"Quite the city..." Lust mused, leaning back on her seat. "Does really make one wonder why they bother with us..."

"The same reason we bothered with later Generations." Death pointed out softly, sitting ram-rod straight on his own chair near the window of his guestroom. "Cannon fodder... Why bother fighting demons when you can get someone else to do it." He pulled Harvester out. "It is the only thing they can gain."

"You're being positive." Contrary to what most people assumed, she was a shrewd woman, whose shrewdness just happened to manifest in seduction. "I do believe you were War's proponent to the rest when he first brought up accepting the angelic offer."

"Because even a fraction of a chance that we get allies against Lilith needed to be taken." The Second-in-command of the Nephilim pointed out. "And their food and healing arts are already increasing our people's strength."

A very factual statement. The 'alliance' had existed for only a few months, but the improvements with the increased foodreserves and angelic healing-abilities were already clear. A few teenagers that had reached their growth spurts were growing far faster than the expected average. The few babies that had been born were larger and stronger than most that had preceded them.

"I guess we are all using one another." The red-clad female muttered, frowning a touch. "As long as we survive, I will be happy."

"That... we'll see after that Autumn-attack." Harvester flexed, moving from it's small scythe-shape into a dagger. "Angels are not known for their duplicity, but stranger things have happened recently so it would not even surprise me if we learn they intentionally worsened Lilith's anger at us."

"Ah yes... That is a concern. On the matter of angelic duplicity; Thal told me he sensed Abaddon teleport after that one feast." She slipped back to the universal tongue. "The one he left early... and you weren't even there, for that matter."

"I hardly ever attend feasts, Lust." He quirked an eyebrow at her, orange eyes unreadable to anyone who did not knew him well. Of course, being that she was a fellow Firstborn Nephilim, she had known him his entire life and while he had plenty secrets - they all had - she did know him well.

"Oh, of course." She purred. "But considering how early he made the comment, I feel you had your own private one." Channeling their mother - something she really could not help herself with, being the closest thing Lilith had had to a second favourite child - she smirked. "Testing what I and War see in angelic lovers?"

"No." He dryly countered. "We were in fact bonding over how insane the entire thing is. War and Azrael of all people should not have been a couple. I still don't see what War sees in him."

"I am sure most angels ask the same thing in reverse." Lust sat upright again, giving no indication of what she thought of his statement. "One does not need to be an empath on most gatherings to tell that short of Cahethal himself, all other angels are quite upset at the match. And even he flinches when Azrael submits to War."

"It's a mess." Death for the umpteenth time wished his brother had been able to control his urges... or that Azrael had controlled his.

"It might be a good mess though, if we survive Autumn." His fellow Firstborn mused. "The next generation is going to be interesting... a bunch of War's."

"Please tell me you are not pregnant by your angel..." He gave her a flat glare. "That would be the bacon on top of the ham..."

"Not that I know, at least." She chuckled. "Apparently, if he managed, he'd be hearing from his aunt. She personally informs all her close relatives, which is really weird when you think about it."
