Satan City, Orange Star High School – Locker Hall
The bell rang throughout the school, signaling the end of the classes for this day. Videl made her way to her locker, ready to put down her books, grab what she needed and go home. Once she had everything she needed she went to join her friends, who were waiting for her, greeting her. Approaching them, the five were about to leave, when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, Videl…" A familiar voice said. "Can we talk for a moment, please?"
Turning around. Videl saw that the person who had spoken to her is Fenn. The boy had an awkward posture, as if he didn't want to be here but should for a reason. She was eager to tell him that he could keep his words to himself, but hearing him say 'please' made her change her mind.
"Why should I talk to you?" Videl asked, crossing her arms. "If you want to tell me something, say it in front of everyone."
Fenn sighed. "Please, it's something I'd like to tell you in private."
Videl stared at the brunette, searching for lies in his words, but did not notice anything that told her that he was lying. On one hand she didn't want to talk to him, but on the other side she was curious why Fenn insisted so much on talking alone.
"All right, let's talk alone." Videl turned her back on Fenn, turning to her friends. "You guys go, I'll catch up with you later."
The four teenagers said goodbye to the black-haired girl, who smiled and also said goodbye to them. Once the four had left Videl turned to Fenn, frowning and placing her hands on her hips.
"Now we're alone, happy?" Fenn tried to speak, but stumbled on his words, irritating Videl, who tapped her left foot on the ground. "Do you want to tell me something or have you made me stay here for nothing?"
Fenn sighed heavily as he ran his hands through his hair and then muttered something under his breath, too low for the girl to hear. Videl made an annoyed face. "You've said something? Because I didn't hear you because of how softly you spoke."
"I said I'm sorry, okay!?" Fenn shouted, his eyes were closed and his face was red. Little by little the young man calmed down, opening his eyes. "I'm sorry for what I told you a few days ago. I didn't mean to make you feel bad. You know how I am, I couldn't help but make that comment, so I'm sorry."
That surprised Videl. She knew how proud Fenn was, so she never believed that the teen would apologize for what he said and that he would sound totally sincere. The girl herself was so dumbfounded that she didn't know what to say, all she managed to do was blink in disbelief. In a minute se recovered her voice. "Are you serious?"
Fenn looked away. "Yes, I say it seriously. Actually…" He blushed deeply, he had never been so sincere with someone in his life, except with his father, that's it. "Actually, I never thought you were ugly." Suddenly Fenn's tone of voice became more serious. "I hope you don't tell anyone that I got emotional with you, I have a reputation to uphold."
Fenn's words caused a small blush to appear on Videl's face, who turned her face so that the boy would not notice it.
"You're an idiot, did you know that?" Fenn made a disinterested face, as if he had been told the same thing a thousand times. "I thought I would never speak to you again, but if you have swallowed you pride to apologize, I know you're telling the truth."
"So… Truce?" Fenn presented his hand.
Videl smiled and then punched Fenn on the shoulder. "Truce!"
Fenn faked a wince as he rubbed his 'bruised' shoulder, instigating laughter from the girl. Fenn looked at Videl, and seeing her so happy he thought it was a good idea to put aside his pride and apologize to her.
"Since you've already apologized to me, I suppose we could go back to your tutoring sessions." Videl crossed her arms. "How about we go to my house right now to study together?"
"I thinks it's a good idea." Fenn then remembered something very important. "On second thought, what do you think if you go and then I follow you? I must give Gohan something as soon as possible. I hope it's not a problem."
Videl shrugged. "Okay, whatever you want."
Fenn quickly left to head over to the group of friends, with a single thought on his mind. "Gohan, it's time for you to show me how powerful you are!"
"Are any of you wondering what Fenn wanted to say to Videl? It seemed like it was important." Erasa said to her friends.
"Who knows? Maybe he has apologized to Videl." Sharpner scoffed, knowing it was the most unlikely answer of all. Fenn was not the type to apologize to anyone, especially when he was angry.
"Oh, come on! I think it would be very nice if he apologized, just imagine it." Erasa clasped her hands, grinning goofily. "I've always thought there was something between the two of them. Both would look so cute together!"
