Chapter 63: Back Home

Dear Diary,

"It's been two months since it all happened. The invasion and the president being dead. They put in a new president though. He's an old trusted friend. Seems like they're only a quarter away from cleaning up all the mess that happened in the country. I pity them. There are still battles being fought there. It amazes me that he would go that far. It breaks my heart knowing that someone would do that. I guess he has still has something on his mind. I do believe that he can still change. Make a difference like shadow. Speaking of Shadow, I've been noticing some crazy things happening to him. He goes out everyday talking with rouge and omega. I'm worried about him. I hear him talk to himself. He conversates with whatever is not there. It's kinda weird for shadow since he's not the talkative type. Who is he talking to exactly? Gloom? I don't say anything nor judge since I used to do that. I feel like there is something that he's not telling me. Something he knows and is hiding. I want to talk to him about it but I'm scared. Why? I don't know. Most of us decided we were to take a break for a while. Be ready for what's to come next. I went to Cream and Vanillas place. They're still doing good. Cream has been out of school for a few weeks because of the attacks. She's been doing good. Seems like she's not the same little girl I used to know. she goes out hanging with friends now. That's shocking. She does be by Tails workshop helping him figure some stuff out. We know that those satellites fell to the planet. Sonic and Shadow and his team went to go investigate. Seems the black arms stole some stuff off it he told me. they did find where those beams hit but still can't explain why. Also about Sonic, I hardly ever see him anymore. It's like he's a different person now. Sally hardly sees him as well too. He's been running around everywhere. Went back the united federation last week to help rebuild. He does come by to say hi every now and then. I noticed Tails repaired his blade. So far everyone has been taking a break from all this. I hope there's something I could do to help and I will. Hey, the dreams of the house stopped happening. Wonder what they mean? Kept up with my tarot cards but no answer. Might go see cousin Rob."

She closes her book. She looks up at the tv seeing that some events are occurring in spagonia. Refugee camps are starting to decline after the recent events that took place those two months ago. Footage of Abraham being sworn into office. He has a beard now. There are other events talking about where those lasers vaporized but no one knows where exactly. There have been curfew laws in check. No one to be out so late now, like anyone is going to follow those rules. She finishes eating her cereal. And stands up. she puts the bowl in the sink to wash. The door unlocks and it's shadow.

Shadow: "I'm back."

Amy: "Oh good. Any luck out there?"

Shadow: "Yeah. We found one of their locations. Some mountain out in the dragon kingdom.

Amy: "Dragon kingdom? Why would they be all the way over there?"

Shadow: "That's what we're finna find out?"

She stands up with her bag and kisses him on the cheek.

Shadow: "So what's with the bag?"

Amy: "Oh I'm going to go to Mercia. See my cousin and mother."

Shadow: "How long do you plan on staying there?"

Amy: "You mean we?"

Shadow: "What?"

Amy: "Shadow. Please come with me."

Shadow: "I would love to meet the family and all but I can't just leave my team. We still gotta find Gloom."

Amy: "Whatever he's planning. You'll be there in a flash. Just take a break."

Shadow: "I suppose I could take off for a few but I gotta report in with rouge."

Rouge: "I already know."

They both look up embarrassed and shocked to see the bat on her ceiling upside down.

Amy: "How long were you up there listening?"

Rouge: "For a good minute or two. I say we should take a break from it all as well. I mean it's been a while. I need a vacation from the mess that went down in The UF."

She drops down on the floor.

Rouge: "Whatever it is that Gloom and his goons are planning I'm sure it can wait. Besides we haven't heard from those guys in a while."

Shadow: "Still it's best to expect the unexpected."

Rouge: "Well Amy what is there to expect at this Mercia?"

Amy: "Beautiful place with an amazing royal and rich estates."

Rouge: "Oh so you're a rich girl?"

Amy: *chuckles* "No. No, no, no. Its not like that. Never was. So what have you been doing lately?"

Rouge: "Ran into the new president of the united federation. He decided to let us off the hook for now. He's giving us full resources in ever we need help to stop the black arms."

