Chapter 55: The divided federation

To the reader. The following takes place during the war. Each part is sometime during and after some events of the story. Anthology of reactions and side characters of their viewpoint of the united federation under attack. It's not over.

The tv shows everything. The world is at a standstill. There are choppers from other countries coming in to help the country. In the white house Amy sits with rouge talking about what happen. While that's happening, the ferocious, Notorius Genius, Dr. Eggman sits at the Bar of the White house. His drink is poured by a black arm while he sits behind the desk watching the fireworks.

While that's happening Cubot and Orbot call from Eggman land. He opens a digital window video call showing him his trust worthy assistances.

Dr. Eggman: "How are things at the base?"

Orbot: "Splendid. The base is full readiness incase The black arms try to invade."

Cubot: "Yo doc, are you sure it's a good idea to be working with these guys? I mean they did try to kill you?"

Dr. Eggman: "Yeah. Me and Gloom came within an agreement. So did you read through the Leviticus archives?"

Orbot: "We sure did. There's no doubt about it that the black arms traveled to this world long ago. During the creation of this world there seemed to be an long and great battle for the soul of the planet until they were defeated by another."

Dr. Eggman: "Who?"

Orbot: "We don't know."

Cubot: "It ends with a few missing pages. The things we heard about them aren't pretty. We have no idea what they were called or who even stopped them. but your old friend Dark Gaia was involved."

Dr. Eggman: "Of course. So any luck getting that machine ready?

Orbot: "Yes of course doctor. From the secrets you found on the black comet in rail canyon and our robots gathering all the crystals from inside it they manage to power up your fission core for the Eggfission Emperor."

Cubot: "And it's the complete module and edition from years back when metal sonic used it as a way to copy all of sonic's data."

Dr. eggman: "Good, so it's fully ready. bring it to me at the white house."

Cubot: "But boss isn't that place heavily guarded by GUN?"

Dr. Eggman: "Not now it is. In fact not ever again it will be after today."

Orbot: "I heard doctor. It seems the united federation is falling apart."

Cubot: "Yeah Boss. Your plan worked like a charm. Also, what are we going to do if sonic jumps in?"

Dr. Eggman: "We tear him limb from limb if he gets in the way."

Cubot: "Are you sure, because basically on our track record, he always-"

Dr. Eggman: "Sonic is captured by the black arms. He should be in their hands by now. Besides it's not for him."

Cubot: "Then who's it for?"

Dr. Eggman: "Just hurry and bring it."

Dr. Eggman: "Also, before you two leave, get ready for the black arms arrival."

Cubot: "I'll get the missiles ready."

Dr. Eggman: "No! just get the place ready and the army at stand still when they come. They're going to be our next door neighbors for a while."

Orbot: "Yes of course, doctor."

Cubot: "Oh and doc can you send me pictures of the pla-"

*hangs up*

Black Arm: "Your drink."

Dr. eggman: "Thank you."

He gulps down a bit and puts it down. He looks at the tv.

Dr. Eggman: "What happened at exodus? I been studying the books over and over but I can't seem to know what is they fought billions of years ago. There was that spagonia unit. They are the ones with the withheld information on the archives. Maybe I'll find something when they move to my lair. And that's when I get my chance for them to do my bidding. I just hope Shadow and or sonic are able to catch up to him so they can bring me those emeralds."

Acorn

School is out. Cream and a swarm of students hurry home. She enters the house only to notice her mother gone.

Cream: "Darn."

She hurry's upstairs and calls her mother on her cell. She turns on her tv and the news only to find every channel talking about the black arms. News and media are everywhere. The phone line rings until Vanilla picks up.

Vanilla: "Hello?"

Cream: "Mom, are you seeing this."

Vanilla: "they're all on the news too baby. Its bad out there. People are rioting and protesting. Are you all right?"

Cream: "I'm fine. Where are you?"

Vanilla: "Stuck at work sweetie. They rather not release anyone out on the streets yet. Make sure to lock the doors. I'll be leaving right now. Be careful dear."

Cream: "Love you. see you when you get home."

She hangs up and checks the gun behind her pillow. Cheese flies in to check on her.

Cheese: "Chao."

Cream: "hey cheese."

Cheese: "Chao."

Cream: "I assume you heard the news too?"

Cheese: "Chao. (Yes)"

Cream: "c'mon."

She grabs her blow dart and opens the window.

Cheese: "Chao chao."

Cream: "We can't bring it. That's only for emergencies at home. We're just going to go see a friend is all."

Cheese: "Chao."

They fly off towards Claire's.

1 hour later

Claire's house

She and her parents are watching tv. Ash is sitting in the kitchen watching on his laptop. A few friends from class start knocking on the door. Claire opens.

Claire: "Hey guys."

Raul: "how are things going?"

Claire: "It's bad."

Cream flies in and lands at the front door before she can close it.

Claire: "About time you made it."

Cream: "Hey."