Sharpner rolled his eyes. "You always say that about the two of them."
The group of friends kept walking as they spoke, unaware that a person was heading towards them. Just when everyone was join to laugh at a joke that Sharpner made they heard someone coughing behind them. Turning around, the four teenagers were surprised to see that it was none other than Fenn who was coughing.
"I see you're having a good time without me, right?" Fenn smirked arrogantly.
"What are you doing here, Fenn? I thought you were talking to Videl about something important." Erasa said in a somewhat rude tone of voice, believing that Fenn and the girl in pigtails were still fighting.
Fenn shook his hand nonchalantly. "I've already talked to her, I was just coming to give Gohan something."
That confused the hybrid, who remembered that he hadn't forgotten anything, so he didn't know what Fenn wanted to give him. The brunette approached Gohan, handing him a small folded piece of paper. After that he smiled at the four of them, then left without saying goodbye to them.
"You could at least say goodbye!" Erasa cried with her hands on her hips.
Gohan looked at the folded piece of paper curiously, so while the others weren't looking at him he unfolded it and read what was written in it.
[Come to Gizard Wasteland in two hours. I will be waiting.]
Gohan looked at the paper seriously and then crumpled it in his hands. He knew he was going to have to fight Fenn just as he had promised, but he didn't think it would be so soon. But if his friend wanted a fight he would give it to him.
"Gohan, what did Fenn give you?" Shānhú asked.
"It's nothing you have to worry about." Gohan said seriously, making his friends look at him, it was not normal to see him with such a serious attitude. "I have to go right now. I'll wait for you later, Shānhú. Bye!"
Gohan said goodbye to his friends, ready to go home.
He had to prepare for a fight.
"It's a shame Gohan left so quickly. I wanted to talk to him more, but now I won't be able to." Erasa puffed out her cheeks, annoyed that Gohan had left.
"I'm sure you can talk to him another time. After all, this Saturday you two will have your date." Sharpner declared disinterestedly.
"It's true! I almost forgot it!" Erasa'a expression changed to one of happiness.
The mention of the date annoyed Shānhú. She didn't know why she was so upset, it was just a date between two of her friends, so why did she disliked it so much!? Shaking her head, Shānhú stopped thinking about it, focusing more on both blonde teenagers.
"Now that I realize it…" Erasa smiled wickedly at Shānhú, who took a step back upon seeing that smile. "You spend a lot of time with Gohan, but I hope you don't try to dig your nails into him. After all, I'm his date."
"The one who is nailing her nails is you. You look like a tigress sinking her claws into a gazelle so that no one steals her prey." Sharpner muttered under his breath, hoping not to be overhead by the blonde.
Unfortunately for him, Erasa had heard him perfectly.
"What did you say about me, Sharpner?" Erasa had a smile on her face that promised pain, scaring the platinum blonde teen.
Sharpner stepped back little by little. "I-I didn't s-say anything, Erasa."
"Liar! How can you say that about me!? I'm going to make you pay!" Erasa begun to chase Sharpner, who started running around to avoid being caught by the girl.
Shānhú dropped a bead of sweat due to the comic scene that she had in front of her.
Gizard Wasteland
"Does Fenn know that we faced Vegeta here so many years ago, or did he instinctively choose this site?" Gohan asked himself, looking around him as waves of memories washed over him. This was one of the first places where he fought for his life, something that was not easily forgotten.
Expanding his senses, Gohan began searching for Fenn's ki, sensing it a kilometer from where he was. Flying, the hybrid heads towards where that energy was, finding a blurred figure a top one of the mountains. Looking more closely, he sees that its Fenn dressed in a gray jumpsuit, alongside a somewhat modern white and green saiyan armor. Gohan flew towards him and positioned himself behind him, both of them gazing at the landscape for a few moments in silence.
"You know? This place is one of my favorite to train, I never knew why. It has something special." Fenn said with his arms crossed.
"Nice armor." Gohan looked at the brunette up and down.
"Oh, this? Don't worry, it's not very resistant, I don't want to cheat in our fight… I just thought it would be worthy of a saiyan, although you probably don't know it." Fenn smirked arrogantly, turning to Gohan.