Amy: "That's good."

Shadow: "Plus we'll need all the help we can get."

Rouge: "Omega went to the Dragon kingdom to investigate. Seems like there might be an operation over there."

Shadow: "If he calls, we'll be there."

Rouge: "Hey, have you checked in on Sonic?"

Amy: "No. haven't seen him in 2 weeks."

Rouge: "He's back in town. He's at Tails workshop."

Amy: "You wanna go see him before we head out?"

Shadow: "Hmph. I guess." (Also because I want to catch up with tails intel)

Amy: "Great."

Rouge: "You both go on ahead. I gotta go see someone."

Angel Island

The red echidna kneeling before the master emerald. a few red other echidna kids running past him while he prays before the master emerald. He listens to the sounds of birds and flickys chirping from behind. He looks up to see the master emerald.

Rouge: "So how's my precious master emerald looking?"

Knuckles: "Heh. You wish. And it's doing fine."

He turns around to see his treasure hunting friend.

Knuckles: "For once it's great to see a familiar face."

Rouge: "Aww did you miss me?"

Knuckles: "Now I didn't say that. So any luck finding those things?"

Rouge: "That I will tell you about. We heard of an operation near the dragon kingdom. Omega is there investigating."

Knuckles: "That place does hold good treasures out there."

Rouge: "Mmhmm. I got a warm fuzzy feeling from hearing that."

Knuckles: "So when do we move onto that?"

Rouge: "Easy there, hot head. We can't just barge in there. Don't want to cause any suspicion. Omega will notify us to clarify that the black arms are actually there."

Knuckles: "Hmph. Guess we're not going anywhere just yet."

Rouge: "Well, Tails was able to get something happening out in the middle of the ocean."

Knuckles: "Can always count on him."

Rouge: "Well we am going to go run into him today."

Knuckles: "We?"

Rouge: "Well yes of course. Me, Amy, shadow, and Sonic."

Knuckles: "Haven't seen or heard from him since it all went down."

Rouge: "Yep. Seems like he's been busy."

Knuckles: "How busy?"

Rouge: "Well."

Acorn palace

Sally enters a limo. Her brother Elias is sitting across from her.

Sally: "And you're sure the what He says there is correct?"

Elias: "Of course. The remains are buried far deep under the catacombs."

Sally: "Why bury it all the way down there?"

Elias: "You're guess is as good as mine."

They ride down the road towards the house of Prowers. The door opens with Tails receiving a kiss on the cheek from Rosemary prower. He runs down towards the limmo and opens it himself. he hops in.

Tails: "Hey uncle Elias, Hey aunt Sally."

Sally: "Hey foxy."

She gives him a kiss on the forehead.

Elias: "Morning kiddo. Got you that debrief."

Tails: "Thanks. Now we can move onto the black arms plan."

Sally: "Although it seems like they're one step ahead of us."

Elias: "So Tails?"

He pulls out a tablet and goes into screenshot mode. And shows them a picture.

Elias: "Does this face mean anything to you?"

They hit a bump on the road when Elias hands them the tablet accidently switching the photo into something else.

Tails: "Uhhh, I don't know anything on hot lingerie fits."

Sally's eyes open and looks at the tablet. She covers his eyes and looks at Elias in anger. He blushes.

Elias: "S-sorry. Heh… that's something else."

He grabs the tablet and changes this.

Elias: "I meant this."

He hands it back seeing photos. A forest. A bunch of Black arms working in the forest. One has a black hedgehog standing on top of a tree. Gloom. He has his arms folded. Tails skims to another photo of Despara. She's in a fur coat in the forest talking to the behemoth.

Tails: "Yeah. it's them. also how were you able to get these photos?"

Elias: "We hired an old enemy to get these. His skills were able to blend in."

Tails: "Who?"

Elias: "That's classified for now. He's still on the job up there. We'll call you when he's ready for you all to come."

Tails: "Okay."

Elias: "So Tails, curiosity. You met these guys, what are they like?"

Tails: "They're ruthless. They hardcore. I still get nightmares of the big guy."

