"So you're telling me, someone stole something that dates back to the cold war?" Betty asked
"Yes, if the person finds the location of the bunker housing the weapons, millions will die." Agent Alexandra said
Said GJ agent told Betty and the others what Operation Hammer Down is, it was apparently a secret plan of the former USSR to use portable tactical nukes and detonate them in key european cities, thus paving for a soviet takeover of western europe, yet they aborted the operation and left the nukes in a bunker somewhere, so far two nukes were only made.
"That does not sound good at all." Ron said
"Do you have an form of surveillance in there?" Shego asked
"Only one but it is very grainy, we are currently fixing it, I will let you know if we succeed." Agent Alexandra said
"So we now have a potential, level one situation unfolding." Betty said while placing both arms on top of the table
"Yes, yes we do. We are currently in contact with two operatives of the FSB, who were sent to investigate, will patch them at your request ma'am." Agent Alexandra said
"Please do, we'll need all the information we can get." the head of GJ said
"Please hold on." Agent Alexandra said before making a connection to the two operatives
"Director Betty, you are now seeing the two operatives." Agent Alexandra said
"Good morning to you all. My name is Sasha..." the now identified agent said "...and my partner Nadia."
"Nice to meet you all as well." Nadia said
Sasha has a short beard and short hair, he has a muscular build, he appears to be in his late thirties to early forties. His partner Nadia has long hair that reaches up to her shoulders, she has a petite body yet her tight shirt also reveals muscles, she appears to be in her early to mid thirties.
Sasha has a look that says he's seen a lot from the time of the USSR and russia, yet he looks like he has great wisdom in him, Nadia on the other hand has been spared from the outcome of her profession, yet you can see she is dedicated to it and has wisdom of her own.
They were currently in Kyiv, they were on stand by, they were to co-operate with GJ on this problem.
"Do you have any idea on who might have taken, whatever is in the box?" Betty asked Sasha
"I do not know, that is one forgotten relic of the past, each information regarding that has been placed and intentionally forgotten, in many bunkers or buildings, so far to open the bunker that is housing the nukes, whoever this is needs five keys, so they have one, the rest is still to be found." Sasha said
"Do we have locations to the other four keys?" Ron asked
"No we do not, but I may have an idea where one of the keys is located." Sasha said while looking for something in an envelope
"Where would that be?" Betty asked
"Here." the russian man then showed them a map of germany
"Why am I not surprised..." Betty shook her head "...is it in a bunker somewhere in the woods?"
"I don't know, hopefully..." Sasha said
"Alright then, we will meet with you in Berlin..." Betty checks her phone "...in three days time."
"Alright. Until then do take care." Sasha said
The meeting ended and everyone left to go prepare, after preparing for the mission Ron and Shego were checking the food supply and bathroom items, they were leaving Hana in the house to guard their home from pesky paparazzies trying to sneak in, Shego also informed the building management.
"Alright, foods good for three months, water isn't a problem as well..." Ron then pulled a card out from one of his pockets "...also here, this has an undisclosed amount of cash, also good luck in your studies." Ron then hugged his little sister
"Thanks, don't worry. I'll hold the fort down. Take care, love you both." Hana said as the pair were walking out
"Love you too." Ron replied, Shego walked back to Hana and gave her a hug followed by a kiss to the forehead
"We'll watch over each other, take care yourself alright?" Shego smiled "Love you as well." she gave Hana one final squeeze before going out the door.
When both older people left Hana felt a chill run down her back
"Why do I have a bad feeling..." Hana mumbled to herself
Three days later
Ron, Shego, Betty and Yori were in a warehouse somewhere outside of berlin. All four people were in civilian clothing. They were waiting by their car, they sent a message to the two russian operatives that they will be riding together. After twenty minutes of waiting, the four of them heard a sound and all quickly drew their weapons. Ron, Shego and Betty drew their glock pistols, while Yori was holding to a pair of throwing knives. With Ron and Shegos enhanced hearing, their guns followed the footsteps of whoever was sneaking around, Betty and Yori were aiming at a rusty door. All of them were ready to shoot when three knocks in a specific pattern echoed. Everyone lowered their weapons and Ron gave the counter call of making a specific bird sound.
