Happy early Christmas, (or happy holiday's!) , as it's the season for giving, I thought I'd give you another double chapter week! Hope you enjoy, I love hearing from you all!

Chapter 3

Bella was under the hood of her truck trying to figure out what was wrong with it. She needed it in top form if she was going to be travelling miles in the rust bucket. She feared it was the intake valve and when she removed it she groaned as she saw it was burnt out. She was going to have to head to the junkyard to see if Sal had one. If not she would have to put off her trip until she could order one, which would be expensive, time consuming and annoying.

While she was under the hood she decided to check everything else as well. She didn't want to have to do this again.

Finding nothing else wrong other than age she stood and wiped her hands on the rag she had brought out. She picked up the crappy valve and closed up the hood, surprised to see Happy standing watching her.

"It's less creepy if you tell someone you're there," Bella said as her stomach gave a lurch on seeing the stoic man.

"Didn't want you to bang your head," he said quietly with a shrug. A cigarette was between his fingers and the smoke curled up invitingly from the stick.

"Where are you going?" He asked as she put her jacket back on.

"Junkyard, try and get a new intake valve," Bella explained going around the side of her house and wheeling her bike out front.

"Can't go alone girly," he said in that low gravelly tone that really was sinful.

Bella rolled her eyes at that. She liked the three men that had been staying at her house for two days now. She didn't enjoy the fact though that they treated her like a kid. Like she was incapable.

"I got out of all your holds last night. I think I'm fine," she said. They had carried on making sure she could fight. They had been tough lessons that left her with more than a few bruises and bumps. But she thought she was doing okay.

"Still can't go alone," Happy insisted. She was thankful that he didn't mention that if he hadn't wanted her to get out of his hold she wouldn't have. She had felt his coiled muscles against her and the slight relaxation of them before she broke free each time. Bella wouldn't have much of a chance against him if it had been for real and she knew it. She did trust him though, and despite his somewhat terrifying outer appearance, she wasn't scared of him.

Bella huffed. "Guess you'll be coming then?"

The ride to the junkyard was nice. She was surprised when Happy had taken off his 'kutte' before he rode with her. He had explained, as briefly as possible, that he couldn't ride alongside her with it. Club rules apparently. Happy's Harley easily outstripped her dirt bike but for the majority of the ride he rode side by side with her. She couldn't help the smile that crossed her face. She loved the freedom that came with being on her bike. The wind in her face, the feeling that was so much more intense than riding in any car could ever be.

Happy had given her his helmet, muttering she couldn't ride without one. She'd tried arguing with him, but it was hard arguing with someone who said nothing and just stared at you, as you were trapped in that intense gaze. It didn't take long for her to give in.

Sal had been wary of Happy who had shadowed her the entire time. He had however had an intake valve that wasn't burnt out and gave her a surprisingly good price on it. She suspected that was entirely due to the silent biker looming behind her intimidatingly. Whatever the reason Bella wasn't going to complain.

Happy watched as she replaced the valve, he said nothing but his eyes were sharp on every move that she made. She guessed he was waiting for her to screw up so he could correct her. He hadn't said anything by the time she closed the hood, more than ready to wash up. She assumed that meant he thought she'd done a decent enough job. He was an exceptionally hard person to read, his face gave away nothing, it was his eyes that showed how he was feeling. Bella wondered if many people bothered looking into his usually cold gaze to guess his mood or temperament.

After some lunch Quinn and Happy helped Bella start moving boxes that she was putting in storage. Her truck would hold the majority meaning she could get the boxes stored either that evening or tomorrow morning. Which meant she was one step closer to leaving Forks for good. Instead of the three weeks she had imagined it looked like it would be three days instead.

Quinn and Happy had gone back inside to get the last few boxes from her room when the trouble started. Bella was securing the boxes in the bed of her truck using some bungee cords and more imagination.

