Starting with this chapter, I'm going to be switching to the perspectives of the different Champions. Hope it doesn't get too confusing for you guys.

55th Entry: Nabooru's Spirit

While Zelda met up with the Sheikah warriors in disguise, Riju was near the camel-shaped Divine Beast Vah Naboris which stood on a plateau above the Gerudo Desert. She had been ordered by Premier Rhoam to keep an eye out for the Yiga Clan and report any unusual activity through the Hyrule Network. Her secondary objective was to gain control of Vah Naboris that she had been trying to do for months. Yet Riju couldn't activate Vah Naboris no matter how many times she entered through the beast's underside via Paraglider and placed her Sheikah Slate into the flower-shaped main terminal. Trying not to think about these things, she did practice thrusts with the Thunderspear. As she did this, an electric shockwave emanated from her body.

"What was that?" Buliara asked Riju.

"Urbosa's Fury," Riju answered as she took a break. "It's an ability my grandmother taught me that's similar to Daruk's Protection, only it does a lot more damage to enemies."

"Oh, I see. You should've used it when you fought that bird-brain Revali."

"I was going to use it, but then Yunobo interfered." Riju looked up at Vah Naboris. "Should I tell Zelda the truth, Buliara?"

"About what?"

"How the Champions and I haven't been able to gain control of our respective Divine Beasts."

Buliara paused for a moment. "Didn't Lady Urbosa not want you to say anything to Zelda?"

"Yes, and the other Province Leaders agree with her," Riju grumbled. "They think if Zelda knew the Champions were struggling just as much as she is, it would distract her from unlocking the Sealing Power. But I think she deserves to know."

"Why?"

"If you had seen how devastated she looked after returning from her last trip to the Spring of Courage, you would want to tell her."

Just then, the ground shook violently causing Riju, Buliara, and the other female Gerudo warriors that accompanied Riju to lose their balance. Looking towards the Gerudo Desert, Riju saw a large structure rising out the ground a few miles southwest from Gerudo Town. Once it fully rose, an immense shockwave was produced sending everyone flying into the air. Riju was flung into an open area between Vah Naboris' armored plates, and held onto one of the terminals for dear life dropping the Thunderspear in the process. She closed her eyes due to the amount of dust that was in the air, hoping the Gerudo Scimitar attached to her sash wouldn't fly away like the Thunderspear did.

As the dust settled, Riju opened her eyes again. Lying against the first terminal near Vah Naboris' main entrance on its underside, she noticed the sky had turned orange through the beast's armored plates with black squares hovering in the air. Below, there were floating blue flames and nothing else.

"Buliara?" Riju called.

No one answered.

"Guards?"

Silence greeted Riju once more.

"What is going on?" Riju wondered out loud as she picked up her Sheikah Slate, only to notice that the screen was black.

She pressed the screen several times, but nothing happened. Frustrated, Riju made her way to Vah Naboris' Guidance Stone and placed the Sheikah Slate on it hoping the stone would reactivate the slate. When she did this, the world suddenly turned negative with the sky turning black while the beast's interior became neon-green with white bugs flying around. But what drew Riju's attention more was seeing the outline of someone else's arms over her own. Then the other person removed themselves from her body and stood in front of her.

It was a tall Gerudo woman with a sharp pointed nose, long red hair tied back in a ponytail, and eyes the color of amber. She wore an amber gemstone on her forehead, with a white sleeveless top, pink pants, and red curled shoes.

"You're…Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit," Riju said, recognizing the woman from her history lessons at Castle Town. "How can you be here? Are you a ghost?"

Nabooru ran a hand through her long hair and said, "All you need to know is that I'm here to protect you from the effects of the Twilight and help you find the Tears of Light."

"Twilight?" Riju looked down and saw the blue flames were now replaced by Buliara and the other bodyguards, who were looking around the plateau and calling her name. "Is that what is happening out there?"

"Yes," Nabooru nodded. "That structure you saw rising in the Gerudo Desert is the Arbiter's Grounds, which held the Mirror of Twilight. It was summoned by the Seer's evil self, so that a Twili usurper named Zant could invade this world by covering it in Twilight turning every human-like being into Spirits and Beasts."

Frowning, Riju gave Buliara a pitiful glance before looking back at Nabooru. "If what you say is true, why am I not affected?"

"Because I'm currently bound to your body," Nabooru said casually. "And since I'm a Sage, the Twilight's effects are negated."

Still confused, Riju asked, "How do you know all this information? The Time of Twilight happened after you and the other Sages from the Hero of Time's era passed on."

"I was filled in by the Seer, whom you might know as Lana," Nabooru answered. "Now let's go and collect the Tears of Light to wake up the Light Spirit that's resting here."

Riju's eyes widened. "There's a Light Spirit in Vah Naboris? How is that possible?"

"Lana summoned the Light Spirits and placed them into the Divine Beasts for safekeeping when her evil half Cia reconstructed the Twilight Mirror Shards. Then when Cia made the Arbiter's Grounds appear, she brought forth the Sages that the Divine Beasts are named after having them possess each Champion while giving the Champions the Sense ability the Hero of Twilight had in his Wolf Form to see the Spirits and Tears of Light that are needed to awaken the Light Spirits."

One of the white bugs flew in front of Riju, causing her to snatch it midair. The bug turned into a ball made from light that attached itself to a translucent grapevine, which appeared on the same sash where Riju kept her Gerudo Scimitar that hadn't blown away.

"Are these bugs the Tears of Light?" Riju guessed.

Nabooru nodded once more.

"Will you remain with me until the Twilight is lifted?"

"Yes, at least in the Gerudo Province," replied Nabooru. "Now, are you ready?"

Unsheathing her Gerudo Scimitar, Riju smiled.
