Chapter 67: The New Tornado

Morning comes in. The pink hedgehog wakes up to find Shadow missing again. She can hear water running, but she knows she turned the bathroom water off last night. She sits up rubbing her eyes covering herself to hear water in the bathroom finishing. He goes towards the door and opens it rubbing his hair with his cloth. He took a nice bath. He walks out to see his pink lover awake and smiling.

Amy: "Good morning."

Shadow: "Good morning to you, my dear rose."

He tosses the towel to the side and walks closely teleporting to her on the side of the bed.

Shadow: "Did you sleep well?"

Amy: "Very."

She raises her hand to his face and kisses him. He returns the favor while holding her hand to his face.

Shadow: "Feel better from last night?"

Amy: "Yeah. A lot better."

Shadow: "Good. Did I tell you my brother came by?"

Amy: "Wait, what?"

Shadow: "Terios. He showed up last night."

Amy: "Wait. He just popped up out of nowhere last night? Here?"

Shadow: "In this room lady. He didn't do too much. Just wanted to see is all."

Amy: "That's it? Just visited you? Was gloom with him?"

Shadow: "Nah just him. Seems my dear brother has got him spying on us."

She starts turning red. Her face blank and embarrassed, just like back in the cabin. He grins chuckling away.

Shadow: "It's okay. He left. Before you got out of the shower."

Amy: "Oh thank chaos. I thought he saw more than that."

Shadow: "Nah. He left in a hurry. Seems like he had other business to set."

Amy: "That's really strange he would follow us. Why would he be following us?"

Shadow: "He told me gloom was watching. He's always got his eyes on me. I say don't change the channel."

Amy: "I say please do."

Shadow: "Relax, I don't think Terios would be that type of person."

Amy: "I know Gloom is."

Shadow: "What makes you think that?"

She remembers their encounter on the island before he escaped. He smacked her on the ass and left. She still blushes and slides it off.

Amy: *Embarrassed* "I'd rather not talk about it."

Amy conscience: "Yeah. Nothing alike my ass."

She scoots off the bed and puts on her underwear. A knock comes at the door and Amy walks over to it. she opens to see one of the maids.

Maid: "Madam rosy. Your mother was wondering if you wish for some breakfast."

Amy: "Yes please. That would be nice. Tell her we'll be down."

Maid: "Yes ma'am."

She walks away and Amy closes the door.

Shadow: "Well what she say?"

Amy: "Breakfast."

He licks his lips and gets ready. She picks out a dress from her suit case. She dresses in a green op ring dress with yellow slippers. Almost like her classic self but different. She opens the door. She waits for him. He teleports next to her and closes the door.

Shadow: "Coming?"

She closes the door and holds his hand and shoulder.

Meanwhile

Acorn palace

She wakes up to find her boyfriend missing and the window open. She rubs her hair and remembers her wonderful night with him. Always in a hurry she thinks. She gets up and stretching her back. She starts blushing from the events that occurred the night before. She puts on her jacket and reaches for her phone. She checks it to see a text from Sonic.

Sonic Text: "Sorry to leave so early. Tails needed me."

She exhales knowing where he went. She text him back.

Sally Text: "Ok. Thanks for last night XOXO ;)"

Tails workshop

He leans against the wall with his arms folded. He smiles with music in his head. A text comes on his phone. He checks it. It's from sally. He smiles at it. He opens his phone and marks it as read. He closes it and gets back to business with tails. He finishes upgrading his blade.

Tails: "Alright. I made a new trick into this thing."

Sonic: "Awesome bud, what can it do now?"

Tails: "I made it easy so whatever robots Eggman sends to you, Blitz can overload them faster when you pierce into them. The electrical output has more juice in it now so longer the shockwave. That also means you'll be able to bypass security systems or something blocking your way. I've also figured out a way to store a virus on it so it could turn enemies into allies, but I don't have the right components at this moment."

Sonic: "Sweet. Don't worry, if I come across anything out there, I'll bring them to you."

