I think it's important to explain to my readers, before they even look at the first line, what my stories are like. Beyond the procrastination, overworking, hesitation, overediting, etc, I mean. And I guess that it's always good to begin at the ending...

I am NOT a sucker for happy endings. Please understand this. I'm not exactly a cynic (well, maybe an optimistic cynic) but I do believe that at least some of my favorite pairings are doomed to end badly. What does this mean for you, my dear reader? It means, you are not always going to be happy with the story end. There's a reason I only focus on a certain part of the characters' lives, you know. Yes, I believe that they might, possibly, be in true love, whatever that means to you. But that doesn't always mean that their stories are going to be happy.

I'm not trying to search for drama. I'm not trying to look for angst. I just think that sometimes, it's there, and you have to acknowledge that yes, divorce does exist. Yes, people die all the time. Yes, suicide sometimes feels like the only way out. Does that mean that I condone any of those things? Not really. But I'm not saying that they're the end of the world, either. Literature is not some untouchable region in which good always conquers evil. I'm pretty sure that you know that. And sad as it may seem, my characters are also going to know that.

Secondly, the couples. While I would love to be one of those people who don't care about couples, I'm NOT. I have favorites, and I have...well, dislikes. And the same goes for my writing. Sometimes I'll paint their relationship one way, sometimes I'll do it the complete opposite, but they're still the same couple. I'm not sure what it is that makes me love certain pairings more than others. But there it is.

Questions I have been asked (for the entertainment of the nosy, the curious, and the bored)

All of the following are questions that I have been asked before, paraphrased to protect the identity of the asker and to provide context where needed. I have answered them below...if any of you are interested in getting to know the person behind Yarrie :)

Q: Why do you write for Digimon? Aren't you too old for it?
A: Because it was the very first fandom that I actually became active in. And the one where I got my very first OTP/OT3, which are Kouzumi and Takouzumi respectively. Which one I support more depends on my mood at the moment!

Q: Why are your fan stories usually darker than the originals?
A: They aren't, actually. Or at least not all of them. I will admit that the majority of my work is dark, because I'm sort of cynical, but I've seen enough happily ever afters in real life that I don't usually go for outright angst. This is also a funny question from my perspective, because I've never posted any of my darkest stories.

Q: Do you ever get annoyed by all the yaoi fangirls?
A: Heh. Yes. About as much as I get annoyed by het-only fans.

Q: Why can't you write something fluffy for a change?
A: Nowadays, it's no longer a question of "can't," it's a question of "won't." Quite frankly, I think fluff is boring to read and boring to write. Some people can't stand angst. I feel the same way about fluff. I can deal with happy stories just fine, though, because the two are not the same thing.

Q: Have you ever thought about writing a book?
A: Yes. It's definitely not going to happen, though. I'm prolific enough, but too much of a perfectionist. I like posting on the internet because I can freely edit when I look back on my older works and realize the issues with them.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Everywhere. I am very much a left-brained writer, so any kind of research usually spurs a story idea.

Q: How do you manage to write Izaya so believably?
A: Honestly, it's because he and I have a lot in common. People have suspected me of being a high-functioning sociopath before, for instance. I am not diagnosed as one, but I don't mind this label more than I mind labels in general. I don't think that sociopathy is inherently a bad thing.

Q: In your stories, there are some parts that come off as a bit insensitive. Could you frame it better?
A: An interesting point. Part of the challenge with writing my stories is that while I am incredibly liberal myself, my characters are not. This is by design. When a character says something, it's almost never meant to mirror what I think is right. Sometimes it does, but that is never the objective. My stories are not parables; I don't intend them to be. It would be rather unrealistic if every character in the story had the perfect moral compass. It would be similarly unrealistic to think that I myself have a perfect moral compass.

Stories currently on the back burner (all of them, basically, since everything non-essential in my life is currently on the backburner...)

Mistakes and Consequences (Incomplete): is half-complete, but it's the latter half. Of course.

The Art of Becoming a Biohazard (Complete and Incomplete at the same time): Currently working. My muse loves this one.

Odyssey (Incomplete): Oh lordy. Currently done with first draft of the entire story. In the process of overhauling, though. Please don't kill me :(

Close Enough (Incomplete): ...I reread this recently. And the quality, or lack thereof, made me want to cry. I apologize sincerely to the followers of that story, but I currently have no motivation to rewrite this story. I promise I will finish it, but not right now.

And You Don't Seem To Understand (Complete and Incomplete at the same time): Currently working. The ideas for this one are flowing easily, so I'll try to be more active in updating it.