"Bella," her name spoken as though someone were reprimanding her, had her back stiffen instantly as she turned, surprised to find more than the usual two assholes she had been dealing with.

"Edward, Jake, Alice, Sam, Embry. If you could all leave, that would be great," Bella said, the comforting weight of Happy's gun in the waistband of her jeans made her feel a little safer.

"This nonsense has to stop Bella. You can't leave. You won't be safe. You need to stay here where we can protect you," Edward said. Three days with bikers and she realised just how whiney and childish her ex sounded.

"The leech is right, you should be where we are able to protect you," Sam added and she glared at him.

"Thanks, but no thanks," Bella said to him.

"Isabella-"

Bella's composure cracked and her anger seeped through however much she tried holding it together.

"Look, Edward, Jacob, I would honestly prefer whoring myself out to a travelling freak show than staying here with either of you!" She bit out, surprised by the chuckles that came from the porch. She hadn't realised they had joined her outside.

"No, instead you whore yourself out to biker scum," Edward sneered at Quinn and Happy.

"Watch yourself fucker!" Quinn hissed out sounding deadly. "You don't get to talk to her like that. Last chance."

"Can't believe I'm saying this, but Edward's right. You don't have to go with them for protection Bella, we can look after you," Jake tried next.

"All of you. Listen. Watch the words that come out of my damn mouth. I. Do. Not. Need. Looking. Out. For. I. Do. Not. Need. Protection. I. Will. Do. Whatever. The. Hell. I. Want. That's it, no ifs, no buts, no maybes. This is my life, not any of yours. Accept I don't want any of you in it," Bella ground out in between clenched teeth to keep from yelling like an errant toddler. "Sam, Alice, Embry, I have no idea why any of you are here. Unless it's to make sure these two idiots don't come back I don't really care. Now, get off my property before I call the cops."

"You heard the girl. Fuck off," Quinn said walking down the porch so he was stood just slightly behind her, towering over her.

"What would Charlie think Bella? What would he think about you with these men?" Edward asked her, the word men spat out like it was a profanity.

"No idea. He's not here though is he?" Bella replied, taking her phone out of her pocket and the gun from her waistband. She was done screwing around. Bringing Charlie into this had been a low blow and he knew it.

"Jacob, Embry, let's go. Bella has made up her mind and we must respect that," Sam said, his voice commanding. It sounded like an order more than a suggestion.

"Bella…" Jacob said with those puppy dog eyes that wouldn't move her anymore. He stepped forward as though to take her hand.

"I wouldn't," Happy said darkly.

"Jacob now!" Sam snapped.

His tail between his legs Jake followed the other puppies away and Bella relaxed a little. One down, one to go. This one was going to be harder though, Edward never believed he could be wrong, or that someone else may have a valid thought.

"Love, please, just hear me out," Edward said, his face a mask of sadness. Alice beside him was surprisingly silent. A new development and one Bella was fairly happy with. The few times she'd seen the smaller girl she had also been on the get Edward and Bella back together train.

"Okay, go ahead," Bella said, folding her arms like the men behind her.

"In private," Edward said.

"Not happening man," Quinn said through a strained jaw. She could feel the annoyance and anger rolling of her biological father.

"Fine. Bella, come back to me. I can give you everything. I can and will. Anything you want, anything at all. You want to go to college. We can go anywhere, Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton. You want a new car. I can get it for you, a gap year, a house with a white picket fence. Anything you desire," Edward pleaded with her.

"I tell you what I want and if you can give me that, then I'll go back to you, deal?" Bella said, feeling the air tighten around her from Quinn and Happy.

"Anything," Edward's face lit up, but Alice just glanced at Bella sadly. She obviously knew what was coming.

"Okay, I want to erase the last two years of my life, go back and have never met you. I want to be left in peace by you and everyone you associate with. I want Charlie back whole and healthy. I want the chance to have met my father when I was younger. I want to stand on a beach at sunset with no regrets. Can you do any of that?" Bella asked. "No? Then we're done."