Sally: "I remember him. he's not even black arm. He's human."

Tails: "Seems like he's being controlled by that eye wrapped around his face."

Elias: "You fought him?"

Tails: "Yeah, when we rescued Sonic from the comet. Speaking of which, where is it?"

Elias: "Our spies know where it is but you won't be surprised."

Eggman Land

The city of robots. A lot of construction. Egg pawns everywhere including the black arms. The giant comet is right next to the doctors lair. In the lab a bunch of black arms are moving stuff. Gloom stands next to the doctor in front of a tank of the vials are. Scanners are going around the two black matter vials shadow gave him. The doctor has his tablet in his hands typing down stuff.

Gloom: "So any luck doc?"

Eggman: "Yeah. These schematics are off the charts. I know where to get the resources but do you know how to make it?"

Gloom: "I got some ideas how but I'm going to need my fathers book plus the research files from the old comets remains. Our scholar is already washing and remodeling them. Thanks again for your water bots."

Eggman: "Anything for this type of research. So where's the queen bee?"

Gloom: "She's on her way back. Seems like they need more help into getting in the catacombs."

Eggman: "What? The space lasers weren't enough?"

Gloom: "Well they did help get rid of most of our problems and we were able to set an operation in the forest. And thanks to that laser you built a while back we were able to dig into the ground and make tunnels."

Eggman: "Not my intentions for those lasers intentions but I'm happy to know someone appreciates my work."

Gloom: "They still have your name on them."

Eggman: "So about what happened in the dark wars, what was the enemy?"

Gloom: "Not sure. Didn't get that far in the old books but there is still some in one of these comets. You're welcome to look at them. all I know is that we abandoned the war and left. Some of our own were left behind on this planet. They did say it was bad. Wish I was there."

Eggman: "The gaia manuscripts did mention a great war. Once happened here when the world was broken apart by them once."

Gloom: "I also heard that you did it again as well."

Eggman: "Yeah."

Gloom: "What happened?"

Eggman: "I don't want to talk about it. but that blue menace got in my way."

Gloom: "I see that this hedgehog is a real bane to you."

Eggman: "You have no idea."

Gloom: "Hmph. I can fix that problem. I see that this world puts their faith in him too much. Time to break that cycle."

Cyne – Pretty Apollo

In the town where tails workshop is, the wind starts to pick up. Footsteps are racing down the road. He has Air pods in his ear. The residents know who it is but can only catch a glimps of it. He's faster than he was last time. He runs down a road and the ocean is in his sights. He has a clear view of the house tails works in. He notices Shadow and Amy at the front doorstep. He picks up the pace and Shadow looks back. hearing the sound of his flicking feet. Amy notices and smiles at the blue blur. He slows down calming the gust of wind that's about to follow him and he stops right in front of tails yard with shades on. Duct tape is wrapped around his hand and ankles and a brown scarf covering his mouth with a back pack. The wind starts to pick up and Amy holds on her hair and closes her eyes from the large wind coming. He has his signature shades on and lifts it up. He takes out his phone and stops the music.

Shadow: "Hmph. What took you so long?"

Sonic: "Heh heh, sorry. Had a little run in with a few friends."

Amy: "Oh Sonic!"

She runs up to the blue hedgehog. She gives him a hug and he picks her up giving her a twerl.

Sonic: "Sorry I haven't been by. I just needed to get my mind right. So what did I miss?"

Amy: "Oh nothing really. Everyone has been relaxing."

He drops her.

Sonic: "So where is the guy?"

Shadow: "Hoped you knew."

Sonic: "He'll be here."

Amy: "So Sonic, what's with the new look?"

Sonic: "Oh, I this well. I been to different places. Deserts, mountains. Just been perfecting my speed."

Shadow: "Gloom kicking you're teeth wasn't enough for you huh?"

Sonic: "Hmph. Next time I'll be ready for him."

Shadow: "We" will."

Sonic: "So what have you been up to?"

Amy: "Oh well-"

*Honk Honk*

The limo with Tails and Sally are in pulls up. they open the door and exit.