The door opened and the two russians entered, with Nadia keeping an eye on their six.
"Made sure no one was trailing us...is a habit I still have years after the cold war." Sasha said before scratching the back of his head
"Apologize for my companion, he's been through a lot over the years." Nadia said politely
"Alright were all here, before we start this search, do you have another idea where the key could be?" Betty asked
"According to the map I have, the area outside berlin has some bunkers from either the nazis or from the ussr, one bunker though stands out, this one has been reinforced to withstand a direct assault on it It's in a city east of here." Sasha said
"Alright we talk while on the move, lets get going." Betty said and everyone got inside
Somewhere in russia, two days before
Fist was walking through a dark hallway, the sound of music was playing and the sound of people having fun was just as loud as the music. Monkey Fist was in a coat and was wearing a formal attire, he walked to a bouncer and gave a nod, the bouncer nodded back and let Fist through a curtain. Walking through Fist was now in the vip area of the bar he walked in, inside were business people spending money on strippers dancing on their table, in front of them or on their lap, Fist rolls his eyes and walks towards a table with three men.
He walked up to them and nodded, the three of them nodded back and he took a seat.
"Gentlemen, thank you for accepting my call." Fist started
"What is it that you want? I know who you are." one of the men said in english with a thick accent
"Da, you are Monkey Fist, what do want from us?" another said
"Gentlemen, the reason I called you is because I will be needing your help." Fist said and paused to watch their expressions
The first two to talk to him had a raised eyebrow, while the third was looking at him with a neutral facial expression
"I have gotten hands on an important secret that was forgotten, a secret that will help me destroy my enemies." Fist said with an evil look
"What is this secret?" the third man asked
"Gentlemen do you know about Operation Hammer Down?"
Two were shaking while the third was mirroring Fists evil look
"I haven't heard that in years..." he said
"Ah so you know of it, yes?"
"Of course, I was part of it. Before I was unceremoniously removed from the operation and sent to a gulag." the third man said
"I haven't gotten your name yet..." Fist said extending a hand
"Kazimir, pleasure to meet you as well." the now identified person said while shaking hands with the madman
Present...
Monkey Fist was walking with Kazimir and the other two men who were Kazimirs right hand men, the four of them were in northern russia they were going to an abandoned warehouse in a town that was long abandoned after the population was removed due to a nuclear test. The radiation has been long gone and it is safe to go back, but no one returned, now the town is used by a mercenary organization that is in GJ and russias wanted list.
The four walked past a garage where men were welding an armored vehicle together, they walked past a house with seven heavily armed men were in, an open lot was used as a weapons stockpile and finally the warehouse where inside people were walking and running everywhere, the warehouse housed a huge arsenal of vehicles, ranging from dirt bikes to technicals, armored personnel carriers to main battle tanks, from civilian helicopters to attack helicopters.
"This is quite the weaponry, vehicle and man power you have." Fist said amazed
"Thank you, you get a lot of things when a country falls, all of these are from those who managed to hide them."
Kazimir then motioned Fist to follow him, they walked up to a control booth. The russian then stretched out his left arm towards the window
"They are at your disposal." Kazimir said with an evil smile
Fist walked closer and saw thousands upon thousands of mercenaries from all over russia and former ussr territories. Monkey Fist smiled a smile that screams evil and insanity.
"Kazimir...ready them, the second key is in moscow, we will move tomorrow." Monkey Fist then let out a purely psychopatic evil laugh
Meanwhile...
The six people in the car were heading towards a city east of berlin, currently Shego is driving, Betty's in the front passenger seat, Yori is behind Shego, Nadia is behind Betty, both Ron and Sasha are in the very back.