"I wore one similar to yours when I was in another planet. It was given to me by the prince of the saiyans, Vegeta." Gohan said nonchalantly.
Fenn laughed. "You are really impressive Gohan, I was right to lay my eyes on you. Although I must confess something to you, this armor was not created by the saiy–"
His sentence was interrupted by Gohan. "It's an armor from the army of Freeza, the tyrant who destroyed Planet Vegeta."
This surprised Fenn, but he tried to hide it as best as he could. "So Freeza destroyed the saiyans' home world… That's interesting information, my father would like to know that for sure."
"Enough of the chatter. Shall we start?" Gohan asked seriously.
Fenn cracked his knuckles. "As you wish. But then don't cry if I defeat you."
The two saiyans settled into fighting positions and stared at each other, analyzing one another, waiting who would attack first. After a few seconds the two disappeared completely from view, hearing a powerful shock wave produced by the collision of the fists of both opponents.
Pulling back, Fenn lunged towards Gohan, delivering a spinning kick to the face that the hybrid parried with his right forearm. Pushing Fenn's leg away, Gohan punched him straight in the gut, causing Fenn to recoil from the blow. Seeing that his opponent was distracted, he took the opportunity to uppercut him in the jaw, sending the brunette flying.
Quickly regaining consciousness, Fenn fathered himself about ten meters above Gohan, forming a ki sphere in his left hand and throwing it at Gohan, who deflected it with the back of his hand.
"Not bad Gohan, not bad. You're certainly an excellent adversary." Fenn thought smiling, happy to be able to fight Gohan.
Forming a ki aura around his right hand, Fenn lunged at Gohan, who was prepared to counter the brunette's attack. Just when Fenn was a few inches from Gohan, the hybrid hit him with a left hook on the cheek, but to his surprise Fenn vanished.
"An afterimage!?"
Due to his surprise, Gohan didn't feel Fenn's ki behind him. Fenn elbowed him in the back and then finished him off with a sledge hammer, slamming Gohan to the ground. Flying towards one of the plateaus, the brunette perched on one of them, watching as Gohan slowly rose from the crater he had formed.
"Is that all you can do, Gohan!?" Fenn yelled annoyed, unable to believe how weak his friend was.
Flying towards another of the plateaus, Gohan landed on it. He could notice beads of sweat on his forehead, he was not used to a fight of this level. But even with that the saiyans part of him was happy to be able to fight again.
"I still have energy for more. Besides, I know you're not going all out."
That brought a smile to the brunette. "That's true, I just wanted to see if you were worthy of me using my full power, and from what I see you are. The warm-up is over, it's time to go all out!"
A golden aura enveloped Fenn, his hair standing on end and turning gold, his eyes becoming blue-green. He had transformed into a Super Saiyan. Seeing that Fenn had transformed, Gohan soon did the same. The two friends stared at each other.
"Ready to continue our fight?" Fenn asked arrogantly.
"I'm more than ready." Gohan took a stance at the same time as Fenn.
"Perfect! Then…" Fenn disappeared from view, forcing Gohan to get on his guard. "…Get ready!" Fenn gave Gohan a high kick, who crouched down, responding with a spinning low kick towards Fenn's legs to destabilize him. Finishing on the ground, Fenn saw that his friend was about to attack him, so acting quickly, he flipped back to dodge Gohan's fist.
Gohan launched ki blasts at Fenn, forcing him to take flight to avoid them, forming a cloud of smoke due to the explosions. Believing he had hit Fenn, Gohan was wrong when he felt a kikōha heading towards him, countering it with his own and causing the two waves to explode.
The both lunged at each other, dodging every blow they struck. Fenn landed a horizontal hook at Gohan, which vanished as if he had never been there. Stunned, Fenn looked around him to see where the hybrid was, until he began to feel his ki on top of him, so he placed his arms on top of him to stop an ax kick.
Grinning widely, Fenn could feel his blood boiling with the excitement he felt. He hadn't even had such an interesting fight with his father!