Sonic: "There's my guy."

They raise both their right hands out and collide them together in a grip that pulls both of them together and bro hug it out. Sally exits the car as they drive off. She hugs him.

Sally: "You've been a busy bee."

Sonic: "Yeah. Went to different places."

Knuckles: "Hey!"

They all turn their heads to see the red echidna and bat gliding in. they land onto the front of tails workshop.

Rouge: "I like the new look you blue."

Sally: "What's with the duct tape?"

Sonic: "Oh this? Well, long story?"

Tails: "I don't care what you're all complaining about. He still looks cool and a little more badass."

Knuckles: "More like a bum."

Rouge steps on his foot.

Knuckles: "OW!"

Everyone else is laughing and giggling.

Rouge: "That oughta shut you up."

Sonic: "C'mon let's go inside."

Chaotix Detective agency

In Espio's dojo, loud thumping can be heard. A girl and a man fighting. She falls down onto her back. the rabbit stunned from getting hit hard.

Cream: "Ow…"

Espio: "You got skills. You must be vigilant. Be ready for any move I make."

The young rabbit girl stands up. She hops up and down and charges at Espio. She tries hitting Espio but he dodges her attacks easily. She tries mixing it up with including her ears. Espio blocks and dudges them. She tries kneeing him but he blocks that easily. She spins around having her ears try to hit him. backs away and she tries lead side kicking him. He moves at the right moment and trips her. she falls on her back and he puts his knee on her chest. He raises his fist preparing the strike and she flinches. He stops near her face and the wind can be felt upon her face but no strike. She looks up to see the fist.

Espio: "You must be unpredictable."

Cream: "What I do wrong?"

Espio: "You kick a lot."

He stands up and helps her up.

Espio: "Wanna go again?"

Cream: "Sorry, can't. Gotta go meet tails."

Espio: "Hmph. Oh, it's a date."

Her eyes jump rapidly.

Cream: *Blushing* "NO! I-it's nothing like that."

Espio: "Kidding, I'm just kidding. I know Sonic is back."

Cream: "Yeah. And he found where those beams hit."

She grabs her back. she runs around the dressing area and changes.

Espio: "I see. Well tell him I said hi."

He walks away and opens the door to the outside. He stretches taking in the sunlight of the bright and beautiful day. He drinks his water. He looks at the chaotix house. Charmy is playing volley ball with three more of his buddies he knows in two on two. A dark pink hedgehog Espio knows walks up.

Aliese: "I see you're all healed up."

Espio: "Yep."

Aliese: "You've been training?"

Espio: "Just teaching an old friend some stuff."

The bunny is walks out in jeans and an orange shirt with flowers on it.

Cream: "Hi."

Aliese: "Hello."

Espio: "Aliese. This is Cream. Cream this Aliese."

Cream: "Nice to meet you."

Aliese: "How do ya do? Hey, aren't you Ms. Vanilla's daughter?"

Cream: "Yes."

Aliese: "Your mother is an amazing cook."

Cream: "She knows."

House of Vanilla and Cream

Vanilla: *Sneezes* "Someone is talking about me. Heh, Cream."

Back to Cream

Cream: "Thanks for the practice Espio."

Espio: "Any time."

She walks off dojo's porch. Charmy slams the ball over the net. Another brown mole kid dives for the ball and hits it in the air. A bird kid with hops jumps slaps the ball across but a dog mobian kid hurries and slaps it away. It is sent flying towards Cream.

Charmy: "Oh no. Cream look out!"

She looks and sees the ball coming fast. She catches the ball with both her hands stopping it from hitting her in the face.

All four of the boys: "Woooaahhh."

She bounces the ball back to Charmy and they all look at Espio. He smiles seeing she is starting to have fast reflexes.

Aliese: "Wow. You taught her well."

Espio: "You okay?"

Cream: "Yeah."

Charmy: "Sorry."

Cream: "It's cool."

She runs off heading through the forest with her back pack. Full of clothes and water. All four of the boys blush from seeing her.