"Remind me again why we are sitting in the very back, being like luggage?" Sasha asked the four women
"Because you said you might hurt your neck if you sit in any seat, also because you won't stop looking around." Nadia responded
"I'll make a report about this to our superiors, lets see what they will say about you." Sasha says but he clearly has a playful smile
"Go ahead then, I'll explain to them about me, making sure your fuck ups are kept to a minimum." Nadia said while checking a digital map of the city they're going to
"Would you like me to tell about you downing five bottles of vodka, and driving like you're in a rally, across europe and singing off key to party in the cia?" Nadia added
"Well...let's just keep that between us, yes?" Sasha said chuckling
"You two must be very close to one another, huh?" Ron asked the older man across him
"You can say that, if it weren't for her, I'd probably be hunted by the very organization I love." Sasha says
"How did you two meet, if I may humbly ask?" Yori asked while looking at Sasha
"Well she met me...in a dark time of my life..." Sasha begins and everyone listens to his story
"It was august of two thousand and eight, I was tasked to cause chaos during the war with georgia. I made explosives and used them to drive georgians out of their homes. One day, I threw an explosive, it was just "a normal day" for me, but what I didn't know was there was a young boy...he...saw the bomb I made and picked it up...I...I was slow...too slow..." Sasha paused to stop his body from shaking
"...I watched as he disappeared, the area where the young boy was in...now a crater...a crater with blood. After that I asked if I can be on leave, I was granted and I went far away from that area. I ended up in some town and just drank and drank and drank. For how many days, I was wondering from bar to bar, picking up fights and breaking bones, it got to the point that moscow had to send some fellow operatives to restrain me, I of course fought back, in the end I was beaten and bruised, I was tired from the fighting and from the nightmares of that little boy."
"As I was about to end myself in a hotel room, she came in. Literally, she came bursting through the door, the shotgun in her hand was smoking and the anger in her eyes, if you were there, you'd probably shit yourself. Anyways, there she was Nadia, who at that time was known to get the job done, no matter what. Her mission was to put a stop to me, but on that day, she failed her mission...to save me."
"She shot the rope and for some miracle the rope was destroyed, minus my head and she, instead of pointing the gun to me and ending me, asked if I am hurt, when I told her I was physically fine, she told me, what about mentally. I broke down and cried, I told her about that day and afterwards she helped me recover. In the end she stayed by me and managed to get me back to work, our superiors decided to pair me with her, to watch over me, as I am a "favorite", if you could say. I honestly don't know. Since then wherever we are sent, she makes sure I don't fuck up and humiliate mother russia." Sasha then ends his story
"Just like me and Shego..." Ron said absent mindedly
"You two...are together?" Sasha asked
"Yes, are you two together as well?" Ron asked
"Oh, no. God forbid no, she has a man. It's more of a father daughter bond. With some playful friendly fighting." Sasha said
"Ah, I see then. Sorry for assuming."
"No worries."
"Sorry to interrupt but, how are you aware of the operation?" Betty asked
"That...is a long story to tell..." Sasha trails off
"We are still very far from our destination." Nadia says
"Fine, it started with my father, he was recruited to join an operation that as was said to him "will bring glory to our motherland". He at that time was in his twenties, yet his mind was way beyond his age. Anyways, they were making the plans and the nukes, the nuclear device was different, it made sure to keep the radiation in and not leak out, to prevent detection. Also the nuke itself was something that will not cause a nuclear fall out. As the plan was being made my father spoke about a man named Kazimir."
Sasha paused to rummage through his memories
"Kazimir, he was...mad, he wanted to just use regular nukes and to send ships to surround europe and claim the whole continent. The other european countries will eventually bow down to soviet russia and join the ussr...according to him. The others were getting annoyed with him, even the generals who were supervising us, were annoyed with him. Eventually he was removed from the operation in chains and was sent to a gulag to rot. Yet he walked free from the gulag after it was ended in ninety sixty one, after that he went silent, no one knows what happened to him, some say he formed a terrorist organization, I don't know. Back to the story..."
