Anon asked: mid final battle, zuko says "fuck it" and goes to azula and he just hugs her? and says " hey hey... you're safe i promise, no one will hurt you now"
The five people Azula didn't banish would think "Great. We got TWO crazy royals". Katara would be worried, proud, confused, and touched. Appa loves Zuko, so he would go from "Azula bad" to "Azula good" in a split second.
Zuko wouldn't let go for a looooooooooong time, because he hasn't hugged a Azula in years, and he had forgotten how good it felt, plus his baby sister clearly needs some comfort. Azula would just be standing still, and even after Zuko lets go she'd just be staring at him like he grew another head, because she cannot process the fact that someone loves her - especially not someone she knows she hurt. Zuko would gently explain to her that he was going to be Fire Lord, and that if she surrenders now he'll give her a royal pardon and allow her to keep her title of princess. She just nods and is very scared when he hugs her again.
Ozai would be fucking furious that Azula lost a battle in such a ridiculous way, and thousands of years later people would still be very confused as to how exactly did a battle to the death turn into a hug-ni kai.