Charmy: "She looked so cool."

Dog kid: "Awesome."

Bird kid: "So close."

Mole kid: "She looks so hot."

Espio: "Oh chaarmyyyy?"

The bee kid turns his head shakily to see a chameleon not amused with an angry knot on his forehead. He smiles innocently. She walks through the forest and heads off through an open field and town seeing the beautiful view of her neighborhood. She starts flying her way towards tails house. Cheese comes in.

Cheese: "Chao!"

Cream: "Hey Cheese. Lets hurry and get there. Maybe Sonic and the others are there already."

She flies over the town. Her destination towards tails workshop.

In tails workshop

The whole crew are in the house. Shadow is sitting at the table with Rouge, Sally and Amy. his arms folded and eyes closed. Tails is by the workbench with blitz. The blade is repaired. Brand new. More like upgraded. It has a new look. A darker shade of blue. The handle black with green lining circling it.

Sonic: "You out did yourself this time. man."

Tails: "Do you like it? I upgraded the cathode, anode and the electrolytes. It should take more charges now. Also I changed the battery cell with something that'll give you more juice."

Sonic: "Nice. It feels great."

Tails: "I did have some ideas myself on what I can do next with that blade. Maybe something more if you can find the right parts and components."

Sonic: "Man. I can't wait to use this thing again."

Tails: "Don't lose it again."

Sonic: "I won't."

He pulls out the newly remodeled sheath. He puts it back in.

Tails: "Come see me after."

At the table.

Rouge: "So you're leaving us?"

Amy: "Not necessarily. Just heading back home to check."

Sally: "That's good Amy. And you're going Shadow?"

Shadow: "Yeah."

Rouge: "And me. Could use a break from all this anyway."

Knuckles: "I wish I could join too but I duty is to the master emerald right now."

Shadow: "Speaking of which, shouldn't you be watching it."

Knuckles: "My shift is over. Someone else is watching."

Sonic and tails enter the room.

Sonic: "What's going on out here. I want to be part of it."

Amy: "Oh nothing much. Just talking about me leaving?"

Sonic: "Leaving?"

Amy: "Yeah, but not forever. Just visiting family."

Sonic: "That's awesome. And what about you shads?"

Shadow: "I'll be heading with her."

Sonic: "Good to know. But what about your brothers?"

Shadow: "If they show up. I'll be there."

Sonic: "Anyway, so any luck finding them?"

Shadow: "No, but the kid did."

Tails walks in with his projector and documents he got from Elias. He plugs it up and shows the screen on the board. Right when he is about to log in Cream walks in.

Amy: "Hi Cream."

Cream: "Hi Amy. hi everyone."

Rouge: "Hey little lady. Where'd you just come from."

Cream: "the chaotix detective agency."

Shadow: "How are they doing?"

Cream: "They're fine."

Sonic creeps slowly next to tails with a venomous look.

Sonic: "Yo Tails. Your girlfriend is here."

He tries punching Sonic away. With an annoyed face.

Sonic: "Hehehe…"

Tails: "Screw you man."

She walks around the corner to see Tails and gives him a hug. Sonic stares at him while tails hugs her back and lifts up a middle finger to him behind her back.

Cream: "Any luck finding them?"

Tails: "Yep got it all right here."

He pulls up the pictures of Gloom and Despara. Everyone starts gathering around. They look close to the pictures.

Tails: "Well everyone. Now we got a new enemy."

Sonic: "New adventure, old and new enemies."

Knuckles: "So again who's the woman."

Sonic: "I don't want to talk about her man."

Shadow: "She goes by the name of Despara. Very ambitious lady."

Cream: "She's scary looking."

Rouge: "Meh, she's got poor taste."

He flips to another slide of the white house images and shows Terios. Shadow stands up and gets a closer look. He breathes in and exhales out. Sonic looks at the him and terios.

Cream: "Is that him? the one you've been talking about?"

Tails: "Terios."

Sally: "Wow. It's like looking at a mirror."

Sonic: "I liked that guy."

Amy: "He was shy and nice."