Sasha paused again then remembered so he continued
"The operation took thirty years, since it was slow yet moving, two nukes were made and were ready, yet it caused a lot of money, money that was starting to run short. Since this was during the late eighties already. With the fall of the iron curtain and staff escaping, the operation was cancelled, the nukes were locked somewhere safe from those who dare steal it or the west, the keys were scattered around the territories of the USSR, along with the files and records."
Sasha paused and looked outside into the heavens and let a single tear fall
"My father, he...he was a tough man, yet he couldn't fathom the idea of detonating the devices and ruin the lives of millions of people, he served russia, yet he also served mankind. He told me everything and on his deathbed told me to keep the nukes away from those who will use it for evil. I made a promise and joined the armed forces, eventually I joined the FSB and was lucky to handle any threat relating to the by the time forgotten operation. Years of making sure the nukes are safe took a toll on me. In the two thousands, I was glad there were no attempts to try and take the nukes until the war. The reason I was involved in it was to find a target who had learned about the operation. Then the rest you already know."
Sasha finished then inhaled deep, before exhaling
"Now, ten years later, someone's taking action." Betty said
"Do have an idea where this Kashmir guy is? He could be at play here." Ron asked
"Kazimir...I honestly don't know, by now he is in his eighties, so he might not be a person of interest, hell he may be dead for all I know."
"We're here." Nadia says as Shego parks on a parking lot
The group got out and surveyed the area, they were still in civilian clothes so they don't stand out, Shego had to wear a hologram to disguise herself, Ron wore a hat and shades, Betty removed her eye patch to wear shades as well. Yori, Nadia and Sasha had no problem, since they're not recognizable.
"Alright, we have no clue as to where the key may be, but we're here, let's divide and conquer. We'll split into three groups, Yori with me, Sasha you go with Ron, Shego with Nadia." everyone nodded and went with the other
"Alright, where do we go?" Shego asked
"According to the map, there are buildings of interest, libraries, churches, a soviet memorial...we could be here for days." Nadia says
"Alright, we'll go to the church near the river." Shego says
"We'll take this area." Betty points to a part of the city that has a small park
"We'll take the memorial area." Sasha said
"Alright, we meet up back here and afterwards go to a hotel." Betty said and then hey split up
Back in Middleton
Hana was doing her schoolwork when her phone rang, she check to see her mother calling her, she let out a sigh before picking her phone up
"Hello mom, why are you calling me?" Hana began
"Hana, where are you? We heard of the news just today, come home right now." Ms. Stoppable said
"I'm alright mom, Ron protected me." Hana said ignoring the last part
"He's good for nothing, we allowed you to go because we thought he was a nobody still, now he's all over being talked about, now you go home." Ms. Stoppable said
"Mom, again, it's all fine now, nothing bad happened to me, okay? Also Ron was worried for my safety okay? Now just calm down already."
"Calm down? Calm down? Hana Stoppable you pack your things and go home, that is an order!" Ms. Stoppable demanded
"Mom, you can't tell me what to do, I am an adult according to the law and I can decide for myself, now I can see why Ron was pissed at you and dad. Now mom, I will finish my studies here, I already made it aware to my school, now if you continue to treat me the same way you treated Ron, then consider yourselves childless." Hana ended the call and gently placed her phone down
She placed her hands on her face and let out an annoyed sigh
"Why...ugh..."
Back in Germany
Betty and Yori were walking in the park and discreetly eyeing the area for anything out of the ordinary, so far there was nothing to see and they decided to take a seat to take a break
"Where do you think a cold war object is hidden in a city that was once under soviet control?" Betty asked the ninja
"I do not know, there are many structures here that can be build over an old bunker entrance, without anyone knowing."