Increasing his aura, with a scream he expelled a large amount of ki, driving Gohan back. Turning towards Gohan, he lunged back at his friend with his fists drawn back, with Gohan making the same move. When the two were inches apart they both thrust their fists forward, hitting each other's faces.
The two remained in that position for a few seconds until they fell back, each settling on nearby plateaus. Both saiyans had a trickle of blood running from their lips.
Fenn spat blood onto the ground. "You're strong, Gohan. I knew I was right to put my eyes on you."
"Thank you, you're also quite strong." Gohan said seriously, wiping the blood with the back of his hand. "I'm already starting to wear out while still fresh. It's noticeable that he trains unlike me."
"I hope you're not tired, because this battle has only just begun!" Fenn created a ki sphere towards Gohan, who counterattacked with his own. The two spheres exploded.
Running towards Gohan, who also charged at him, Fenn punched him with his right hand, being grabbed by Gohan. Trying again with the left hand, the result was the same. The two of them began to fight to see who would be the first to push the other back.
"Yes! This is what I've been looking for! A rival worthy of someone like me!" Fenn's eyes had a maniacal glint, as if his life now made sense.
"Why did he just remind me of someone?" Gohan thought comically as he looked at Fenn.
West City, Capsule Corporation, Gravity Chamber
Meanwhile, at Capsule Corporation, inside the gravity chamber, the prince of the Saiyans could be seen training hard. You could see that he was doing sit-ups with a gravity of thousand. Suddenly he stopped and his nose tingled, forcing him to close his eyes and sneeze loudly.
Wiping his nose, Vegeta muttered to himself. "Someone must be talking about me."
Both saiyans kept holding on, neither giving up until Gohan took advantage of Fenn's carelessness, head-butting him across the face, causing Fenn to grab his nose, which was bleeding. Gohan quickly kneed Fenn's chin and then launched a kikōha to the stomach, sending the teen to the ground.
Rising off the ground, the only damage Fenn had was to his face. His armor had been able to stop the kikōha, earning only one surface burn. Still the saiyan managed to smile, confusing Gohan.
"I suppose you know that beyond the Super Saiyan there is the Super Saiyan 2, right?" Fenn asked Gohan.
"Yes." He replied, not knowing where Fenn wanted to go.
"Look… This is the Super Saiyan 2!" Fenn exclaimed as his muscles increased slightly. He had transformed into the Super Saiyan Dai ni Dankai, which surprised Gohan. "But there is something beyond. And that's… The level three!" Letting out a cry, his muscles swelled even more, due to the Super Saiyan Dai san Dankai.
"Super Saiyan 2? Level three? You got it wrong, that's just advanced forms of the–" Gohan was cut off by an irate Fenn.
"Shut up!" Fenn yelled as he pounced on Gohan, punching him on the stomach and side kicking him in the ribs, sending him away.
"You're very wrong… This is the real Super Saiyan 2." Gohan said seriously as his hair stood on end even more, his golden aura intensified and multiple electrical pops surrounded him.
"H-How is this possible!?" Fenn thought as he felt Gohan's energy, noticing that he now surpassed him by far.
Before he could thought of anything else, Gohan appeared in front of him, smacking him in the stomach and causing him to recoil, clutching his stomach in pain. Gohan ran against Fenn to hit him harder than before.
Fenn was brutally beaten without a chance to defend himself. Every blow he tried to return was dodged so easily that the boy felt ashamed.
"Why can't I land a single hit? WHY!?" Fenn cried desperately.
"That form as a lot of strength and surprises at the beginning, but that's it, the increase in your muscles doesn't benefit you and you lose speed and agility. And the waste of energy renders your transformation practically useless in long battles." Gohan explained. "We're done now, don't force me to continue."
That greatly angered the saiyan, who had a throbbing vein in his forehead.
"Shut up for once!" Fenn yelled as he released his full power, enveloping himself in his golden aura. "Great Impact!" Both of his hands were encircled by crimson ki, then he slapped hard, merging the two energies and firing an immense kikōdan towards Gohan.
"That attack seems quite powerful. The best thing is to stop it before it causes any damage." Gohan clasped his hands to use his more characteristic attack. "Ka…me…ha…me…" In his hands a sphere of celestial ki is formed. "….HA!" He yelled as he released a powerful beam of ki, which easily engulfed Fenn's attack.