"Bella-"

"Goodbye Edward," Bella insisted, turning on her heel and walking back to the house, Happy and Quinn right behind her.

"You did good out there, Bells. And that freak show shit was funny kid," Quinn said putting a hand on her shoulder as she stood against the closed door. "We can't go back and get those years together, I regret that as much if not more than you, but we can have the ones going forward."

Bella smiled at him before pushing past her hesitancy and fear to give Quinn a brief hug. She was surprised and pleased when he hugged her back. She fought tears as she pulled away. It had been way too long since she had been hugged by someone, especially someone who cared.

Bella sprang awake, her heart hammering as a gunshot echoed through her house for the second time that week.

"Happy!" Bella gasped out, the gun she had been sleeping with firmly in her grasp as she ran up the stairs.

"Bella! Get back down here!" Quinn yelled behind her but she was already pushing her bedroom door open. Panic for Happy was racing through her blood.

"Get the hell off him!" Bella yelled, unsurprised to find Edward pining Happy to the floor. A fresh bullet hole in her wall. She darted forward and smashed the butt of the gun over Edwards head, as hard as she could.

"You have no idea who your new friend is, how dangerous he is," Edward growled at her. Not shaken or moved by her assault.

Bella dialled a number on her phone with shaking hands. It was answered almost straight away.

"You need to come and get him before I find out if an RPG works!" Bella yelled down the line before hanging up. "Happy?"

Bella bent down to the man still under Edward, his eyes showed he was in pain but nothing on his face gave it away. "Go girly, I'm fine. Get out of here."

"Get off of him now!" Bella hissed, shoving the immovable vampire.

"I'll get off him, glady, as long as you come with me. If not…" Edward smirked at her, his mind obviously lost. Happy under him gave a grunt but nothing else that showed he was in any pain.

"She's not going anywhere," Quinn said from the doorway. "Except for downstairs."

Bella turned so she could look at him but still keep Edward in her sights. Quinn was holding a huge, something or other, she assumed it was in fact the RPG.

"You fire that he dies. I might be hurt, but he dies for sure," Edward hissed at Quinn.

"Do it," Happy grunted out.

"No!" Bella yelled. No way was she letting anyone else die because of her. "Fine, Edward, you've got your wish. I'll come with you, just leave them alone."

"No!" Happy said, his voice stronger.

"Bella, no," Quinn added. She turned to look at her newly found father figure and tried to communicate with her eyes. She hoped that he got what she was trying to say.

"I'm sorry Quinn, I wish we had longer," Bella sighed, stepping over to Edward. "We're going out the front door. I'm not jumping through the window."

"As you wish love," Edward smiled that crooked smile at her that used to make her turn to mush. Now she wished she were holding the huge gun instead. "After you, if either of your friends follow, I'll have to disappear with you though, you understand?"

Not dignifying that with a response she walked from her room, Quinn and Happy both trying to argue with her.

Bella waited for Edward to clear the threshold before she ran for the bathroom. "Now!" She yelled.

There was a huge explosion, the house shook with it and fire reigned down. Her heart hammered as she stepped slowly towards the smoking pile that was where Edward had been standing.

It moved ever so slightly. He was still alive.

A hand on her arm made her instinctively jerk away and throw back her elbow. She spun as it was caught and got ready to punch them in the face.

Her ears rang, smoke stung her eyes and she realised the air she was getting was thick. Bella also realised it was Quinn who was trying to touch her. He was saying something but through the ringing in her ears she couldn't make out any words.

He jerked his thumb back towards her bedroom and she nodded before heading there, being mindful of the flames that licked the floor around Edward.

She rushed to Happy who was pulling himself up off the floor. Bella tried to ignore the fact he was just in plain black boxers as she attempted to help him up. His skin was covered in tattoos and he was deliciously toned. She really tried not to stare at him. He was hurt and she needed to focus on that, but he was really, really good looking.