"That is a posibility..." Betty sighs "...wanna hang around before going back?"
"Sure." Yori says before giggling
Betty could have sworn she felt her heart skip a beat
Shego and Nadia were walking around the church they were inside and couldn't notice anything signaling a bunker entrance, outside as well didn't yield any results
"Hmm, this is harder than we thought." Nadia said
"Yeah, there's so many building in here it's hard to tell, they are good at keeping it hidden." Shego said
"Yes they did, do we go back to the car?" Nadia asked
"How about we meet up with Betty and Yori, then all four of us go back." Shego suggested
"Sure, haven't had a girl moment in a while." Nadia said, both women then left to go to the other pair of women
Ron and Sasha had just finished checking the buildings in the area, they were now walking in the path, they'll do a round across the area, then inspect the memorial. So far they saw nothing and after going around they finally went to the monument itself, it was placed on a three block platform with stairs in the middle, then an obelisk is in the middle, with the soviet star on top and an emblem below it. Below the emblem is the statue of a soviet soldier on a podium with russian writing to commemorate those who died in the war.
Ron and Sasha walked up to it and checked around, nothing was out of the ordinary, until Rons eyes noticed something on the grass behind the memorial, upon checking it was a piece of brick buried on the ground, whoever placed it there made sure to keep it in place, yet for Ron, it made no sense. Sasha picked up what Ron saw and casually walked towards it and tried to pry it open with his shoe, to not attract the attention of anyone in the buildings around, Ron picked up what Sasha is doing and walked up to him to chat
"Good idea, this will keep eyes away from us." Ron said
"Yes, it makes me feel bad though, since this place is a memorial and here I am doing this." Sasha said as he struggled to pry the brick out
"Can I try?" Ron asked
"Go ahead, I know of your ability." Sasha said stepping aside
Ron placed some MMP to his foot and pried the brick slightly open, Sasha took a look around before bending down to pretend to tie his shoes, he lifted the brick to see the ground was in a metal box and inside was a letter, he grabbed it and casually placed it in his pocket. Sasha and Ron stayed for a moment, so that the russian can pay his respect for those who died. Ron stayed a bit away to show respect, after some minutes he walked up to Sasha.
"Capitalist, Communist...doesn't matter when you're showing respect for those who gave up their life to defeat an evil man." Sasha said
"Agreed, now we'll be doing the same thing." Ron said
"Da, I will not die until the threat of those nukes are over. When it is that is only the time I will find peace."
Ron didn't answer back, he knew how important this is to Sasha, he'll give it his all as well, even if it kills him.
Shego and Nadia got out of the taxi they rode to the location of Betty and Yori, they both saw Yori and Betty sitting, they were about to walk to the two, before Shego stopped Nadia, at first the russian woman was confused, that is until she took notice of the situation
"Oh..." Nadia said
"Yup." Shego replied
Betty and Yori were sitting close to each other, both women had smiles on their faces as they looked into each others eyes, as if they see the others very soul. Shego and Nadia casually moved to hide themselves behind a tree, but were looking at the other two women in a very cartoonish way.
"We only knew each other for a short time, yet I enjoyed your company Betty." Yori said that both Shego and Nadia could hear
"I as well, but I think we're moving too fast, plus aren't you into Ron?" Betty said
"I am, but it's more of an adoration now, he has Shego-san, I could see they are meant for each other."
"Then what about me to you?"
"Well will just need to find out..." Yori then moved closer to Betty to give her a kiss on the lips
As fast as Yori came close, she backed away. That action caused Betty to blush madly, the head of GJ was speechless, she felt her heart beating madly. Shego and Nadia both covered their mouths with their hands and both women were trying not to squeal. Yori noticed both women and immediately blushed madly.
"It appears...we were seen..." Yori said to Betty
Betty went wide eye and looked behind her to see Shego and Nadia, walking to them with their hands still in their mouths.
