The young man gasped after he managed to grab an official document that flew off on his way to work. He was almost hit by a car and he was still breathing it out.

He stood at the crossing, watching passing cars holding work documents. Cars don't and don't stop. He hurried to work and this heavy traffic didn't help him at all.

But at least he was given a moment to think about his life: From his childhood and the death of his father in the war to his hiring as an accountant and his last sexual relationship.

His life so far seemed like a disaster to him.

But he knew very well that there was no place in the world for a person like him and that he had to go with this boring monotonous world.

A young brown-haired woman came to the young dark-haired clerk, who was obviously heading to work as well.

Due to his clear immediate attraction to the unknown woman as he felt he fell in love, the young man felt nervous around the hurried surroundings.

He didn't notice that wind one of his working documents blew away. But the young man cursed because the paper flew away and he knew he will have a problem at work.

The woman turned to him again and wanted to ask him if he doesn't want help. He did not respond, but since the traffic seemed to move on, he had realized in that moment that the woman he fell in love with was gone.

In a bad mood after this scene he headed towards the building where was his job.

Another boring day.

He didn't enjoy the job, now way more after seeing that woman in the morning in his way to work.

He was angry. After several filled papers he lost his patience and decided to leave office and go outside. He so at the moment thought of mocking up his job by making paper planes out of the company's documents.

Outside, he didn't care if he was about to lose his job. What was a loss of a job compared to losing someone he just fell in love with.

His mood then changed when he saw her again walking on the street. He went to her, almost getting run over.

Car toot on the young man and a few driver's curses were heard.

He ignored the surroundings around him and he felt dead inside when he realized he lost her again.

He no longer had taste on his job either and he wanted give it up, both the job and efforts to search her.

He startled when he bumped into a woman. To his surprise it was her.

"I think this is yours." She said helding the paper he lost in the morning giving it up to him.

He felt a bit nervous at the moment.

"T-thanks, I thought I'll never see you again."

"I went from the interview, then the paper flied to me. I recognized it is yours and I went to give it to you back."

"Would you mind to go to coffee shop?"

"Not at all."

Young couple which started to get to know began to chat while high above them, even above some high buildings here, wind was carrying paper planes made by the young man in combination with official documents in the depressing environment of New York.

A/N

Philosophical explanation of the fic and why my imagination of Paperman as a Love, Death and Robots episode looks like as it is:

Personally, I felt it if it was too much sexual or vulgar, it would lost the philosophy in it. If there was actual magic with the paper planes, I felt it'd lost the meaning why I think the short would work as a Love, Death and Robots episode. I see it in this version more of a philosophical story slightly mentioning suggestive themes about suffering of everyday life and routines in it in the depressive environment of the city, about coincidences (paper planes works in this version as a tool of coincidence in the depressive city with stable routines) or the nearly death moments we can go through in public transport. That's my note to that why the story looks like this.
