"This ride is so slow." Zoë said.
"Yes, quite a bore." Percy replied.
When Percy disappeared from the throne room, he and Zoë reappeared in California. At the Santa Monica pier to be exact. They had bought some unlimited wristbands, and rode the roller coaster. They were now on the Ferris wheel, which as Zoë mentioned, was very slow.
It was a chilly night. Zoë was covered with her hunter's parka, but Percy's suit barely did anything. He shivered, causing Zoë to laugh at him. Percy just deadpanned at her. She laughed even more, but this time cuddling up to him to share body heat.
"Y'know, it's almost Christmas." Percy said.
"Yep. Are we going to do anything? You usually don't like to."
"Let's mix it up this year. Who knows? Maybe it would be fun." Percy said, shrugging.
"It would be kind of hard to do in Hell, though." Zoë said.
Percy sat up and placed his hands on the railing. "About that..." He said, chuckling a little.
"Lucifer, what did you do?" She asked.
"I may have.. Told them that they... wouldn't see... me... for at least... 20... years..." Percy said, getting quieter with each word.
Zoë face palmed. "Damn it, Lucifer."
"I mean, we could sneak in, as long as no one sees me. Besides, I have a plan for the next 6 years. How does living in L.A. sound?"
LINE BREAK
"What happened?" Percy asked, back in his adult form.
"Apparently Dromos went missing a little while ago. Came back once and immediately left." Zoë said, also back in her adult form.
"Who said this?" Percy asked.
"Belios, I also told him to look out for more suspicious activity."
"Well then." Percy said, nodding.
"Now then, what is it you were saying about L.A.?
LINE BREAK
"It's perfect!" Percy exclaimed.
"It's an empty street." Zoë said, confused.
"I know, but just wait." Percy said, before closing his eyes. The ground began to shake, as a tower rose from the ground. It was white, with a balcony on one end. Above the door, hung an empty sign, still yet to be filled in.
Percy took Zoë inside, showing her around the place. It was spacious and large. The bottom room seemed to be ready for a party, with a bar on one end and a stage on the other. Tables and booths littered the floor.
Percy took Zoë through the upper floors, which contained empty rooms. But at the top, was a penthouse. Steps lead up to another room. The entire space was empty, but with a snap of Percy's fingers, the space was filled.
"This looks like the stuff-" Zoë started.
"From home?" Percy asked.
"Yea." She whispered.
Percy walked up to her and hugged her from behind. "It is, since we can't go home yet, I thought I would bring home to us." He whispered in her ear.
Zoë smiled, before dragging him up the stairs to the bed.
LINE BREAK
Percy woke up gasping. Zoë was still asleep next to him, snoring softly. The covers were up to below her breasts, and she seemed to be shivering a bit. He pulled them up to her neck, before kissing her on the forehead. She smiled in her sleep.
He got out of bed, careful not to disturb Zoë. He walked over to the desk, and grabbed a cigarette. He also grabbed a lighter, not feeling like lighting a flame by himself. He walked over to the balcony.
The cool air helped clear his mind, but... Bianca's death still lingered. He could've fought harder, he could've been stronger! And the thing that Luke said... his mind was a mess.
He put the cig in his mouth, before taking the lighter and trying to light it. It would spark, the flame wouldn't stay. He laughed a little crazily, before throwing the lighter off the edge. He looked up to the sky, and took the cigarette out of his mouth.
"You... you cruel, manipulative, bastard. Is this all part of your plan?" He paused. "It's all just a game to you, isn't it? Eh?" He paused again, as if waiting for an answer, one he knew would never come. "Well, I know punishment, and she did not deserve that. She followed the stupid rules, and it still wasn't good enough! So what does it take, to please you! Break your rules and you fail, follow them and you still lose?! Doesn't matter whether you're a sinner, doesn't matter if you're a saint, nobody can win so what's the point? What's the bloody point?" He finished, close to tears.
He glared up at the sky, at his father. With not so much as a roll of thunder, Percy turned around, only to run into Zoë. She had a look of worry on her face.
"I thought you were asleep." Percy said.
"I was, then I heard your rant."
"Oh, sorry." Percy said, quietly.
"No. it is fine, I'm more worried about you right now. What's wrong?" Zoë asked, sitting on the couch, patting the cushion next to her. Percy took the seat.
"What's wrong?"
"Bianca. She was wrongly killed. I felt like I had a daughter, and then, bam! Gone."
Zoë only nodded, rubbing his back. Percy just needed to vent, and for someone to listen.
"And Luke." Percy growled. "I mean, we spend eons, providing a place for dead mortals to punish themselves. I mean, why do they ALL blame ME, for all their little failings, as if I spent my day, sitting on their shoulder, forcing them to commit acts they would otherwise find repulsive, 'Oh The Devil Made Me Do It!'" Percy sat up all the way, thoroughly pissed. "I HAVE NEVER MADE ANY OF THEM DO ANYTHING, NEVER!"
Zoë just kept soothing him.
"And now, for all eternity, my name will be invoked to represent all their depravity. I mean, look what 6 billion of them have done to this planet, and they all blame me for it."
Percy was in tears at this point. He was curled into a ball on the couch, Zoë's arms wrapped around him. They fell asleep in that position.
LINE BREAK
"Breaking News. Over the course of a night, a new nightclub has opened up. Owner is unknown, though rumor has it that it's actually 2 owners. The grand opening will be tonight. Tom, back to you."
Percy smiled, arm around Zoë. "Lux, is open for business."
END OF ARC 3
A/N. It's been a couple of days. How are you guys?
I'm okay, been going to band camp, and I'm outside all day, so I come home tired, sore, and sweaty. I also wrote this all today, since I passed out and took a nap as soon as I got home yesterday.
Also, remember Swim Shady, from earlier in the Arc? Well, I based him off of my Gloshark (Which in itself is false advertising, since it falls under the Minnow family). Anyways yes, I had a gloshark named Swim Shady, and I say had, because he died today. Barely a month old. Don't know how it happened. He was fine when I fed him this morning before I left, I come back, and BAM! Still unmoving fish.
Sorry, I just had to vent. Anyways, I'm gonna do a little lore explaining since I don't know if I can fit this into the actual story. It's just some explanations, if you want to skip.
Before Percy got reborn, he had all his powers, second to only God and all that. When he got reborn, he only withheld his powers from the show, though some more came back slowly (hence the fire summoning and time alteration). Now that he's back in his adult form (From going back to Hell, (which I just made that little rule up)), he's going to be back to max power. Which is why he could build the entire nightclub in that short amount of time.
Alright, explanation over.