A hand rested on her cheek pulling her face up. Bella was soon looking into Happy's pitch black eyes that were framed by a deep scowl. She could see his lips moving but still couldn't hear anything.

"I can't hear!" She yelled. "Are you okay?"

Happy rolled his eyes but gave a brief nod. She saw him scour every inch of her with his eyes and fought, futilely, another blush.

Again he asked her something but the ringing in her ears was still persistent. And she learnt that she couldn't lip read. He pointed behind her and she turned to see Quinn aiming the RPG again. She didn't know if it could fire more than once but the confidence that the man was giving off made her think that it could.

Happy tugged her forward by her arm, she frowned at him but went towards Quinn.

She stood, just slightly behind the huge man and looked out towards the still smoldering stairwell. Standing over the charred outline of Edward was Jasper, his hands raised in the universal sign of surrender.

"It's okay, Jasper's a friend," Bella said, not quite sure if she was shouting or not.

Jasper said something but she couldn't make it out. She hoped the ringing wasn't permanent, that could bring problems.

"I can't hear!" Bella told the southern vampire who looked as though he was trying not to laugh. Ass. Jasper quickly hoisted Edward in his arms and with a bow to Bella was gone faster than she could see.

Bella stood looking at her stairwell that was going to have to have the carpet ripped up now and realised she was shaking. She felt sick and her breath was coming in gasps. She realised just how close they had all come to death. How close she had come to being at Edwards mercy. If Quinn hadn't figured out what she was trying to do, if he hadn't been so quick…

She could just about make out the mutters of two deep voices but she couldn't hear what they were saying. A hand on her shoulder made her jump and she looked up to see Quinn look at her in concern.

"ARE YOU OKAY?" Quinn mouthed slowly and clearly for her. At least that she got.

She nodded, physically she was fine. She wasn't the one attacked by a vampire for once. Her head spun a little as she nodded and she felt vaguely disconnected from her body.

Another hand on her made her jump again and she felt dizzy. Taking in a deep breath she prayed she wasn't about to pass out. Just before her eyes rolled up in her head.

Happy looked down at the tiny slip of a thing laid out next to him as Quinn darted into the relators office. He wondered what her response to this would be. Quinn seemed to think she'd understand, Happy thought she was gonna create hell. For as small as she was she had a smart mouth and a temper that burnt. It was fucking hot as shit. Shame she was still a kid and that Quinn was her pops. He had a feeling she'd be fucking wild in the sack.

Training her to shoot and shit the last few days had done nothing to dampen the raging hard on she gave him. He'd be glad when he could drop her off somewhere and bury himself in a willing bitch. Happy was also glad Quinn seemed to be clueless. The older man would be sure to beat the shit outta him.

Nah, even if Bella hadn't been barely legal and Quinn's daughter, she was just too… sweet he guessed for Happy. He needed someone who could handle his shit. Handle what he did and who he was. She wasn't it. Until he found someone who was, he'd carry on getting his end away with the bitches that were always willing at any clubhouse he turned up to.

Quinn came out of the office and nodded at Happy before he grabbed his helmet, ready to go. Happy started up the piece of shit truck, ignoring the painful twinge in his shoulder.

He hadn't believed Kozik or Bella when they had started spouting shit about the supernatural. Who the hell would've? Life was life, you lived, you fucked, you died. Anything else was just fantasy. 'Cept, now he knew it wasn't. No fucker should be able to take an RPG to the back and be living after. No fucker should've been able to take a bullet to the head and not have even a fucking scratch. And no one should ever have been able to take Happy down as easily as that prissy ass bitch had. It hadn't happened since he was a kid and he despised it. It had made him realise though that Quinn's kid was deep in that bullshit and there wasn't a lot either him or Quinn could do about it without some better tools.