Knuckles: "So is there anymore clones or secret brothers out there we should be worried about."

Shadow: "He told me by his knowledge, there is only us three of us."

Knuckles: "Okay Just checking."

He flips to video clip of the spy that's in the woods with the black arms. he is not shown but has a camera out showing a lot of black arms moving wood. Trees and setting up camps. He walks around showing everything. Egg pawns are there with saws for hands.

Tails: "Elias told us, he has a spy in Spagonia. He managed to get us this."

?: "Right now these things are digging deep down from the crater they left. Only the hire ups chosen can get in. I hear explosions almost every hour. Sounds they're using explosions."

The video ends with one of those big lasers Eggman invented and built being shown by the spy.

Sally: "It's one of those lasers."

Sonic: "Laser?"

Tails: "It's on of eggman's inventions. He showed us one and let us keep it."

Sonic: "How much damage does it do?"

Knuckles: "It powerful enough to leave nothing but a crater."

Tails: "He tested it."

Sonic: "Oh man. Well, where is that laser he left you?"

Tails: "With rotor. He's taking a look at it."

He flips to some more intel. An audio log from the spy waiting in spagonia.

?: "There are some strange things happening around here. lots of monsters. Warriors ready for battle. I never seen anything like it. seems like they're gonna make their move again. I overheard an operation happening somewhere out in the sea. Some underwater operation. Have no idea what it is but it's happening. I manage to sneak away as one of their own. Don't ask how I do it but just know I'm able to do it. Again, I keep my identity a secret just in case this fails to reach you. I know this will go in the right hands but lets just say you know me hedgehog."

Shadow: "Hedgehog?"

Rouge: "What does he mean "you know me?"

Knuckles: "Espio?"

Cream: "No. It doesn't sound like him. it's different.

Sonic: "Could he be talking about you? me?"

Shadow: "He knew it'll end up in the right hands. Could be someone we know."

Tails: "We'll get a chance to meet him soon."

He flips to another audio log from the spy.

?: "Minus the fact that I get paid to do this. I took this job to see if the rumors were true. Couldn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. That gloom guy. He looks exactly like you but with the blue hedgehog's personality. I'd like to get a shot at him, but time is of the essence. Seems like they're digging tunnels. To where I don't know. seems like they're digging towards the city. Heading deeper into the catacombs. What did they bury deep into the catacombs?"

Shadow: "That's a real good question. What did they bury down deep in there?"

Sonic: "Why not ask them yourselves."

Tails: "We tried. Said it was top secret."

Rouge: "Yeah and they sure know about it."

He flips to another audio log.

?: "What in the actual fuck is going on out here. The black arms just abandoned the area. I trailed them towards another part of the spagonia. Seems like the operation fell but they have another camp. They said they can't cause to much suspicion by continuing in the woods where they were digging. Said they're going to move on their other operation at Mt stormtop and the sea operation until the military leaves so they don't cause any trouble."

Rouge: "Hey. Omega is there."

Shadow: "So there is an operation going on at Mt. Stormtop."

Sally: "Dragon kingdom."

Sonic: "Yo sal. Are you still in touch with Dulcy?"

Sally: "I think so. Just gotta dig in my old contacts."

He flips to another log.

?: "That Mistress. The lady in charge. She freaking crazy. Just saw her impale a man and ate his eyes out. I still remember him screaming. I really hope you can take her down."

Sonic: "Despara. We fought her on the comet."

He goes to another log.

?: "This the last one for a while. I need more time. I suggest looking into the other operations going on out there while I watch from the shadow's in here. I'll call you in for more details."

Tails: "Well that's all we got."

Rouge: "It must be serious for them to be discreet about it."

Knuckles: "My question is why would they be cautious if they an army big enough to burst right in the spagonian catacombs and take what's there?"

Shadow: "Cause maybe they'll move it instantly and they'll have to go on a wild goose chase. Besides they got other things to take care of in order for the grand scheme to take place."

Sonic: "Question is what is it?"

Tails: "Well that's all Elias could give me about what's happening in spagonia. Take a look at this.