Tails: "Great. Also, if you want I could change the coloring on it anytime. Whatever look or cool design you can think of. In fact, I have some ideas of my own you might like."

Sonic: "Yeah. I'll look into it."

He walks away while Sonic looks at the blade. He checks out the sheath. It looks a bit different. More dark blue but he doesn't mind it. He follows him into his hangar to see the new plane tails is almost finished building.

Sonic: *Whistle* "Not bad."

Tails: "Wait till you see it in action. I decided to start from scratch. Just gotta order another jet engine."

Sonic: "Honestly, don't you ever run out of metal sometimes."

Tails: "You'd be amazed the amount of destroyed robot's Eggmans built over the years battling you. The amount of junkyards he leaves behind just so they can be converge into something better. I take what you destroy."

Sonic: "Sounds right to me."

He looks on the walls and blue prints of future inventions coming. He looks on another board showing Shadow and his dark matter rings.

Sonic: "So Tails. About those rings on Shadow? So they keep him at bay?"

Tails: "Not necessarily. It does keep whatever is happening to him down. He said couldn't control himself and his powers. If he want's he could take them off anytime."

Sonic: "Will he go crazy?"

Tails: "I don't know. until he starts doing it, he's on his own. I say Shadow should use it as a last resort. Incase if he needs to unleash his full power."

Sonic: "I did see him better without it. But I'm glad you made them."

He sits down next to his laptop. Sonic looks at the pictures of him, Terios, and Gloom. List of pros and cons. A lot more cons than pros. One of the major risk is Amy on the list underlined in red. He stares at her name.

Sonic: "Seems I'm not the only one worried about her."

He walks towards one of the blueprints. It shows a weapon of the laser they found from the prison.

Sonic: "Yo Tails! Isn't that the laser thing rotor was talking about?"

Tails: "Yeah, we manage to steal it from the prison, remember? We're gonna use it against them."

Sonic: "Nice. So, when is this thing gonna be ready?"

Tails: "Approximately a week. Been working on it ever since we came out of the hospital. Already got the plans out for my minibots to help me craft it."

A tiny tails bot with a blue antenna on his head crawls out from his desk. Two to three others jump out and walk towards him. He grabs them all and connects a USB in his tablet and them. Their hands turn into hammers and drills to craft, screw or, puncture.

Tails: "Wanna help me build this thing?"

Sonic: "Heck yeah!"

He takes out his phone and connects it to some speakers. Tails picks out the first song.

Gang Starr – Above the clouds

His robots march inside the new engine while he works on the wings. Sonic goes out to gather more metal. With his help it speed up the process. he brings in support beams and sits them on the side. He goes on the back propellor to help piece in the tail wings. Tails helps him with the instructions. Tails has a box full of screws and a screwdriver. He works on the control panel on the pilot seat. He makes two more seats behind him for the future. He enlists some machine guns on the side and a 3d printer on the inside to craft replaceable missiles to fire at his enemies. Tails and sonic melt a few metal beams and bars in his furnace and start crafting the plane wings. He draws it out on paper to Sonic how they should look on the new tornado. Sonic gets his hammer and bangs on it. He uses his super speed to slow down time for him and bangs on it bit by bit. Tails grabs a blow torch and engineer's away on the wing. The robots on the inside receive wires from the outside from Tails. They start connecting and setting it up onto the engine.

5 hours Later

They put on one of the finishing touches. The plane looks like a jet. It looks like the X tornado but different. It's primary color is yellow with red stripe linings on it. A white and green lining on the wings. the two are eating their burgers and fries they went and bought. They stare at the tornado 4. They check the phone while his tv runs.

Sonic: "Man. It's amazing. So when we're going testing it?"

Tails: "Don't think I'm done here. I still got a few more kinks to work out before I go test it. and I still need to add my secret weapon on it."

Sonic: "What is it?"

Tails: "Wouldn't be a secret now, would it?"

Sonic: "Good point. Surprise me bud."

A footstep walks in. Silver.

Silver: "Nice plane."