That was the main reason they'd packed Bella's remaining shit up. Tore up the ruined carpet and high tailed it out of the shitty town she had been in. She wasn't staying there.

Quinn planned for them to get to Tacoma, where his Old Lady was meeting them. They'd stay for a few days before Quinn and Georgia would get Bella set up in Charming. Happy would get his dick sucked and be back on the road, forgetting all about the supernatutal, and more importantly the tiny little brunette who had fucking started talking in her sleep. If she didn't shut up soon he was going to have to wake her. His dick was already hard enough that his jeans rubbed painfully against it.

"Hmmm…. Happy," she sighed, not for the first time.

Happy gripped the wheel under his hands harder, his jaw clenching. He kept reminding himself that she was a kid. Quinn's kid. Quinn would kick his ass. Georgia would skin him alive and laugh while doing it. Chick was a head case, Happy really liked her, she was the perfect balance of sweet and fucking take no prisoners for the Nomad prez.

He purposefully kept his mind off Bella's tight curves, her tits which would be a handful for his large hands and those big brown doe eyes as he drove as fast as the piece of shit truck could to keep up with Quinn.

He wasn't sure Charming was the right place for the spitfire, but Quinn was calling the shots. She was his kid after all. Charming was alright, but Bella would have to face Gemma. The brothers would hit on her and give her shit, that would be the same wherever she went though. And at least he knew no one would hurt her in Charming. They had the kind of morals Quinn and Happy did there. Not a lot of morals, but you don't hurt kids or women. Other clubs were less moral. Oregon for insistence. He knew at least three of the guys there didn't give a shit about smacking their old ladies about. Nasty fuckers.

The ride to Tacoma was only a couple of hours and the roads were clear so they made good time. Bella kept up that bullshit talking crap though. She'd stopped moaning his name a while back, thankfully, now she sounded like she was having a nightmare about her step dad. He thought he'd rather have her moan his name again. At least he knew he could just ignore that shit.

"No… no… not Charlie… please!"

Happy sighed and reached an arm across to shake her awake.

"Girly," he said loudly, not sure if her hearing would be back to normal yet or not.

Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around herself with a frown. Happy took his hand back to the wheel.

"Happy?" She asked, looking all cute as she pushed her long brown hair off her face and sat up, her eyes still heavy with sleep. "What… Why are we in my truck?"

"Getting out of Forks," Happy grunted. If he never saw that podunk town again it would be too soon.

"No! I can't just leave! I've got to give the keys to the realtor, and what about my stuff? I need to sort that hall out and I'm not running away!" Her arms folded in front of her and her body rippled with indignation. It was cute.

"All sorted," Happy informed her, his eyes focused on the empty road, Quinn probably miles ahead of them by now. Happy was pushing the truck to its limits which was barely over sixty, much to his annoyance. At least he knew his bike wasn't going to come off the back of it at this speed.

"What?"

"It's taken care of," Happy said slowly, why did he get stuck with this? Surely this was Quinn's job? Happy knew it was because his shoulder was fucked and riding his bike wasn't an option till he got some sort of painkillers in him, but damn, he shouldn't have to deal with the inquistion.

"Happy, you really need to stop talking so much. I mean how does one get you to shut up?" Bella bit out sarcastically, making him smirk. Fucking spitfire.

"Can do that," Happy said, playing along. They still had a few miles to go, not too long but long enough that he didn't want to be stuck if she carried on with the pissy act.

"So the hallway carpet-"

"S'all taken care of," Happy nodded once, rolling down the window before lighting a cigarette. He felt like he might need it before the trip was done.

"Okay. Thank you," Bella said sincerely.

"Thank Quinn," Happy shrugged. The carpet was Happy's idea, everything else was on the tall guy though.

"I will. But thank you too. How are you feeling? Did Edward hurt you?" Happy was surprised to hear real concern in her voice. For someone who barely knew him she cared. He found it uncomfortable. Bitches didn't care with the exception of his ma and aunt.