He exits out and goes on the news website. He pulls up a video.

News reporter: "in the midst of the crisis still pouring on, folks and locals have witnessed some strange occurrence's happening near velico beach towards the ocean. Locals have been seeing boats and the a military organization working near whale island.

Sonic: Whale island? The sea palace."

Knuckles: "I remember that place. We were there long time ago."

Shadow: "what does the ocean have to do with anything?"

Witness: "I overheard that these are not military. They're the terrorist organization that crippled the UF known as the black arms."

Witness 2: "I saw huge machinery out there. This is an unusual occurrence. I lived here for years. There's nothing out there but the ocean palace. Seems like it's restricted in these waters until further notice."

Witness 3: "I tried sailing out there to make big catches for my company. They pulled up on boats with guns and threatened us to turn back. They're not pirates."

Rouge: "Guess they don't want anyone near those waters."

Tails: "Yep and I think I know why."

Sonic: "Why?"

Tails: "Shadow. Remember when I told you the fact that you destroyed the black comet years ago pieces of it would fall towards the planet?"

Shadow: "Yeah."

Tails: "I did receive that meteors were falling around that area years back. They might be doing underwater excavation there. Maybe that's why they're keeping people away, so they don't interfere with their plans."

Shadow: "That would seem like it. So we're definitely certain there's another piece of the comet is around those waters. Around those islands.

Sonic: "Of course it has to be around water. Just my luck."

Sally: "All these years and you still can't swim?"

Amy: "No! Nope."

She answers her with an evil grin staring at sonic. He looks a bit mad and annoyed from her.

Sonic: "Lady, tell the whole world why don't ya."

He flips to another image. Eggmans robots in the dragon kingdom jungles.

Tails: "Seems like Eggman is on the move again. his robots were spotted near mt. stormtop with black arms technology."

Sonic: "Still got a debt to pay with that guy."

Amy: "Why is he helping them?"

Rouge: "Y'know Eggman as usual.

Shadow: "Trying to be like his grandfather. Selling out his own people for research. Or maybe a greater purpose."

Sonic: "That greater purpose is world domination. Egghead never changes."

He flips to the village and see's gloom and lev talking near a café.

Knuckles: "The guy in the tux. Who is he?"

Shadow: "Looks like a higher up."

Sonic: "He was there that day at the white house. He said I already knew him. Whatever that means."

Tails: "Silver, Blaze and Bunnie knows. They'll be able to debrief him once we get moving."

Sonic: "I don't like the looks of him. keep going."

Tails: "well that's all we got for now. Rotor will fill us in about the laser that hit Holaska."

Shadow: "Why would they target there?"

Tails: "We still don't know why. But they'll get to the bottom of it."

He shuts off the projector.

Sonic: "Welp guess I'll go check it out."

Shadow: "No. You can't interfere. Not just yet."

Sonic: "I mean we can't just be sitting here watching these guys assemble the pieces together of whatever it is they're planning. I say we stop them before they get the chance to even start it."

Shadow: "And how exactly are you gonna do that? That's an entire army you're challenging."

Sonic: "Not my first time."

Sally: "Sonic?"

She glares at him in a motherly tone. Sonic looks at her.

Sonic: "Stop it. stop giving me that look."

Sally: "He's right. What are you going to do? Cause last time I check you were beaten nearly to death by his clone. A nation fell to it's knees and you couldn't do a thing about it. So I ask you, what are you going to do hedgehog? Bust right in? We barely escaped the prison and the black comet."

Sonic: …

Shadow: "And my counterparts will be there ready for you and it's not like you can handle them by yourself."

He exhales and sits down.

Sally: "Just slow down blue. We're not going anywhere anytime soon."

Sonic: "Yeah…"

Shadow: "But I suggest you do what you do best."

Sonic: "What's that?"

Shadow: "Go after eggman. You stop eggman. We might have a chance at stopping the black arms."

Sonic: "Heh. Couldn't agree more."

He stands up and whips out his sword.

Sally: "Haven't seen that blade in a while."

