Authors Notes- And here I am back again with Chapter 9. As you figured out by now I own nothing aside from Mr Stalker Man (Not his real name...) While Hiro Mashima owns Fairy Tail. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter 9.
There she was! His heart fluttered as Levy stepped out of the hotel with that brute in tow. He clenched his jaw when he saw the look Gajeel was giving Levy as she chattered on and on about something Gajeel couldn't possibly understand. But he wasn't here to watch him his gaze settled on Levy once more. A small smile forming on his lips, god, she was more radiant than his dreams, and soon she would be his.
He just needed to get Gajeel out of the way but how? Worrying at his bottom lip he wracked his brain for an idea when suddenly it came to him, a dark look crossed over his face as he walked away. He would allow Gajeel to enjoy his brief time with Levy, after all... it wouldn't be long before Levy was his...
"How did you find out about this place?" Gajeel asked, as the two of them stepped through the doors of the quaint little restaurant Levy had lead them to. His eyes scanning the place as the Hostess lead them to a booth closer to the back, the two of them taking a seat.
"Lucy told me about this place the last time she came here on a job. Looks like they finally got the renovations done since then." Levy said, looking around the place. "As you can imagine Natsu over did it again when they ended up fighting some bandits that came here wanting to cause some trouble." She added, unable to keep the smile from her face.
Recalling the time Lucy sat down and complained to her about it, and how thanks to him she been barely able to pay rent. Sometimes Levy had to wonder how Lucy was able to find the patience to continue to work with Natsu despite him constantly over doing it. Don't get her wrong she liked Natsu well enough, but the Fire Dragon slayers tendency to over do things would have had her wanting to work solo from now on.
"Yeah Salamander does seem like he's unable to hold back, unlike your truly." Gajeel said, the corner turning upwards as he leaned back.
Levy couldn't help but laugh at that. "True, but you have to admit, he does achieve results."
Gajeel rolled his eyes as their food arrived. Silence permeating between the two of them as they took a few bites. A low moan escaping Levy's lips, as her eyes slide closed.
"Good?" he asked, looking to her, as she nodded. Gajeel smiled as he watched her take another bite, however before they could truly enjoy their meals and their time together there was a loud explosion coming from the front of the restaurant.
Causing both of them to turn around as the windows shattered, spraying glass all over the other patrons. Screams and cries of shock echoed all around them as Levy and Gajeel leapt from their seats, and moved towards the front of the building. As more explosions sounded.
Levy let out a gasp as she saw the chaos before her. Bloodstained the floor as people sobbed and screamed all around her. To her right a woman lay next to what she could only assume was her son, the child no more than three or four, blood streaming down his little face, tears spilling from bright blue eyes looking up at Levy pleadingly.
Levy felt her heart soften as she crouched before them. Offering him a sweet smile as she busied herself with patching him and his mom up. Offering him a few kinds words as Gajeel worked on a few others. His words, to no surprise to her, were a bit on the harsh side and gruff, making her shake her head as she offered the boy another smile. His mother thanking her as she moved to help someone else when-
"Miss... Miss can you please help me?" A voice grabbed her attention. Turning around as a frantic blonde haired man with wire rimmed glasses sitting askew on his face, his hands immediately finding her shoulders. Nails digging into the skin, making her wince slightly. "Miss, it's my wife s-she's hurt, she won't stop bleeding." He stammered.
"Okay, okay can you show me where she is?" Levy asked, giving his shoulder a squeeze as he shot her a shaky smile as he turned away from her. Following after him, she cast a glance backwards to where Gajeel was busy bandaging a young mans forehead. Turning away once more as she followed the man to a nearby alley.
Noting that the buildings surrounding the little restaurant were all equally wrecked, and Levy couldn't help but wonder what happened as she stepped into a messy alley. Her eyes immediately going to the prone form of the woman laying in a pool of her own blood. Cuts littering her body, pained groans escaping her bloody lips.
"What's her name?" Levy asked, as she crouched before the wounded woman.
"I don't know." The man's voice spoke, now devoid of emotion.
Arching an eyebrow Levy turned to face him, when- WHAM! The pipe the man held connected with the back of her skull. And that was the last thing Levy saw as the ground came rushing up to greet her...
"Where is that shrimp?" Gajeel muttered as he finished patching up one of the other patrons. With some difficulty, and it was at this moment he had wished he had brought Wendy with him.