"How much did you see?" Betty asked the other pair of women
"From you two smiling and confessing to...the kiss..." Shego said, Nadia couldn't hold it and let out a squeal
Despite her tough looking appearance, Nadia is a sucker for romantic stuff, seeing Betty and Nadia kiss just was too much for her.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry for spying but you two looks so adorable together!" Nadia said while lightly bouncing
Both Betty and Yoris blushes deepen, since they were caught. Eventually all four women managed to calm down, minus Nadia still squealing from time to time. They all started walking back to the car with Betty and Yori holding hands.
"Glad we didn't show it many days ago." Yori whispered to Betty
"We were moving way too fast, but I like our pace now." Betty said gently squeezing Yoris hand
Yori giggled and placed a quick kiss to Bettys left cheek
"Don't worry, me and Nadia won't tell it to the boys." Shego said without looking back
"Likewise." Nadia said not looking back as well
When the women went back to the car, they saw both men reading a piece of paper. Just by looking at their faces, they were pissed. They group of four women walked up to the men, Shego dared to speak first
"Guess you had luck."
"Huh, oh, hey, yeah." Ron said looking up
"We found this in the memorial, apparently whoever this is found the key and files for Operation Hammer Down, my german is okay yet I can't read this last few lines..." Sasha handed the paper to Nadia
Nadia looked at it and analyzed it
"It says he's a german who found a metal box with russian writings in a wall in a church near the river..." Nadia face palmed herself, so did Shego
"...this person was anti-russian, he took the metal box with the key and files inside and threw it at the river. He left this letter to hopefully let what he found be known and that he took his own life, so the russians won't come for him..." Nadia then saw the date the letter was made "...written on...the seventh of august ninety ninety two."
"Great, who knows how rusted it must be, the contents must be long gone." Shego said
"We don't know until we do. We'll search the river tomorrow, for now let's go to a hotel." Betty said
They went to a nearby hotel and prepared for the following day, all four women shared a room, while the men were in another. Their rooms were connected by a door inside. Both men tried not to listen in to the girl talk that was happening, so they let the girls know they were going out.
Both men went to a nearby bar and had a drink, as they were drinking Ron felt something, so he excused himself and went out. Once out he focused his MMP to himself
'Hello?' Ron asked
'Ron, it me Hana.'
'Hana, why you contacting me? Did anything happen?'
'Mom called me, she wants me to go home, I said if she treats me like how they treated you, they could say they're childless.'
Ron face palmed and let out a sigh
'Hana, as much as I'm proud of you standing up to them, I want you to not be like me. Don't give them another burden.'
'But...'
'I know, it hurts yes, yet it's my decision, you have to not follow my footsteps. It's not a pretty life, you have a lot of amazing things yet to do, so please Hana, forgive them. I don't know when I'll forgive them myself. Okay?'
'Fine. I'll do it Ron, you stay safe now. Love you.'
'Love you too.'
Ron then went back inside to finish his drink
The next day
Ron was using his MMP to scan the river, he so far couldn't find the box. He poured more MMP to almost basically make an astral projection of himself, after a few minutes he found an object that looks like a box, he was lucky it was a few meters in front of him, after opening his eyes he used his ability to retrieve the object.
The others watched as an object levitated out of the water and in to Rons hands, the thing was actually a box, they went back to the hotel and once inside the room, they opened it to reveal a dry folder in russian and a key.
"My god..." Sasha said
"My god indeed." Betty said
The television was on and it went to breaking news
"This just in...Moscow is under attacked by terrorists." everyone quickly looked at the tv to see a video of moscow on fire
Hey there, here's the last of the year. I apologize if I butchered the description of the memorial, it's hard to find pictures. I also had to fix a mistake I made last chapter since the KGB no longer exists. This is one of the longest chapters I made and am proud of it. Time for reviews