"I'm good," Happy half shrugged, he wasn't going to mention his jacked shoulder. He'd had worse, and he'd be fine after some Jack and some pills.

"I'm glad. I'm… sorry, that you got hurt because of me," Bella said quietly this time. Her face firmly turned towards the woods they were passing.

"Nothin' to be sorry about," Happy said, meaning it. He wasn't about to walk away when his clubs family was in trouble. He wouldn't admit it to anyone else, but even if she hadn't been Quinn's daughter he wouldn't have left her there to sort shit out on her own.

He had recognised her as soon as he'd laid eyes on her again, despite acting as though he hadn't. First time he had ever let anyone ride bitch on his bike. It had been a spontaneous offer called out to her, she had been staring though and just something about her… She was hot as fuck but there was this sadness and innocence about her that… he guessed he wanted to corrupt. In the year since then she had just gotten hotter, though some of her previous innocence had gone, it still surrounded her. He was pretty glad to see that she wasn't as sad as she had been either, despite the last few months. That fire in her still burnt, brighter now than it had done before.

"Where are we going?" Bella asked.

"Tacoma," he replied briefly.

"How long till we get there?"

Happy just sent her a glare at that question. The most annoying fucking question one could ask on any road trip. Are we there yet or any variation of that question. Judging by her blush and half giggle she understood exactly what she had done. Minx.

"Where are you from, Happy? Like, where did you grow up?" She asked after a few minutes of silence.

He debated answering the question. He didn't much like talking about himself. He decided though that it was harmless information that she could learn from anyone anyway. It wouldn't hurt to answer this one question.

"Bakersfield, it's in California," he told Bella.

Silence reigned again for the last few miles of the ride. Happy didn't feel the need to fill it, it wasn't an uncomfortable silence by any means. He ignored the glances she sent his way on occasion and instead just enjoyed the ride.

When they reached Tocoma Bella felt nerves well up in her stomach at the group of men and women stood waiting for them outside of a building that looked a little run down. She assumed this was one of the clubhouses her dad had mentioned staying at from time to time. She had no idea what to expect. All the men looked a little rough around the edges and she imagined that most people would probably feel intimidated about them. They didn't scare her though, no her nerves came from the worry of embarrassing herself, being the center of attention and meeting her… step mom? Quinn's old lady. She thought that meant wife but he hadn't expanded on the term and she had other things she wanted to know that took precedence.

Happy obviously had no such qualms, jumping out of the truck the second it was parked. With a sinking heart she realised that he had just been being friendly towards her, or as friendly as he got anyway and was desperate to escape her company. She didn't think she had been that bad, well except the how long question. She'd ignored the burning questions she had and just enjoyed the silence for the last twenty minutes or so.

Quinn walked over to her side of the truck and when she'd opened the door was there waiting to help her down. It was sweet, if not a little overbearing.

"You okay kid? Nothing hurt, hearing back?" Quinn asked, looking her over with a practiced eye. He sounded concerned.

"I'm good, thanks. And thanks for taking care of everything back in Forks, Happy told me about the relators and everything," Bella said with a small smile, feeling her blush once again.

"He did, did he?"

"Well he grunted something in response to my question, I inferred as much," Bella chuckled, exaggerating slightly. Still Happy didn't waste words. Quinn was more what she was used to, not exactly verbose but able and willing to hold a conversation at least.

Quinn let out a chuckle. "Yeah, now that sounds more likely. Not exactly a chatty Cathy is he? Come on, meet the guys and Georgia. She's dying to get to know you."

Bella took her lip between her teeth but nodded. She really hoped that Georgia liked her, she worried what would happen if she didn't. Would Quinn not see her again? Would that be it?

"Bella, this is Lee, the president of SAMTAC, Lee, this is my daughter, Bella," Quinn introduced her to a fair haired man with a sizable pot belly and a large smile that touched his eyes.