Sonic: "Hey Silv.

Silver: "Hi Sonic. Thought we might stop by and check you and tails."

Sonic: "We?"

A purple cat walks from around the corner in her formal attire. White pants and purple top. She walks in and greets them with a smile.

Blaze: "Hey guys."

Sonic: "Hey blaze."

Tails: "Hey."

Blaze: "It's nice to see you again. How are you doing?"

Sonic: "Great. Been out getting better. Decided to do some personal thinking."

Silver: "Last time I saw you. You were bruised."

Sonic: "He got lucky. Next time he better be ready for the real deal."

Blaze: "So I haven't gotten the full story to what happen that day."

Sonic: "Well. Ya see, what happened was…"

Meanwhile

He walks down the road. The black hedgehog makes his way towards Tails workshop out in the open but nobody's around. He makes his way to the front door and tries to knock but decides not to. He can hear them talking from around the other side. He decides to walk around the house and towards the hangar. He gets closer and knows he's in there. It's a good thing.

Silver: "Wow. I wish I'd went on the ark with you guys. See for myself of what really went down."

Sonic: "Yep, I'm still pretty shocked too about it. I mean it makes sense that maybe just maybe they were going to build an army of him but I don't know."

Blaze: "So this Terios, what's he like?"

Tails: "I think you're about to find out."

They see tails with his eyes open staring out at the hangar entrance. Sonic turns his head. They both follow along to see the black hedgehog who's armored up standing before them. Sonic slowly reaches for his sword just incase. Blaze and Silver stare blankly at the uninvited guest that just so happen to walk in. He reaches behind him to grab something and silver holds him with his telekinetic powers.

Tails: "Let go Silver. Trust me. It's not gonna be necessary."

Terios: "Forgive my intrusion, but I did not come here for a fight."

He lets him go and he's free to move his arms and legs. He takes off his helmet and looks at the two. Silver recognizes the face that waved away at the plane. Blaze's heart stops. She looks at the hedgehog. It's like looking at a mirror. They both see the exact resemblances of Shadow and Gloom. They weren't kidding. They haven't properly met him but at least one of them recognizes him.

Silver: "Woah."

Blaze: "Wow."

Sonic: "Well it's been a while. I assume Gloom kicked you out of black arm club or did he have you to come spy on us?"

Terios: "Neither. I came at my own free will."

Sonic: "Decide to join the good fight huh?"

Terios: "You could say that. We require your assistance."

Sonic: "Huh?"

Terios: "We need your help."

Tails: "We?"

Terios: "The black arms and I.

Sonic: "Sorry dude, we're not helping Gloom nor Eggman in their plans. And you got a lot of nerve showing up like this after what you and your black arm groupies pulled two months ago."

Terios: "I can see your mistrust in me. It's not just about them. We can't do anything at this moment."

Tails: "And why is that?"

Terios: "We kinda have problems of our own. I'll make it worth your while."

He takes out a flash drive.

They all look at each other and look back at him.

Minutes later Tails pulls up images on his computer to show them the situation happening at Holaska. The battles and lost soldiers that manage to show clips of what's going on. It's like a battle royal between Eggmans robots, Black arms, and mutated ones.

Sonic: "Wow, not surprised eggman double crossed you guys. In fact it's kinda funny. Ha ha."

Terios: "He didn't. something up there is preventing us from gathering intel. An abandon research facility that Gloom discovered in Holaska. We're having a hard time getting in."

Tails: "It's abandon. How the heck did you guys find this place?"

Terios: "That information is classified to me. I am willing to figure it out as well."

Silver: "So when did this started happening?"

Terios: "Last week. Our forces have either been mutated, lost, or destroyed trying to figure out what's going on and what intel there is to gather there."

Sonic: "And you want us to go there ourselves."

Terios: "Yes."

Tails: "Wait, how do we not know that we won't turn into one of those things there? Your people have been turning. How do we know it won't happen to us?"

Sonic: "Yeah."