The saiyan is also swallowed by the Kamehameha, throwing him away several tens of meters. Fenn was on the ground with his armor destroyed and his chest burned, his muscles have returned to normal, he doesn't have enough strength to endure his transformation.
"N-Ngh…" Fenn struggled to keep his golden aura active, but was growing more and more exhausted.
Gohan walked towards him.
"You have fought well, Fenn, but do not force me to continue until you pass out." Gohan looked at him with pity, turning around. "It was fun, seriously, but I'm not a warrior. I don't want to keep fighting, it's not my thing."
"You don't want to fight!?" Fenn yelled in disbelief, getting even angrier. "We're saiyans, gods of combat! And that's your way of acting!?" Little by little he stood up. "You don't deserve to be of the same race as me!" He yelled, preparing to punch the raven-haired man.
Gohan cocked his head to the side to avoid the blow, then elbowed Fenn in the nose, knocking him down. Fenn lost his golden aura and his hair turned brown.
"I hope you were satisfied, Fenn. Goodbye." Gohan flew off, leaving the other saiyan alone, who let out a scream on anger and frustration.
Orange Star High School, Second Floor – Classroom 2C
"I wonder what Gohan is doing, he's taking a while…" Shānhú wondered, waiting patiently for her friend to arrive. Today he was supposed to tutor her, but Gohan was taking too long. "Maybe he has a problem and that's why he's taking so long."
She sighed heavily. Just when she was about to start doing her homework the sliding door suddenly opened, scaring her enormously, but she was immediately reassured when she saw that it was Gohan. The teen approached the stands while trying to justify why he arrived so late, babbling along the way.
Shānhú shook her head, indicating it didn't matter.
Gohan sat next to Shānhú, smiling at her and starting to take out his school supplies, being stared by the red-haired girl without the young man noticing.
"And what are we doing today, Gohan?" Shanhu asked as she supported her head with her hands.
Gohan grabbed a pen from his shoulder bag. "Since you asked me, I thought we could both study together for the math test and do our homework. If that's okay with you, of course."
"It sounds pretty good."
Gohan smiled brightly, taking the math book and placing it in front of him as the girl did the same.
"Are you ready?" Gohan's question was answered with a nod from Shānhú, so the young man opened the book to one page and began to explain the contents to the girl.
After half an hour the two teenagers stopped studying and began to do their homework, with the redhead asking Gohan what she couldn't not understand, who explained it to her in detail and calmly. After about twenty minutes both Gohan and Shānhú decided to stop to rest. The redhead didn't know whether to ask Gohan about her question, since she didn't want to sound like she was a gossiper, but in the end she decided to do it.
"Tell me, Gohan…" Shānhú hesitated, drawing Gohan attention. "Why did you leave so fast today? You surprised us a bit."
Gohan scratched his neck, he really didn't know what to answer. "It's nothing you have to worry about."
Shānhú looked at Gohan. "Alright, it's okay if you don't want to tell me."
"Thank for understanding."
The two teenagers fell silent. They were a bit uncomfortable because they didn't know what to say, so Gohan decided to break the silence.
"Since you've asked me a question, can I ask you one?"
"Of course. Go ahead, shoot." Shānhú finger guns, causing Gohan to laugh.
"I have always wondered why you live alone and not with your parents. Did something happen between you?" That question caused Shānhú's brow to furrow and her lips to form a line. "If you don't want to answer me don't do it, it doesn't bother me."
"It's not that, I haven't talked to my family for a few years. You took me by surprise, that's all." Shānhú began to play with a pencil, moving it between her fingers. "If I don't live with my parents it's because I don't have a good relationship with one of them."
Gohan looked at her in surprise. "Do you really get along so badly with your parents?"
"The truth is, I ran away from my parents' house a few years ago." Shānhú sighed heavily, not wanting to remember her past.
Gohan was dumbfounded at that information. He got along perfectly well with his family, so it never crossed his mind that other people didn't have the same relationship he had with his parents.
[I would like to know what I did to have such a useless daughter! You're an embarrassment to this family!]