She was more proficient at healing people, and she seemed to have better bedside manners than he did. But despite his difficulties he somehow managed to patch up the rest of the patrons. And while he was busy doing that Levy had obviously taken off in midst of all the chaos. And now here he was standing the middle of the ruined restaurant, watching as the wounded were carted out and into hospitals. And still no sign of Levy. Worrying at his bottom lip, red eyes scanning the area for the blue haired Solid Script wizard.
Stepping out of the building he looked around expecting to see her, but still Levy was nowhere to be seen, where was she? When out of the blue the answer to his unspoken question came out of the alley. Gajeel watched as paramedics moved to load a frantic looking young woman into an ambulance.
"No! You don't understand! There's a woman in trouble back there!"
That got his attention. Moving towards the gurney that held the distraught woman. Stopping the paramedics in their tracks, ignoring the questioning looks from the two men. Moving towards her he crouched down before her. "Tell me about this woman in trouble." Gajeel asked, ignoring the protests of the paramedics.
The girl looked to him, showing him the extent of her injuries, her right eye was a bloody mess and there were gashes littering her face. Blood dribbled from her bloody lips, tears welling in her uninjured eye. "A w-woman was snatched when she was trying to help me. S-some man grabbed her..."
Dread formed in the pit of Gajeel's stomach. Placing his hand on the edge of the gurney he inched closer it couldn't possibly be Levy, could it? "This woman," he urged, heart thundering in his chest. "What did she look like?"
"Sir, we really need to-
"Just give me a moment!" Gajeel snapped, glaring at the paramedics, before turning his attention back to the woman. The woman in question swallowed and struggled to speak, making Gajeel lean forward a bit more to hear her. "S-she had the blue hair and wore this dress a-and..." the woman swallowed again.
That cemented his suspicions, someone had snatched Levy, but why? However before Gajeel could ask anything else of the poor woman the paramedics shoved him out of the way, loading the woman into a waiting ambulance. Heart thundering in his chest Gajeel moved towards the alley where they had found the woman. His eyes widening when he spotted her ribbon. Rushing over he scooped the ribbon up. Who could have grabbed her and why? Casting one final glance around the alley, blood staining ground where the woman once lay.
Seeing nothing that would indicate who might have taken Levy he let out a frustrated growl. Looking down at the ribbon clutched tightly in his hand, bringing it up to his nose and inhaled. He was no bloodhound but maybe just maybe he would be able to pick up the scent of whoever grabbed her. Closing his eyes he inhaled once more. Nothing, nothing except of the shampoo Levy used and something inherently Levy. Letting out another frustrated growl as he turned away from the alley. Gnawing at his bottom lip as he watched as things eventually went back to normal, blood, glass, and other bits of debris littered the ground. This was all a set up, Gajeel mused, hand on his chin. A set up to grab Levy. But why?
That was the big question. Did Levy know something that someone could be interested in? Perhaps there was more to this job she took than meets they eye. Maybe she found out something that someone didn't like? Or maybe... Brow furrowing a thought came to the forefront of his mind. He remembered the feeling of being watched whenever he and Levy were out and about. And whenever Gajeel would turn around there would either be no one there, or he would sometimes catch a glimpse of someone watching them, and occasionally following them. Gajeel couldn't put his finger on it at the time. But there was something odd about the guy, the mans eyes always seeming to be on Levy, and that bugged him. There was a glint in his eyes whenever he looked at her. It bugged the hell out of him, could he have been who had grabbed her?
Gajeel had a feeling that was the case. Taking another sniff he closed his eyes, willing himself to take in the scent of who might have grabbed her. There! Gajeel's eyes snapped open when he caught a scent of something that wasn't Levy. A scent unlike hers this one was almost a musty scent. Something... Gajeel couldn't put his finger on it, but something about it put him on edge. Balling up the ribbon he tucked in into his pocket and turned away from the scene. His eyes blazing with determination as he shoved past a couple of people, ignoring their exclamations as he walked down the street. Tracking whoever grabbed Levy... His Levy Gajeel's thoughts came to a stop as that popped into his head, making him blink in surprise. Where did that come from?
Never in his life did he think of Levy as his and yet... And yet despite everything they've been through, and despite what he had done to her in the past she had forgiven him. And had tried more than once to reach out to him. And as time went on Gajeel found himself falling for her. And to think that someone had took her, and was probably going to hurt her and he could do nothing about it... Gritting his teeth Gajeel took a few deep breaths, the last thing he needed was to lose his temper at the wrong time. After all he needed to save his energy for the sad sack who took Levy. Nodding to himself, a cruel smile forming on his lips as he continued to hunt. Don't you worry, Shrimp. He thought darkly. I'll find you. And when I do the bastard that took you is going to wish he was never born...
