Update: Added a little dialogue to the end
"Hello doctor. Is Alexa here?" he asked. "And you are?" the doctor asked. "I'm John Cena. I'm the guy who called 911."
"Are you her husband/boyfriend?" "Her boyfriend." he replied without thinking.
"Okay. Thankfully she hasn't suffered serious internal injuries. But..." The doctor paused.
"But what?" "She still sustained a concussion when she got attacked."
"Like I said it's not serious, but she'll have to be out of action for a significant amount of time."
"Can I see her?" John said.
"She's asleep now. But you're welcome to wait in her room until she wakes up.''
He went to her room and sat next to her bed.
She had a bandage wrapped around her head.
He took her hand in his.
He couldn't help but smile and admire her lovely face.
She's cute, but she's a lot tougher than she looks. He knows not to take her lightly.
His phone suddenly started vibrating.
It was his girlfriend calling. "Hey Nikki." "John? What's wrong baby?" she asked.
"It's Alexa. She got attacked." "Oh my god! Is she okay?" "Yeah. They said she has a concussion."
"It's nothing serious, but they don't know how long she'll be out of action."
"If you need to stay with her until she gets better then it's ok." she replied.
"Are you sure?" "Yes. Just make sure to call me everyday." "Don't worry hon. I will."
He felt her hand twitching. "I've got to go. I'll call you later. Love you." he said before hanging up.
She groaned as she started to wake up.
She opened her eyes, and looked towards her right, and saw John sitting by her. She gave him a big smile. "John. You're here." She replied softly.
John smiled back. "Of course I'm here."
"How long have I been out?" she asked.
"About 3 hours." John answered.
"Really? I feel like I've slept for 3 days." she groaned.
"Do you know who attacked you?"
Tears started to form in her eyes. "No. He was wearing a mask." "I don't know who he is. Or what I did to him to deserve this."
"It's my fault. I shouldn't have left you alone." John struggled to say.
"No John. It's my fault. I should've checked to see who it was before opening the door."' Alexa sobbed.
John hugged her, "Shh. Don't cry. It's going to be ok. I'll stay with you until that S.O.B. gets caught."
Alexa gasped. "No John. I can't let you do that. You should be with Nikki. I'll be okay." She protested.
John grinned. "Too late. She already told me I should stay with you for awhile longer." "So that means you're stuck with me for a bit."
Alexa grinned. "So you'll be my Bodyguard? My Guardian? My Savior?" She joked. "Something like that."
She was secretly excited, but did her best not to show it. 'I think I can get used to having a roommate.' she thought to herself.
They stared at each other for a bit. John suddenly started to lean towards her, but a knock on the door stopped him.
"Miss Bliss?" "Yes nurse."
"We've checked you out, and you're well enough to leave."
"Really? Oh thank you."
"And I assume you will leave with your boyfriend."
Alexa seems confused. "My boyfriend?" "John Cena. He said he was your boyfriend."
She looked over at John, who raise his eyebrows at her, then she said "Oh right. Of course. My boyfriend." She laughed a little. "Yes. He'll be escorting me home."
After changing clothes and signing papers Lexi was free to go.
"You're lucky to be dating someone like him. He's a keeper." the nurse replied.
Alexa smiled. "Boy you have no idea."
Then, feeling bold, she jumped up into his arms and kissed him on the lips. She let the kiss linger for a few seconds before pulling away, and he set her back on the ground. John was obviously caught off guard from her kiss.
Her face flushed, her heart pounding.
As they waited for a cab Alexa asked "Why did you tell them you were my boyfriend?"
"It was the only way they'd let me see you."
She felt her heart race. "I can't believe you went through all that just to see me." she said before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Your well being was the only thing I could think about."
She smiled widely. "Thanks. You have no idea how much that means to me."
"Hey it's my pleasure."
During the silent ride John kept thinking about that kiss back at the hospital. Did she do it to keep the ruse going?
Or could she? He shook his head, trying his best not to think about it too much. He loves Nikki.
Meanwhile Alexa was thinking about something similar. The way John was leaning towards her.
Was he trying to kiss her? And if so, would she have let him?
She shook her head a little. With the concussion she was probably just seeing things.
Though a part of her wished it were real.
