It always feels like this world was made just to fuck me over.
That was until I met my best friend Ruby. She's just another cripple but I still consider her my best friend. My name is Jaune Arc… and this is the story…
Of pure pain and f*cking torture LOL!
Jaune walked into the cafeteria. "They're serving chocolate cake today! I can't wait to get some." Jaune thought as he saw one last slice of cake sitting on the lunch line food holder(A/N: I have no idea what that sh*t is called LMAO)
But before he could even get within 5 meters it was snatched away by a girl with red hair. But another girl with orange hair slammed down on the holder. "PYRRHA!" The girl called as the red-haired girl turned around.
"What Nora?" Pyrrha asked. "You know damn well I saw that cake first!" Nora said as Pyrrha turned and smirked at her. "I don't see your name on it!" Pyrrha shot back.
Nora glared at her before closing her eyes. When she opened them again they were glowing a bright sky blue. "Give up the cake Pyrrha!" Nora said, threateningly. Pyrrha's own eyes started glowing emerald green.
Nora's hands and arms then had pink circuits running through them as she rushed at Pyrrha. Pyrrha quickly dodged Nora's strike while still holding the cake before she swept Nora's legs and tripped the girl.
Nora barely looked up before a bronze and red shield crashed down on her face. Nora's forehead dripped blood as she glared up at Pyrrha. "Ha! Nice tr-" Nora was cut off by a spear being fired into her blue jacket.
"Hey what the hell?!" Nora cried as she tried to budge the weapon but couldn't. "Might wanna get a replacement from the main office," Pyrrha said as she walked off, still holding her victory cake.
Jaune looked at the fight in awe. "Man High-Tiers are so cool…" He said before shaking his head. "But there's no more cake!" He cried.
He walked to a table and sat down before looking up. A girl with black and red hair sat across from him. She had silver eyes and was wearing the same blue jacket as everyone else with a black miniskirt and black thigh-highs with brown shoes. The real change is that while everyone else wore a white undershirt and tie, the girl wore a black t-shirt with a flaming red guitar on it.
"Sup Vomit boy." She said as Jaune slumped. "When are you gonna stop calling me that Ruby?!" He cried.
"When I forget you throwing up on the first day," Ruby said as she ate. Jaune slumped even harder at that.
He then thought back about the fight he saw. "Man High-Tiers are so cool!" Jaune said as Ruby looked up.
"I wish I had an ability so I could be that awesome!" Jaune said as Ruby drank her juice. "Dontcha think Ruby?" Jaune asked. "Nah," Ruby said.
Jaune was taken aback slightly. "B-but why?! High-tiers are some of the coolest people around!" Jaune said.
"No, they're not. They're just a bunch of overpowered losers who think they're better than everyone else. They terrorize others and have no value to society outside of their rank." Ruby ranted. "Yeah but…" Jaune said.
Ruby hates High-Tiers
I understand her but… does she truly believe all of them are garbage?
Jaune didn't have much time to think about that before the bell signaling the end of lunch rang. "Wait wait, I haven't started eating!" Jaune cried.
Jaune and Ruby walked out of the cafeteria as Jaune was holding his stomach. Ruby rubbed his back while laughing. "Now that was world-class vomit boy!" Ruby said as Jaune slumped. "I wonder if it was because I ate too fast…" He said.
"Yo if it isn't the school cripples!" A voice called behind them as they turned and saw a boy with blond hair and orange eyes smirking at them.
"Great. Here's Teysen…" Ruby muttered. The boy then shot at them before his orange eyes started glowing.
His fist shot out fast and Ruby barely dodged as she ducked. She then slammed her fist into his chest.
He coughed as she jumped back slightly… only for Jaune to run around Ruby and strike him across the face.
"Dammit!" Teysen cried as he glared at them. "F*ck off," Ruby said as the boy glared at the two. "You little B*tches!" He cried before he slammed his fist into the ground and cracked the floor, causing Ruby to trip slightly.
He then slammed his fist into her face and sent Ruby flying. "Ruby!" Jaune cried.
"Where are you looking?!" Teysen cried and before Jaune could react he was punched in the face by Teysen's glowing fist.
Jaune hit the ground and looked up before Teysen slammed his fist into his face repeatedly. "Stupid cripples! Thinking they can take on me!" He said as he kept punching.
Soon Jaune's face was bloody and he passed out. Teysen left him and walked over to Ruby who was holding her head,
"How does it feel? Being so useless?" Teysen asked as he lifted Ruby up.
She spat in his face.
"F*ck you! You're nothing but a pathetic piece of sh*t who picks on weaker opponents they can beat instead of fighting anyone they can't!" Ruby shouted as Teysen glared at her. "YOU B*TCH!" He cried as he prepared to punch the life out of Ruby.
But before he could a fist slammed into his face and he was sent flying across the hall and into a wall.
He looked up while holding his bleeding head and saw… "Yang?!" He cried as the tall girl glared down at him.
"What the hell did you think you were doing to my baby sister?" Yang demanded as the boy looked up. "I-i didn't mean anything I was… I was just.. Well…" He stammered before jumping into a bow.
"I'm sorry!" He cried as Yang's glowing red eyes glared at him. "Get the f*ck out of my sight!" Yang said as Teysen jumped up and skittered off.
Yang turned back and walked to Ruby as her eyes turned back to lilac. "You alright Rubes?" Yang said as she helped her sister up. "Ye-yeah…" Ruby said as she turned away from Yang. "I can get him to an infirmary," Yang said as Ruby nodded. "I guess I better go see the doc as well…" She said with a small laugh before she walked off.
