A/N- I'm so sorry that I've not updated this one, it wasn't my intention to stop writing it. Sometimes life gets in the way. :-(

Harm nodded to his wife" You're right we'll get through this together, just like we always have."

Mac gripped his hand; "We don't have to tell him anything tonight, in the morning we can tell him together as a family."

"Sweetheart I honestly don't know what I'd do without you, you're my rock."

Mac smiled ; "Works both ways Rabb"

They both got out of the SUV and made their way into their house. Once inside they where greeted by Trish."Harmon is everything okay?"

"No mom; I'm afraid it's not, I had to identify Annie."

Trish wrapped her arms around Harm, "Son I'm so sorry, I know this is the last thing you'd ever want to have to do."

"Mom I never wanted to have to do anything like this. Now I've got to tell a little boy his mother is gone forever. I don't know how to do that."

Trish looked at her son, she knew better than anyone how hard it is to tell a child about the loss of a parent, "Harmon I know how you are feeling right now..."

"Mom you're not helping me right now." Harm pushed past his mother and headed upstairs. Trish glanced over at Mac.

"Sarah how bad was it?"

"Pretty bad Trish; he's shaken up. I know this is bringing up memories from his childhood."

"Oh this is my fault, I should have been the one to tell him about Harmon. I was just in shock myself at the time, so grandma Sarah told him. I'm sure he's still hurt over that."

"I think this is different, I've only seen this way once before. It was a while ago; a case that involved a child. He ended up having to tell the twin sister that her sister had been murdered. It was very hard on him. That's why I know this is going to be just as hard on him."

Trish lowered her head; "My poor son, has lost more in life than any one person should have lose, starting with his father, than Diane..." Suddenly Trish placed her hand over her mouth, "Sarah I'm so sorry for bringing that up."

Mac reached for Trish's hand, "It's okay; really it is, I've made my peace with the fact that I look like a copy of Diane, plus Harm said we only look, our personality's are nothing alike."

"He's right dear; you are much more in tune with who you are, Diane tended to just let boys lead her. Especially Harm, I do believe she wanted more with him at the time than he was ready to give. However that's water under the bridge. How do you suggest that we tell that sweet little boy about his mother."

"This is something Harm needs to do, he needs to do it for the both of them." Mac signed and arched her back placing her hand on it and rubbing it. Trish picked up on this.

"Dear are you okay?"

"I'll be fine. I just have to remember to avoid stress, and tonight has been very stressful. I think I'll just head to bed."

Trish nodded her head; "We will lock up for you on our way out. Call us if you need us."

"We will."

Mac headed upstairs; while Trish went to go wake up Frank so they could leave. Once Mac reached the top of the stairs, she started to head towards her and Harms room, until she heard soft singing coming from the nursery. She turned and made her way towards the door. Stoping to listen in without making her presence known. She looked through the crack, and could make out Harm holding Tommy in his arms. He was cradling him and singing 'Baby Mine' to him.

Mac just stood and listened to him, she placed her hand on her baby bump. Rubbing it, shortly they would have 3 children to care for. Deep down she hoped they would be able to handle it all. Not realizing Harm had opened the door, she suddenly found herself looking at her husband. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Not long, Trish and Frank left for the night; she said they'd come back in the morning if we need them too."

Harm moved away from the doorway, closing it behind him. "I don't think we will, and I don't want to think about that just yet. All I want to do is go to bed and hold you and my baby girl right now."

Mac nodded her head; taking Harm by the hand and following him to their bedroom. Once inside she went about turning down the bed, trying not to let her back pain bother her. Harm had picked up on her discomfort, "Sweetheart what's wrong?"

"It's nothing really" She continued to get ready for bed.

"Sarah I know something is wrong; talk to me."

"I think it's just stress, my lower back is bothering me."

"Are you sure that's all it is?"

"Are you thinking it might be from the endometriosis?"

"I don't know sweetheart, if it's still bothering you in the morning we should go have you checked out."

"Harm we can't do that, what about Josh? We have to be here for him, I'll be fine, it's just some mild pain, I can deal with it."

"Sweetheart; I'm not willing to risk your health or our baby girl's health. You two are everything to me."

Mac reached and took Harm's face in her hands, "I'll make you deal, after we talk to Josh if it's still bad we will go; but first we need to be here as a family for him. After all we are all he has left."

Harm nodded his head, deep down he knew she was right, they needed to be here for Josh, just like his own grandma was there for him. He took his wife into his arms and they both laid down, it wasn't long before sleep took over.

Rabb House

La Jolla Ca

Christmas Day 1969

"Slow down there young man"

"I'm sorry grams, I smelled your Christmas Cookies."

"Just because you smell them; doesn't mean you get them right now."

"Please grams, like daddy says that they are the best."

"Sweet talk doesn't work on me, I know all The tricks the Rabb men use to get cookies. And I don't fall for any of them."

Little Harm ducked his head a made a sad face."Still want work, you have to wait till all our guests arrive.

Ding Dong - "I'll get grams." Trish made her way to the front door.As she opened it; her heart dropped when she saw the 2 Naval Officers standing there, she dropped to the ground and started to sobbing in her hands. Grams heard her, "Harmon why don't you take the cookies into the dining room for me, go ahead a sneak one it will be our little secret."

Harm smiled; "okay Grams." He took off with the cookies. In the meantime Grams made her way to the front door, she placed her hand on Trish's shoulder. The two officers helped Trish to stand up. They proceeded to inform them that Lt Harmon Rabb sr, had been shot down and was now considered M.I.A. Both woman nodded their heads. They watched as the two officer left.

Grams took Trish in her arms, "Oh Grams how will we tell him. He's his whole world."

"I'll take care of him dear, you take care of yourself, I'll take care of that sweet little boy."

Harm and Mac's Bedroom

"Dad" Harm bolted upright in bed. The sudden movement startled Mac.

"Harm what's wrong?" She placed her hand on Harms face, he was dripping with sweat. "Please talk to me?"

"I just had a dream about the day we found out about dad, grams made Christmas cookies." Harm buried his face in his hands just crying. Mac took him in her arms letting him cry."Do you want to talk about it?"

"No; but I need to, Grams had made her Christmas cookies, I begged her for some, cause dad always said her cookies are the best, at first she said no, so I thought smiling would work it didn't at first, I remember hearing the doorbell, it was after that she told me to take the cookies into the dinning room and I could sneak one. A little while later she came and got me, she took me out back, I knew something was wrong, mom didn't seem happy, she was sad, that's when grams told me about dad. I... I didn't want to believe her. I wanted my dad; I'd asked Santa to bring him home for Christmas, now Santa in my eyes had taken him from me." Harm stoped he couldn't talk anymore, he just started sobbing...

Mac held him to her; trying to take away as much of his pain as she could.Suddenly she didn't see her Harm, she saw a little 5 year boy that lost his father.