Tails: "I do top notch work. That blade maybe one of my greatest masterpieces.

Amy: "Please don't lose it. I seen how powerful it is."

Tails: "It won't overload. I promise you that."

A blur of shadow's vision comes in. A headache comes in. He looks around and sees something. A dark figure standing over Tails balcony. It's familiar and it disappears. Shadow only got a glimpse.

Shadow: "Was that…?"

His best friend slash partner touches him. he looks down to see her.

Rouge: "You alright?"

Shadow: "Yeah why?"

Rouge: "Just checking. You looked a bit paranoid."

Shadow: "Yeah. Just thought I saw something."

Rouge: "Oh hey. Any chance you still have the emeralds?"

Shadow: "Yeah. I have my two. Sonic has two."

Rouge: "Good to know it's in safe hands."

Shadow: "yeah. no need to worry. I say we don't worry about them anytime soon. We got bigger problems anyway."

Cream walks over to shadow.

Cream: "Hey shadow."

Shadow: "Oh hey Cream."

Cream: "Any chance you could teach me how to use chaos control?"

Shadow: "Uhhh… Maybe when you're older lady. Exactly what part of chaos control are you trying to learn."

Cream: "The one where you teleport."

Shadow: "Oh good luck with that."

Cream: "Oh c'mon why can't learn?"

Shadow: "First off you're too young. Second it takes a lot of training time and energy. Third I was made from it so It's easy for me to just-"

He teleports next to her.

Shadow: "Snap somewhere else."

He teleports again sitting in a chair.

Cream: "Looks easy enough."

Shadow: "It's not that simple. Ask the faker."

Sonic looks back overhearing that.

Sonic: "Hey it took me less than two days to figure it out. It actually saved my life."

Amy: "Yeah but you almost died."

Sally: "How exactly?"

Tails: "Oh we fought eggman on the ark once and he almost blew up in space."

Sally: "Seems you guys had one heck of adventures without me."

Sonic: "Yep. and they keep getting better and easier."

Shadow: "Easy?"

Sonic: "Yep. nothing can stop us.

Shadow: "hmph until you make that one slip up and your days are numbered."

Sonic: "Relax. We toppled zavok and his goons of the zeti. Kicked a master of infinite illusions butt. we owned Eggman since as long as I could remember and a copy of him from another dimension. Defeated my copy over a dozen times. I defeated a literal god of destruction at the center of the planet. We stopped and plugged a black hole. And we kicked these guys ass before and we'll do it again. We defeated so many baddies it's not even funny anymore. What and who is gonna stop us?"

Shadow: "My overly matched sibling."

Sonic: "Hey we got you. You can take him with that power of yours. And my speed. He doesn't stand a chance."

Shadow: "Aren't you forgetting about eggman and his army of robots. Not to mention the black arm's joining forces with him. Remember what happened last time?"

Sonic: "Hey we'll do it together next time. I know you and him have some unfinished business. I'll leave him to you. when the time is right I'll be there right next to you. Just like last time."

Shadow: "Hmph. Still we gotta deal with Terios and then we get to Gloom."

Sonic: "Just leave egghead to me. I'll hand him his breakfast on the sheet metal of his robots."

Shadow: "Hmph. Weeks away from us and you haven't changed."

Sonic: "Never have. Never will."

They fist bump it. Amy looks in amazement and gets a significant flashback to when they were always heroes. Saving the world. The two are duos at their best. A tear drops from her eye. She wipes it off and smiles.

Amy Conscience: "I love them both."

Tails: "And if you guys need help. I'll be there."

Knuckles: "Right behind you."

Cream: "And me."

Sally: "I'll be standing right next to you."

Amy: "You know I'll be there whenever you need me."

Sonic: "Heh heh. Watch out Gloom, Terios, Eggman. I got my army and allies ready as well."

Meanwhile

In the workshop is a doom eye. It has it's eyes on them. Out miles away from the workshop. The black hedgehog sits on tree branch. Seems like he learned how to make a doom eye. He was watching and listening.

Terios: "Hm. Can't wait to see them again."