"Nice to meet you lovely, you need anything at all you let us know," Lee said sounding sincere. She wondered how it worked, the whole different charters and nomad thing. Maybe she should ask Quinn another time. She was surprised when Lee took her hand in his large calloused one and placed a stubbly kiss to her cheek.

"Nice to meet you too, thank you for having me," Bella said, trying to be as polite as possible. For some reason this caused laughter, mainly from the men gathered.

"You're welcome here anytime, you're family now. This is my beautiful Old Lady, Vivian," he introduced a younger blonde with huge boobs and clothes that bared pretty much everything. She also had a kind smile though and pulled Bella in for a gentle hug.

"Nice to meet you," Bella told the woman sincerely.

They went down the line of men and women, she noticed she wasn't introduced to a few of the women and wondered why that was. Maybe there was a rank system and these women weren't ranked high enough to be introduced, or maybe it was simply that Quinn didn't know their names.

Kozik, Koz, pulled her in for a big bear hug and swung her around making her chuckle. He still sported the bruise that she thought Quinn had given him. Donut just waved cheerily.

She realised she would probably forget the names of most of the people, there were about fifteen of them and they all had weird nicknames with the exception of Lee, Vivian and Leah.

"And this is my Georgia," Quinn introduced the woman last. She was stunningly beautiful with dark brown, almost black, hair that framed her face and startling, bright green eyes. She was tall, much taller than Bella, helped by some killer knee high black stiletto boots.

"It's really nice to meet you, Quinn spoke about you a lot," Bella said, trying to smile through her nerves. The woman was intimidating without a doubt.

"Come here you, gosh you have Quinn's eyes. Such beautiful eyes," Georgia pulled Bella in for a hard hug. "Wow, you can really see it. Damn girl, I'm sorry, we'd have known you much sooner if… Well yeah. You're here now, that's what matters."

Georgia spoke quickly and authoritatively, Quinn next to her smiled widely, his chest puffed out proudly. Bella couldn't help but smile at the obvious love between the couple as Quinn wrapped a large arm around Georgia's shoulders.

"Come on hun, I'll show you to the room you'll be staying in. Don't worry about your bags one of these strong guys will lug 'em in for ya," Georgia said while winking at Bella and smiling knowingly at Quinn.

Bella followed Georgia into a dark room littered with seating, a huge bar took up one wall entirely and a couple of arcade games lined the wall opposite. They walked through the bar area and down a long corridor with doors leading off every few meters. She was let into the last door on the left.

The door opened onto a modest room with a twin bed, a couple of draws and a lamp, another door stood open revealing a basic but functional bathroom.

"It's not much, but it's only for a night or two before we set you up in Charming," Georgia said, waving a manicured hand at the room.

"It's great, thank you," Bella said feeling awkward, she had no precedent for this situation.

"How are you doing with all of this?" Georgia asked, taking a perch on the edge of the bed and looking up at her earnestly.

"Erm… I'm not really sure. Angry I think, like I've been robbed of a dad. I mean Charlie was a good dad, he cared even if he struggled showing it and was a bit distant but… I don't know how it would have been with Quinn but I'd have liked the chance to find out. Renee kept me from that and kept Quinn from that. I just feel like I've been living this lie for the last eighteen almost nineteen years and I'm so angry," Bella said honestly, feeling the anger burn her.

"Well honey, can't say I blame ya. Think Rane's of the same mind," Georgia said sympathetically.

"How about you, this must be hard on you too," Bella said, feeling bad for the woman. She probably didn't want to have to bond with Bella, a daughter her husband had with another woman.

"Oh honey, don't you worry none about me now. I'm good. I'm just glad you're open to giving Rane and hopefully me, a chance to get to know ya is all," Georgia said, she had an accent that Bella couldn't place at all.

"Of course, you're family," Bella said, repeating what the man outside had said. Bella just hoped they were better examples of family than what she was used to.
