Rabb House

McLean Va

Frank opened up the front door stepping aside giving Trish enough space to enter, as Trish made her way inside, Frank walked close behind her. Both headed towards the living room area; stopping for a brief moment when they heard laughing.

Trish knew Tom Boone's voice anywhere; there was once a time when she had wanted to marry him; it was after Harm sr had passed away. Standing there listening to him talk to Josh reminded her of listening to him talk to Harm.

Flashback

Rabb House 1970

La Jolla Ca

Trish just stood in the doorway listening to Tom telling little Harm stories about his dad. Over time she had become so grateful to him, without realizing it Tom had become an important part of their lives, he seemed to have just stepped in and been the strength that she and her son needed.

Deciding that she didn't want to disturb their time together, she went into the kitchen to make up some sandwiches for her boys; suddenly she stopped trying to figure out when she started to think of the both of them that way. Shaking her head she went about preparing the food. When she had finished she headed back out to the small sitting area where they were at.

Tom saw her approach, he stood and made his way over to Trish taking the tray of food from her."Trish these look scrumptious, you know the way to a man's heart."

Trish smiled; "And all this time I thought the way to a Navy Man's heart was a plane."

"Not always the case, in some cases food is the way. Right, little Harm!"

"Yes Sir!"

"Now what do we say to your mother?"

"Thank you, Ma'am." Tom ruffled little Harms hair, as he went and picked up an egg salad sandwich. Both watched as went over to the small sitting area and began to eat. Trish headed back towards the kitchen and Tom followed her.

When she entered she made herself busy, cleaning up. Tom walked over to her; "Trish what's going on with you?"

"Thomas..."

"Not going to work, I know something is eating at you."

"Really I'm fine; I'm ..." She finally broke down and allowed her tears to spill. Tom reached for her taking her into his full embrace. He cradled her head against his shoulder. She buried her face in his neck letting his sent take over. "It's been too long since I've been held like this."

Tom knew in his mind what could happen if he didn't put an end to this. "Trish I can't be him."

She looked into his eyes; "Tom please!"

"Mom!"

Both looked over at little Harm, he was standing in the doorway with a very confused look on his face. Tom went over to him. He knelt to him; "Hey there kiddo, you still hungry?"

Little Harm looked at Tom and then up at his mother. "No Sir, is mommy okay?"

Tom glanced back towards Trish (who had now turned around ) "Yeah; don't you worry about her. Sometimes mommy's get sad, she's just missing your daddy, but she'll be okay. I promise you, and I'd never make you a promise I can't keep."

"That's right Sir; Navy Men never break a promise."

"You got it." He once again ruffled Harms hair sending him on his way. Standing up he went back over to Trish. "You made him a promise didn't you?"

"I don't know what..."

"Tom don't lie to me, you made Harmon a promise."

"I did; I told him..."

"That's all we are; aren't we. Just a promise between Navy Men. An obligation, I thought we meant more to you than that..."

Trish shut up when she felt Tom's lips on hers. At first, she was startled then she allowed her to fall deep into his embrace. It didn't take long for their kisses to turn passionate. Before long she felt his hand running up her leg towards her center. Using her free hand she ran it down to his crotch, undoing the button and zipper on his jeans. God, it had been so long since she had been with a man, she felt herself getting wetter by the minute.

"Trish; Trish.."

Suddenly Trish snapped back out of her daydream and found herself standing in her son's house. Looking around she until she found the voice that was calling her.

"Trish it's good to see you and Frank."

"You to Tom, we're just dropping off our adorable little grandson."

"No doubt he's a handsome boy, just like his father and grandfather."

Trish smiled, there was still something about Tom Boone that could capture her attention and make her forget about everyone who was around her. Frank picked up on the sudden change in Trish, thinking he just figured it had something to do with Luke Pendry, Trish had told him once that, Amanda Pendry admitted to her about her brief fling with Tom. She offended wondered over the years if Luke was Tom's son. She'd never asked her outright, and now it was too late.

Before more could be said, Mac walked into the entrance way of her house, "I thought I heard voices out here." She said making her way over to Trish and Frank. "Thank you both for taking such good care of him."

Trish hugged her daughter in law- "Sarah darling it's our pleasure, he's such a good boy. No doubt that comes from the love you and Harmon are giving him."

Mac smiled, as she looked down at her sleeping little boy, "He makes it easy. He's really adjusted well to everyone and all the changes in his life." Before Mac could continue; the front door once again opened up. Harm walked in carrying their lunch, Beltway Burgers for everyone except himself, he had made a brief stop at Whole Foods, picking himself up a nice salad.

"Hey everyone lunch is..." He just stood looking when all eyes landed on him. Now he wondered what he had just walked in on.