Terios: "Because, the robots that the doctor sends there haven't been infected once. Nor has he himself. He tested it."

Blaze: "So it only works on you and your kind?"

Terios: "It seems that way."

Sonic: "Ha! That means we don't have to do anything. You can't find out what it is there, nor can we help you with that parade of freaks killing your forces. It's basically not our problem. Besides it means whatever you got planning isn't gonna go the way it should."

Terios: "Precisely but, eggman is building more machines to send there. building weapons for the black arms too. They're only being held back at this moment. You can beat them to it. You probably will find something there before we do."

Tails: "Yeah. but it also helps you get what you're looking for as well."

Terios: "Maybe. I don't know what's up there."

Blaze: "It could be a weapon or something else to unleash upon the world."

Silver: "Maybe. I don't know guys. Seems kinda weird that we would be helping the enemy."

Terios glares at him for a moment. Emotionless. Sonic looks back at him with a dark look.

Silver: "Not saying that you are, but if we do go up there then what? What is it that we're looking for?"

Terios: "I don't know. I don't know what's up there waiting for you. I do know that you'll be in the way of their agenda."

Sonic: "Sounds like fun but my only question is this. Why haven't you gone to Shadow first about this? Does he even know that you're here?"

Terios: "No."

Sonic: "Does Gloom know you're here?"

Terios: "No."

Sonic: "Then why us?"

Terios: "Because… I fear that something may happen to him up there. No black arm can enter the quarantined zone. Shadow is part black arm."

Tails: "He does have point there. None of them can enter but we probably can."

Terios: "Besides, I figured you to be the best candidates."

Blaze: "You obviously wouldn't be sending us to a trap, would you?"

Terios: "No. Besides, giving the situation at hand you're one of the only people I know could possibly get in. Plus you all seem like a reliable assets."

They all look at him. Sonic rubbing his face and head.

Terios: "I'll leave you for a moment to think about it."

He walks away. He stands outside the hangar looking out at the ocean. While he waits the four come together to discuss it.

Tails: "What do you think?"

Sonic: "Well, we can't look the other and turn this down, that's for sure."

Tails: "I say this information could prove useful."

Silver: "Why would he help us? Isn't he working with the enemy?"

Tails: "Well you see, there are some black arms out there that don't personally agree with their leaders."

Sonic: "Yeah, you ran into one of them?"

Tails: "Two. They actually helped us rescue you on the black comet. Seems that there are some on the inside that don't agree with the leaders ideology."

Sonic: "Yeah. While I was being held captive, there was this girl who was nice to me. She helped me escape."

Blaze: "Maybe something else is going on in the organization they are part with. A coupe maybe?"

Sonic: "Whatever it is, I'm down with whatever that stands in the way of Eggman's and their plans."

Silver: "I agree with that."

Sonic: "Lets not forget that he's also a risk. Even though he's telling us this, lets remember who he's playing for. I don't know what he's got planning but I'm going."

Tails: "I'm going too. You'll need me."

Silver: "I might as well tag along. See what these things are all about."

Blaze: "You're going to need the fire in the freezing cold."

Tails: "We should still tell Shadow and the others about what we're going to do and what happened right now."

Sonic: "We will."

He walks towards Terios.

Sonic: "Alright Terios. You got our attention. We'll head there as soon as possible."

Terios: "I am glad you've taken my offer. When should I expect you to be there?"

Sonic: "Yo tails! When you'll be able to fly this bird?"

Tails: "Give me about two days."

Sonic: "Three days."

Terios: "Excellent. I'll be having someone to meet you guys at these coordinates."

He hands him a piece of paper with numbers on it. Sonic grabs it. He walks away heading out towards the evening darkness until sonic says something.

Sonic: "You know you don't have to be his puppet."

Terios: "I know."

He walks out and disappears. Sonic looks out, he left fast. No sign or trace of him. He thinks about shadow for a moment and walks back inside.

Sonic: "Will it be ready?"

Tails: "Trust me. It will."

Sonic: "Good. Think this thing might be our best work."