"Shānhú… Shānhú!" The red-haired girl stood up immediately, she hadn't even realized she was thinking until she heard Gohan's voice, who looked at her with concern. "Is something wrong with you? You seemed very thoughtful."
"It's nothing, I was remembering something unimportant." Shānhú said nonchalantly.
"Are you serious? It didn't seem like it…" Gohan looked at Shānhú, she had an expression on her face as if to say that she didn't want to talk about it anymore. "Well, if you say so, I'll believe you."
"And what are your parents like, Gohan?" Shānhú said trying to change the subject.
"Well, my mom has a bit of a… explosive personality, but aside from that she cares about me and loves me very much." Gohan's expression changed to one of sadness. "My dad… He was a great man. He might not have spent a lot of time with me or mom, but I know he loved us very much, and he had always given everything for us."
"Was? Is he…" Shānhú tried to say the next word. "…Dead?"
"Yes, he died about seven years ago." Gohan's gaze darkened for a few moments, remembering what happened so many years ago, but soon his expression returned to normal.
"I didn't know. I'm sorry if I reminded you of something bad, it wasn't my intention." Shānhú threw her head down, hoping she hadn't disturbed Gohan.
Gohan shook his hand, smiling. "No problem. Years ago this would have affected me, but I have come to accept it, so you don't have to worry."
Shānhú raised her head thoughtfully. "Wait, you said he died seven years ago… Was he a victim of Cell?"
That hit Gohan were it hurt the most. "Something like that. He died in an explosion caused by Cell. There was nothing left of his body."
"What was his name?"
"His name was Son Gokū." Gohan replied.
"Wait… Son Gokū? The man who saved the world from the evil Piccolo Daimaoh?"
"Y-Yes." Gohan replied somewhat embarrassed.
"That man is a legend! He was a finalist in two Tenkaichi Budōkai when he was only eleven and fourteen years old. He was trained by the legendary Kame Sennin, it was even rumored that he was the grandson of… Son Gohan!" Shānhú babbled, realizing that her friend had the same name as an old martial artists.
"Yes. Son Gohan Sr. was his grandfather, who was a partner of my grandfather Gyūmaō." Gohan smirked shyly.
"Gyūmaō!? King Gyūmaō himself is your grandfather!?" The girl exclaimed. "No wonder you excel so much in physical education classes. Not only are you a saiyan, but you also come from a lineage full of excellent warriors and martial artists."
Gohan laughed nervously at the comment. "Yes, I have also trained in martial arts, but it's not something I continue to do. I mostly trained with my father, but I have quit since he died."
"That Son Gokū is a mystery, there are those who say that he had a tail like that of a monkey. Although it's normal, he's a saiyan, like you." Shānhú gave Gohan a knowing look.
"Yes, that's true. I also had one when I was a child, but it wasn't as firm as a monkey's, I lost it with a little tug." He never thought that he would tell anyone this, but since Shānhú knew his secret he could be calm.
"I'm sure you looked cute with a tail." Shānhú laughed innocently.
The saiyan blushed. He wasn't used to being flattered unless his mother did it. "H-How about we continue with our homework. We have rested enough, don't you think?"
"If that's what you want. For me there is no problem." Shānhú smiled, happy to know more about Gohan.
Jingle Village, Fenn's House, Living Room; Later
"Ouch!" Fenn complained, his father was healing the wounds on his face. "Could you be more careful!? It sting what you're putting on me!"
"It wouldn't hurt so much if you weren't full of wounds." Roegan said with concern in his voice, not every day his son came home so hurt. "And can you explain to me how you ended up like this?"
Fenn growled, as if embarrassed to say it, but one look from his father was enough for him to begin to speak.
"Do you remember that I told you that there was a new student in the institute and that I had the suspicion that he was 'special'?" Roegan nodded. "Well, it turns out that it was true. That Son Gohan is a saiyan, so I demanded a fight and underestimated him, but it won't happen twice!"
"It won't happen twice because you won't face him again. I told you to stay away from that boy, do you understand in the position that we are? Do you understand that you are turning the boy who probably beat Cell against you? I never thought you would be such an idiot." Roegan said disappointed by his son.
