Percy pulled the mask off of his face and took in the night air. He sat on the edge of the One World Trade Center, overlooking the city. Below him, the lights of cars passed by, little dots only seen because it was dark.

His heart was beating fast, not expecting what had happened. It was confusing to say the least.

After he left the Nightshade's house, he had driven near his apartment, and parked in an alley. He snuck into his room through the window, using the fire escape. He could've used the water in the air to float up, but if someone saw him, well, now wasn't the best time to be discovered.

He entered the room and quietly made his way to the closet. If his mom found out about his nightly outings, he would probably be grounded for life. He opened the closet door. Sitting in a box under a stack of clothes was his suit. He slipped it on, the spandex feeling cold. He slipped the mask on and walked over to the window. He started to hear footsteps coming down the hall.

"Percy?" His mom called, before opening the door. All she saw was an empty room with the window open. "Hm, must've been the wind."

She closed the window. As soon as it shut Percy let out a sigh of relief. He had jumped out to the fire escape just in time. He started to climb the steps, going all the way to the top of the apartment building.

He reached the top, and walked to the edge of the building before jumping. The wind whistled past his covered ears as he fell. He manipulated the water in the air to catch him, before moving through the air horizontally.

He "flew" all the way to the dock, landing on a crane. He looked down at the empty unlit pavement. It was quiet, like no one was there. He jumped off, floating down to the ground. He started to walk through the dock, looking for any signs of life.

He entered a warehouse, but all he saw was shipping containers ready to be shipped on a ship the next day. He raised an eyebrow. He had been expecting a fight, you know, to get the blood pumping.

"Hello? Is there anyone here at all?" He shouted, putting his hands near his mouth to amplify his voice. "I heard there was a robbery going on!"

When no answer came, he let his hands fall back to his side. He turned his head, looking around again. The only thing he saw in the darkness was the red light of a security camera.

Percy sighed, before walking out of the warehouse. He tapped his foot, his anxiety kicking in. Why would the police put out a false alert. It didn't make sense. What if it was a trap? But if it was one, surely it would've been sprung by now, right?

He stepped onto the air, solidifying the water. He flew up, looking down on the dock. Again, there was no one around. He had to deal with the fact that either the police dealt with it already, or it was just a false alarm.

He flew off, heading back into the main city. Cars passed by beneath him as his body cut through the air. Skyscrapers rose up in his vision, but one stood out to him. The One World Trade Center.

He flew to the top of it, bringing us to the present.

He pulled his phone out of his pocket, put the mask in his pocket. He turned the phone on. He didn't have many notifications, mostly just YouTube videos, but there was one that caught his eye.

Due Tomorrow: Rhetorical Precis

Fuck. With all the nervousness about meeting his girlfriend's father and then the thing with the doc, he completely forgot that he had an assignment due for english. He clicked on it, taking him to the google classroom of his teacher.

The google doc that was attached to the assignment opened up. And it was blank. He hadn't even put the header on it, deciding to do it later as homework. Why did Poseidon have to choose him of all people?

Percy sighed, put his phone in his pocket and brought out the mask. He unfolded it, and stared at it. The sea green lenses stared back at him. Thoughts from that day came back to him.

"Why me?"

"You'll figure it out, and you'll realize that you are the only person I could have chosen."

'Why Poseidon? What could I have that made you choose me? What did everything else not have?' Percy thought.

There was no answer. And for the first time in a while, he felt completely alone.

LINE BREAK

Poseidon looked down at the city below him. New York nightlife never disappointed him. He looked over to the empty throne room, his eyes filled with grief. Only two thrones remained, and the hearth in the center. The fire was almost dead, hope almost gone.

The streets of Olympus were dark and empty. The entire mountain was lifeless. He was one of the 3 deities to still have not faded yet. Everyone was gone, except the 3.

He heard movement from behind him. He turned around to see Artemis. "Hello."

"Hi."

"Have you found someone yet?" He asked.

Artemis shook her head.

"You know you have to."

Artemis sighed, tracing patterns into the railing. "Can't believe it's the end." She said, trying to subtly change the subject.

"It's not the end. They'll carry our legacy. They'll keep us alive. They'll be better."

"I don't know who will carry my memory. No one I've seen has the spirit to keep the Huntress alive." Artemis lamented, her face showing worry for the future. "And keep us alive? We're all gonna fade anyways!"

"You'll find them. We all did."

"Hestia hasn't." She pointed out.

They turned to look at the goddess of the Hearth, poking at a dying fire in the middle of the room. Hope was running out.

"I think I can fix that. I have an idea."

"You think you know someone that can keep the hope alive." Artemis asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I do." He said, looking back down on the city, at a certain One World Trade Center.

LINE BREAK

Atlas walked into the precinct. Krios and Kronos were already in the conference room, discussing something. Atlas walked into the room, overhearing the last part of Kronos' statement.

"-is great news."

"What is?" Atlas asked, confused as to why they had started without him.

"Ah, Atlas! How was the dinner? How was the boyfriend?" Kronos asked.

"It was short. He ended up leaving a few minutes in, something about his mom needing the car."

"Well, at least you know he cares about his momma." Kronos said, an ever present grin on his face.

"Enough about that. What's this great news you were talking about before I came in here?"

Krios' eyes lit up. "We got some information on Seastorm!"

"Is that what we're calling him? It's a stupid name."

"Anyways, we know that he has uses the police Remind to figure out where crimes are happening." Kronos explained.

"How did you figure this out?" Atlas asked. "And since when did we have a Remind?"

"Someone set one up so that citizens would know about crimes happening in the city. So we put out a fake distress call last night, and guess what, he showed up." Krios said.

"Was someone there, how do you know that he was there?"

Kronos grabbed the remote for the TV monitor in the room. The screen had gone dark from inactivity, but as soon as he pressed a button, the screen came back to light.

Displayed on screen was night time security footage from the docks. Right in the middle was the hero. Kronos pressed play.

"I heard there was a robbery going on!" The audio played.

Kronos paused it.

"He sounds young. And also kind of familiar. I can't tell with the grainy audio though."

"Right, so we're probably looking for a teenager." Krios said.

Atlas finally sat down. "Well, how are we supposed to narrow it down from here?"

Kronos smirked. "I have a few ideas."

A/N. So, we know more about how Percy knows about crimes that happen in the city, and now the Police are getting closer to finding out Seastorm. (Yes, that's the name I'm going with. And yes, I know it's stupid, but I don't care. Call it campy or something.)

Once again, thanks to _Zaeng for betaing this and giving me feedback.