3 minutes later

News

Reporter: "We're here live at the southern border of the united federation. sigh, I won't sugar coat this on national tv. The situation of the united federation is critical. The borders down south are overwhelmed and full of civilians trying to escape the country for safety. Some tried jumping the fence and we're immediately shot and killed. Nobody is allowed to leave the country and is to resignate into safe areas. The black arm's are overwhelming the armies of the united federation and thanks to the help of the other countries they are evacuating families, children, and many others to safety. Wait I just got word we'll be going off the air for a while. We will recon-"

The news changes to something else. Another channel.

Claire: "So what does that mean?"

Reggie: "It means they're screwed."

Cream walks into the kitchen to see Ash. He looks at the footage of the3 united federation.

Cream: "How bad is it?"

Ash: "Very bad. It's a bloodbath."

He shows her footage from the base he got from his dad and the internet.

Cream: "Oh my."

Ash: "So cream, is these some of your friends?"

He shows her a picture of silver. The boys took pictures of him and silver and posted it. They near a bulldozer and a bunch of trucks. The caption has.

"Just beat a whole army of those black freaks. This hedgehog is awesome. We also met one the awesome ones, blaze."

They show more photos of him attacking and beating the black arms one by one with his powers. They have one last picture of Blaze. She poses for the camera and silver. They're a bit beat up. The boys all four standing holding each others shoulders.

Cream: "It's silver and blaze. They must have did it."

Ash scrolls to a video of someone in central city recording from the rooftops. He shows Sonic falling from the sky from the black comet and lands onto the rooftop near him and the video ends.

Cream: "Sonic!"

He jumps down off the rooftops and hurries towards the presidential palace.

Ash: "Huh, I pictured him a little taller."

He scrolls to some footage he got from his dad inside the base. He knows how to hack through the camera system. He shows footage of the black arms and GUN fighting. It shows a black figure fighting Shadow and the camera is destroyed.

Cream: "Shadow?"

Ash: "Wait, that's him? that's shadow the hedgehog?"

Cream: "Yes."

Ash: "Well who is this guy?"

He skips into a viewpoint of another camera showing a black hedgehog giving orders to the black arms. He walks away not before he notices the camera and chaos blast it.

Cream gets a trembling feeling down her neck to her back and breaths in and out slowly.

Cream: "Long story on him. I rather not talk about it."

Ash: "I understand. But he's definitely not one of the good guys right?"

Cream: "No. keep going."

He goes through footage and online articles of the freedom fighters and others helping and battling it out during the war. He decides to look up more news on the laptop and shows a video of GUN Soldiers.

Reporter: "Hey you, why is everyone being held up at the borders."

GUN Reporter: "We don't know. We were given orders to not let anyone pass. The we haven't received orders from none of our generals and the president."

He flips to another video of the GUN Talking. General Mort is at a meeting with people with cameras asking questions and broadcasting.

Mort: "We have taken back westopolis. I have been given orders to have everyone wait at the borders until the president and congress confirm that- Hold on."

He puts his ear piece in his ear and gives the signal to his neck to cut the camera. He speeds up a few minutes later and mort comes back.

Mort: "Ladies and gentlemen, await further instructions."

The video ends there and everyone in the living room is quiet.

Ash: "Also check this out."

He enters another video of an interview with the press.

Mort: "People… I-uhhhh…"

He rubs his head and drinks his water.

Mort: "I just gotten word from the president. He says to not worry or fear anything. He doesn't want anyone to panic. He says to wait for further instructions."

He pauses the video.

Ash: "What does that mean?"

Sarah: "GUYS GET IN HERE QUICK!"

Ash and Cream get up and run towards the living room. Whole lot of people, neighbors, friends, family, schoolmates.

News reporter: "Ladies and Gentlemen. I don't know how to explain this but the Black arms and GUN are in a cease fire. The president has issued an order to stand down with one of the black arm leaders and is now at the white house."

Ash: "What…the…fuck!"

Sarah: "Oh my God!"

Claire: "what?"

Cream: …

Man: "Oh shit… they lost. The united federation has fallen."

As the reporter went on everyone including other countries are in shock. The people and citizens of around the world are in shock that one of the greatest super powers have fallen.

UNITED FEDERATION BORDER SOUTH

The border is full packed. There are boats of civilians escaping to any other nearby countries.

UNITED FEDERATION BORDER WEST

There's an airfield of plains where hundreds probably thousands of people are to board and fly anywhere else. It also leads to the westside islands.

UNITED FEDERATION BORDER NORTH

There are choppers taking in families and other country politicians towards the south of apotos. School buses of children driving out of the way.

UNITED FEDERATION BORDER EAST

The cars of refugees heading towards Spagonia and Soleanna mainland borders across a huge freeway/bridge. A lot of people hop out of their cars and run or walk towards anywhere but the direction they came from.