Fenn stood up. "I haven't had a match at my level in years! If you kept training more daily I could face you, but you're forcing me to look for new fights!"
"I'm not forcing you to do anything, Fenn." Roegan spoke in a calm tone of voice. "You're stubborn, we don't get stronger as an end goal, but to achieve our own goals. I'm happy with my current life, I don't need anything more than what I have."
"Well, the saiyan who defeated Freeza doesn't think the same as you!" Fenn yelled, banging on the wooden table.
A tense silence filled the place.
"A saiyan defeated Freeza? Is that bastard dead?" Roegan's eyes sharpened, the news had touched a sensitive point for the man.
"Gohan told me that he fought Freeza alongise that Vegeta guy you told me about." Fenn mentioned nonchalantly, clearly he didn't care about that battle.
"Vegeta? But King Vegeta surely died in the planet's explos–" Roegan's eyes widened. "Oh by Kami, he had a son. Prince Vegeta IV… Surely he was the first Super Saiyan."
"Do you understand now? There are many things outside of which I don't know. I want to be stronger and find more obstacles to overcome." Fenn said trying to convince his father.
"I have said no!" Roegan yelled.
"You have always said no! The Red Ribbon, Piccolo Daimaoh, the two mysterious monsters that destroyed cities, Cell! You've never acted even though you could! I've heard stories of heroes who have finished with all of them, I want to be at their same level! I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!"
"You must not be like me, you must be better!" Roegan yelled, losing his patience little by little.
"To be better I need to face obstacles! The only obstacle you have ever faced is the dead of mother!" Fenn made a disgusted face.
"DON'T PUT KAULA INTO THIS!" Roegan screeched, a vein throbbing in his forehead.
Fenn knew that talking about his mother was a sensitive topic for his father, but he was so angry that he didn't care right now. "Are you going to escape this conversation!? A re you afraid I can't handle this!? You're a coward! You haven't even allowed me to investigate the legend of those magical spheres that could grant wishes!"
"Oh, by Kami. Are you still with that? They are just legends and rumors." Roegan pressed his thumb and index finger against the bridge of his nose.
"Were you afraid of the possibility that it was real and not being able to find those spheres?" Fenn smiled cynically.
"Fenn, we will not have this conversation again."
"MAYBE YOU WOULD PREFER MOM TO REMAIN DEAD AND–" Fenn was silenced by a loud slap from his father, which turned his face away and left a red mark. The brunette turned to look at his father, a grimace forming on his lips.
"Boy, you're out of control. Don't say anything else if you don't want to end up worse than now." Roegan warned sternly, not being taken seriously by his son.
"Put me to test!" Fenn shouted, surrounding himself by a golden light, but Roegan let out a sigh that even denoted boredom, surprising him.
Roegan cocked his head, crossing his arms. "Are you trying to intimidate me, kid? You have a few miles to go if you think being stronger than me will do you any good, so go to your room before your injuries get worse."
Fenn prepared to attack, but began to hesitate, his father's frown intimidating him.
"Damn it. If him more powerful than him, why am I afraid of moving forward?" Fenn thought scared, then he stepped back and unconsciously undid the transformation.
Roegan transformed into a Super Saiyan and walked towards his son calmly, then aimed a blow at his face, but stopped just before making contact.
"Would a punch have changed anything? You have yet to mature, kid." He said des-transforming.
"Why did you stop!? FIGHT!" Fell yelled sweating from the situation, but Roegan turned around and gave him and icy look that intimidated him.
"I don't need to hit you to prove I'm right. Our discussion is over, I don't want to talk about it again." Roegan walked away from Fenn, sitting on the sofa and grabbing a book that was on the table. "Go to your room immediately."
Fenn turned red with anger and backed away from him, his injuries forcing him to slow down in pain. With a growl of anger, he made his way onto his room, slamming the door once he was inside.
Author Note: And here is it! The first fight of the story! It cost me a lot to think about it, I spent three hours writing it, so I hope you like it!
And about Fenn's parents, I will make a few chapters explaining their story, so don't worry about them!
I hope you like this chapter! Until next time!