Yang turned back to her and sighed. "Why Ruby… why do this?" Yang asked no one before she walked over and her eyes started glowing red again as she picked up Jaune.
Jaune woke up in the infirmary next to Ruby as he noticed his face was all bandaged up. "What happened?' He asked aloud. "We got our asses kicked again. Just another day of being cripples huh?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah guess so… at least we're cripples together!" He said as Ruby nodded. "Yeah!" Ruby said. "I already taught you how to fight so you're at least better than when we first met in our first year." She said,
"Yeah, speaking of fighting. Who saved us? Did you beat him?" Jaune asked. "No… he's a Mid-Tier with a surprisingly strong hit. I don't think I'll ever beat him. Hasn't worked the last 5 times… and wouldn't work here." Ruby said.
"Then who…" Jaune asked. "My sister Yang. She helped out right before he was gonna beat me." Ruby said. "Yang?!" Jaune cried.
"Yes… my poor ears…" Ruby said, rubbing her ear. "Yang is the coolest! Her ability is Damage Absorption, right? She gets stronger when taking enemy attacks!" Jaune said and Ruby nodded. "Yeah, that's her ability…" Ruby said.
"She can already stockpile energy to start off powerful as well right?" Jaune asked and Ruby once again nodded.
"Kinda weird you're both sisters but you don't have an ability," Jaune said and Ruby gripped the sheets. "Yeah well… we're half-sisters," Ruby said.
"Plus you're even weirder! All of your sisters have a variation of weapon making and other things and you're a cripple!" Ruby said as Jaune rubbed the back of his neck. "Guess we're both unlucky…" Jaune said as Ruby smiled before walking over to his bed and setting down before laying across his legs.
"At least we're unlucky together right?" Ruby asked as Jaune smiled down at her. "Yeah… it could always be worse." He said.
Ruby and Jaune were omitted from the infirmary as they thanked the doc who just told them to f off and drank her tea.
"Wanna head to Dave's?" Ruby asked as Jaune nodded. "Yeah, I could go for Mango Boba right about now," Jaune said. "Alright then let's go! You still have that coupon right?" Ruby asked. "Yeah of course! I will never forget anything that gets me free drinks!" Jaune said as Ruby rolled her eyes. "Then let's go Vomit Boy… do try to keep the damn boba down." Ruby joked as Jaune slumped. "I will make you forget that someday!" Jaune cried.
The duo walked to Dave's Great Drinks and sat down and didn't even pull out any menus since they already had a clear idea of what they wanted.
The woman who worked there took their orders and the pair started talking again. "Nora v Pyrrha was so cool!" Jaune said as Ruby looked at him. "Isn't Pyrrha the strongest person in the whole school?" Ruby asked as Jaune nodded. "Yeah! Nora has some serious guts to take her on." Jaune said.
"I would do the same. The great Beacon chocolate cake is quite literally to die for!" Ruby said as Jaune nodded. "Yeah, but the fight over it wasn't long. Pyrrha pinned her to the ground after a while." Jaune said.
"Pyrrha's ability is Weapon Conjure right?" Ruby asked and Jaune nodded again. "Yeah! Her passive is cool too! She pretty much has super armor at all times! Nora's not weak either. Her Reinforcement is amazing! Too bad she's only an Elite Tier. She might've been able to have a better chance." Jaune said.
"You sure know a lot about abilities Jaune," Ruby commented as Jaune blushed before rubbing the back of his neck. I'm not all that. I always wanted my own so I study abilities a lot." Jaune said.
"That's a good goal. You should go into ability research." Ruby said as Jaune perked up. "Yeah! Didn't the authorities make a new company for that? Maybe I should go to college for that and join!" Jaune said as Ruby went quiet.
"Uhh, Ruby?" Jaune asked. "F*ck the authorities!" Ruby said as Jaune was taken aback for the second time that day.
"What's wrong with the authorities?" Jaune asked as Ruby's eyes shot open. "Oh nothing, what I meant was… y'know… "F*ck the authorities comin' straight from the underground!" Ruby said as Jaune tilted his head. Before the conversation could devolve further the waitress came and gave them their drinks as Ruby sighed and started slurping down her strawberry smoothie and Jaune drank his boba.
"Anyway Jaune. I've been thinking about clubs. Got any you'd join?" Ruby asked and Jaune thought it over. "Not really. Might be nice. But if we got beaten before we entered then we'd be kinda screwed I guess." Jaune said. "Yeah… guess you're right…" Ruby said before someone clicked on the TV.
A news report came on as a tall man with orange messy hair and violet eyes appeared. "The body of well-known superhero Yohane was found in an alleyway in a small town named Jiuntine. Her body was decorated with scars and stab wounds. She had the trademark signature of the group named Nigaji. Nigaji is a murderous group and has exclusively targeted superheroes. Please refrain from vigilantism to avoid this fate." He said.
"Another one bites the dust."
"Pah! Good Riddance!"
"These young kids think they're hot sh*t! Look what it gets them!"
"This is why we don't care for sh*tty low-tiers."
"Superheroes are nothing but a joke!"
Other comments and jeers echoed around them as Jaune looked at the TV with sadness. "Superheroes just try to protect others and make them feel safe…" Jaune said.
Ruby looked at the TV. "I wonder… who's killing all of these superheroes… and why?" Ruby thought.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO what's up everybody it's ya boi Crash and this is a "reboot" of The Hierarchy. I put quotes because I'm not exactly quitting on The Hierarchy. I'm still gonna continue to write the original. I just kind of wanted to see how I could write something closer to unORDINARY. Here are the changes from the original:
