Anon asked: This isn't necessarily a smutty ask, but I was wondering what you thought of Zuko and Azula having a 4 year age difference instead of 2. 2 isn't that much, but there's still a difference in maturity there. But when it comes to 4 years there's a big difference there (Azula is incredibly mature in her case, so when I say maturity difference I mean more so in physical development). I think the tension of 18 year old Zuko and 14 year old Azula's relationship (zucest or not) would be very interesting. He'd probably be even more upset that he's an adult and his teenage sister is still always showing him up imo.
Ooohhh, that is sort of like the sweet spot between canon and that "Zuko is 8 years older" scenario I was thinking about the other week. The age gap is small enough that they have more of an "equal" position instead of it being an obvious hierarchy/responsibility, while also allowing Zuko to have much more of a "protective big brother" approach to their relationship - and making it easy for it to go the "My little sister got really hot and that disturbs me" route as Azula grows older.
And since the age gap is a bit smaller, Older!Zuko would feel less ashamed about "corrupting" his baby sister since she would be looking a little less like a kid when he was banished (so there wouldn't be that severe of a clash between his mental image of her and the "new" her)
