because not many thieves could see the future like Alice, making it far easier to know which house to break into, and what to take.

Alice liked to think of her visions as her own special talent, and knew it was the reason for her success, just like it kept her off the police's radar as she was one step ahead.

She didn't even feel guilty as she filled her bags, knowing these people would be able to afford new jewelry, and couldn't see how anyone could be so emotionally attached to a piece of metal. And so she walked from room to room, amazed at how much cash this house contained, and her bags were starting to get heavy.

At last she only missed an office and a bedroom. The bedroom went fairly easy, as Alice pointed her flashlight around the modern room, and quickly found the vanity table. To her surprise it was filled with even more jewelry and watches, and she emptied it all into Riley's bag, knowing he would have a field day about all of this.

But just as she was about to stuff the last few pearls and diamonds into the bag, she eyed a small golden necklace with a pendant resembling a fern curled into a circle. It looked rather old to Alice, but apart from that it didn't look like anything special as it contained no stones, and probably was rather cheap. But it made Alice stop in her heist with a small gasp, as the small necklaces reminded her of the one her mother used to wear, and with a sad smile she picked it up.

Because the necklace reminded her of a love she hadn't been given for so long.

And so without thinking about it's owner, Alice stuffed the necklace into her pocket, the small pendant now belonged to her.

She continued with little care, and emptied the nightstand for any values, before heading to the last room, which surprised her slightly.

Because it was an office, but while the rest of the house was modern and light, this place was dark and belonged to another time. As Alice used her flashlight she realized most of the walls were filled with books, and a grand desk was placed in the middle of the room, and made Alice feel like she had stepped into another century.

But she didn't really care, as she opened the unlocked drawers underneath the desk, and grabbed an insane amount of cash.

"I won't need to do another job for quite a while," Alice muttered to herself with a small laugh, and wondered what was wrong with these people. Who even had that much cash lying around their house? But Alice wasn't going to look a gift horse in it's mouth, and just took every single dollar she could find. Wondering for a second if they were fake, but quickly pushed it aside. She could check for that later.

And Alice would have left after that, having taken more than her visions had shown inside the house, but just as she was about to leave the office her flashlight pointed toward the wall.

And suddenly Alice found herself unable to move, staring at a wall filled with paintings and pictures, some of these paintings dating centuries back. And as if Alice had been hypnotised she walked toward the wall, with her flashlight looking at each painting and photo, only to realize something was off about this place. So far Alice hadn't thought too much of it, far too focused on the task ahead, but now fear began to creep into her soul.

Because the more she stared at these pictures and paintings, the more Alice began to realize the same people were shown on each artwork. Of course it was possible to paint someone in an old costume, but Alice could see these paintings were old because they were worn, just like a lot of the photos. And throughout the pictures Alice could see the same beautiful people, posing in different pictures throughout the last few centuries, first in paintings and then in photographs. While none of them seemed to age.

And it puzzled her, but at the same time these pictures scared her in a way she couldn't explain, and she felt how her hands began to shake. As though her body was trying to warn her.

Alice tried to convince herself it was a joke, and there was no reason to be scared. But nevertheless she still felt frightened, as she bolted out of this strange office and downstairs. She almost considered leaving all the values behind, but the logical part of her thought that was ridiculous, and with no further thoughts Alice left the house. Promising herself never to return, because something about that house suddenly seemed wrong.

Running through the tree's Alice quickly found her black motorcycle, and by a small narrow path she got back to the mainroad. She didn't even have a driver licence, at least not a real one, but due to her visions she always managed to avoid the police.

And with her bags filled with money, Alice drove down the dark streets, trying to get as far away from Forks as possible. All while she tried to shake the whole experience off, knowing there was no reason to dwell on the past. She would be over every mountain before these strange people got back to their house. Or at least that was what she told herself.

And Alice promised herself to think no further about it.
