Hope you don't mind Saber, I just uploaded a version of my own retirement one shot with the draft you had sent me.
"When I retire, I'm moving to a tropical island."
Tyson raised an eyebrow and looked over at his wife. "Retire? You're only 28."
"Yeah, but I like to think about these things," Hilary replied, staring up at the ceiling. "Particularly when I have a very rough day at the hospital and I'd like nothing more than to stay away from the place. For a little while, at least."
Tyson blinked and turned his own head to stare at the ceiling. "Oh…well…are you moving there without me?"
Hilary smirked at his naivety. "I wasn't planning on going anywhere without my husband. You may get on my nerves too, but I find that you're a little harder to shake than the job."
"Gee, thanks," Tyson deadpanned, earning a delightful giggle from his wife. "But what if I don't want to retire?"
At this, Hilary's smirk dissipated. "You have to retire eventually."
"Says who?"
"Common sense," Hilary sighed. "Besides, what if a beyblader comes along and beats you? Then you'll have no choice but to retire."
"The main goal is for a beyblader to not beat me," Tyson stressed, waving his hands down for emphasis. "That's why I train so hard."
Hilary twisted her mouth in thought. "I bet Tyler can beat you."
"Tyler? He's not even 7 yet."
"I meant when he gets older."
Tyson smiled impishly at the thought. "I know he always talks about it, and it's really cute! But…I don't know if I want my own son to take my title from me."
"Why?" Hilary prodded.
"Tyler's kind of a bragger," Tyson sighed. "He'd never let me hear the end of it."
"Well, what do you expect?" Hilary questioned. "He gets that from you."
Tyson whipped his head back around to face his wife. "What?! No he doesn't!"
"Come on, Tyson, you brag about everything," Hilary groaned. "How fast you can eat, how good you are at video games, how you always last longer than me during- "
"That's not bragging!" Tyson cut her off. "It's called being proud of myself!"
"Right," Hilary replied. "So…bragging."
Tyson huffed and rolled over so his back was facing his wife. Hilary rolled her eyes as he did this; Tyson sometimes had a habit of acting like a pouty little kid who hadn't gotten his way. She thought it was ridiculous, but at the same time…somewhat endearing. Sometimes she cursed just how much she loved him.
"Hey," Hilary murmured, cuddling up against her husband's back and resting her head on his shoulder. "Don't be like that! I was only teasing you. You know I can't help myself."
She watched as his nose twitched thanks to the tips of her hair brushing up against his face and tickling him. After a bit of that, Tyson couldn't help but to show off a smile, looking around to smile at Hilary. "Okay. I forgive you."
He turned back around and wrapped his arms around Hilary, giving her a quick kiss on the lips as she giggled at his change of heart. "So…which tropical island do you plan on running off to?"
"I haven't thought that far ahead yet," Hilary admitted. "I think Maldives could be nice."
"Maldives?" Tyson repeated, his eyebrows raising in surprise. "That's so far from here!"
"I like far."
"But what about the kids?"
"They'll be adults by then. They won't need us anymore."
"You stop that," Tyson playfully scolded. "They're always going to need us."
"I wish, but I highly doubt that," Hilary sighed. "I mean; Tyler isn't even 7 yet but he thinks he's older than you are."
"Our little boy may be headstrong and a handful, but he still needs you," Tyson countered. "The girls still need you too. And what about our future babies?"
Hilary's eyes nearly fell out of her head. "There are going to be no future babies! The three we have is plenty!"
Tyson started to laugh. "Aw, come on! You know how much I love babies! I love it when you're pregnant, too."
Hilary rolled her eyes as Tyson began to kiss her neck. "Come on, you're ruining my retirement plan! If I keep becoming a human incubator, my plan will just keep getting pushed back!"
"I'm okay with that," Tyson chuckled against her skin.
"Good, so you have the next one," Hilary sighed.
"Hmm…that could be interesting," Tyson mused. "I wonder if Chief could invent something to make that possible!"
"I'm pretty sure Kenny is focused on more important inventions," Hilary laughed just once. "Ooh, I know. What if when we retire, we move to France?"
"That's not a tropical island," Tyson replied.
"I know, but it's so romantic!" Hilary practically squealed. "Could you imagine living in Paris? And seeing all those lights all of the time?"
Tyson rolled his eyes in thought. "I guess. But when…I mean if, I ever retire, I think I'd want to move someplace a bit quieter than a city. I mean, Paris is better than Tokyo considering all that diversity. I want go somewhere smaller and more peaceful."
"That's actually a good point," Hilary conceded. "Alright, Tyson. If you could choose anywhere in the world to retire, where would it be?"
Tyson pursed his lips and squinted his eyes; a sign that he was thinking very hard. Hilary giggled and snuggled her head more deeply against Tyson's shoulder, watching his face as he tried to come up with something good.
"I think I'd move into one of those little cottages on Athens," Tyson finally decided.
Hilary blinked her eyes, surprised by the answer."Greece?"
"I know, but it's in a much quieter area," Tyson explained. "I mean, even the area where we live now is quieter. But Athens is really, really quiet. And it has a nice view of the water…we'd be close to it, we could go anywhere on a boat!"
Hilary smirked at his growing excitement. "You know I've always wanted to live in one of the cottages."
"Right, but they're way too small for a family to live in," Tyson continued, remembering his wife's reason for never actually buying one. "Once the kids are older and can take care of themselves and live on their own, though, it'll just be me and you. And then the cottage will be just the perfect size."
Hilary hummed at the thought, her eyelashes fluttering. "I like that plan."
"See?" Tyson laughed, giving Hilary a squeeze. "My retirement plan is pretty good too!"
"it is," Hilary agreed with a smirk. "Except for the whole 'you wanting more kids' and 'possibly working until you're dead' points."
Tyson chuckled and rested his forehead against Hilary's. "Hey, those are always subject to change. As long as I have you, I can go with pretty much anything."