Secret base and place in Spagonia

There are people sitting down at a big table. A long circular table of country leaders. Elias hologram projector appears before the table while he's still at mobotropolis at home in the kingdom of acorn. All well known leaders over the years Sonic has met or helped out. Professor pickles sits down at the middle of the table near the leader of spagonia. Elise, queen of soleanna now older than what she used to be in a deleted timeline sits down. Leader of Chun-nan. Apotos. Leonus. Shamar. Monopole. Apotos. Dragon kingdom. New Mercia. Wolf pack nation. And it goes on.

Elias: "good. Testing testing is everyone there?"

Elise: "We're here your majesty."

Pickles: "Yes sir. You're loud and clear."

Chun-nan leader: "Shi-de" (Yes)

Lupe: "yes, we hear you loud and clear.

Mazuri: "yes."

Spagonia: "Yes."

Elias: "Good. Now I invited everyone here in good faith to talk about the threat that's attacking the united federation."

Spagonia: "We're actually taking in civilians right now and helping them. so about this black arm's they attacked some of my cities in the past."

Elias: "The black arm's are ruthless terrorist. I just got word they just captured the president. He has issued an order for the military in his country to stand down. I called everyone here in good faith to ask for help to sort this situation out."

Lupe: "Those creatures have terrorized my country for far too long."

Spagonia leader: "Agreed. My men have found a few stings and operations of the black arms. Heard they were in the catacombs underneath spagonia trying to dig up stuff they shouldn't be digging up. And they were snooping around in the old Camelot castle."

Chun-nan: "I recommend we send a few missles towards the creatures."

Elias: "We can't we gotta obey the laws of not to fire on another country grounds. Plus it violates the treaty."

Chun-nan: "But we're not attacking them."

Pickles: "Still it's best to save your trouble and the millions of dollars your missles cost. I say they wouldn't work anyway."

Elias: "Why's that. I just found out Dr. Ivo Robotnik aka Eggman is working with them."

Lupe: "Not surprising. So what do we do about him?"

Spagonia: "You can't he's under their protection. Seems like they are working with him.

United federation second representative: "Everyone, I have terrible news. Also the president is going to be joining this meeting in a minute but not alone."

Shamar: "Excuse me, professor? Do you have information about these black creatures."

Pickles: "I studied the archives and information with a few friends of mine in the Spagonia research team. It seems the black arms have been here occasionally in the past millions of years. Checking on this planet, seeing if it was habitable. They been here before. There was a war long ago involving them and the gaia's and a an unnamed society. The creatures battled to take this planet ending up destroying and fracturing mobius. I don't know what drove them off or any information on their departure but it says they were here before the first attack all those years ago. The worlds greatest mind Gerald Robotnik has made contact of the comet and that's what brought them back when they discovcered the planet has intelligent life."

Elias: "So it's hard to call them aliens then."

Pickles: "They are aliens. But yes it's hard to call them that now since they have been living on this planet."

Elise: "In hiding."

Pickles: "That too. The creatures are not after our resources, they have a different agenda."

Lupe: "Enslavement?"

Pickles: "Something like that. They insist on changing the world and the law of human nature."

Elias: "It seems like world domination."

Pickles: "Precisley."

The united federation hologram turns on with the president, despara, and Gloom with a gun."

Gloom: "Hello. How's it going world leaders?"

Elias: "So you're the infamous Gloom the hedgehog we've been hearing about?"

Gloom: "Yep."

Despara: "We're on a tight schedule my lord, so lets get down to business."

Gloom: "Indeed. We recommend you all to take your soldiers out of the united federation. call all the ally nations military away from the united federation."

Elias: "And if we don't?"

Despara: "Oh not a good option to what's going to happen in 30 minutes. Right now the fate of this country is in your hands ladies and gentlemen. We have the codes of the Wrath of the sun and the outer space satellites."

Everyone: "WHAT!"

Gloom: "Yep. It wasn't hard and now we have access to hellstorm around the planet."

Despara: "The doctor worked real hard to get them for us. So unless you bow down, kneel and surrender and we will spare him."

Gloom aims at his head awaiting their answer.

Everyone is silent until the president speaks.

President: "My brothers and sisters of the world. I have failed. As the president of the united federation, do not surrender to these animals. The time has come for us to put our differences aside and work together and stop these people next to me at all cost. as I stand here at the last few moments of my death. Ensure that the survival of everyone and everything on this planet is possible. I believe and have hope in my heart that you will do the right thing. The saviors and protectors of this world Sonic and Shadow and the rest of the freedom fighters will come forth and stop him. as I make my final order, for the love of my daughter and children of the future. This is my final order. Give em hell fellas."

Gloom: "Well you heard him. last chance guys…"

Everyone stares as sweat falls from them. chills travel their spines. They all stay silent as waiting for what's gonna happen. Screaming and begging can be heard from Glooms end.

Gloom: "Sigh… Alrighty then!"

He pulls the trigger and the president brains are splattered across and off the hologram as he falls to the side. Out of the view.

Elias: …

Everyone is silent. Shocked. Devastated.

Gloom: "Told you they wouldn't listen."
